Lilo & Stitch!

Postby maudmac » Thu Apr 10, 2003 4:10 pm

Aloha! Since so many of us love this movie and talk about it incessantly, we thought maybe it ought to have its own thread.

I haven't seen a movie I loved as much as I love Lilo & Stitch in a loooong time. I can watch it over and over and not only does it never get old, but I notice all kinds of new things, too.

"Lilo & Stitch"!!!!! :bounce :bounce :bounce

I love it, it's so cute and funny and adorable!! :)

Now Holley, since you obviously master the subject, you have to write an essay about the blatant gayness of every character in this cartoon! :p

:lol Christine, Kathy and I figured it all out one day. We dissected every single character and determined that the only straight characters are Lilo and Nani's parents.

sparrow, you're so right about the 'ohana message. That really gets me. It pushes my buttons in a big way and I always cry when Stitch is sitting all night in that clearing. "I'm lost!" :cry :cry :cry

Lilo & Stitch is great! When I first saw the commercials I was like "agh, bad kid Disney Movie..." But then some friends forced me to come and watch it with me. And it made me laugh, and cry, and it was soooooo goddamn cute!!! I have to buy that movie...

Great idea for a thread Holley.

I watched this movie because Kathy couldn't stop gushing about it :blush and boy, was she ever right :grin

This is one of my favorite movies, I watch it all the time. I think only my LOTR DVD has seen more action than my L&S DVD :lol

It's funny, sweet, cute and just plain great, if you haven't seen it, I cannot recommend it enough.

Lilo & Stitch! :applause One of the best movies ever!

Okay, question: favorite character? Well, probably have to go with Stitch on that one, because he's the best and so cute, but aside from Stitch, maybe, favorite character? I think I'd say Lilo because you just have to love Lilo, taking a peanut butter sandwich to feed a fish every day and biting a girl who made fun of her. I mean, come on. :laugh

Okay, that's my contribution for now. :)

I am in love with Lilo and Stitch! I'm always quoting it. When I went to Florida a month ago I annoyed the hell out of my friend by going "Hello, are there any aminals in here?" every time we walked into our room. Does anyone own the talking Stitch? If you don't you all need to go get him. Cutest.Toy.Ever.

My sister kept talking about this movie and kept telling me to see it. She said she watches it with my nephew all the time. It's on pay-per-view now and I keep meaning to get it. I think this thread convinced me to see it. :D

Ok, I hold my hand in the air, we have the talking Stitch! We also have way too many other Stitch bits that inhabit the bungalow! We loved this film, Stitch of course being our favourite. We just managed to get a large cut-out celebrating the release of the video over here in the UK. Though what we are supposed to do with a large wave with Lilo and Stitch on a surf board I'll never know! If you're lucky enough to be State's side, Disney had a Halloween Stitch complete with Dracula teeth and a cape!

I loved the 'inter-Stitch-als" where Stitch appeared with other Disney characters in the trailers. We will never see "Beauty and The Beast" without looking up at the ceiling to see if Stitch is skittering in the chandelier!!

The best bit? I can do his voice! "itta bitta bah", good job my sweetheart loves me!!

Am I like..the only one who didn't understand this movie? And was it just me, or did they show a lot of the older sister's bikini line???

Lilo and Stitch! :bounce

How do I love this movie? Ahhhhhh so much!

Everyone's gay but the parents? Do tell!

I also pinged a little bit when I was watching the "making of" stuff on the dvd. At one point one of the crew calls the director "honey" and then there's a little bit being flustered and they just say to not go there. Something like that... It was very cute. :grin So... yeah. Big Gay Movie! Making your own family and believing in yourself. Good. Yeah, still good.

;)

Love this movie.

And as for not understanding the movie, I'm not quite sure what that means. And bikini line? Ummmmm, if you mean stomach, then yeah. Lots of stomach. Plus all that surfing. Nani has excellent thighs!

OMG...I loved this movie! I only watched it for the first time last week. I didn't get to see it in the theatres, so two weeks ago I went and bought the DVD because everyone I've talked to said how great and funny it was.

