well here are a bunch that i think are fitting

BECAUSE I KNEW YOU (Wicked the musical)

i think this is an amazing song that decribes willow and tara very well...here are the lyrics

ELPHABA

I'm limited:

Just look at me - I'm limited

And just look at you -

You can do all I couldn't do, Glinda

So now it's up to you

(spoken) For both of us

(sung) Now it's up to you:

GLINDA

I've heard it said

That people come into our lives for a reason

Bringing something we must learn

And we are led

To those who help us most to grow

If we let them

And we help them in return

Well, I don't know if I believe that's true

But I know I'm who I am today

Because I knew you:

Like a comet pulled from orbit

As it passes a sun

Like a stream that meets a boulder

Halfway through the wood

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?

But because I knew you

I have been changed for good

ELPHABA

It well may be

That we will never meet again

In this lifetime

So let me say before we part

So much of me

Is made of what I learned from you

You'll be with me

Like a handprint on my heart

And now whatever way our stories end

I know you have re-written mine

By being my friend:

Like a ship blown from its mooring

By a wind off the sea

Like a seed dropped by a skybird

In a distant wood

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?

But because I knew you:

GLINDA

Because I knew you:

BOTHI have been changed for good

ELPHABA

And just to clear the air

I ask forgiveness

For the things I've done you blame me for

GLINDA

But then, I guess we know

There's blame to share

BOTH

And none of it seems to matter anymore

GLINDA ELPHABA

Like a comet pulled Like a ship blown

From orbit as it Off it's mooring

Passes a sun, like By a wind off the

A stream that meets Sea, like a seed

A boulder, half-way Dropped by a

Through the wood Bird in the wood

BOTH

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?

I do believe I have been changed for the better?

GLINDA

And because I knew you:

ELPHABA

Because I knew you:

BOTH

Because I knew you:

I have been changed for good.

JUST FOR THIS MOMENT (Wicked the musical)

ELPHABA

Kiss Me too fiercely

Hold me too tight

I need help beliving

You're with me tonight

My wildest dreams

Could not forsee

Lying beside you

With you wanting me

And just for this moment

As long as you're mine

I've lot all resistance

And crossed some boarderline

And if it turnes out

It's over too fast

I'll make every last moment last

As long as you're mine

FIYERO

Maybe I'm brainless

Maybe I'm wise

But you've got me seeing

Though different eyes

Somehow I've fallen

Under your spell

And somehow I'm feeling

It's up that I fell

BOTH

Every moment

As long as you're mine

I'll wake up my body

And make up for lost time

FIYERO

Say there's no future

For us as a pair

BOTH

And though I know I may know

I don't care

Just for this moment

As long as you're mine

Come be how you want to

And see how bright we shine

Borrow the moonlight

Until it is though

And know I'll be here holding you

As long as you're mine

FIYERO

(spoken)

What is it?

ELPHABA

(spoken)

It's just for the first time,

I feel ... wicked

REMEMBER ME THIS WAY (dont remember singer)

Every now and then

We find a special friend

who never lets us down...

Who understands it all

reaches out each time we fall

you're the best friend i have found...

I know you can't stay

a part of you will never ever go away

your heart will stay.....

I'll make a wish for you,

and hope it will come true,

if life will just be kind,

to such a gentle mind,

if you lose your way,

think back on yesturday

remember me this way,

remember me this way.

I don't need eyes to see

the love you bring to me,

no matter where I go

and I know that you'll be there

forever-more a part of me and everywhere

I'll always care.....

I'll make a wish for you

and hope it will come true,

if life will just be kind,

to such a gentle mind,

and if you lose your way

think back on yesturday

remember me this way,

remember me this way.

and I'll be right behind your shoulder, watching you

I'll be standing by your side, all you do

and I won't ever leave

as long as you believe,

you just believe....

I'll make a wish for you

and hope it will come true

if life will just be kind

to such a gentle mind

and if you lose your way

think back on yesterday

remember me this way

remember me this way.

I DONT WANT TO BE ME Amanda Clemmens

I'm not feeling so bold

Can't you see I don't want to grow old

And my photograph's an epitaph of parody

I don't want to be me

I'm not feeling so sure

It would help if you offered a cure

If I wait, it's too late for the remedy

I don't want to be me

You won't save me

Cuz I'm not the fortunate one

So don't blame me

If I decide to go hide or instead to just run

I'm not feeling so well

Maybe we could just sit for a spell

And make amends, it depends on my injury

I don't want to be me

I don't want to be me

I don't want to be me

You won't save me

Cuz I'm not the fortunate one

So don't blame me

If I decide to just run

You won't save me

Cuz I'm not the fortunate one

So don't blame me

If I decide to go hide or instead to just run

If I decide to go hide or instead to just run

If I decide to go hide or instead to just run

I have a bunch more i'll post later

I've got quite a few songs that remind me of W/T. One of my favorites is "I Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Melanie Doane, which is the song that's playing when W/T are dancing at the end of "Family." Here's a few more. (I linked the song title to the lyrics for you.)

I Grieve by Peter Gabriel

To Where You Are by Josh Groban

Cannonball by Damien Rice

The next one kind of fits for me during the time Willow and Tara were having troubles in S6. I even wrote a fic themed around it.

