What was the name of that TV show/movie again?

Postby Warduke » Fri Sep 10, 2004 10:51 pm

Everyone has a TV show/movie that you (kinda) remember from (not necessarily) a long time ago but you just can’t remember the name of. You might remember an actor, the plotline, when it was on, but you just can’t remember what it was called.

The best place to start searching is IMDb. This is the best site for looking up any movie or TV show that has ever been made. But the problem is that sometimes, you just don’t remember enough details of the TV show/movie you’re looking for, so this thread is for fellow Kittens to try and help you out.

I’ll go first…

I think this show was on in the early to mid eighties and only lasted one season (if that). It was something like Tales from the Crypt. I do remember something having to do with a red light (like in a dark room) in the opening sequence of the show. I remember a few episodes in particular, one being a Vietnam vet fighting his sons toy soldiers in a barn. They came to life and attacked him. The other was about some old lady, a kid and a cat. It had something to do with the line, cat got your tongue. It ended with the cat actually taking the kid's tongue.

Anyone remember this?

Warduke: Could it be Amazing Stories, the 1985-87 NBC anthology series produced by Steven Spielberg? It's playing on the SciFi channel this month.

That guy and the toys coming to life sounds real familiar. You sure it wasn´t tales from the crypt? Thanks, I hate not remembering something familiar. It bugs the hell out of me.

Edited to add: Sam beat me to a post by a few seconds. You´re forgiven as you are sparing me a headache. That has got to be the show.

Nope, it wasn't Amazing Stories, I was a fan of that show too. Wasn't Tales from the Crypt or Tales from the Darkside either.

Are you really really sure it wasn´t Amazing Stories or are you deliberately trying to give me a headache. :mad

Just check out the link Sam posted. You'll see an episode guide and no sign of any episodes I described.

ooh great thread.

I've got one.

This was on maybe 10 years ago or so. I think it was on CBS.

All I can remember is that it was about these 2 people that died and ended up at this diner. Their job was to help other souls that came to the diner. I know its not a lot, but any help would be appreciated.

I remember a cartoon that I saw when I was little. I think it was Japanese, but I'm not sure.

There were three spacecraft that combined to form a big robot. I think part of the plot involved trying to find a pilot for the third craft.

Two scenes stand out: in one two robots are fighting and one draws a pair of axes and throws them at the other. In the second scene, a businessman is sitting at a desk talking to an employee and then the businessman turns into a demon. I think he had a red face and a thick mane. The employee screams and runs. I think the demon's name started with a 'P'.

Any idea what it could be?
