The movie looks absolutely fantastic...although there seems to be way too much Storm for my liking. Hopefully there's just as much Phoenix!!!

Loving the addition of so many new X-men and BoM characters, where the first two movies were quite limited in scope, this is going to be huge. I can't wait until May!

I think the first two films were excellent, but reviews are coming for in for X:3 on www.aintitcoolnews.com - and they aren't looking too good. :(

http://www.thexverse.com/gallery.php?pa ... play_album

Whole TON (as in, like, 40) of new official photos :D (check page two as well, there's some more new ones there).

There's also a load of clips from the movie floating around the 'net atm, but I am being very self-restrained and dutifully avoiding them, as I think I've seen enough from the trailers and pics, and want the rest to be a surprise. Gosh, look how mature I sound. :D This is so unlike me, I am usually spoiler-queen!

Oh and the official X3 website had a huge update a few weeks ago, which I may or may not have posted about, so here's me telling anyone who hasn't seen it to go look now, cos it's fab. :-D http://www.x-menthelaststand.com/

Twisted Minstrel - the AICN review(s) is fake, thankfully. http://community.livejournal.com/x_men_ ... tml#cutid1

ONLY 11 DAYS!!! :bounce :bounce :bounce I've got my ticket booked already :-D and the other day I saw a poster of Magneto and the bus stop, and literally squealed, flapped my arms widly and dropped my bag, and everyone at the bus stop stared at me. :blush I am just so excited! Oh and I got Eulogy on DVD for my birthday so that's giving me my Famke-droolage until X3 is here. :x

OK I just got back from a preview screening of X3 and I have to say it was my favourite of the three. I am admittedly a bit of a geek when it comes to canon stories in the X-verse and certain things about the film niggled me greatly as they had done in the previous 2, but it was a very enjoyable popcorn movie with some excellent SFX and generally good performances. I can't say much else without spoiling the whole damn thing!
And Famke Janssen was just hot (pardon the pun hehehe)

PS. Tip: Stay until the end of the credits. There's a bit fans will no doubt want to see ;)

I was reading in a DVD magazine that there's only going to be 3 X-Men movies, then they're going to concentrate on spin-offs. I know there have been rumours of a Wolverine movie for some time now but I've not heard of any other spin-offs.

Watched the 2 o'clock showing (I love summer vacation) and IMHO it wasn't as good as the other 2 but then I am a huge Rogue fan and I think they did her a diservice in this movie...although on a side not Anna is growing up nicely :)

I always think of the movies as having such a gay theme to them really. I mean just exchanging the word mutant for homosexual seems very easy to do. I know if there was "a cure" for being gay though I wouldn't line up for it.
It seem pretty obvious from character losses that this was the last X-Men movie. I hated that Rogue went for the cure and didn't fight, it felt very out of character. Also Xavier's death was upsetting and rather graphic for a PG-13.
This movie was far and above the worst movie of the three just judging by the fact that I came out of it and thought 'that wasn't bad', whereas the first two were 'wow!'

The dialouge was cringeable and in many places the audience sniggered. It was not as funny as the other two.
I was not at all happy with the storyline they chose,
killing off so many characters and taking others in directions that they would very obviously not go in terms of the comic canon. Hello, Rogue getting the cure anyone? Major suck arse and they completely ruined the potential that that character could have, not to mention the fact that they underused her anyway.
In saying that, Famke Janssen was hot so I enjoyed her having a lot of screen time.

For Kittens going to see this movie, stay until the end credits finish. I heard that there was an additional scene after the end credits. I, unfortunately, did not realize this, and missed it.

I really liked this movie, contrary to a few others on here. I loved the Special effects in this movie. I was surprised through much ofthe movie with what they had done, which doesn't always happen with me. I might have to see this one again. To me, I the second one dragged on and on. I liked the brisk pace of this one.

It also helped that I didn't read any of the reviews. If I listened to the reviewers in my area, I never would have seen Titanic, Tomb Raider, or anything along that line. The critics (and I use the term loosely) in my area are horrible. They wouldn't know a good movie if it hit them over the head. :smash lol

Okay, I rambled on longer than I thought I would.

I saw this movie last night and I actually really enjoyed it. Probably mostly since I drooled over Famke the whole time, she is so frickin hot! She's now on my desktop! I was impressed with it but I don't really know the comic books. I was disappointed with a couple of the ways they took different characters but overall I really liked the movie. It was definately worth the money for me and I plan on seeing it again next week. Famke is so Hot! Just thought I'd clarify that for anyone who wonders...hehe ;-)

Leilani and I saw this last night, definatly not the best of the 3 films, I loved 2 because it really struck a chord with me.