I have to say this movie ranks as one of the top Disney movies on my list. Stitch and Lilo are the cutest things ever! The "My dog found the chainsaw" line had me rolling! And, amen to biting the girl who made fun of Lilo. I did that once...when I was little, geez!

Whew!

Nani's hot? Why yes, she is! Of course there's also the whole Tia Carrere thing. ;) Schwing?

And *cough*JessicaRabbit*cough*

What's the movie about? A lonely, naughty, misunderstood, and adorable little girl in Hawaii. And a very naughty space alien. Hijinks ensue.

As for everyone being gay, I'm still waiting to hear arguments. ;)

I love this movie to pieces. I haven't enjoyed a movie this much for years and years. It stands up to repeated viewings like nobody's business. :heart

Here is a short list to give an idea of why damn near everyone in this movie is gay. This was all Holley's idea, by the way.

  • Lilo - gay because she likes gross things and bit that other girl
  • Nani - gay because she wears boots in Hawaii and she is not into David at all
  • Stitch - gay because he just is and he hulas
  • Cobra Bubbles - gay because he has an earring, fancy shoes and he just is
  • Jumba and Agent Pleakley - gay because they are soooooooo a couple
  • David - gay because of his Fancy Hair(TM)
  • Rescue Lady - gay because she was about to give Nani a job just based off looks
  • Animal Shelter Lady - obviously gay

Ah yes I love this movie.

I recently found out that my girlfriend hadn't seen this movie. She also hadn't seen Spirit so I went out and rented both, making a cartoon movie night. I love to hear her laugh and thanks to this wonderful little film she was giggling all the way through.

It is definately one of the best animated movies to come out in a looong time.

So I guess Nani's a fag hag then? ;) She did write in her diary that she likes David's butt and fancy hair. I think that goes either way. ;)

I like how the lady at the shelter is obviously gay. heheheheh

In dance class we had to coreograph stuff and one girl hulaed to the opening hula. . . I had to work so hard to keep from jumping up and down. OH! And she's doing the student works, so I get to dance to it too!

I first saw the movie when I bought the DVD to send to my Girl for Christmas. . . I ended up opening it and watching it forst, after her insistance, and loved it so much that my mother ran out and got it for me for Christmas, since I was so sad that I had to send it off.

I went to Disneyland to see the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion, and then was lucky enough to get to see Stitch at California Adventure. It was funny, becuase the character costumes for both Lilo and Stitch are tiny - as you can see in some of the pictures on that webpage. Sixth paragraph.

For Valentines' Day, I got a stuffed Stitch doll with a heart pinned to his belly. I sleep with him every night.

I am so jealous that you actually got to meet Stitch! I went to Magic Kingdom in March and he wasn't there that day. :sob I was nagging employees at the park all day and going up to them and asking if he was there that day and nobody knew. Finally one person knew and she talked to me like I was four and said, "No, Stitch isn't here today. He's over at MGM and I heard he's causing some trouble there!"

I'm sorry I bit you...and pulled your hair...and punched you in the face...- Lilo

I got to meet stitch last weekend when I went to Disneyland with my nieces and nephew. My nephew who had been scared to pose with anyone , ran calling, "stitch," "stitch." They have these "autograph sessions" now for most of the characters. So stitch appeared in a spot at the entrance of adventure land. Maybe I"ll post a picture later :grin

ok.

I love this movie too!

I love the scene where Stich comes out of wreck of his stolen cruiser and laughs like maniac. I love Cobra Bubbles. And I crackup at Stich grabbing the gas truck.

The part that really gets to me is Stich and Nani's "Ohana" scene.

I love that.

Above all, my favorite scene is where Lilo is talking about Scrump and the other girls run off. Why? Weel I was watching it again (like the 12th time that week) with my son. He asked "why was Lilo sad?" I told him that the other girls didn't want to play with her. He said. "That is so sad. If she were my friend I would play with her. I would say 'here come over and play in the sand with me.'"

I gave him a great big hug and a kiss. Then he wanted the see the scene with that "crazy dog from space" (Stich).

Great thread.

Fave scenes from the movie?

The whole montage of Nani's job-search which coincides with Lilo's attempts at teaching Stitch to emulate The King. When they start dancing I just crack up!