The Space Between Us by Melanie Doane

Speak of love

In a warm embrace

Speak of hope

In a smiling face

Speak of peace

In the stars up there

Speak of faith

In a silent prayer

But when I’m speakin’ to you

And you’re speakin’ to me

Things get complicated

When you’re speakin’ to me

And I’m speakin’ to you

Voices are isolated

Words just push the air around

Gotta find some common ground

In the space between us

Speak of fear

That has no name

Speak of hate

That seeks to blame

Speak of pain

Behind each wall

Speak of death

That touches us all

But when I’m speakin’ to you

And you’re speakin’ to me

There’s so much frustration

When you’re speakin’ to me

And I’m speakin’ to you

No communication

Words of fear

Words of rage

Break the bars of this cage

In the space between us

But when I’m speakin’ to you

And you’re speakin’ to me

Things get complicated

And you’re speakin’ to me

And I’m speakin’ to you

Voices are isolated

Words just push the air around

Gotta find some common ground

In the space between us

In the space between us

Out of all the music videos I have of them together, I have to say "Kissing You" by Des'ere. I'm sure someone has posted it already, but it's such a beautiful song and it just reminds me of them together:blush

"She and Willow are both witches. They do spells and stuff, which is so much cooler than slaying. I told Mom one time I wished they'd teach me some of the things they do together. And then she got really quiet and made me go upstairs. -Dawn

I dunno if these have been sed yet but i think

taking over me by evanescence during their break up period

you don't remember me but i remember you

i lie awake and try so hard not to think of you

but who can decide what they dream?

and dream i do...

i believe in you

i'll give up everything just to find you

i have to be with you to live to breathe

you're taking over me

have you forgotten all i know

and all we had?

you saw me mourning my love for you

and touched my hand

i knew you loved me then

i believe in you

i'll give up everything just to find you

i have to be with you to live to breathe

you're taking over me

i look in the mirror and see your face

if i look deep enough

so many things inside that are just like you are taking over

i believe in you

i'll give up everything just to find you

i have to be with you to live to breathe

you're taking over me

i believe in you

i'll give up everything just to find you

i have to be with you to live to breathe

you're taking over me

Taking over me

Your Taking Over Me

Taking over me

Taking over me

i also think first date by blink 182 during season 4 when they first met.

In the car I just can't wait

To pick you up on our very first date

Is it cool if I hold your hand?

Is it wrong if I think it's lame to dance?

Do you like my stupid hair?

Would you guess that I didn't know what to wear?

I'm just scared of what you think

You make me nervous so I really can't eat.

Let's go

Don't wait

This nights almost over

Honest, let's make this night last forever.

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

When you smile, I melt inside

I'm not worthy for a minute of your time

I really wish it was only me and you.

I'm jealous of everybody in the room.

Please don't look at me with those eyes

Please don't hint that you're capable of lies

I dread the thought of our very first kiss

A target that I'm probably gonna miss

Let's go

Don't wait

This nights almost over

Honest, let's make this night last forever.

Forever and ever

Let's make this last forever

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

Let's go

Don't wait

This nights almost over

Honest, let's make this night last forever.

Forever and ever

Let's make this last forever

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

Forever and ever. Let's make this last forever

"Soul Asylum" by The Cult...it's just this big, epic, hypnotic, powerful, nd emotional sounding song. The lyrics don't look much, but you have to hear them in the context of the song (Astbury does a great job with 'em). Kinda makes me think of Tara being Willow's saviour and stuff like that.

Who would break a butterfly on the wheel?

Not me, my precious child

Sweet angel wrap me in your velvet cloak, my dear

Love's a sweet warm goddess I invited here

So many times I call your name, ooh baby baby please

So many times I call your name, ooh yeah

Before the night is through

grant me one last wish

Sweet Soul Asylum

an everlasting kiss

Who would crush this woman underfoot?

not me, my chosen one

sweet angel wrap me in your velvet cloak, my dear

Love's a sweet warm goddess I invited here

So many times I call your name, oh please baby

So many times I call your name, ooh yeah

Before the night is through

grant me one last wish

Sweet Soul Asylum

an everlasting kiss

oh baby

So many times I call your name, oh baby baby please

So many times I call your name

Before the night is through

grant me one last wish

Sweet Soul Asylum

an everlasting kiss

Sweet Soul Asylum, yeah

Sweet Soul Asylum

The other one is "Take Your Breath Away" by Sarah McLachlan...possibly the best love song ever written IMO - the girl can damned well sing. I haven't read all of this thread yet (being new to the boards and all), but I'll be surprised if no-one has brought this one up yet. It's an awesome song, especially the live version.

Pretty much half of the songs that Sarah McLaughlin sings, including "When Somebody Loved Me", and "Possession" the hidden track, acoustic version. After the writers lost their minds and Tara was shot, the song "Fly Away" by Poe didn't leave my head for about a solid month. It describes exactly what I think Willow would be feeling after or during the funeral, if she went.

Fly Away - Poe

It makes sense that it should happen this way

That the sky should break

And the earth should shake

As if to say sure it all matters

But in such an unimportant way

As if to say, hey

Fly away sweet bird of prey

Fly, fly away

Nothing can stand in your way

Sweet bird, if you knew the words

I know that you'd say fly, fly away

It make sense that it should hurt in this way

That my heart should break

And my hands should shake

As if to say sure you don't matter

Except in the most important way

As if to say hey

Fly away sweet bird of prey

Fly, fly away

I won't stand in your way

Sweet bird, if you knew the words

I know that you'd say fly, fly away

It makes sense that it should feel this way

That you slowly fade

And yet still remain

As if to say everything matters

In such an invisible way

As if to say it's okay

Fly away

I can feel that same denial of her being gone, yet still knowing that she's going to go to a beautiful, and better somewhere. And there's also that hint that Tara would be telling her that it's alright, and they'll be together forever someday, because you know it tears her up to see Willow hurt so much.

Also, there was a very famous break up song in the eighties that almost fits with the break up of Willow and Tara. "Time" by Toto. Or maybe I'm just nastalgic because I used to listen to it all the time as a kid. Only the part where it says, "Time can erase the love we shared" it would be "time can't erase..." yeah.

And alright, maybe some of you will scrunch your noses, it's understandable I suppose, but I have to put "You Fill up my Senses" by John Denver. Possibly a little Sting with "Fields of Gold" and throw in any female singing "Fly Me to the Moon." I think that's all I can reasonably put down here.

