Places, people, things around you that remind us of W+T

Postby WiccansIllusion » Sat Jul 27, 2002 7:36 pm

I've been wanting to start this thread for awhile, so here it goes. We all know of the infamous Tara's Willow Cafe, which reminds people obviously of our famous couple. What other such things in your town remind you?

In Evanston IL, there is a auto garage with the sign Maclay's. It very much reminds me of someplace her narrow minded family might run, her brother and father. Their those kind of sleeze balls. [ Not that all garage owners are, but you get my drift. ]

Tara nodded in agreement "She has magic fingers." Then, as though the words had just echoed back to her and sounded not at all right, she perked up and glanced around at the others. "On the keyboard."

There's this little boutique shop on main street in my town (I live in a suburb of Buffalo, New York) that's called Willow Tree. It's a cute little store that looks like someplace Willow and Tara might run someday (maybe during their retirement). Every time I pass it I think of them.

There's a street called Willow Lane, every time I run past it I think-i wanna live there, even though i wanna get outta this town!

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a town themed W+T? There could be extra flamey kebad house, 'lil pile 'o crackers cafe, snuggles motel, need I go on?

Underneath your clothes, there's an endless a story, there's the one I chose, there's my territory, and all the things I deserve for being such a good girl, honey.

There's a nursing home for old people in my town called Willowbrook.

On my way to work in the mornings I pass a housing estate called Willow Court, and coming home I pass a small industrial park called Tara Court.

I live in Brussels (Belgium), and downtown, there is a little shop with some wicca stuffs, spell books, herbs... and it's called "les petites sorcières" (the little witches). It's a really cool place and i like hanging there. That's remind me of the magic shop, and each time i go there, i think of willow and tara. Funny thing: the shop is run buy a nice guy who's gay.

When I'm driving from South Carolina to my parents home in Maryland, I drive through a town in North Carolina called Benson. I always think, how lovely it would be to stay in Benson.

Heh, I posted this already one time in a daily thread.

We have those trolley cars running through the city and the power cables that go over the streets have blue metal signs attached with either a W or a T on them. The blue is so Kitten-board-ish.

Dunno what they stand for, but it's neat :)

My son has an Allison (not Alyson) and an Amber in his preschool class. Ali is a redhead.

I used to drive by Willow Road on my way to work.

Course there is also a Bensonville here in Illinois.

I just saw a license plate today where the last 3 letters were NMR. So, of course, I smiled because it made me think of New Moon Rising :D

Willow made a small fist and waved it at her (Tara), and the 2 grinned in that secret knowing way lovers ever did. It amazed him now, looking back upon it, that he had not realized sooner that Willow and Tara were more than merely friends. -Giles, "The Wisdom of War" Willow and Tara's Love

Was in Tower Records yesterday, and when I was at the cash desk I noticed they had a rack with those little enamel badges that I had about a million of when I was a teenager. So nostalgia set in, and I went to have a look at them. There was one that had "vixen" on it, and I snorted with laughter, causing the girl at the cash desk to look wary. I just had to buy the badge!

Northern Chicago suburbs have lots of Willow things around. I live in Glenview - we have a restaurant called "The Willow on Wagner", there's Willow Rd as has already been mentioned (which is actually the boarder of Glenview and Northbrook in some parts and in other parts is in Northfield), there used to be a Willow Inn, but it's closed, there's Willowhill Golf Course (on Willow Rd) that used to be a garbage dump, there's a catholic high school called The Willows, I think. There are probably more, but I can't think of them right now :)

every classroom in the university reminds me of them.

and whenever my professors says the words "tree, chocolate, red, love..." or anything... i guess i'm pretty much saying that everything reminds me of them...

but being reminded of their love is another thing...

only the smile of this wonderful girl in school reminds me of their love in the deepest sense of it. *lovestruck*

I live on a street called "Willow Mount Avenue" which is less than a mile "Tara" park. There is a new neighbourhood being built locally 100 new houses to be named "Sunnydale Estate". So soon there will be a Sunnydale road. Sunnydale avenue......

There is a pub near my fathers house called "An Bosca Driocht" which is Irish and means the magic box.

Thats about all I can think of...for now.

Forever Amber & Willow House

Postby cpdm4444 » Wed Aug 07, 2002 9:01 pm

Looky, looky what I found: :eek

While driving around in Britain I found many places that remind me of Willow & Tara or rather Alyson & Amber.

I saw quite a few "Tara´s cafe" especially in Scotland and couldn´t stop smiling and recalling my favourite BtVS-moments :)

Unfortunately, I didn´t always take my camera with me but nevertheless I managed to take a picture of two very nice places. In my opinion the first one could be W&T´s shop where they sell various fabulous kinds of items including some magic stuff. Perhaps they could even employ Anya or Giles so that they´d be able to take some time off and enjoy their free-time at their beautiful home (see picture no.2). Oh well, I guess this is just my absurd imagination; or what do you think? :rollin

Anyway, hope you like the pictures. Enjoy. ;)

Well, living in Georgia there are tons of places that are named Tara...hmm, wonder why? Anyway, going to school everyday I pass a Tara Road, Boulevard, Street, just about everything is named Tara. When I was a kid I even used to swim at a place called Tara Beach. :)

So, I get reminded of w/t a lot.

Along my roadtripping adventures this wkend thru southwestern Missouri, USA...I drove past a sizeable sign noting the historic site of the "Maclay Home" in Tipton, Missouri. So, I would like to ask the kittens what other points of obscure interest they have discovered driving across the country? I'd also like to know if anyone has actually visited the Maclay home.

We have Willow Lane here in town, and my favourite tree at the local park has been this huge honking WIllow tree for as long as I can remember.

We also have a very cool pagan store, very homey, and they serve tea and scones and stuff, and it reminds me of something Tara and WIllow would run. Also, it helps that the first thing you see upon walking into the shop is a homemade poster of W/T doing a ritual with a heading of: "This store is protected by two Witchy Ladies! Shoplift at own risk of bad karma!"
