my brother's girlfriend got into a dispute he and i were having recently about our mom (i asked him to help her out a bit financially since it's all been on me as of late) and sent me some very out of line emails. i didn't like her much to begin with and that really cemented it. i was so pissed that i was glad they live 3k miles away or there might have been a brawl. okay, not really, i'm a lover not a fighter. but i was ripshit about the whole thing.

is there someone in your family who you are just mystified about being related to?

Actually, there are one or two people I'm mystified about being related to. No good lazy layabouts with the desire to do nothing except sponge of their mother. :happy

My car broke, so my dad towed me the 7 miles home. No joke, it was absolutely the most petrified I have ever been.

In answer to new ruth's question (*smirk*).

I was at home... I think I was 10 or 11. I'm thinking 5th grade for some reason. I had just come home... and saw my younger brother kind of peaking into my folks' room through the cracked open door. I asked him what he was doing and he shushed me... and then I realized that my parents were probably... *shudder*.

Needless to say I tore him away from his peeking immediately.

Who was your first love? Did they love you back? Did you ever get over them or are you still heartbroken? ...or better yet, are you still together?

My first love was a highschool boyfriend. I think he loved me back in his 17 year old boy way. And he broke my little heart. I agonized and pined for a suitable period and then began the getting over. We maintained a tense friendship for a few years after because I thought that was what you were supposed to do and then we just lost touch. He's a decent guy though. I'm glad to have known him.
And then love redifined itself for me completely when I met my wife. And she does love me back. And we are still together. I have known and loved her now for 8 years and it continues to get better. I consider myself blessed beyond measure.

Ah, it was a silly thing - my old boarding school had this story that it was haunted. So once a year the seniors would dress up like this ghost and go round trying to spook the underclassmen(women-whatever).

So friends and I caught wind of this the night it was supposed to happen and also dressed up. I remember waiting behind a door for just the right moment, stepping out in to the hallway just as a senior turned the corner, and then pursuing her as she ran screaming down the hallway. She made it down a set of stairs and I was laughing so hard I ended up simply curled on the floor at the top of the stairs, howling. I have this distinct memory of her turning to look up the stairs at me, having realized what was going on, and this look of pure spite crossing her face.

Oh, t'was beautiful.

Have you ever pulled a prank and never 'fessed up or claimed credit - simply enjoyed the repurcussions silently?

That would have to be the night that I had a quite graphic dream involving one of my good friends who I had just come out to. The unfortunate part was she was sharing the room with me and only 2-3 feet away from me. I never got up the courage to ask her if I was talking in my sleep or not. I was quite scared of the answer. And the whole next day I kept having flashbacks to my dream. Hot but torturous.

That would have to be my suprise birthday getaway to Las Vegas, orchestrated by my partner and executed by all my close friends. Thought I was going to be taken to a birthday lunch on Friday, and ended up getting whisked to the airport in a limo full of my friends to spend the weekend in a Penthouse Suite at the Mirage. Our maid of honor also planned the bachelorette party that week, so it was a double whammy. Easily the most exciting/thrilling thing that's happened to me.

My first and only pet really is my dog Suzy. We adopted her when she was 2 months old at the same time her sister got a adopted. She's 10 years old now and graying. We think she's a mixture between a German Shepherd and a Rat Terrier, but we're not quite sure. She's so chubby and spoiled but the nicest dog ever. Also the laziest. Her pastimes include walking over me, sitting on me, eating my food, sleeping, eating, grabbing her leash and running around the house with it as a "subtle" indication that she wishes to go out. But despite all her dogginess, she's so nice and warm to cuddle with. She's dumb as a rock but sometimes it's almost as if she's reading your mind. And well, I miss her lots.

Right now I favor the Pilot G2 07 roller-ball ink pen, usually in black. I like the rubber grip and the easy way the ink comes out. It's a fine point so the lines aren't too big, but they're not miniscule either. I've gone through cycles of what pens I like; this has been the preferred pen for about 9 months.

If you could get a million dollars tax-free, but you had to live inside your house or apartment for one year and never go outside to win the money, would you do it?

Yes, provided I have my laptop, wifi and am allowed to receive visitors / deliveries. Also, I don't need to work or any of those pesky inconveniences of life.

Now that you've won that million dollars, what will you do with it?

The million dollar question!

The answer:
1. invest at 2/3 of it so I have something to live off of for many many years... so I can have more time to travel and to work less (but not stop alltogether - 'cause that would be to boring)

2. Pay off my student loans.

3. Put money aside for my nieces to use for college so that *they* don't get strapped with huge student loans.

4. Pay off my siblings' student loans

4. Build an art studio. *sigh* one that's all fire proof and has lots of light and ventilation....oooh and casting equipment and maybe a kiln and some forging stuff and use all my new studio space to make my back yard into a crazy sculpture space.

5. Travel at least once a year

6. Make house repairs/upgrades - like adding a fan to the upstairs bathroom and building a deck/adding a 2nd bathroom and maybe even building a garage or a 1st floor laundry room (or both).

7. School -- Like maybe take some classes to learn something cool and creative like Maya or glass blowing or Spanish or Guitar (I dunno, whatever strikes my fancy)... and probably go get my phd now that I wouldn't have the 'I can't afford it' excuse.

Question:
If you could selectively choose to get rid of one thing in your life with no reprocussions, what would it be.
I am, you know.

Probably my roommate. He's not someone I'd choose to hang out with otherwise and we don't have a lot in common. Add into that the fact that he wants my girlfriend as his girlfriend, and now he's my enemy. If I could get rid of him, I would. I'll settle for humiliating him every once in a while, which isn't hard to do.

What type of communication with strangers (phone, in person, et cetera) do you prefer and why?

A nice, ice cold MOJITO

3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda

In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint, and serve.

What's your favorite "mom cooked" meal?

Without a doubt, the favorite "mom-cooked" meal would have to be her Potato Soup. It's too thick to be a soup. We're talking potatoes, carrots, ham, bacon, garlic, salt, pepper, celery...it's like Lucky Charms..."Magically delicious."

If you could only keep one materialistic item in your house, what would it be and why?

This is an interesting question because it isn't easy. My answer would be The Talking Mickey Mouse and the introductory tape ( That would still be considered as *one* because he came with it originally) My reason would be because he was the first real toy that influnced my life.

"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world." ~ Anonymous

This is the quote I remember the most from my childhood. I think it actually came off of one of those Quote of the Day calendars. Although, I think I remember it because it one of those things you can think about when you are having a bad day. It somehow just brightens your day to think it. *** A little sidenote*** I was actually going to use this as my signature, but someone had already used it.

I always thought my answer to this question would be no. That was untill someone asked me. So my answer would now be yes, at some point, but she would have to be very special.

Something that expresses my inner dork? Does owning almost every banned book count? If not, I'm teaching myself HTML formatting, or if it needs to be something more visible, I might be the clumsiest person I know. Most folks fall down the steps- I fall up them, especially when there are people watching...lol.

It's hard to just pick one thing that shows my inner dork.