These songs from David Sylvian make me think of how Willow may have felt once Tara came into her life.

Laughter and Forgetting

Running like a horse between the trees

The ground beneath my feet

Gives me something to hold on to

With the reins around my heart

Guided by hands that spread life before my very eyes

Well every hope falls down on it's knees in time

But I'm no longer lost

Every day, every second, every hour inside

Love's my only guide

Are these the years for laughter and forgetting?

----------------------------------------------

Wave

It seems that I remember

I dreamed a thousand dreams

We'd face the days together

No matter what they'd bring

A strength inside like I'd never known

Opened the door to life and let it go

This sun may shine forever

Upon the back of love

A kingdom raised from ashes

And held within your arms

And should the rain break through the trees

We'll find a shelter there and never leave

I'll run to you, nothing stands between us now

Nothing I can lose

This light inside can never die

Another world just made for two

I'll swim the seas inside with you

And like the waves, without a sound

I'll never let you down

Upon a wave of summer

A hilltop paved with gold

We shut our eyes and made

The promises we hold

A will to guide and see us through

I'd do it all again because of you

I'd tear my very soul to make you mine

leonard cohen song...hallelujah...jeff buckley covered it too...truly beautiful song too long and I'm too tired to write it out but I'm thinking of the lines..

maybe there's a god above but all I'd ever learned from love was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya

but remember when I moved in you and the holy dove was moving too

and every breath we drew was

hallelujah

Oooh, so many to choose from! :eatme Must commend all the clever kitties for coming up with so many pretty songs.

Here are my favourites. :love

First is a Jewel song that sounds exactly how I imagine Tara felt before she knew the strength of Willow's feelings for her, pre New Moon Rising.

Absence of Fear

Inside my skin there is this space

It twists and turns

It bleeds and aches

Inside my heart there's an empty room

It's waiting for lightning

It's waiting for you

And I am wanting

And I am needing you here

Inside the absence of fear

Muscle and sinew

Velvet and stone

This vessel is haunted

It creaks and moans

My bones call to you

In their seperate skin

I make myself translucent

To let you in, for

I am wanting

And I am needing you here

Inside the absence of fear

There is this hunger

This restlessness inside of me

And it knows that you're no stranger

You're my gravity

My hands will adore you through all darkness aim

They will lay you out in moonlight

And reinvent your name

For I am wanting you

And I am needing you here

I need you near

Inside the absence of fear

Such a beautiful song...*sigh* The second one is from the musical 'Jekyll & Hyde' - so excited to see that someone else is a fan of the music in that! This one is a stunning duet written for two female voices, one higher and one lower (no prizes for guessing which is which!) Sadly it's written about a guy so I've taken some artistic license in re-working it for our girls. It's how I imagine they're feeling leading up to the end of Entropy...

In Her Eyes

(Tara)

I sit and watch the rain

and see my tears run down the windowpane

(Willow)

I sit and watch the sky

and I can hear it breathe a sigh

(Tara)

I think of her

How we were

(Willow)

And when I think of her

Then I remember

(Both)

Remember

(Tara)

In her eyes

I can see

Where my heart longs to be

(Willow)

In her eyes

I see a gentle glow

And that's where I'll be safe

I know

(Tara)

Safe in her arms

Close to her heart

(Willow)

But I don't know

quite where to start

(Tara)

By looking in her eyes

will I see beyond tomorrow?

(Willow)

By looking in her eyes

will I see beyond the sorrow

that I feel?

(Tara)

Will her eyes reveal to me

promises or lies?

(Willow)

But she can't conceal from me

the love

In her eyes

(Tara)

I know their every look

(Her eyes)

(Willow)

Their heart's an open book

(Her eyes)

(Both)

But most of all the look

that hypnotised me

(Tara)

If I'm wise

I will walk away

and gladly

(Willow)

But sadly I'm not wise

It's hard to talk away

the memories

that you pride

(Tara)

Love is worth forgiving for

(Willow)

Now I realise

(Both)

Everything worth living for

is there

In her eyes

(Tara)

Love is worth forgiving for

Now I realise

(Willow)

(Now I realise)

(Both)

Everything worth living for

is there

In Her

Eyes

Damn I love that song, so perfect and haunting in a really longing kind of way.

Ahem, anyway, last one. This is from another musical, ironically, a religious one! Amazing how you can twist an intention to achieve whatever meaning you want...hehehe. This piece is how I see Willow feeling at the very close of Season Six, *sigh*. The musical is 'Godspell'.

By My Side

Where are you going?

Where are you going?

Can you take me with you?

For my hand is cold

And needs warmth

Where are you going?

Far beyond where the horizon lies

Where the horizon lies

And the land sinks into mellow blueness

Oh please, take me with you

Let me skip the road with you

I can dare myself

I can dare myself

I'll put a pebble in my shoe

And watch me walk (watch me walk)

I can walk

(chorus) I can walk!

I shall call the pebble Dare

I shall call the pebble Dare

We will walk, we will talk together

We will talk (chorus) about walking

Dare shall be carried

(chorus) And when we both have had enough

I will take him from my shoe, singing

(chorus) "Meet your new road!"

Then I'll take your hand

Finally glad

(chorus) Finally glad

That you are here

By my side

(Chorus)

By my side

By my side

By my side

*Siiiiiiiiiiigggghhhh*Well, now that I'm all nostalgic I shall crawl into a little ball and rock myself.

:kiss1 Michaela

Face it, gang, I'm such a dinosaur...

This golden oldie from the Seekers, reminds me of Tara in her early days (and Willow, too, to some extent)...

Georgie Girl

Hey there Georgie Girl.

Swinging down the street so fancy free.

Nobody you meet could ever see the loneliness there

(Inside you)

Hey there Georgie girl, Why do all the boys just pass you by?

