I have decided that for myself I will consider Santa Barbera to be Sunnydale in the Buffyverse.
Of course, since we are talking about the *Buffyverse* LA might exist but S Barbera does'nt.
Oh and thanx all, esp Bob who put in the most convincing argument on behalf of SB.
Hwyl a Sbri
I'm also pretty sure that in Anne, no reference was made to a particular city just *the City*

Someone should also check their tapes of "Amends" and "Hush" and any other episode where Sunnydale makes the TV news, because I have a vague memory of a map being shown on the TV screen pointing out where Sunnydale is.

Why don't you take a moment to register yourself and introduce yourself here. That way you can edit your posts, and who knows, maybe other Belgians will delurk as well, I do believe you are the only one so far. What channel do you watch Buffy on btw, have you seen S5?

Actually, "Los Angeles" is a county as well as a city. Beverly Hills, for example, is legally a different city but you can go from one to the other without noticing. Same for Hollywood.
From what I understand, Hollywood isn't a city; just a glorified neighborhood of LA.
I once looked at an atlas a while ago and couldn't find it; I wondered at the time if it ever even existed, that somehow it once was there like Atlantis and had become this mystical legend that people speak of in hushed tones as if it meant something important in the far off past.
Or something like that.

I've been in Goleta/Santa Barbara visiting an old girl-friend just once (my only time in California, too). I hope he's not speaking of Goleta; and it's surely not Montecito. But isn't there a small town east of Santa Barbara called Summerland? Would make some sort of cosmic sense!

ofcourse I've downloaded The Kiss!
And I read all the scripts,
so I'm pretty spoiled.
I guess we'll see season 5 in october.
At least, that's what I hope!
FrenchRose : Oh, yeah sure, everybody jokes about Belgium, feel free to do so, I do too.
Rose, OT for the last time I promise.
but just thought i'd mention that...

I like the word "dale" in place names. Very storybook-sounding. There's a town in upstate New York, near Lake Chatauqua, called Lilydale. Isn't that just the loveliest name you've ever heard?
See Rose, you're not the only one who goes off on OT tangents.
Now, I tried to find the old topic of the same, well, topic, but it's been so long, it's not around anymore (big suprise).
I was watching an episode of Angel tonight (the one where Faith turns herself in, which personally, I had never seen) and, I quote:
[some random cop guy] "...from a town NORTH of here..." talking about the warrent for Faith's arrest.
NOW. *big discussion point* What was the final verdict? I was hearing a pretty good concensus on Santa Barbara for a around-about location for Sunnydale, but isn't that SOUTH of LA????
This guy said it was NORTH.
Hmmmmmmmmm..........
Thoughts?

Wow, look at that, I actually have a vague idea of basic geography in the general area of Los Angeles! This is good, considering I was sixteen before I finally figured out what the major cross streets were near my house . . . I feel so accomplished now . . .
Just a random factoid I thought you might want to know.

Sunnyvale is where the actress Terri Hatcher was born.

I like her a lot btw, she made a great Lois.
And whoopsie for me not knowing where Santa Barbara was , but let's face it; I live in Western Australia and have a hard enough time navigating around my own city, without trying to know another country!!!!
Yay! I've just scored a whole day of Buffy watching!!!!

Just stumbled accross that while looking for something else. One benefit of insomnia is one can find all sorts of things on the net.
Yes she did make a great Lois. Did you see her as Kiki in Tango & Cash?
