Be with You
The rain is falling softly outside,
And yet I feel warm.
I love the very thought of you,
And I want to be what you need.
Thoughts unravelling,
In the distant heat of night.
Burdening pain,
Dying in the faith of constant flight.
Whispered words,
Of love and emotion.
Promises kept,
Lost syllables spoken.
Soulmates discovered,
Under a blanket of disarray.
Gathered and entwined,
To an assurance that will stay.
Gentle kisses,
Symbolise devotion.
Hidden love,
Surfacing to motion.
The stars are gathering outside,
In their humble constellation.
And you and I are wrapped up,
In an endless conversation.
You're on my mind,
You're in my blood.
You're pulsing through me,
Like a flood.
I curl up for the night,
With an image of love.
And a constant reminder,
Of fate struck from above.
I can feel you inside me,
See your comforting gaze.
And I know I will love you,
'Til the end of my days.
As this ink fades so shall I, its imprint a reminder...