Could it be you just don't try or is it the clothes you wear?

You're always window shopping but never stopping to buy.

So shed those dowdy feathers and fly

(A little bit.)

Hey there Georgie Girl,

There's another Georgie deep inside.

Bring out all the love you hide and oh what a change there'd be.

The world would see

A new Georgie Girl.

Hey there Georgie girl

Dreaming of the someone you could be.

Life is a reality, you can't always run away.

Don't be so scared of changing and rearranging yourself.

It's time for jumping down from the shelf

(A little bit.)

Hey there Georgie Girl,

There's another Georgie deep inside.

Bring out all the love you hide and oh what a change there'd be.

The world would see

A new Georgie Girl.

Wow...

Personally, I'm shocked by how many are missing. :glasses

Anyhow, here's just a few of the songs I'd consider W/T reminding-worthy.

Everything I Own - Bread

In My Life - Beatles

Little Willow - Paul McCartney

Maybe I'm Amazed - Paul McCartney And Wings

Girl Of My Dreams - Bram Tchaikovsky (No, not THE Bram Tchaikovsky...)

Faithfully - Journey

Lost Together - Blue Rodeo

Dark Horse - Amanda Marshall

No More I Love You's - Annie Lennox

Patio Lanterns - Kim Mitchell

Forgiveness - Collective Soul

Stay (Wasting Time) - Dave Matthews Band ("Oh, just groping you, rolling in the mud" :drool)

The Space Between - Dave Matthews Band

Days - Grapes Of Wrath

If You're Gone - Matchbox 20/Matchbox Twenty

Misery - Moffatts

I could go on, but I'll leave a few for other people. :lol

(Edited to add one more song... :))

You are all that I need

You’re the sweet to my mean

Fess it up, dot on the palm of your hand
I can help you to stand
Saved it up for this dance
Tell me all the things you can

I just wanna sing a song with you
I just wanna be the one that's true

Cause Blue Eyes
You’re the secret I keep
Cause Blue Eyes

All the lights on and you are alive
But you can't point the way to your heart
So sublime, when the stars are aligned
But you don't know
You don't know the greatness you are

Cause Blue Eyes
You are destiny's scene
Cause Blue Eyes
I just wanna be the one

I just wanna sing a song with you
I just wanna get it on with you

Cause Blue Eyes
You’re the secret I keep
Cause Blue Eyes
I just wanna sing a song with you…

Cheers

Oh, I've been meaning to post here for ages....

The chorus of Star Song by Bowling for Soup always makes me think of S4/early S5 Tara

You're a star the way you are
You know you're not fooling anyone, no
You got the eyes of an angel
Don't try to change, yeah
Everybody's got their scars
No matter what they tell you you're beautiful the way you are

Hugs
Jeanne

Ok, so all the ones I originally thought of had already been said and these have probably already been mentioned too... but what the hell...

I think just about everything from Michelle Branch works...
A few Human Nature and John Farnham songs work too...
Why don't you and I by Santana/Chad Kroeger...
When I hear Broken by Seether/Amy Lee or The Reason by Hoobastank I instantly think of Will and Tara in the time they were apart after they broke up...

And especially in Someday by Nickelback

Someday, somehow
gonna make it alright but not right now
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)
Someday, somehow
gonna make it allright but not right now
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)

This song just completely sums up how they feel for each other to me... :heart ...and is one of the best songs I have heard recently... of course i'm a major romantic so... *shrugs*

Amazed by Anthony Callea

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside of me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away

I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams

[Chorus]
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps on getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart

Oh it feels like the first time every time
I wanna spend the whole night in your eyes

[Chorus]

Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps on getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Every little thing that you do
Oh, every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you
Oh, by you

This song I just totally love... :heart ...and it seems to really fit for Will and Tara too... which is great 'cause then I have an extra great reason to love it... :love

Love is only a Feeling by The Darkness...

Oh, the first flush of youth was upon you when our eyes first met
And I knew that to you and into your life I had to get
Oh, I felt light-headed at the touch of this stranger's hand
An assault my defences systematically failed to withstand

'Cos you came at a time
When the pursuit of one true love in which to fall
Was the be all and end all

[Chorus]
Love is only a feeling
(Drifting away)
When I'm in your arms I start believing
(It's here to stay)
But love is only a feeling
Anyway

Oh, the state of elation that this unison of hearts achieved
I had seen, I had touched, I had tasted and I truly believed
That the light of my life
Would tear a hole right through each cloud that scudded by
Just to beam on you and I

[Chorus]

Anyway

Love is only a feeling
(Drifting away)
And we've got to stop ourselves believing
(It's here to stay)
'Cos love is only a feeling
Anyway

And this one just screams Willow and Tara to me... :P :lol

I Was Made For Lovin' You by Kiss

Do, do, do, do-do, do-do, do, do
Do, do, do, do-do, do-do
Do, do, do, do-do, do-do, do, do
Do, do, do, do-do, do-do

Tonight I wanna give it all to you
In the darkness
There's so much I wanna do
And tonight I wanna lay it at your feet
'Cause girl, I was made for you
And girl, you were made for me

[Chorus]
I was made for lovin' you baby
You were made for lovin' me
And I can't get enough of you baby
Can you get enough of me

Tonight I wanna see it in your eyes
Feel the magic
There's something that drives me wild
And tonight we're gonna make it all come true
'Cause girl, you were made for me
And girl I was made for you

[Chorus]

I was made for lovin' you baby
You were made for lovin' me
And I can give it all to you baby
Can you give it all to me

Oh, can't get enough, oh, oh
I can't get enough, oh, oh
I can't get enough
Yeah, ha

Do, do, do, do-do, do-do, do, do
Do, do, do, do-do, do-do
Do, do, do, do-do, do-do, do, do
Do, do, do, do-do, do-do

[Chorus]

Oh, I was made
you were made
I can't get enough
No, I can't get enough

[Chorus] x2

Horses by Tori Amos remind me especially of Tara- though it's not as much the lyrics as it is how she sings it. IM me at thetrulyderanged and I'll send it to you.

