Yep - It's Happy New Year for all us spoiler free hos!!!

I am sailing the ship very fast - If I'm quick enough and dash across the dateline we can celebrate New Years for about two days!!!

PARTY !!!!!

As for the kitten - failing Katharyn making up her mind I am prepared to temporarily designate the cat as Seefer (C fer 'cat') It will get a real name somewhere along the way.

Me? We only had two suggestions and you didn't want to win the prize... even though that is not fixed yet.

In what circumstances does Willow declare "I don't wanna to be the one who finds bodies anymore?"

You may have noticed that I only ever ask Willow linked quote questions... lets face it though due to her *GRR* relatively short screen time you all know Tara's lines... by heart. So hence the question topics...

Well, happy New Years to all you unspoiled kitties (I reserve the biggest squeezes and huggles for you)!

I think Seefer is a ferpectly cromulent name for a seafaring cat *chuckle*. As for Willow not wanting to find the dead bodies anymore, who can blame her? Personally, I wouldn't be making a quiet aside to Giles, after stumbling over the body of a dead lunatic with nasty extra-terresrial glumph in his mouth, I would be screaming and running in the opposite direction. The episode was ... Listening to Fear. Although if I was Giles, I wouldn't be simply offering a quick sympathetic glance, I'd be giving her a big, eye-popping hug ('cause they're the best kind), and then some

Seefer it is... but as I suspect that Kerry does not want to win... then it might have to be Wolfie who wins for supporting the name*S*

You mean I win a prize for doing absolutely nothing? Hey, that sounds fine and dandysome to me

Was standing at the bow this morning, wind in the ole' hair, looking all explorery and interesting, I might add, watching the dawn. Funnily enough, it was exactly the same dawn that was happening out of my office window at home. Absolutely beautiful. It was one of those that lasts for ages - just enough cloud to pick up the changing colours of the rising sun, going from intense reds and yellows over a deep indigo sky, to wisps of pink over the most amazing blue sky - it was actually turquoise, and now everything's gone all silvery. Not a good description - I wish you could have all seen it; it would have made you all coo, I promise I remember thinking, the first time I saw Turner's watercolours of dawns, etc, and thinking "bit of a romanticism, that", but, seeing one like that, I don't know, I think he got it pretty right. I remember being impressed reading that he wanted to paint a storm, so got himself lashed to a ships' mast, and went out in one - all gale and scary waves, and he's up the bleedin' mast, painting away! We Britishers are insane, you know! I can't ever remember suffering for my art like that. I used to make a big, enthusiastic mess, though - I could clear a whole life drawing studio with a few, well-aimed splats of paint! At least I don't ruin quite so many clothes playing guitar. Well, it's to work for me. Ho-hum.

Think I'll just go explore some islands. I'll discover you some lands, and bring you all back a vegetable, and maybe even save you some of the weevils from my biscuits. I won't reach the urine-drinking stage, though, so no go there! Weevils are good, though - crunchy with a gooey centre.

I did have a Willow question, but I forgot it. Instead, I've got Bambi, as played by Griff Rhys Jones, reading out "Who said 'lawks-a-Lordy, my bottom's on fire'?" from the Young Ones, which, for some reason, I can't shake. Woke up with it in my head. Maybe that's the cause of my insanity. Who can tell? It's not Buffy, but I'm sure Willow and Tara would have loved The Young Ones, had they seen it - who can resist that classic scene of Rik, Ade, Chris and Nigel cavorting about Bristol Temple Meades Station to Motorhead's The Ace Of Spades? I certainly can't.

I think I'll go outside, now: I'm feeling peculiar (he said, the nasty little plagarist that he is).

Awwww, thanks Wolfie. I always wanted my own vegetable to pet and cuddle and call 'George'. Giving you a bunch of big, eye-popping hugs that you can take with you.

Don't forget to collect your prize from Katharyn. If you can pry her out of the brig - I'm staying out of there myself. I need a good rest from last time!!

OI!!! PUT ME DOWN YOU GREAT BLONDE GIT!!!!

I have been forcibly deposited at the door to the brig by an over enthusiastic Wolfie with chocolate stains on his moustache. The last time it took me a week to get out. This woman should stay out of the sun altogher!! I'm not sure I have the stamina to go another round of rubbing aloe on her sunburn. Can someone send down a good meal and a couple of cans of Red Bull?

As he stands proudly at the prow of the ship (how else would you stand?), he takes a deep, satisfied breath - and, after a mighty coughing fit (we really must find another place for the potato peelings), thinks how nice it is to be back in charge again. He clears his throat, ready to practice some Vogon-like shouting. I mean, that's the best part - the shouting - as well as the epaulettes, which, in this case, are more eye-catching than Eccentrica Gallumbits, and more dumbfoundingly shiny than the highly polished orb that Queen Elizabeth II has been known to flash at parties (especially if there's an American President present).

