Hi! Thank you for the reports on Amber, Michelle and Joss ( )! Amber's wonderful in jeans and black t-shirt. I'm glad she rested a bit before the show. And Michelle, she looks older and lovely. I think she'll be taller than Amber soon! I also wonder what Amber meant when she comforted Iamyouknowyours. Did she mean something new'll be in Buffy? But I don't have hope that Joss doesn't really understand the feelings of Buffy fans.



Xita: thank you for the talk with Amber, you're right Joss doesn't really have good taste in fashion!



Iamyouknowyours: I'm so moved by your courage, it must be hard to speak to Joss with so many people. Amber's sooo nice to make you feel better, I'm sure she's very grateful for your support.

Okay.. writing this before I crash out after not having slept for almost 36 hours...



Left Las Vegas with my lurker pal at about 5am Saturday morning. Arrived at Tower at 9:30am. Met Rally, Xita, Scifiacid and Sparrow there... hung out chatting for a while. Got interviewed for the S6 DVD set (as did the other kittens who were there...hopefully at least Xita will make it onto the actual DVD's)



Finally, into the fray...



It was horribly rushed. This was not a well planned or well executed event. Got in, said hey to MT, got her sig on a cd book for a friend here in Vegas... I was right behind iamyouknowyours and it was very interesting stepping up to Joss right after she had left him. He looked horribley shaken up ( ) and I merely smiled smugly at him and handed him my friend's CD book to sign. Then there was Amber, who looked up at me, did a great double-take, smiled like she'd just won a million dollars and said, "Oh my GOD! Jen! You're here!" she of course signed my friend's booklet, and I thanked her and (as I was being unceremoniously pushed along by a tower records poophead) turned back quickly to say loud enough for Joss to hear, "Chance was awesome. Distribution!" She smiled, chuckled and nodded, waving quickly before turning her attention back to her adoring and well earned fans.



I can only hope that Joss was finally able to see up front and in person the crass mistake he made. Particularly since for the most part he was widely ignored and all the attention was going to Amber. The only reason I even stepped up to him was to get my friend's booklet signed. If I hadn't had that, I would have skipped him as well. (Although it felt quite nice to offer him that smug smile after iamyouknowyours did such an eloquent job of shaking him up).



Food report:



A cheeseburger at Dublin's washed down with a pleasant pear cider. Yet even more pear cider was embibed as I was being thanked for helping to facilitate the removal of a nonkittenish annoyance. (Thanks to all who bought me a pint). Joined the large part of the group as we removed to Rally and scifiacid's hotel room to get thoroughly "versnickered". Had a Ralph's Deli-made ham and swiss sandwich and some chips. (The chips were good, the sandwich, not so much).



Then, exhausted as I was, decided to lie down and rest my eyes... To everyone who thought I was asleep, you thought wrong... I very much wasn't... Heehee



Then, after not sleeping at all the whole night (cheers to Rally and my lurker pal) drove back to Las Vegas today and got in about 3pm.



That's pretty much it.

And a special thanks to lamyouknowyours for saying what I am feeling, but wouldn't have the guts to say it to Joss's face (you are so brave, kudos to you)! And yes, Xita, I heard you. As I was the one who Amber said the "it will all be rectified" comment to, I will give you all context in which it was said. I was behind Darkwiccan in line and like Xita, I skipped right past the homeless looking man and on to Amber. Since JW had a gap in time because I ignored him while waiting for Amber, he turned to Amber and said, "Thanks so much for handling that" He was referring to Iamyouknowyours comments to him, which Amber did handle wonderfully. Amber said to him, "oh, no problem, it'll be fine" and was still talking to him but turned to look at me and said "it's all going to be rectified in the end". Then she signed what I gave her and looked at me like with an expression I can only categorized as a "you know what I mean" look. I replied with something like "Don't worry, I know nothing" to which she replied, "I know nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing". So there it is. And thanks again to all you kittens who gave this lurker a thorough welcome to your community.

Ok, since you have most of the details, first I will give the important reports:



So, let's see got to Tower at I don't know what time in the morning, SciFiAcid had left something back at the hotel so she dropped me off and went back. I hopped into Big Red with Sparrow and had a lovely little powered raspberry filled donut, to go along with my large coffee from McDonalds. We sat and talked up our sports teams until Xita showed up, at which point we decided to officially get in line.



