I went to BodyPump again yesterday. I'm starting to get a handle on what weights I should use but I still need more practice.

Miller - your ass bone must be better. Congrats on the red belt.

I went to Body Pump yesterday. The week has somewhat sucked in terms of workouts. Monday was a natural day off. Tuesday was period/cramps. Wed = Body Pump, Thurs = fucking tired, Fri = Body Pump. Today I should have gone to workout at 5:00 but my son decided to stay up until 11:30 last night and then wake up at 4:00. Argggh. So I ended up going in the afternoon which was the usual pain in the ass because my wife gets so testy about it.

Anyway: stair machine. 60 minutes. 306 flights. 6.39 miles. 692 calories. 179 (or something av hr.)

After a not-so-good week in terms of working out, I went to the gym this morning. I did the stair machine for 60 minutes: 308 flights, 6.42 miles. Then got on the elliptical but it quit after only 5 minutes so I took that as a sign and came home. Total: 779 calories, 170 av hr.

Now I think the family may go kayaking this afternoon.

Also, I really need to do something different with my diet to lose some weight. I've lost about 5 pounds this year but I'm so holding steady... I'm thinking of hard-core cutting cheese and white potatoes or something like that. Also considering doing Kitcherie breakfast for a while.

I went to Body Pump today. I plan to go and either spin or do cardio machines in the morning. I'm also working to seriously cut cheese and white potatoes from my diet in an attempt to make some progress on my weight goals.

Rach - LOL. I guess cheddar? I'm not an aficionado or anything. Just eat too much.

Today: wave machine 15 minutes 3.50 miles. Elliptical 45 minutes 3.57 miles 5400 steps. 551 calories. 141 av hr.

I joined Livestrong.com and I'm Debra2009 so friend me there if anyone else is tracking food & exercise there.

This morning I went 30 minutes on the wave machine for 8.65 km, then 30 on the elliptical for 2.37 miles, 3400 steps. Total of 560 calories or av hr 148.

I was kind of tired or tireder than I thought and my workout buddy (usually 2 days a week) is leaving for 2 weeks in Singapore in the morning so I'll be on my own.

I'm also tracking my food on Livestrong and I'm astounded at how carb heavy my diet is. Really. I need to eat more protein and even more fat I think. I want to lose 15 pounds more but it's just not coming off.

Huh. That long since I posted? I don't remember what I did the week before last. This most recent week has not been great for workouts through a combination of my kids not sleeping and my PMSing and stuff. My week has been:

Monday - Wave machine & elliptical for a total of an hour.
Friday - Stair machine 60 minutes. 320 flights.
Today - Stair machine 30 minutes - 100 flights. Elliptical 45 minutes. 5400 steps, 3.65 miles.

I've also been working on eating fewer starches and more protein and tracking my diet on Livestrong.com.

Best workout in ages. Getting out of heavy sweats into a muscle tee and shorts makes me feel more ripped (i.e., beginning to lose my winter gut ;-)) and best of all . . . no part of me was hurting today! :party

GG After a winter where it seemed my lower back was *chronically* "out" . . . and my legs, shoulders, foot or some other part of me was hurting. :rolleyes Out

Dang, and I'm only 47: what are my aches and pains going to be like after 50? :paranoid

Oh well, live for today:

Squats: 145 lbs.
Bench Press: 85 lbs.
Lat Pull: 75 lbs
Leg Curl: 35 lbs.
Shoulder Press: 75 lbs.
Bicep Curl (two-handed): 65 lbs.

...and finishing w/ Crunches and Grip-Strengtheners.

Hee, I couldn't help but imagine body pumping like those old Nike shoes that had the pumps on the tongue. Like the ones Achoo had in Robin Hood Men in Tights. If only it were that easy, right Deb? :P

Lol - those were great. And now I'm not sure about class because I thought I had a little nail to clip on my pinkie toe but my wife fixed it for me (yes, she does my toenails because I make a mess of them) and informed me that it's torn completely down the center and I'm afraid to screw it up worse.

Not a great workout week at all. Combination of:

Split toenail
Donated double unit of platelets
Got my period with all it entails and more
Got a stomach bug.

My stomach is still hurting every time I eat anything at all.

So 2 workouts: Tuesday Wave 22 minutes, Elliptical 40. Friday Elliptical 60 minutes.

Hopefully this week will be better.

My workouts have been pretty crummy lately. I had a stomach bug, thought I was over it, then got it again. So I worked out:

Last Tuesday - 15 minutes on the wave machine, 45 minutes on the elliptical.
Today - 20 minutes wave machine/3.65 miles. 45 minutes elliptical. 5600 steps. 3.38 miles.

Pretty slow but I made it through.

Nue - how about trying in small doses. Park farther from the mall, work, shop, whatever and walk a little bit. Get up at work and walk for 10 minutes... stuff like that and it will add up. Try it.

I did elliptical for an hour today. 7700 steps. 4.94 miles. 567 calories. 149 av hr. Felt good. Then I had acupuncture this afternoon for my allergies.

Today I did the wave machine but I actually had to switch machines in the middle because the first one wouldn't let me change levels. So i think that was 25 minutes and 4.8? miles? Something. Then to the elliptical for 35 minutes which was 4700 steps, 2.80 miles. My hr wasn't particularly high: 133 av hr and 484 calories. Probably should have pushed harder.

I went out this morning to ride with my brother and nephew. My brother is quite hard core but it was a 10 mile memorial ride for a friend of his who had a fatal heart attack while riding a few months ago. It was a really nice ride with probably 80 folks showing up, wearing armbands, ribbons on the bikes, signs throughout the route with "vernisms" etc. His wife, other relatives, and two small grand children rode. We went pretty slow because it was the farthest my nephew had ever ridden and I don't think he had much fun. For me, it was easy and I would have ridden faster but wanted to stay with the two of them.

Stats were 1:10 riding (rest stop in middle), 10 miles. 712 cal. 142 av hr.

It's my morning off. Monday I did the stair machine for 40 minutes: 178 floors, don't remember the miles. Then 20 on the elliptical which was like 1.7 miles or something.

Yesterday did the wave machine 30 minutes: 4.30 miles then Elliptical 30 minutes: 2.8? miles don't remember.

Yesterday I went to Body Pump class. There weren't many people there. I hadn't been to that class in a few months and did not feel like I did well. My form was bad enough that a girl who I don't know stepped over to give me pointers 3-4 times. And I felt weak. And I'm sore today. And worst of all: I could see myself in the mirror and felt like I looked fat. Blech.

Today I went for a bike ride this afternoon. It is fucking hot. Really. Unless you live someplace hot, you don't get what I'm saying. It's 96 out right now. I went to the grocery store and back. Didn't shop, just tested the ride. 45 minutes. About 7 miles. 442 calories. 160 av hr.
