Hi there Cecile! *does a happy little dance*

I like the new drawing! well....it's technically older than the one you posted first, cause you drew it first.. but um... *thinks* you posted it last, so it's new to me! (there, that's it. )

(I think I might be confused!

)
anyway, I was so glad to come home from work to see that you posted another drawing.

I really like it lots. The only things I would say, is that the left eye seems a little lower than the right one, and the nose doesn't seem to be lining up properly in conjunction with the mouth, but that's not really a huge deal in the big scheme of life (that's why erasers were invented right?

)
I really like the way you've kept her clothes simple, with just a few subtle lines here and there to give the impression she's wearing something, instead of that something wearing her.

(sorry....that joke was kinda corny....

it's been a long day...

)
thank you. i'm glad you like it... yes, i did it from a photo... grid??? huh??? does that answer your question?
I'm sorry. I should have explained a little more

A grid is a set of clear squares (usually with a clear, photo-safe adhesive on the back) that you can set over your photo. You can then draw the same number of squares onto your Bristol (or paper of your choice) and then simply transfer the images you see in each square to the corresponding square on your paper. It's a great technique if you have trouble with proportions or lining facial features just right. (I hope that explanation was sufficient

)
ETA: Are you drawing with your paper flat on a table or other surface? Because if you are that might explain the facial-feature alignment issues. Drawing with your paper flat can cause a distorted image, but if you set your paper or Bristol on a drawing board and tilt it toward you at an angle as you draw that will help to alleviate any distortion. (if you don't draw on a flat surface and are already implementing the above technique, then please feel free to pummel me atop the head with some type of heavy-set object and tell me to keep quiet. )

but seriously..... feel free to tell me to keep my two cents to myself if the need arises.
xoxo