Once DW, Storm, Dri and all got there, we started heading in and out of line. We went across the street for some breakfast type items when the first dogs were spotted in the back of a pick up trunk. They were very cute and very nicely watched me as I took this picture of them.

So lots of line waiting, wandering around, just hanging out. Lostsoul came by with candy, for which we get the first official food picture.

Apparently Tower patrons like to bring their dogs when shopping for records, this dog drives in style.

After a while they made us turn the entire line around and line up at the back door. So they could herd us through, we had a nice corner, which worked well for our increasingly large group. However, it stank, a lot.



We got interviewed by Fox, as a group, they took lots of shots of my breasts, err I mean my shirt. They filmed the front and the back of my Got Tara shirt. They let out a very horrified collective laugh when the saw the back of the shirt.

Also a fine highlight of the morning, Buffy fans dumpster diving for Scooby Doo stuff.

It was drizzling on and off which was no fun, because they wanted you to have the items out and ready before you entered the store. Even though we still had to wait another 15-20 minutes before we actually reached the table.



We were quite pleased that Joss was in the middle, made him easier to ignore, I was thinking of giving him the Advocate article to read while we ignored him.



At the last minute, before I reached Michelle T. I remembered I had the Wilderness Part 2 comic in my briefcase, so I got her to sign that. She had no idea and was staring at it, her comment, I hate those pants. She also signed the cd booklet for me.



She was very sweet and friendly very tiny seeing her in real life. I allowed Joss to sign the cd booklet, but I didn't speak to him other than to say thank you after he signed. Joss was about to get hit with the cold shoulder for about the next 20 minutes as he either was only allowed to sign one thing or was ignored completely.

Well, just got back home myself after dropping Rally off about an hour or so ago. Don’t know if I can add much but I’ll toss in something just to put my footprint down and say I was there.



I picked up Rally up here in NorCal late afternoon Friday for the long drive down. We ran into some traffic on the way out of Gilroy, quite common for that area, but my mom told me later that there were fires in Morgan Hill, which probably added to our delay. After stop and go for over an hour we were finally off. The drive was a long one and we didn’t hit the LA city limit till around 9:30/10:00 pm. Found our hotel with minimal amount of difficulty and crashed down for the night. We wanted to make sure we’d be up nice and early to get a prime spot on line the next day.



Saturday, 7 am rolls around and we’re up, showered, and off to find Tower. Which, according to the Yahoo Map was supposedly no more than 2 miles from the hotel! WRONG! Try more like 30 minutes. Ah well, we followed our little map and wound up making a couple circle all the round Sunset blvd. I mean seriously, I think we must have traversed the entire length of Sunset blvd before reaching Tower Records!! I discovered along the way that I had forgotten my cash, so I dropped Rally off in the parking lot at around 8ish, there were maybe 2 cars there already, and made a mad dash back to the hotel. The trip back took much longer because the city started to wake up and traffic abound on Sunset after 9! I pulled into Tower, parked in the back and headed for the rest of the kittens who where all ready there and had staked out a spot near the front of the store.



Meet lots of new people (Rane!! We were hoping you would show up… sigh… but alas you do not!) Xita, the hag, I’ve known for ages now, Sparrow was there with Big Red (her car) for us to lean on (but no jiggling allowed!), DarkWiccan and Storm. It was a long 4 hours of standing around, more people coming and going, getting directed, en mass, to line up in the back of the store (which, lucky us we got stuck by the piss smelling garbage), getting interviewed by FOX for the Season 6 DVDs (I hid in the back so I’m sure no one will every see me and than finally having someone show up.



Amber was there first. I saw a bunch of people gawking at something so I decided to meander up to the front of the story and see what’s the what. It was Amber. She had arrived in a Towncar, which parked right by the front door, and was standing on the steps for a while talking to folks. She looked good, must have gotten some sleep snigger, she had on a tight black long sleeved top with her blue backpack. I wandered back to the group to tell them she was here. Which surprised everyone, Amber is known to be late FOR EVERYTHING. About 5 minutes later Diane drove up quickly followed by Joss. And descriptions of him are correct, scruffy his about what I always think of him. I did not see Michelle get there but lots of people said she was there, also driven to the signing in a Towncar. I was not surprised to see she was there. Rally and I were talking on the way up taking bets on what other cast member would show and Michelle was our top choice.



