OT: Charisma's new photos from Maxim (March issue)

ok, well when I first saw these pics, I actually kinda moved suddenly (from surprise/excitement) and scared my cat who then knocked a pot plant clean off a shelf here.... Talk about Kitten Board member synchronicity....

So if anyone else wants to see Charisma's new kitty-plant-knocking photo shoot from Maxim (March), I put the pics here...

Okay, she's a beautiful girl, but I find myself troubled that she posed for this magazine. Maxim seems to be a step down from Playboy, et al. I've never really looked at it, but when I'm working at Barnes & Noble, I've noticed a few of the young women (hell, some of them are really girls) on the cover, and they've tended to be actresses I don't really have much respect for. (Jessica Biel, for instance, posing at the age of 18(?) to try to get out of her contract w/ Aaron Spelling.) Not that anyone should tell Charisma what to do, but I wish it didn't make me think a little less of her. As much as I enjoy a little action in fic, this makes me a bit uncomfortable. Hope I haven't offended anyone. If I have, I'm sorry, and I tried to express my opinion as just that - my POV.

Well, I might just throw in a tiny apology here - just in case my post offended anyone? I was only the messenger of course, etc etc :-/

In my opinion, she's sexy and beautiful, and like anyone, she has more than enough star power to hide herself in a potato sack at the mere mention of the word 'sexy' if she wants. But she didn't. And she's gorgeous

Lastly, I think the comment about Angelina and the use of the word 'forced' was just a figure of speech that a heck of a lot of other STRAIGHT women would use in exactly the same instance. In fact I can even remember a straight friend of mine using that very word to describe her own special exception toward one Eliza Dushku...

Well, I don't know who Jennifer Biel is but I can tell you that both Lucy Lawless and I think Renee O'Connor have done photo shoots for Maxim (ROC may have been for STUFF - similar mag tho). Those shoots were very tastefully done - and damn hot if I say so myself.

I would harldy call it a step down from Playboy...I would more compare it to a mens version of Cosmo ! I've got the issues that LL etc have been in and read other issues and I think they have some good articles in..I don't see it at all as a magazine for the 'trench coat' brigade.

I don't see why they should have to do photo shoots like these - but I'm glad when they do I think it's time that Cosmo or some other 'womens' mag did the same with James, Brendon and David LOL

Ohhh and what is wrong with her butt?! Love the tattoos tho'...real or fake?

This thread, or any thread about a publicity photo shoot done by a Buffy/Angel cast member are here for the enjoyment of those who enjoy them. They're clearly marked as to what they are, if folks aren't happy with the pictures or the magazines in which the pictures appear, we ask them to please simply ignore the thread.

If there is a photo shoot with content that is extraordinarily objectionable or offensive, please contact the mods privately, and we'll make a decision as to whether they should remain on the board at all or not.

On an unofficial, totally personal opinion note on Charisma's comment about being with Angelina Jolie: It's an isolated quote with no context, no sense of her tone, her facial expression, or the wording of the question that prompted the response. If she had said "If I were trapped on a desert island with a woman, it would have to be Angelina Jolie.", I don't think we'd take it as a slam against islands, it's just the format of the (silly) question. I can't recall any other quotes from Charisma that would lead me to believe she was a homophobe or a jerk, and I doubt many would argue with her actual choice, so I'm personally going to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I think these are really nicely done, better than a shoot she did for Stuff some time ago, in which she looked as tho' she'd been spray painted.

Hey gang, some more rather interesting info about Charisma's new Maxim interview....

In the article, the interviewer asks about Charisma's new film, a comedy called 'The Groomsman', because in it she has a female lover.

And here's what Charisma said about it:

"Oh I loved it! I play the lead character who has an affair with the postwoman. And yes there's a scene where we're both naked in the shower and a lime green dildo is involved. I'm terribly shy so doing nude was quite a problem for me. I made them close the set because although ten million people might eventually see me naked in that scene, I just needed to feel comfortable and relaxed for that moment. But because the other girl was naked too, I felt much better about the whole thing."