Horses

Got me some horses to ride on, to ride on
They say that your demons can't go there.
So I got me some horses to ride on, to ride on
As longs as your army keeps perfectly still.

And maybe you'll find me a sailor, a tailor
And maybe together we'll make Mother well
So i got me some horses to ride on, to ride on
As long as your army keeps perfectly still.

You showed me the meadow
And milkwood and silkwood
And you would if i would
but you never would.
So i chased down your posies
Your pansies in my hosies
Then opened my hands
And they were empty then.

Off with superfly sniffing a sharpie pen.
Honey it's Bill and Ben
Off with superfly counting your bees
Oh me, honey, like one two three.
The camera is running
It's easy like one...two...three.

And if there is a way to find you I will find you
but will you find me here if Neil makes me a tree
An afro a pharoah
I can't go; you said so
But threads that are golden don't break easily
So I got me some horses to ride on, to ride on
They say that your demons can't go there
So I got me some horses to ride on, to ride on
As long as your army keeps perfectly still
Keeps perfectly still

Keeps perfectly... still.

This song reminds me of when Oz came back and what both Willow and Tara where thinking. This song is off the movie A Walk To Remember.

What does it all mean by Shane West--i think

The day I first met you,
Well I thought it quite funny.
Your eyes were so damn blue,
Your smile was a drug, your style was money.

So what does it all mean
To find someone that makes you cry inside?
She's got the players on her team,
How could I smile when all she did was say Hi?

[chorus]
That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out.
And then I'll show my colorful life.

I'd like to be like you.
With a rep like yours my little honey.
I'm not sure what I can do.
Just know that I ain't no false money.

So what does it all mean?
To try so hard to get the right words out.
Well I wish I could come clean.
I'll give it my all, but I have my doubts.

That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out.
That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out.
That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out...

Also the song The Way by Clay Aiken

Something about the way
You look tonight
Something about the way
That I can't take my eyes off you
Something about the way
Your lips invite
Maybe it's the way that
I get nervous when you're around
and I want you to be mine
And if you need a reason why

It's in the way that you move me
And the way that you tease me
The way that I want you tonight
It's in the way that you hold me
And the way that you know me
When I can't find the right words to say
You feel it in the way
Oh you feel it in the way

Something about how
You stay on my mind
Something about the way that
I whisper your name when I'm asleep
Oh girl
Maybe it's the look
You get in your eyes
Oh baby it's the way that
It makes me feel to
See you smile
And the reasons they may change
But what I'm feeling stays the same

It's in the way that you move me
And the way that you tease me
The way that I want you tonight
It's in the way that you hold me
And the way that you know me
When I can't find the right words to say
You feel it in the way
Oh you feel it in the way
You feel it in the way
Oh you feel it in the way

I can't put my fingers on
Just what it is that
Makes me love you, you baby
So don't ask me to describe
I get all choked up inside
Just thinkin bout the way

It's in the way that you move me
And the way that you tease me
The way that I want you tonight
It's in the way that you hold me
And the way that you know me
When I can't find the right words to say
It's in the way that you move me
And the way that you tease me
The way
Feel it in the way
Something about the way you look tonight
There's nothing more to say than
I feel it in the way

Thats all for now.

I found some great dance songs that I had to add, mostly because I love techno/dance/rave music :dance and these songs seemed perfect.

"Unbreakable"-DJ Sammy

I wish this heart of mine could be
that unbreakable like a monument for love
Build the stones you could not see
I keep on telling so many lies
So unbelievable
Guess I make it through this time
Hoping you will guild my way

I wish this heart of mine could be
that unbreakable like a monument for love
Build the stones you could not see
I keep on telling so many lies
So unbelievable
Guess I make it through this time
Hoping you will guide my way

Hoping you will guide my way.

This reminded me of when Willow was going through the whole magick addiction, and when she lied to Tara about performing the spell that was supposed to make their argument fade out of her memory. Pretty much the whole magick addiction situation.

"Magic Moment"-DJ Sammy

I feel that magic moment, when I hold you in my arms
I wish that it could always be, but I know you've got to go
Then I will wait until you're here again, remember the things from now and then
Even if you're a hundred years away, I'll be waiting till that day
That day, that day, that day... [fade]

Magic moment, Magic moment
Magic moment, Magic moment

Magic moment, Magic moment

I feel that magic moment, when I hold you in my arms
I wish that it could always be, but I know you've got to go
Then I will wait until you're here again, remember the things from now and then
Even if you're a hundred years away, I'll be waiting till that day
That day, that day, that day... [fade]

Magic moment, Magic moment
Magic moment, Magic moment

This one, of course, reminded me of Tara's death, or maybe even after they broke up.

"Wait"-DJ Sammy

Wait - until my love is free to feel - all over.
And see - that it can be you and me, so closer.
Don't go - try to have a little faith, my baby.
One day - you will see it was worth to wait,
For your lady.

This one seemed to remind me of "New Moon Rising," when Willow was trying to make her decision, and basically the entire episode. I think it must've been something like how Willow felt.

Okay, I knew this thread was here somewhere and was searching for it in the Kitten, but then finally clued in that it was in WaV. Two songs have been really reminding me of Willow and Tara lately:

1. Gotta Get Over Greta - the Nields; http://www.nields.com (lyrics below)

This song reminds me of what might have been if Willow and Tara had met at a young age and then never ended up getting together, but one of the regretted it later in life. The line about "she was the vampire and I was her victim" is probably what really caught my attention, come to think of it.

