I just saw this on DVD and it's hilarious! She's a comic genius! She's so in your face and she doesn't hold back. Best moments:



-MC mimicing her mom when telling the gay dad story.



-MC mimicing her mom when she went to Israel.

I had been meaning to watch The Notorious C.H.O for awhile but never rented the DVD, so anyway, it came on the Sundance channel tonight and I loved it. Her words were gritty and real, not holding back or sparing anyone, and I really loved how she presented every joke. I won't list my favorite parts (mostly because of the content) but I would definitely recommend TNCHO to everyone, whether you're a fan or not.

Woo hoo! I got the Sundance Channel for free this past weekend, and was able to tape it!



Favorite lines (remembered, off the top of my head) :



"I can't believe it's pussy!"

The whole "If men got a period" routine---

She starts about how straight men don't want to hear about hers ("And considering the amount of my life that I have it, I barely mention it.") "Whereas, if straight men got a period, we would never hear the end of it. (Many funny straight-manisms, mainly involving "Dude!" and "Fuck!" ) "If straight men got a period, bachelors apartments would look like murder scenes!" "If gay men got a period . . . whaddayamean, 'IF'???" (Good thing Margaret's family, or she could never get away w/ this one )



Pantomime: "being fisted by a small lesbian" (looks up and punches the air)



Her trouble finding her G-spot.



Her ideal lesbian date "would be a woman who looks like John Goodman" (and then, in the closing credits, is a bulldyke who---self-admittedly---does look like John Goodman, who boasts "I could help her w/ her 'finding her G-spot' problem!" )



Problems w/ boyfriends: they don't understand the concept of "close" (as in "close to coming"). Boyfriend's alarmed inquiry "Why can't you just COME when I fuck you?" "BECAUSE I CAN'T JUST COME WHEN YOU FUCK ME!!!"



This was obviously taped early in 2002 (not long after 9/11 and the anthrax scare):

Fox is considering a comedy project from Regency TV with comedienne Margaret Cho which Cho will co-exec prod with Susan Dickes who will also write the script. The concept will revolve around a character Cho has been doing in her standup for years based on her own mother, called Mommy, who is at the center of this multi-generational setup.
