Yo dudes. Hee, my anya is hated...how wonderful!
sam darls-hey sammi, thanks, i'm glad you're liking the mini-evil of anya...personally it's fun for me too to have a character to hate. oh yes, boxing day i know is in dec. but, i was going for all winter holidays...i for some reason thought it was earlier than the 26th so i mentioned it....whoops. thanks again....

justin-Anyabert? Interesting name...i'm not getting the reference, but eh...vatever...no, no, you have very good questions...She makes sure the companies are working right, yes, ah see, her main goal is to find faults, right? She, unfortunately has decided that by interviewing employees (not upsetting, no, never) she'll get to the bottom of any seemingly-flawless company...she's like a nazi in my mind. Intimidation promotes efficiency, which unless we're talking about the sacrifice of Tara, is true. Everyone gets more afraid and keeps their eyes down. Hmm..Tara with a steam roller? Good idea....good idea...although messy. We wanna keep the building clean justin.
ah yes, i realized that too soon after i posted that. i know now that boxing day is much later in dec. but at the time i was writing it i thought it was earlier and thus acknowledged it too soon...whoops...

was doing killer until then....
YMKA-oh hello Marina! Oh good, you're caught up, that's fab....DUDE! IT's NOT BOB....*grumbles* it's Bob.....from some eastern european country i haven't yet decided.....the inspector stuff is an invention of my own, but i imagine there are such people, i mean they have they for other institutions, why not computer companies? Heh....yes, the legality of Anya's perverseness...well....we'll see about that....ah Anya's reasons for being so invasive? That'll be answered in this update. I'm sorry i puzzle you, but i said earlier Anya's alterior motives would be explained as the updates went on....she's got something that she's kind of not forgotten about Willow....you'll see.
screeminguitar- hey Marie, i've been okay, doing fine...finety fine fine even....it's okay, you're not under a huge amount of survalence if you don't reply...i'm not checking up on everyone.....hell i don't check up on myself even...yes, Anya's getting a hate club, i've decided it. Oh well, i'm glad the writing is good....oh i'm glad you saw the sketch, i'm kinda computer-incapacitated...and dont' get the link thingymabob.....thus posting it like 5 billion times....but i'm glad you saw it. Okay Kittens....this will be an interesting update....cause i might have a small, meaning SMALL update to follow this soon...that will be like a small cliff-hanger....and then that will lead into the big story thing....so...that's my plan...i don't know if it will stick...this is all coming out today, so i hope it works!
Chapter 33
“How long has it been now?”
“It’s been two hours and two minutes, similar to the two hours and minutes I described to you about fifteen seconds ago,” came the exasperated voice.
Willow and Buffy were stuck in the coffee room, discussing the many possible outcomes of this doomed interview. Willow had decided that the floor was too hot to stand on, so she paced back and forth continuously while Buffy watched nervously; she had never seen her boss this upset about Anya before. Well, there was that one time, where Willow first met her, but under those cercumstances, that was understandable. Had Willow told Tara about that?
“I mean, it doesn’t make any sense!”
“What doesn’t?”
“WHY?! Of ALL the people would she decide to attack Tara?”
“She knows who you like. That’s why she ‘interviewed’ me last time, remember?”
“But Tara’s harmless, she wouldn’t ever have anything to do with a failure on my part; she’s new, how could she know about ‘suspicious activity’ even if there was some…?”
“Hey, I’m harmless too! And she still attacked me!” Came the indignant response from Buffy, but for some reason Willow had launched onto another monologue, and couldn’t hear Buffy’s voice anymore. Like a true actor, Willow was the performer as well as the audience to her babbling; she could neither hear nor comprehend outside criticism.
“It’s like one day the gods decided, ‘hey, let’s screw this redhead over as much as possible, because obviously she’s had too much luck for her own good.’ It’s not like I’ve tried to keep the two separated, but even when I try, the witch sought her out!” Buffy walked over to the door’s window and called softly to the redhead.
“Willow?”
“…I can’t believe I let her go after Tara! I can’t believe I let her remove me from the interview!”
“Willow?”
“I don’t understand why, if I couldn’t have just let Tara go home sick, this would have all been prevented! Tahiti! Why didn’t I think of Tahiti?! She could have been sipping coconut drinks on the beach as we speak, instead of being put through this, this, invasion!”
“WILLOW?!”
“WHAT?!” yelled the irate redhead.
“I think the interview’s done, Anya’s no where around, Tara’s just sitting there at her desk,” Buffy said peaking through the small window of the coffee room’s door.
“Really?” Willow said leaping to the door window as well, causing Buffy to be pushed out of the way.
