WTCD Poem Log

Untitled

1999

Happy is

As happy does

Moments ago

That was what I was.

I don't know how I feel

But I know there is pain

A wound that would never heal

A mind that's slowly going insane.

I just lost a friend

The only true friend I have ever had

She taught me how to clean my room

& put away all the ugly gloom

She taught me how to cook

& how not to always go by the book.

I just lost a navigator

Who always knew when to turn left

Or when to take a right

Now I drive through life without eyes

So when I'm stuck in traffic

I have no choice but to stay in it.

I just lost a wife

The only woman I will ever love

We shared our hopes & dreams &

Counted how many children we were to have

We laughed together

& took care of each other.

But my love & I have come to a screeching halt

A dead-end

Where the only path is up the wall

Or out the door.

I saw her walk away...

I heard the door slam...

I felt my heart break...

& now...I am none.

Thoughts

December 1996

I fall in love with new hopes and dreams

I feel alive and enthusiastic about things

And then love dies but never in me

Love fades away oh so cruelly

Then I am left alone once again

To sullk in darkness and in pain.

Though I wait for the next one to come

Wondering if she'll be like the other ones

Thinking if she'd be sweet and small

Or if she'd be bitchy and tall.

I wonder when I'll ever stop waiting

At times it gets so irritating

Never being able to find the one

Sometimes it's so frustrating.

But now, after all the thinking I've done

I guess I've finally solved this one

I wondered why love always died but not in me

I wondered why I waited so endlessly

And then one day, from out of the blue I just knew

That when love dies in me, too

And I stop waiting for someone new

This life that I have would have ended

And this heart of mine would have to be dead.

The Lady of My Dreams (A poem for Tara)

February 2003

On one October night

I was filled with much delight

The moon was so bright

Then the sun shed its light

For the lady of my dreams

Right infront of me, it seemed.

As she whispered my name

I thought I'd go insane

For love inside my heart slept

Now awake, off its feet swept.

My feelings aflutter

My speech in stutter

My hands would tremble

My feet did stumble

'Cause no one could see

Exactly what she did to me

The lady of my dreams

Infront of me, it seemed.

But then it came

And had no shame

One day in February

My mind began to worry.

The moon started to dim

And the sun lost its gleam

The flutter stopped

And the stutter, too

The tremble ceased

And the stumbles, too

Then I heard a tiny break

From my heart where it ached

The lady of my dreams

Infront of me, no longer seemed.

Wow, nice poem.

It's the passion in a kiss that gives to it its sweetness; it is the affection in a kiss that sanctifies it.
