I also quite liked that Belleville song, the best of the night I thought. And that's despite the fact that I love Alison Krauss, have always liked Annie Lennox and thought Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara did a great job. And I have no idea what that damn thing Sting was pretending to play could be, except maybe a hurdy-gurdy as you guessed. I dimly recall seeing someone at a folk festival playing something similar.
For me the high points were Barbarian Invasions winning, the Jack Black-Will Farrell song, the Blake Edwards tribute, seeing Bill Murray present Lost In Translation, and seeing Scarlett Johannson and Angelina Jolie looking so beautiful. Loved the Adrien Brody breath freshener gag too. Low point was Bill Murray losing - I actually booed the screen, which is pathetic really - and the fact that it took them a damn hour to give out the second award.
My main reason for posting though is to see if anyone saw the Indie Spirit awards. I thought they were great last year, missed them this year and all I've heard is that Lost In Translation did great and Charlize won. Were there any good political speeches like last year? Was John Waters funny?