“Hey, ouch?”
Willow seemed deaf again. She was more worried why Tara hadn’t come to talk to them already. What was delaying her? Buffy repeated Willow’s actions and knocked Willow out of the doorway window.
“Hey!”
“It’s your fault for being such a worry-wort anyway, I want a good look out there before we leave this room. If Anya’s still there, I’m staying in here.”
Willow sat back on the donut table, annoyed at her friend. But she had a good point. If Anya was in fact waiting around the corner, trying to trick the two to come out, she could have a field day with ‘regulation infringement’ upon her interview with Tara. So Willow sat back, nervously checking her fingernails.
“Okay, I don’t see anything, it looks like Anya has left; all the workers are a lot less antsy-looking.”
Willow looked up, weakly smiling. The only thing she wanted to do was comfort her Tara. Why wasn’t Tara coming over to talk to them?
“Hey, hey,” Buffy said waving her arm frantically, “Tara’s coming this way, and she looks extremely, uh, whoa..."
"What?" Willow asked aprehensively.
"She just looks, well, un-Tara like," Buffy explained weakly.
Willow shot up and stood looking over the blonde’s head. Sure enough, Tara was walking swiftly towards them, with a new look Willow hadn’t seen before. Anger.
Willow gulped.
A burst through the doorway and Tara stood in front of the redhead and the shorter blond; an awesome sight, had Willow not been so frightened, she would have probably drooled.
She didn’t say anything; she only walked swiftly up to Buffy.
“Buffy, would you mind giving Willow and I a little privacy?”
Tara saw the pained look on Buffy’s face and quickly added, “Anya’s gone.”
Buffy left hurriedly, leaving her coffee and donut to hear the ensuing talk. Willow felt like begging Buffy to let her tag along; this was scaring her. What did Anya say to her?
Willow decided to say something before Tara boxed her ears. Tears threatened her eyes, she couldn’t bear Tara’s look anymore; it almost seemed like disgust.
“Tara? Are you okay? Well of course you’re not okay, I mean, coming in here all furious-like when I have no idea what Anya said to you, and then with the eyes that can kill, shooting at me, I’m a little frightened about what the outcome of this conversation will be. I,I, I didn’t mean to let her talk to you, I really, really didn’t, in fact, I wanted her to die when she pointed at you, and I don’t know what I can do to make it up to you---“ Willow was cut off suddenly with Tara’s lips pressed onto hers. “Where’d this come from?” Willow didn’t argue though, she gratefully gave into the kiss. The luscious soft brushing was enough to soothe the redhead, and the blonde all in one intake. They softly nuzzled each other before resting their heads on one another.
Tara pulled away slightly, her arms hanging about Willow’s neck, breathing heavily.
“I...Love...you...okay?" Tara got out slowly, "So don't forget it."
Willow stood dumb, quite happy that her words didn’t rhyme with: “Eye…bate…do”
Tara couldn’t believe what that obnoxious woman had said; she was easy enough to figure out, though. That’s why she survived so well towards the end of the interview. But when she kept pestering Tara for information about Willow and her relationship, she decided to give in a bit; maybe she could see where Anya’s interest came from. She suspected possible jealousy, but Willow never said anything about a past with Anya before. After Anya’s cruel words, and departure, Tara decided to think over the possibilities.
She knew her Willow, knew the love she bore for her, but decided just to test it out, put on a show of indignation, although it seemed to work a little too well. Willow looked like she was going to cry.
So her resolve was deflated; it’s hard to stay angry at upset-Willow. She trusted Willow too, and could not imagine Anya ever having a history beyond “Prime Bitch Inspector” with her lover.
But she wasn’t completely sure.
“Tara? Honey? What happened?” Willow asked, her brow as confused as Tara’s troubled mind.
“The interview was boring, and didn’t have much of any use for either of us. She wanted information I wasn’t willing to give, nor could give.”
Willow breathed a sigh of relief.
“However, towards the end, she said something, s-something I’m a little unclear about,” Tara said tiptoeing around the truth.
Willow’s revelry was suddenly broken, she was about to kiss Tara senseless for escaping the grasp of Anya untouched, a record no one has yet to reach after more than an hour with her. But, she now dreaded what was said after all. (She still planned to kiss Tara senseless, though.)
“What did she say?”
“She basically insulted me, then said not-to-subtly that you and her were an item at one point and to watch out because you are ‘fickle’ with your women.” Tara said simply.
Willow stared.
“I mean, I was angry at first, but then I realized…I r-realized you would never date such a person as Anya, right?” Tara’s resolve was fading, why wasn’t Willow answering her? Willow’s face contorted into a nasty mess of a frown, glaring eyes and of course, the depressed brow.