Even though all three arrived pretty much on time, they didn’t start letting people in till about 1:30pm. Since we were up near the front, we didn’t have to wait to long to go in (lucky us since the place that never rains started to rain). Michelle was at the table first, than Joss and finally Amber. Michelle looks pretty much like you see her on Buffy. Very cute personality. Joking with Joss and such, and seemed to be enjoying herself. Joss looked a little less happy. Kind of just there, signing not saying much. Amber was last, adorable as every and saying hi to people like she’s known them forever. Hugging just about everyone.



I really didn’t say much to any of them (I tend to go nonverbal when I actually have to talk to someone face to face… shiver), but I thanked Michelle and Joss for signing my CD cover. I gave Amber a CD I had made for her (songs she could listen to while her mother drivers her around) and I got a hug for my effort (happy dance... altho, hate that picture! Thanks Rally!). She signed the CD than I handed her my Bye Bye Love cast picture to sign. Much like Eliza’s reaction when she saw it, Amber was very ‘aww look how young I look’. She showed it to Joss before signing it and giving it back… and than I was ushered out unceremoniously!



Others have mentioned what we did afterwards, so I won’t go into detail. We drove around, entourage like, looking for a place for grub and booze. Finally decided on Dublins. I had some kind of club sandwich and we stayed there gabbing away for a few hours. After our bitchy waitress was giving us the evil eye, we decided to hit Ralphs, grabs some beers (Ice for me) munchies and head to the hotel. Hung out there for a few hours, people leaving sporadically here and there, until finally it was over.



The drive back home today seemed extra long for some reason, could be the lack of sleep from the night before snigger, but all and all had another great time with my fellow kittens. Here are a few pictures I took. It was hard because of the way they where shuffling us through the line, but some of Michelle came out fairly good.

I can't stress enough how grateful I am to those kittens who represented us. First I cried at Iamyouknowyours's description. Thankyou so much for overcoming your nerves and showing him how you feel. It seems like you really got through to him (ohh and the Amber comforting...)



I giggled at how Xita blatantly ignored him, just like many others seemed to. She now recognizes you frequently, lucky girl. Ooh, and the 'hair' comment, what could be better than having your hair acknowledged by Amber?

I'm so happy. Finally, Amber's beautiful, gracious and loving nature has come through with the goods! Here she is, a film maker with thousands of fans, being continually recognized for her amazing work. And Joss...nothing.

Ok Part 2:



So Amber, she finally remembered me. We had a whole Ben / Glory thing going on, where she never remembered me. I had her sign the booklet from the cd then I put down the photo of her from Bama that I was going to get signed and she said, oh, do I get to keep this? I said, you get this one, and handed her the framed one. She thanked me and said she was going to hang it in her room. Even though there were no personlizations and only two items, first she personalized the photo for me, then she grabbed my comic, still out from having MT sign it and she signed that as well. She talked about how that was her favorite jacket in the picture, and how sad is that. She also picked up the comic and says to Michelle, "Michelle, you look sooo hot in this picture." After I finished with Amber, I was taking pictures as everyone else came down the line.

While I was taking pictures, Diane came over and said hello, we told her we were suprised to see them again so soon after Bama, she said she would see us again soon.



So we got rushed out of the store pretty quick, Tower employees always known for their politeness were just that and more.

So off to food, on the way to food, an interesting adventure of caravaning cars and many many cell phone conversations, we ended up at Dublins. You can see the actual rain in California in this picture.

Here we ate drank and made merry. Many many pints, though our Kristy Swanson looking waitress was rather uptight and really wanted to give us the bill long before we were ready.

Sparrow and I split a plate of mini burgers and some great buffalo wings.

We talked and drank, watched the Giants clinch their playoff berth and the Dodgers become eliminated.



We also got our homeless person report, now I haven't had time to make the Bama homeless person report yet, but this is another new feature. This weeks homeless person, was recently escaped from the church of scientology. I took his picture in exchange for one of Storm's cigarettes. He didn't mind if I posted his picture, just as long as I didn't post his joke that he wrote in my notebook. He also gave us some tea.

Eventually went left to torture the folks at Ralphs market, and back to the very strange HoJo we were staying at. Much hearty grog was consumed and eventually folks parted ways.



In the morning we watched a stunningly bad film on scifi channel before heading out. Now I am off to the angry rant thread to scream about my roommates daughter and how she trashed my place while I was gone.



It was great to see everyone again, and meet a few new kittens. Hope we get to do it again soon.
