so, I got a tattoo last friday...

I know most of you won't really care, since I tend to lurk a lot and not post, but I'm awfully proud of it, so I wanna show it to as many people as I can. So, without further ado, here it goes:















I was so nerveous to get it (i'm a total whimp when it comes to pain), but the tattoo lady was so nice and funny and friendly, and totally calmed me down. It didn't hurt that much either in the end, to my big surprise.

I actually might consider getting a tattoo one day. I'd want one on my arm. I'm definitely going to wait for now though. I want to grow some muscles first, if I get a tattoo now and inflate my arms later, it would probably end up looking very silly, depending on what the tattoo is about of course, heh.



My brother has tattoos on his lower arms and after having them for 28 years they have faded considerably but they still look cool. Edit: whoops forgot all about the compliment, I get forgetful when I am talking about my favourite subject, namely myself . Nice tattoo, simple yet lovely.

I don't have a picture to share but I do have a tattoo of Tigger (no big surprise there) on my left shoulder blade. I had always wanted one, so on my 31st birthday I went ahead and did it. It was painful but also great fun and I really like how it turned out. I'm considering getting another. I think I'd like to have a small scorpion but haven't found one I really like and have no idea where I'd like to place it, though I've had some interesting suggestions.

Nice tattoo, OneFly. I would agree that you’re a brave soul to have it that close to your collarbone; I think it would hurt too much to go through with it. I don’t have any tattoos, hence no pictures. I never really considered having one because I can’t think of anything I would want to advertise by having it permanently painted on my body. Plus I’m not real crazy about the whole pain aspect of tattooing. I did accompany a couple of my female shipmates to a tattoo parlor while they had a butterfly and a rose tattoo done, but I declined to join in.



Tiggr, I hope you find a scorpion you like. You could always have it placed on your ankle, or is that suggestion not interesting enough?

I am not a big fan of pain but for some reason tattoo's and piercings don't really phase me. I have 3 tat's so far. Two different celtic trible pieces on each of my wrists and chinese letters on my back. The ones on the wrists were a tad uncomfy, but other then that, it wasn't so bad. As someone said though, they are addictive. I'm getting 2 more next week!

Well, the first one I got was actually from a movie, "Foxfire." It's the fire tattoo that Legs (Angelina Jolie) tattoos on herself and her friends. You can see it Here. If you click on that, beware of nipple alert. YUM!!



Oh, my tattoo was done in the same place. I have alot of reasons for getting it. Alot of personal reasons that I don't want to go into right now.



The second one I got is on my left arm above my bicep. It's a black and gray picture of Jesus wearing the crown of thorns. If I had some pics, I'd show you.



I have one more. It's on my right arm above my bicep. It's a memorial tattoo. There's a purple bear holding a heart with some flowers around it. There's rainbow coloring around the memorial itself. There's also the form of a cross in the background. It might sound like a big one or alot, but it's really not. It's not very big. Medium sized maybe.



I want to get one more. Something to honor Melissa Etheridge, she's my hero. Not sure what I want yet.

I have to agree with what Imperfectly Me said, tattoos are addictive. I currently have 5 of them.

I really enjoy the pain that accompanies getting a tattoo. It has a calming affect on me that last for weeks. I got my first tattoo 6 years ago and I’ve yet to spend one day regretting any of them.

I’d show ya’ll some pictures but that would require me to take pictures of myself so I’ll just have to describe them.



All of them are inked in black cause I’ve never been one for bright colours and all of them were created by me (I’m not artistic but I do consider myself unique and somewhat creative)

I have an anklet, a cross on my shin, Celtic band interlaced with ying-yang & Gemini symbols on my calf, a roman numeral “13” on my inner arm and a sun on my upper arm (of which my sister has as well but hers is in colour).

My next tattoo is going to go on the inside of my wrist but I have yet to decide what it’s going to be.

Funny, I was just thinking of starting a thread like this the other day. I have 2 myself. Wish I had pictures but I don't. I have a celtic knot on my upper back and on the outside of my right ankle I have a double female sign joined with a heart. The female signs are not just the regular straight lines and circle though. It's kinda curvy and both have a little sprig of hair on top. It's pretty cute. I really want another celtic knot somewhere but I haven't decided where yet.

Jenn, thanx...I got it cuz I'm pretty obsessed with all things celestial and what not...I like the sun, moon, starts..blah blah, I even have glow in the dark stars in my blue bathroom (don't ask)...I had a few designs but decided on this one I found on the net (for now)...the sun tat originally had a pink triangle in the middle...didn't like the way it looked so I Adobe'd it out..*chuckle* filled in the rest. the colors are supposed to curve and fade in and out into each other but the artist screwed it up and separated each color with a thin black line instead...grr



my gf's tat is original...she loves the violin, never really got very far in her lessons. she also likes tribal...with a few other ideas she went with the violin with the fingerboard turning into the upper handle for the labrys, the bottom violin peg into a spear-head..the background tribal....she absolutely loves it...



we both got them Halloween morning 2001, she ended up lying down on the floor...for a moment we all thought she fainted..lol



we're thinking of getting another...still working on the images..

I have 4 tattoo's and I love them. Got them done in March. 3 in one day...a small circle on the back of my rt hand near the wrist between the thumb and the forefinger meaning no endings without beginnings and vice versa, in the same spot on the left is a diamond shaped symbol (Ing) meaning successful competion of all things, and on my rt forearm is a Hexagram from the I-ching #14 Ta Yu-Prosperity/Universal abundance and it's 4 solid lines-1 broken-1 solid. I love it. The next day I went and got a yin and yang symbol on the left forearm. I want more, but I don't know what yet or where. I'm good for now. And I like the whole experience of getting tattoo'd, the needle, the slight pain during and tenderness after while keeping them clean. The yin and yang hurt the worst, different artist and also I think maybe all my endorphins were used up the day before..sorry such a long post and sorry no pictures.