)The Nields are actually now just Nerissa and Katryna Nields, a folk sister duo based in Northampton, Mass. - they used to be a full band and this song was recorded when they were a band. They still play it live sometimes (for that matter, sometimes they still appear with a full band)).

2. Willow Tree - the Waifs, http://www.thewaifs.com (lyrics below)

This song makes me think of a possible post-tabula rasa reunion scenario. I can't quite figure out who I think is the one under the willow tree playing the guitar - I could make a case for it being either Tara or Willow.

(The Waifs are a super-cool Australian band that is on the singer-songwriter circuit and they're on their last tour for a while since one of them just had a baby, so if you're in the USA or Canada check 'em out.)

Gotta Get Over Greta
I left that wild side long ago
I'm here to tell you something you already know
Concerning me and my best friend, sleeping in her big blue bed
We liked the same boys, the same bands
The same games, we've got the same hands, and now

I've gotta get over Greta
Gotta get over Greta
Gotta get over Greta
Gotta get over Greta

We played as monsters in the kitchen
She was the vampire and I was her victim
And at the dance we hid in the light booth, laughing at the boys below
We thought the same thing, we rolled our eyes
She took my hands and said, "We're not like those guys"

Two skinny tomboys on our bikes
Riding forever into the summer night
There is no marriage more divine
There is no divorce more final, more final

I left that wild side long ago
My husband holds me close and he will enver know
But as for me I live in the fear I'll run into her down the line
It'll be the same thing, I'll shake and tremble
I'll lose myself, I'll remember, I'll remember

©1996 Nerissa Nields, Peter Quince Productions (ASCAP)
(idea by Katryna Nields)

Willow tree
Under the willow tree, that's where I wait for you
to come back to me, but you're so far away.
I just sit by here in the morning sun,
and I wait under the willow tree.

It was a bitter seed that you left that day
when you walked out my door screaming "Get out of my face!"
I took all your hurtin' words, I took your bad deeds
and I buried 'em deep underneath that tree.

Under the willow tree, that's where I wait for you
to come back to me, but you're so far away.
I just sit by here in the morning sun,
and I wait under the willow tree.

---

But such beauty grew from bitterness.
Oh how it's helped to heal this heavy heart,
oh and I want you to know, yeah that it's ok.
If you come back I would welcome you like it was yesterday.

Under the willow tree, that's where I wait for you
to come back to me, but you're so far away.
I just sit by here in the morning sun,
and I wait under the willow tree.

---

Oh, but I'm not asking you for union, no-no.
I want your promise to be true oh,
'Cos I've been around the world, honey I've seen enough to know -
there aint nobody else. I'd rather walk with you.

Under the willow tree, that's where I wait for you
to come back to me, but you're so far away.
I just sit right here and I play my guitar,
and I wait under the willow tree.

Under the willow tree.[hr]

I have made 5 (yes that's right) mix cd's devoted to W/T. Many of my ideas for songs came from this very thread and some I discovered on my own. I wanted to share them with the kittens, if anything, to show how seriously obsessive/compulsive I am about these characters. I listen to these cd's a lot!

Disc One

REAL LIFE- Send Me An Angel
I think this song could fit for either W or T before they met each other. Very moody, dark, classic 80's synth-pop song.
BJORK- I Miss You
THE CURE-The Lovecats
TEARS FOR FEARS- Head Over Heels
Another 80's classic. Really fits the time when they are first hanging out.
GOO GOO DOLLS- Iris
MELANIE DOANE- I Can't Take My Eyes Off You
MICHELLE BRANCH- It's You
HEATHER NOVA- Winterblue
This could be their theme song.
COLDPLAY- Yellow
TONIC- Lemon Parade
A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS- Space Age Love Song
More 80's synth. This song is sweet and kinda sad.
SIMPLE MINDS- All The Things She Said
I think this song fits W's mindset really well, how she feels about T.
INXS- Not Enough Time
"In our fight against the end
Making love we are immortal
We are the last two left on earth
And I was lost for words in your arms."

ASZURE RAY- Displaced
COWBOY JUNKIES- Sweet Jane
Very moody, sad, fits the break-up period really well.
REMY ZERO- Out/In
This song illustrates W's confusion and angst during Season 6 magic addict stuff.
REM- The One I Love
T to W
EURYTHMICS- Here Comes the Rain Again
W to T
SARAH MCLACHLAN- Full Of Grace

Disc Two

TORI AMOS- 1000 Oceans
OASIS- Slide Away
More break-up period angsty W stuff.
MUNDY- To You I Bestow
CHANTAL KREVIAZUK- Far Away
PJ HARVEY- A Place Called Home
PETER GABRIEL- In Your Eyes
THE CULT- She Sells Sanctuary
10,000 MANIACS -Because the Night
ANGUUN- Snow on the Sahara
T to W. This is a beautiful song.
THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS- The Ghost In You
ALISON KRAUSS- That Kind of Love
CATHERINE WHEEL- Fripp
One of my favorite bands. This is a dark love song. W to T.
SPONGE- Velveteen
So sad. If you read the lyrics you'll know where this one fits.
KRISTEN HERSH- Me And My Charms
DES'REE- Kissing You
TOAD THE WET SPROCKET- Little Heaven
This one appeared on the BTVS movie soundtrack. Fits W/T and the show perfectly.

Disc Three

THE POLICE- Every Little Thing She Does is Magic
AMERICA- Magic
Heard this one night in the grocery store and thought it fit W/T perfectly. Great song!
THE CARS-Magic
HOWIE DAY- Collide
I get more and more ideas from excellent W/T music vids.
TONIC- Take Me As I Am
NELLY FURTADO- Turn Off the Light
MICHELLE BRANCH- All You Wanted
OUR LADY PEACE- Somewhere Out There
K's CHOICE- Live For Real
FOREIGNER- I Wanna Know What Love Is
CROWDED HOUSE- Don't Dream Its Over
"There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
but you'll never see the end of the road
while you're traveling with me."