A slight noise distracts him. He clears his throat and cocks his head. Yes - there it is again - a sort of do-dah rhythmic sound - kind of a wet slap, followed by some sort of anguished cry. Coming from below. He cranes over the edge of the ship, to a nearby porthole, which is conveniently ajar (thank God it isn't stormy, he thinks). Yes - there it is again - more distinctly this time - it's the sound of wet cream slopping over skin, followed by a sobbing plea - "please - no more - I can't stand slopping any more of this stuff over your back - sunburn be damnned - my wrists hurt", occasionally interspersed with "Oh, for a red bull!"

He straightens. Where the Hell is he going to find a bull around here, let alone a red one? And in a can? Isn't that going to be a little difficult? Aren't bulls a little big to fit in a can? Now, the ship's cat might fit ... I mean, the size is closer, but wouldn't that be a bit of an unpopular move? Oh, well, you're in command now, he mutters to himself - you can do whatever you want, and then keelhaul anyone who complains. Maybe cook would know what red bull is ... A sudden, sharp slap, followed by a squeal jars him out of his reverie (cook was making fish pie tonight). Whoops - sounds like sustenance is needed down there - maybe tiredness is kicking in. He straightens and adjusting his mighty epaulettes (getting unbalanced can be dangerous onboard ship), he heads off to find this "red bull".

A loud crash, followed by an urgent mooing causes the ship's resident seagulls to start and fly away in confusion. More crashing sounds. More mooing, although the sounds seem more strangled, somehow. Wolfie suddenly bursts up onto deck. His epaulettes are no longer straight, and his hair is mussed up. The arm of his jacket has been torn off, and his collar - one of those starched-type jobbies, has burst away from it's studs, and is waving at a jaunty angle. Aside from a number of cuts and bruises visible, there is a wild, slightly despirate look in his eyes.

"I can report, with all conclusivity, that a bull will not fit into a can. Um, has anyone got a dustpan and brush? Preferrably a large one ... I have decided not to attempt the same with Seefer - I am reasonable confident that a cat may also be too large for a can, and frankly, I am feeling a little nauseous anyway."

This last is true. There is a definite green pallour. He pauses, then coughs.

"Ah, chaps, there is also one last thing. I, ah, well, the thing is, I sort of borrowed the bull - well, for "borrowed", read "blagged", and for "bull", read "sacred cow of the local canniballistic tribe, who are probably very, very angry right now, and are most likely scouring these waters in their canoe's, looking for the perpetrators, so they can have a hearty chew of their bottoms in revenge". So, I think it might be wise to, ah, lower the sails, and wish for a rather strong wind. Oh, and possibly get the oars out, too."

In the distance, a low drumming can be heard.

Wolfie pauses, then adds hopefully, "I hope everyone is feeling okay, and ah, any subsequent danger to life and limb should be viewed as a neccessary adjunct to having a little excitement on board ... It is, after all, a long voyage, and, ah, I promise lots of choclate when we next stop. Ah, cup of tea, anyone?"

Thanks for trying Wolfie. Sorry to put you to all that trouble.

[gives Wolfie a big shiny medal and a kiss on the cheek.]

I was actually thinking of 'red bull' a gurana based energy drink we get here - they're trying to ban it because kiddies are getting high as kites on the stuff. [even better than red cordial!!]

I'm coming up on deck as soon as I can coax Katharyn into releasing the death grip she has on my leg. In the meantime, if I may be so presumptuous as to advise the acting captain, I suggest we raise all sail - give Hanki a big telescope and send her into the crow's nest as a lookout, and bugger off asap. I have vague recollections of one Captain Cook coming a cropper in these waters and I wouldn't like to follow his example.

Welcome back Bex - now that you're aboard again I'd like you to organise a big party - sort of a " we escaped from the cannibals and all I got was this lousy T-shirt " party.

Getting all gung-ho for the moment - having just seen LoTR, I am all for suiting up and having a big bloody battle with the cannibals - lots of swords, blood, flying headbutts (is that one t or two? Can't believe my sodding dictionary has "head cheese" and not "headbut(t)"), bows an' arra's - wait, no, scarpering is much the better idea. I also discovered a big box full of party poppers and paper hats in the galley, so we could have props for the ensuing party ...

Normal or Earl Grey, Bex?

I do admit to trying red bull - disgusting! Wasn't there a big thing about people mixing it with spirit, and getting outrageously drunk? Haven't tried that one, but as I drink mostly bitter or red wine, I don't think the ensuing cocktail would be very nice. Wadworth's 6X and red bull - hmmmmm.
