A little depressing maybe, but very well written.

Thank ya kindly for the feedback and comments. I've written something non-sad, depressing. Hope you like it.

Midnight Melody

You were my beginning, untainted

Soft skin, harsh breath upon my neck,

Like midnight hours creeping,

Into the handmade dream,

Surrendered, bare, and painted,

On your temple, too pristine to wreck

The memories quietly sleeping,

Amid the sweetened cream.

It was love that led me to you on bruised

Knees, devoted to your curious touch,

Spilling onto the sheet—our song

Played against the glowing mahogany,

The firmness of your overused

Hips, fingers gripped, yearning to clutch

The fleeting whisper before it was gone,

Drowning in your rhapsody.

You have some really amazing work posted here. You paint these wonderful pictures with your words and I can't seem to stop myself from wanting to read more, it's pretty powerful. I do love the latest one.

Yvonne,

Sorry to have been so tardy in leaving feedback (my very big bad). Your poems are wonderful. Dark and brooding often carries the most impact - and wow!! what an impact.

Great work!! You've inspired me to unleash some long hidden words.

Cheers!!

Hey,
I love the lastest poems. I have to go back and read all the ones that I have missed. I am very bad. I haven't kept up at all.

Beautiful poem.

This was my favourite part the first time I read it:

"I felt known beneath her body, felt
these strange hands learning me,

even as I couldn’t know myself. No talk,
I enjoyed the rustling of sheets more

than her voice, more than the stifled whimpers
of the cold world outside, trying to sneak in."

Now I've reread it and have many more favourite parts. But I won't quote them all.

I really enjoy reading your poetry.

Firstly, I heart your username. Secondly, I don't know why but your poems remind me of Borges. It doesn't make sense, the genres don't really match, but after reading your poems, Borges would just NOT get out of my mind.

I close my eyes, grip the clouds, and pull them down

that would hafta be my favorite part. The one that kinda made me go :bounce

I...wow.... I haven't been pulled in by poetry like this in a long time. Yvonne this truly is amazing...

Quote:
Lucid fuel on your fingers,
I rush to get to you before dawn,

before your nipples soften
and the morning closes your eyes

Its impossible to turn away after reading those lines, you really know how to captivate your readers.

Quote:
and while your sigh barely reaches through the silence,
and your hand wanders through the sweat on your skin.

I am racing to get there, slipping on the rain soaked sheets,
you’re crashing, fighting hard to save the tears for me,

The imagery is fantastic...i love how this provokes such intense feelings, to sit here and have my legs tense up because i am this person running....amazing.

Please post more soon!