FUEL-Hemorhage in My Hands
GUNS N' ROSES- Don't Cry
SEETHER featuring AMY LEE- Broken
This song gets me every time....so damn sad.
COLDPLAY- Trouble
PM DAWN- I'd Die Without You
T to W, around Entropy
SHINEDOWN- .45
BUSH- Out Of This World

Disc Four

AVRIL LAVIGNE- I'm With You
MADONNA- Get Together
"Do you believe in love at first sight?
It's an illusion, I don't care.
Do you believe I can make you feel better?
Too much confusion, come on over here."

GABRIELLE- Dreams
Cheesy early 90's dance-pop stuff.
DONNA LEWIS- I Love You Always Forever
LIFEHOUSE- You And Me
W/T should have a soundtrack with two songs about not being able to take their eyes off of each other.
THE CURE- Halo
THE BANGLES- Eternal Flame
BIG HEAD TODD AND THE MONSTERS- Magdelina
"There is only now to lay aside
All the bad dreams of your past have been lost in the fire
Remember, soon I'll be back to bathe in your smile
And all the while, touch a long time indeed."

MICHELLE BRANCH- Goodbye to You
CHICAGO- Hard For Me to Say I'm Sorry
TONI BRAXTON- Breathe Again
Another early 90's classic. W to T during break-up.
CINDERELLA- Don't Know What You've Got 'Till It's Gone
REMY ZERO- I'm Not Afraid
SEAL- Prayer for the Dying
Another one I heard in the grocery store. I think it's a song someone could sing to W during magic addict phase.
THE OFFSPRING- Gone Away
DISHWALLA- Until I Wake Up
"Into clear space,
vivid vision
see her shape.
At my bedside,
beam up my mind please.
There's nothing in motion, and I'm satisfied.
No disappointment, until I wake up."
Poor Willow! This is a lovely, haunting song.

THE SUNDAYS- Cry
HEATHER NOVA- Walking Higher

Disc Five

EVANESSENCE- Taking Over Me
STARDUST- Music Sounds Better With You
More cheesy dance-pop, but it fits!
THE SUNDAYS- Wild Horses
COWBOY JUNKIES- River Waltz
THE DELAYS- No Ending
"Seeing you buzzing from flickering signs,
bringing on warnings of incoming fire.
Blood on your hands
from the tongue of a liar
Fall on me when you come down."
T to W

TEGAN AND SARA- I Can't Take It
SPONGE- Live Here Without You
COLDPLAY- The Scientist
So W, with the parts about math and stuff.
DAVID GRAY- Please Forgive Me
This could be their theme song too.
ANNIE LENNOX- Why?
OUR LADY PEACE- Thief
"Someone help us understand who ordered
this disgusting arrangement with time and the end.
I don't want to hear who walked on water,
cause the hallways are empty, clocks tick."

PHIL COLLINS- I Wish it Would Rain Down
SIMPLE MINDS- See the Lights
W to T during magic addict stuff.
MAZZY STAR- Fade Into You
"You live your life
you go in shadows.
You'll come apart and you'll go black.
Some kind of night into your darkness
colors your eyes with what's not there."
T to W

TOAD THE WET SPROCKET- Are We Afraid?
DURAN DURAN- Ordinary World
SARAH MCLACHLAN- Fallen

So that's it! If I keep finding inspiration in the grocery store I'll have ten more albums made by the end of the year. Who am I kidding? Every song reminds me of W/T because I think about them all of the time! Thanks to all of you kittens for suggestions and for the great music videos. And thanks for letting me post my obsessive ramblings. I have seriously lost my mind when it comes to these two but I'm hoping some of you can relate.

Peace,
Amy

That Kind of Love. Allison Krauss. (well, duh). Entropy Kiss. Need I say more?

Who would sell their soul for love?
Or waste one tear on compromise
Should be easy enough
To know a heartache in disguise
But the heart rules the mind
And the going gets rough
Pride takes the fall
When you find that kind of love

I can't help feeling like a fool
Since I lost that place inside
Where my heart knew its way
And my soul was ever wise
Once innocence was lost
There was not faith enough
Still my heart held on
When it found that kind of love

Though beauty is rare enough
Still we trust
Somehow we'll find it there
With no guarantee
It seems to me
At least it should be fair

But if it's only tears and pain
Isn't it still worth the cost
Like some sweet saving grace
Or a river we must cross
If we don't understand
What this life is made of
We learn the truth
When we find that kind of love
Cause when innocence is lost
There is not faith enough
We learn the truth
When we find that kind of love

also

Hallelujah. Jeff Buckley. For Amber, and also for Willow - for falling in love with Tara and then losing her.

Well I heard there was a secret chord
that David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah

Well Baby I've been here before
I*'ve seen* this room, and I've walked this floor, you know
I used to live alone before I knew you
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
But love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah

Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do you
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah

Maybe there is a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah

and finally, for the romantic in me.

Dance Me To The End of Love. Leonard Cohen.

LEONARD COHEN LYRICS

"Dance Me To The End Of Love"

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love.

Hey. This is my first post. I am excited.

d.

Just had to jump in for a couple reasons (oddly, related, actually).

First off, while Jeff Buckley does a solid job with "Hallelujah" (as did kd lang, but I'll get to that part in a moment), I must note it was originally done by Leonard Cohen, which was, by my personal opinion the best version.

Secondly, back to kd lang. I've listened to this song a couple hundred times in the last, I dunno, 6 months? Anyway, the 2nd verse just makes me think of a certain S7 episode (you should guess, and I don't wanna risk getting a stern lecture about posting post-S6 stuff on the board):

"Helpless" written by Neil Young (Redone by kd lang on "Hymns Of The 49th Parallel", track 3)

There is a town in north Ontario,
With dream, comfort,
Memory to spare.
And in my mind,
I still need a place to go.
All my changes were there.

