confessions of a saint

Postby nazelhuts » Mon Feb 16, 2004 6:00 pm

thought i'd post one of my poems for the craic, and to see if anyone out there likes it or dislikes it, any opinion at all would be interesting! the words just floated into my head one day, as they do..

"No Potatoe"

Among the tall trees

stands a small tree

with a maltese connection

planted by a grumpy man

wearing a hat.

He shook hands with a farmer

the night before,

but lost the bet.

Now as he faces his demons,

sitting in front of a box,

twiddling his grubby thumbs

(soil still under the nail)

without his dinner,

he ponders,

"Is a man from Malta

a maltese man?"

thanks yvonne and sj! here's another poem i hope may be amusing. it's not as lovable as the last poem but anyway..

'communicapathy'

"i approve"

well whats to approve of?

i'm confused by your lack

of faith. faith in

what you claim is true.

your approval is the last

thing i would ask for.

even though there is a

gap in my own belief.

i believe in nothing.

but how can i not lie?

that is a belief in itself.

and you, with your hypocricy,

approving thin air.

oh, you said...

well thats alright then.

forgive my ears,

they are foolish.

magpie poem

go, reason, and see:

someone ate my sanity.

i fixed it and its free

within a cage of me me me.

one for sorrow

two for joy

three four five six

and enjoy

bring with you what you see true,

take it as it threatens you,

make or break or stick with glue,

thou art great when thou art new.

one for sorrow

two for joy

three four five six

and enjoy

"to be bitten or to spin?"

i've got coffee in my blood

i'll see you later

with a half off a potatoe

and a reason to be understood

a curse means nothing to an innocent man

i saw him walking

thinking that he was good looking

with an overbaked and orange tan

i want my tealeaves to be read

to see the funeral future

and which shade of grey will suit ya

even if your favourite colour is red

i've got broccoli in my blood

we're not a pretty picture

but we are the special feature

a tornado never looked so good

cheers for reading! here's two poems to show my appreciation!

"unchained"

a meaningless devotion

to a star without a name.

crush the ice cube into dust

and bear the blunt of shame.

raindrops shoot in motion,

star, still, but unchained.

wish the witch undo the curse,

the path from which we came.

"the nod"

the blood of the sun

dripped, dripped, dripped

until my senses woke.

nowhere to hide. trapped.

i longed to catch a fish.

a young fish,

too small to be missed.

but i was not the hunter,

only the hunted.

crazed ambitions

dangled, dangled, dangled

from a window-ledge

at the back of my mind.

they called me, i waited for

dark evenings, alone.

once the hunters were

satisfied, i gave the nod

to my senses, 'rest'.

:sheep here's more...

'le moth francais'

face to face

with a creature

furry, winged and brown

"je suis le moth francais"

the creature from beneath you

bores a hole inside your bed

it borrows from the hollow frame

and crawls into your head

no notion of emotion now

no longer feeling blue

you smell of hell and hatred

like the creature that turned you

***************

'curtain certain'

seatbelts fastened

off we go

not so certain

of the road

talk of friends

and broken toes

not so certain

of the road

'trust your instincts'

'you trust yours'

not so certain

of the road

arrival point

is last to know

welcome certain,

curtains closed.

here's a fairly new one, let it be known i have never been a nun and never will!! i came up with the name after i wrote it, anyway..

"why i left the convent"

crazy about life

enough to be sane

in times of doubt

say it over again

reach for the bible

of devilment days

a little too much

of envy for sale

twisted in cotton

balls to look good

a fire to raise

the temperature up

unread and unopened

the book will remain

in dust and in daylight

silence, a change?

when life boils your kettle, make tea!
