I've read almost all of Lisa's Buffy fictions. All fabulously long and entertaining throughout.
Very Professional.

I only time I ever got an emotional reaction from a book like I have from Lisa's fics was from reading "Imzadi" by Peter David.
Her work is better than 99% of the Buffy books out there.

Easily 90% of the fanfic I read is way better. Seriously.
Thanks Lisa!

It occurs to me that it is so good because it works on so many levels.
First and the obvious one is it is a well written "BtVS" fan fic. I have read many of these, but very few have grabbed my attention as much as this one. CUR, Sass' "Answering Darkness", and Bobo'sMom's "When the Goddess Calls" are good recent examples. What they all have in common is taking the mythos as we know it and then extending Willow and Tara’s characters in ways that seem natural and organic. In CUR I could really believe that in 5 years the girls would be living in London. In “When the Goddess Calls” I can see an elderly Willow and Tara coming home to Sunnydale for their final years. I see the same sort of organic growth in this story as well.
This story is fascinating because it “feels” right and it is so multi-layered. But when I remove the layers, I keep finding a great story here.
We have a wonderful story of two people in love, true destined Love, and despite all obstacles in their way, both from the outside and of their own design, they continue to show how much the other one matters and means to them. The fact that it is Willow and Tara is an added bonus for us, but if they were two other characters (Lisa, Sass, and myself have all portrayed W&T as finding each other in past lives in different stories) then it would still be just as good. We could loose all the other “Buffy” characters and still have a great story.
Go down a bit deeper and just concentrate on Tara. Lisa’s love for her is so obvious. Of course she is preaching to the choir here! We have Tara, a loving person who is taken advantaged of by the one she loves and trusts above all others. When things start looking better, she is handed another loss. While this would be enough to break most other characters we get a situation where she becomes more powerful. More so in fact that she fears not for herself, but the ones she loves. By itself, a young woman dealing with this god like power, would also make a great story.
We have the supreme pleasure of being able to get all of these facets rolled together in one fantastic story. I really can’t wait to see where it is going.
Lisa, you said you have a 150 so pages of another story that you think is better? Don’t tease us so!

Great fic! I've been working on one and purposely staying away from the Anya character because I'm used to writing non-fic. But thought I would have a go at it with some great characters. I just don't know if I can do "Anyaisms" justics yet. I pray all is well with you. You are truly a wonderful writer. I wholeheartedly agree with you on the "i'll never watch another flipping episode". I'll be done too, darlin.

I've just finished reading "Reward and Reprisal" and the ending where Tara and the scoobies plan a "surprise" (but is not a surprise exactly cos Willow and Tara already planned it) ceremony for Willow and herself was just beautiful. I could imagine the breathtaking view of the ceremony. *sniff* I a person who is usually almost emotionless...this is the perfect fairytale ending. This really pulled my heart strings.
The rest is awesome too. Unforgetable.
Lisa Countryman is the best. Wonder whether she'll publish her works? Or is she the next Joss?

I am still working on reading "Bound".
Of course, so far UC is the best, with "Second Chance" coming in very close.

I came accross Bound at Pink Rabbit, which brought me to the rest of Lisa's W/T fiction, and then led me here. Up to that point, I had read her Star Trek stuff, and liked the writing style. It will always be a special story for me because of this...because it's responsible for me being here, and finding a forum to express my long held love for W/T and their relationship. It also helps that I laugh out loud whenever I think of that hotel scene!
Lisa, I look forward to your next update.

I agree. Soul's Song is a great piece, but always overlooked because its so short, especially when compared to Lisa's other pieces. Though I'm also a fan of Tears of a Goddess and Bound too.

Really great fanfic, please Lisa give us more!!!!
I have been away for a week, with nary a computer in sight!
I have been trying to catch up with Chapters 31 and 32 - but they don't load completely.
Any hints/suggestions?? I'm in serious need of an update as this story is completely awesome and the one thing I was soooo looking forward to catching up on, on my return.
Heeeellllllpppp, please - *prostrates self at the feet of the magnificent Lisa of Nine, talent extraordinaire*

I think that incomplete download thing happens often if the document is too long. At least I get that a lot. Normally refresh works. If it doesn't then empty your browser's cache/ temporary internet files. Then load the pages again. That should work.
I have to do this often when loading long text pages cos I also have a crappy internet connection and only have Lisa's page loading when I want to read her stuff.

Lisa I'm loving the fic! I usually don't like Tara/Willow married fics, but this was written so beautifully who couldn't love this fic!
Here is the next chapter. It's a bit longer than usual, but I didn't think you'd mind.
This has a MAJOR CLIFFHANGER WARNING.
It's getting down to the real wire. Only a couple of chapters left and so I have to turn up the angst-o-meter. Really, I had to. It's a law. I read it. Hmm, maybe I wrote that law. Anyway, I'm sure I read it somewhere!
Enjoy,
Lisa http://www.quiknet.com/~lcountry/uncon33.html
PS. Thank you for all the feedback. It's keeping me sane with all the homework. BTW,
-I'm really not trying to kill you with cliffhangers.
- the witches' committee is supposed to be a dark entity.
-If you're having trouble downloading... try holding the control key while you hit refresh. It lets you load a fresh page and not the partial page stored.
Thanks again!
Lisa