Blue blue window,
Behind the stars.
Yellow moon on the rise.
Big birds flying,
Across the sky.
Throwing shadows in our eyes.
Leaves us,

Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless, helpless.

Baby, can you hear me now?
The chains are locked,
and tied around my door.
And baby?
Will you sing with me somehow?

Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless.

Blue blue windows,
Behind the stars.
Yellow moon on the rise.
Big birds flying,
Across the sky.
Throwing shadows in our eyes.
Leaves us,

Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Helpless, helpless, helpless.

"You're Beautiful" by James Blunt

My life is brilliant.

My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Yeah, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Fucking high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.

"Stickwitu" by The Pussycat Dolls

I don't wanna go another day,
So I'm telling you exactly what is on my mind.
Seems like everybody's breaking up
Throwing their love away,
But I know I got a good thing right here
That's why I say (Hey)

[Chorus:]
Nobody gonna love me better
I must stick with you forever.
Nobody gonna take me higher
I must stick with you.
You know how to appreciate me
I must stick with you, my baby.
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I must stick with you.

I don't wanna go another day
So I'm telling you exactly what is on my mind.
See the way we ride in our private lives,
Ain't nobody getting in between.
I want you to know that you're the only one for me (one for me)
And I say

[Chorus]

And now
Ain't nothing else I can need (nothing else I can need)
And now
I'm singing 'cause you're so, so into me.
I got you,
We'll be making love endlessly.
I'm with you (baby, I'm with you)
Baby, you're with me (Baby, you're with me)

So don't you worry about
People hanging around,
They ain't bringing us down.
I know you and you know me
And that's all that counts.
So don't you worry about
People hanging around,
They ain't bringing us down.
I know you and you know me
And that's why I say

[Chorus x2]

"If You're Not The One" by Daniel Bedingfield

If you’re not the one then why does my soul feel glad today?
If you’re not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way?
If you are not mine then why does your heart return my call
If you are not mine would I have the strength to stand at all

I'll never know whatthe future brings
But I know you're here with me now
We’ll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with

I don’t want to run away but I can’t take it, I don’t understand
If I’m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

If I don’t need you then why am I crying on my bed?
If I don’t need you then why does your name resound in my head?
If you’re not for me then why does this distance maim my life?
If you’re not for me then why do I dream of you as my wife?

I don’t know why you’re so far away
But I know that this much is true
We’ll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I pray in you’re the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life

I don’t want to run away but I can’t take it, I don’t understand
If I’m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

‘Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away
And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today
‘Cause I love you, whether it’s wrong or right
And though I can’t be with you tonight
You know my heart is by your side

I don’t want to run away but I can’t take it, I don’t understand
If I’m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am
Is there any way that I could stay in your arms

"My Immortal" by Evanescence

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

[Chorus:]
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

[Chorus]

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

[Chorus]

"Anywhere" by Evanescence

Dear my love, haven't you wanted to be with me
And dear my love, haven't you longed to be free
I can't keep pretending that I don't even know you
And at sweet night, you are my own
Take my hand

[CHORUS:]
We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the morning light
We'll be half way to anywhere
Where love is more than just your name

I have dreamt of a place for you and I
No one knows who we are there
All I want is to give my life only to you
I've dreamt so long I cannot dream anymore
Let's run away, I'll take you there

We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the mornings light
We'll be half way to anywhere
Where no one needs a reason

Forget this life
Come with me
Don't look back you're safe now
Unlock your heart
Drop your guard
No one's left to stop you

Forget this life
Come with me
Don't look back you're safe now
Unlock your heart
Drop your guard
No one's left to stop you now

[Chorus]

[Silence]

Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah

[Fades out]

"Show Me Love" by T.a.t.U

This was an accident
Not the kind where sirens sound
Never even noticed
We're suddenly crumbling

Tell me how you've never felt
Delicate or innocent
Do you still have doubts that
Us having faith makes any sense

Tell me nothing ever counts
Lashing out or breaking down
Still somebody loses 'cause
There's no way to turn around

Staring at your photograph
Everything now in the past
Never felt so lonely I
Wish that you could show me love

Show me love, show me love, show me love,
Show me love, show me love
'Til you open the door

Show me love, show me love, show me
love,
Show me love, show me love,
'Til I'm up off the floor

Show me love, show me love show me love,
Show me love, show me love,
'Til it's inside my pores

Show me love, show me love, show me love,
Show me love, show me love,
'Til I'm screaming for more

Random acts of mindlessness
Commonplace occurrences
Chances and surprises
Another state of consciousness

Tell me nothing ever counts
Lashing out or breaking down
Still somebody loses 'cause
There's no way to turn around

Tell me how you've never felt
Delicate or innocent
Do you still have doubts that
Us having faith makes any sense

You play games, I play tricks
Girls and girls, but you're the one
Like a game of pick-up sticks
Played by fucking lunatics

Show me love, show me love
Give me all that I want
Show me love, Show me love
'Til I'm screaming for more

"Nothing Else Matters" by Bif Naked [Originally by Metallica]

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they say
Never cared for games they play
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
And I know

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No nothing else matters

Mmm . . . at risk of showing my geeky classical music side, I will offer an aria from Samuel Barber's opera Vanessa called "Under the Willow Tree." I just thought the title was quite fitting, and it is a beautiful piece.

On a less geeky note, The Idea of Growing Old by The Features, Funny Little Frog by Belle and Sebastian, Modern Nature by Sondre Lerche, Sway and Beautiful Collision by Bic Runga, Under My Skin by Rachael Yamagata, Stay Don't Go by Spoon, Power of Two by Indigo Girls, Brightest by Copeland . . .

I'm gonna stop while I'm ahead (and before I have a hernia).