It wasnt as bad as i feared but the end was a surprise, and shocking. We stayed till the end of the credits and yeah there is a scene so if you do go see it you must stay to the very end.

Not going to spoil it but its pretty neat.

I saw it on Thursday and have been desperately trying to post here, but keep getting internal server error. :crash For some reason it's not letting me post my review (well, incoherent ramblings would be more accurate) here directly, so I'll link you to what I posted on the Xverse forum here (I've got one post at the top and one at the bottom of the first page in the thread). Mega spoiler, obviously.

Quick summary, for those of you who don't want to wade through my long winded thoughts -
I loved it, though I didn't quite meet my (very high) expectations. It would have been the best film by far if they'd given Cyclops some respect, but as they didn't I'll have to say that I was disappointed. I loved most other aspects though, especially the Phoenix plot. So, overall, I'd say not as good as X2 but better than X1. Thumbs up.
I have actually seen it three times now, and Famke just gets hotter and hotter. :drool

Oh, and X4 has supposedly been confirmed :-D (and the Wolverine movie is definitely confirmed, and I'm fairly certain the Magneto one is too)

I thought it was crazy to only make 3 movies when they're so popular, but I wonder where they'll take the story next considering how different X3 seems to be from the comics. I don't know what happens to Magneto in X3 but a Magneto movie sounds interesting.

Spoiler for the comics :
Spoiler:
In the comics he becomes headmaster of Xavier's school for a time.

Saw X3 on Memorial Day and I thought it was good. Not as good as X2 but as good as X1. It certainly met my lowered expectations (w/o Singer). I like that they had some really significant events happen and some real changes to characters/situations. Fox is planning more X-men movies but this trilogy is definitely done. Upcoming is a Wolverine movie and I've heard also a Magneto movie. There are so many X-men in the comics that they can pretty much make movies forever with this unlimited cast. We have yet to see Gambit for instance.

I'm happy that the trilogy kept the quality up even without Singer and Kelsey Grammer is great as the beast. I liked seeing more of Kitty Pryde, Colossus and Storm (criminally underused in the first two IMHO). Everyone one had a nice bit in this movie which was definitely much much more of an ensemble piece. My sentimental fav is X1 because I liked the focus on Wolverine and Rogue but there is no way to focus on so few characters in X2 and X3. Kudos to Brett Ratner for a good flick. I t must have been hard with all the pressure.

The movie is doing gang busters at the Box Office:
http://www.boxofficeguru.com/weekend.htm
Blasting past expectations, the third X-Men film dominated the scene grossing $122.9M over the long weekend, according to final studio figures, from an ultrawide 3,690 venues. The Fox sequel averaged a jaw-dropping $33,296 over four days and set a new record for Memorial Day weekend beating two previous giants. Steven Spielberg's The Lost World held the opening record for this holiday with $92.7M over four days (including Thursday night previews) in 1997 while Shrek 2 held the record for the biggest overall gross for the frame when it brought in $95.6M while in its second weekend in 2004. Last Stand's gross, which included roughly $5.9M from the first midnight shows on Thursday night, easily crushed both figures to claim the new record.

I totally loved X3. A little too much action, and a little too much Storm (although I can see how they were trying to make up for previous lack of screentime).
I liked how we knew early on that The Cure wasn't permanent--after seeing Beast's hair on his hand grow back, I realized it was a higher amount of Rogue's style of power, but he couldn't gain anything from the others losing the power. While as a Rogue fan I wasn't happy she took the Cure, they worked hard at making us understand why she did--she's still young and not being able to touch anyone is a significant inconvenience. Plus, it's not permanent (even though she thinks it is).

I'm speculating that the reason they spent so little time on two of the deaths has to do with a question of permanency. The little scene at the end told us about the third.

Dark Phoenix ROCKS :-)

I wouldn't worry:
http://www.boxofficeguru.com/weekend.htm
Subsequent weeks should stabilize a bit, but based on its trajectory, the third X-Men film looks to be headed to a domestic tally of $230-240M which would still make it the biggest hit of the trilogy.

I would agree with you on that. I f you look at the context, it set a record box office last weekend, so even that steep drop gave it a good second weekend. After all The Break Up only beat it by a few million overall. It will play in theatres for a while and clean up on dvd, so I'm sure no one at the studio is concerned.

I finally saw the movie on the weekend, and I liked it. I pretty much agree with what has been said before here about the film, and I particularly liked Ellen Page as Kitty/Shadowcat. Let's hope if there is another film, or an offshoot for Wolverine, that she is featured in it.