“Willow? You didn’t, did you?”
“That…BITCH!” Willow said hotly.
Tara immediately went into-concerned mode, wondering what that response meant. Willow’s face was searching for some sort of sign that Tara’s news was a joke, but was stopped with Tara’s hands cupping her chin.
“Willow, look at me, you didn’t date her, did you?”
“NO! NEVER!” Willow shook her head vehemently for emphasis.
Tara sighed, relieved at this news.
“Well, then, what did she do? What did she mean by ‘history’?”
“History?!”
“That’s what she said, besides your being fickle.”
“She’s insane! We never dated, I never liked her, she made a pass at me once, but I never, ever, was interested, and now she comes in here like this, tormenting my best friends, and attacking me behind my back!”
“Wait, hold on, she made a pass at you?” Tara said, a flare of jealousy shot up through her eyes.
“When I first started out my company, she came by, to inspect it’s initial opening. After a few more visits she told me that I was good with my money, or something, and then started talking about joining forces against evil bunny-bearing communists that have been depriving America of it’s beloved capitalism.”
Tara almost laughed, but decided against it, seeing that Willow didn’t find it funny.
“Did she do anything else?”
“No, not really,” Willow said airily, it was best to leave out the part where Anya patted her ass, best not to anger Tara.
“What did you say to her?”
“I distinctly told her that it was in my best interest to never get involved with co-workers, and to promote efficiency through working, not fraternizing,” Willow said as if reading a regulation book. She shrugged, “She can’t fight against her own guidelines.”
“Tara? You okay?” Tara was trying to keep her cool after hearing about this incident. She was glad though, that it was only verbal harassment. She could handle that. The thought of her, and Willow, together, just made her cringe.
“I’m, okay, I guess,” Tara slowly, “but this does explain why she was so mean to me, more than usual, that is.”
“Yea, now that I think about it, ever since then, she’s been less friendly. I mean, she’s never been that friendly, but more so in the bitchy-area.”
“Do you think she was out for revenge?”
“Possibly, although I’m still unclear why she chose me. And also why she’d still hold a grudge about it, if anything I was nicer than she was.”
“I can understand why she liked you,” Tara said smiling sweetly, “But I’m not going to allow any more of this, this..." Tara faded off searching for the right word.
"Crap?"
"Exactly, I'm not going to let it slide anymore," she said sternly.
“What are we going to do? She may come back to recheck what she 'suspected for being suspcious' the first time round.”
“As an excuse to check on me again?” Tara said with a quirked smile.
“Again, I say, possibly,” Willow said already dreading the upcoming visit.
“Well there is always the chance she’ll leave us alone,” Tara said hopefully.
“Tara, honey, what have I told you about jinxing situations?”
”Don’t do it unless you have a gorgeous redhead in your arms?”
“I don’t remember tha—“
Tara kissed Willow again, “This time, we’ll be prepared.”
“Mmm...I guess. But we can’t get rid of her.”
“Are you sure?”
“Well, how do you get rid of a governmental inspector that is sent all around the nation to look over America’s computer companies? It’s kind of a difficult job to replace; she may be horrible, but she does get results.”
"False results gained from intimidation and sexual harassment," Tara said through gritted teeth.
"Tara, I know this situation's ugly, but what can we do? If this company was doing a bad job she'd attack me for that, but it's in tip-top shape, so she's grabbing at straws and thus attacking you," Willow sighed resignedly, "Damned if we do, damned if we don't."
"Wait, what did you say?"
"Damned if you...?" Willow said lifting up her hand questionably.
"No, no, before that," Tara said, her mind twisting and turning.
"Our company's in perfect shape?"
"Yes! Willow, what if it wasn't?"
"I said, she'd attack us for it," Willow said not understanding.
"Willow, I've got a plan," Tara said, "I need you and Buffy to meet me later today in your office, I've got to do some research," she began to unlock her fingers from Willow's hair, and start for the door.
"Wait! Tara! What are you talking about?"
"I'll explain later, get Buffy, i'll be back soon, just hold tight until i come back," Tara said resolutely.
She'll wish she lived with the Easter Bunny before the weeks end.
Hmm...strong words, strong words, Tara.....looks like this girls' got a plan...hmmm....hmm...now i gotta think it up...Damn! no, i'm kidding, i've got my idea already...truth is i just thought it up today...interesting...okay. thanks for reading!

Last night in sweet slumber I dreamed I did see my own precious jewel sat smiling by me.
And when I awakened I found it not so; my eyes like some fountain with tears overflowed.
