Drawn Together

Postby maudmac » Thu Oct 28, 2004 6:40 pm

Anyone watching Drawn Together on Comedy Central? It's on right after South Park, I think.

It's an animated reality series. Or, rather, an animated spoof of reality series. It's difficult to describe. It's a bunch of sort of archetypal cartoon characters all living together. It's poking fun at those archetypes as well as reality TV shows. Heh, it's poking fun at a lot of things.

Anyway, I thought it was hilarious. I haven't laughed out loud that many times watching a TV show since The Critic. It was the kind of laughing that's immediately followed by an "OMG, that is WRONG! That is just WRONG!" and then more laughing.

So many things go on that are just...wrong. But that's a big part of why I find it so funny. If South Park offends you, Drawn Together surely will. And if South Park doesn't offend you, Drawn Together very well might. It's definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

Here's a review - `Together' dances to edge of offensiveness.

This was totally offensive but yeah sometimes it cracked my shit up! Toot, being a cutter, man. They are just out to really offend everything and everyone.

Well, as hot as it might be to see Clara and Foxxy get it on (and when will Xandir come out?), I have my limits on scatological humor (how much poo-poo do we really need? I draw my limit at Mister Hanky!)

GG So I don't think I'll be a regular. But if there's any really funny bits, I'll wait to hear about 'em here. Out

very offensive. I laughed my ass off.

Loved seeing all the cartoon types sent up. I think Ling Ling is my favorite so far.

I am not sure if I'll be regular, but I'll try and catch it.

The whole offensiveness thing works so well here, in my opinion, because it is so pervasive. No one and nothing seems to be off-limits. Skewer him, skewer her, skewer them, as long as you're skewering me and us, too, I can dig that.

Taken out of context and viewed seriously, I don't think there was a single moment that wasn't offensive on some level. I could write an entire essay on how deeply wrong it all was. Well, no, I couldn't, because I'd just be laughing the whole time.

It's all kind of refreshing. Especially for one as uptight and PC as I usually am. I always have so much more fun when I take my Issues hat off.

Because...okay, "gaystation two"? :rofl

Ok now you made me download it. Will know more in a couple of hours.

Righty, I saw it. Logically I know the things they say and do are offensive, but when it is so overdone that is becomes funny I no longer find it offensive. They just make fun of everything and everyone, I thought it was amusing enough to download it again next week.

It is next week now, don´t tell me I am the only one who watched this. I am so glad I did not become a gynaecologist, I hope they get hazard pay.

I laughed my butt off at this show! :lol It makes for a great Wednesday night. South Park and then Drawn Together, two totally un-PC shows.

BTW, does anyone else watch the Kids Next Door? Cree Summers does the voice for Numbah 5 as well as Foxxy Love. That's just...wrong. Creeps me out whenever she speaks.

Ahh, gotta love the irreverent humor.

And tentacles? "Puissoir?" I thought my friends were the only ones who called it that! :rofl

It was less gross this time around and I appreciated that. IT was a much better episode. Really funny shit. I swear.

Less gross? You mean you think that tentacles coming out of a vagina is less gross than what they showed in the first ep? Man, I am still traumatized. Yes Holley, I confess an enchanted vagina does spook me.

G, I guess toilet humor is something I don't think is that funny, now tentacles in vaginas is not gross, and that's classic humor! :P Now, tentacles coming out of penises, that's gross!

This one was a good one. I hadn't caught the last couple. Oh I loved bleh and how she had a bet too. And then when they went on the ride, the guy holding up the "you have to be this special to get in" sign, looked like Gar... er... Corky! Heee, hee.

The show is hilarious -- it's so irreverent about absolutely everything. And yesterday's episode, well, what can I say, but that I won't be ordering sausage pizza for a while...!
