UK Big Brother

Postby MadeinNZ » Sun May 30, 2004 5:40 am

BB5 started here on Friday. In the last series the producers got slammed for having too many "nice everday people" in the house. So they've gone to the opposite side of the spectrum (not that these people aren't nice or everyday). Here's what we have:

Camp gay man (who doesn't like asylum seekers taking from this country)

Asylum seeker who is working here

Gay man who hates camp gay men

Exhibitionist who loves his body (and went in wearing a thong - eww)

Straight guy who thinks he is the most intelligent contestant they've had (but had real problems with their first simple task)

Militant feminist lesbian (who made a complete fool of herself by abusing the crowd when she entered)

Woman who has just had a sex change

Various pretty girls

Should be fun. Are you watching? Questions, comments?

Just to clarify, that woman who had a sex change, is he a dude now or is she a woman now?

You may thanks the Netherlands for Big Brother btw. It has aired here 4 times. The first time it was won by an obnoxious pretty boy. The second time it was won by a bisexual woman. The third time it was won by a lesbian (that was the same year Kelly, our very own world famous and very lovely MTF transsexual was also part of the house. She was popular for a long time until she became a bit too whiny. She is cool though). I have no idea who won it the forth time. It has not aired for a couple of years.

Just to clarify, that woman who had a sex change, is he a dude now or is she a woman now?

There's also a bisexual girl who "loves porn" and wants to be a glamour model. The militant lesbian used to be a prostitute; she tried to take a stand against BB in the first Saturday task and ended up losing all of her luggage. The asylum seeker is a strict Muslim who "doesn't like gay people", and is getting cosy with Nadia (who hasn't told anyone in the house that she used to be a man).

It's actually a lot duller then it sounds atm.

I promised myself i wouldn't watch it this year. I spent all of last year slamming it cuz i thought it was SO boring!! But alas, there i was, watching the last ever episode of Friends and BB comes on straight after it.... i couldn't help myself. Took one look at Marco (camp gay man), heard it was going to be "evil BB" this year... and i got hooked again. *sigh* Ah well... here's hoping this time i don't get so sucked into it i actually find myself watching them sleep at 4 in the morning... yeah, i know, Ginner: the kitten without a life:wink Still, it's been okay for now. thought it would be really bad... but they've basically put in so many people that they know will clash, it can't stay boring for all that long. Or that's what i'm hoping anyway. I'm waiting for the very first all out fist fight to happen. Although i do think Kitten (Militant feminist lesbian - and yes, that's actually her name!) is well on her way to being smacked....

I'd smack her! And not in a good way.

Actually, I felt a bit sorry for her yesterday. She really has some socialising problems and has already set herself apart from the group. And then she does something stupid and I just want to smack her again.

Oh goodie, free publicity for the board. :D This sounds more like the best of Jerry Springer than anything else. A perfect collection of stereotypes.

I think that 'the best of jerry springer' is a great way to describe it!!

Im glad to see Im not the only kitten who's hooked, I have been up watching it live on channel 4 til at least 2.30am the last few nights :lol Im very impressed with BB this year, they've really chosen a great bunch after last year. I mean come on, the winner of BB4 was a 32 year old virgin fisherman who's favourite saying was 'Man alive!'

So yes, I think this one should be...interesting, to say the least. I just hope Jason stops flashing his ass at every opportunity, its not even that nice LMAO

Lol. No Willowsgirl, you're not alone. And i agree, they do have a really good line up this year. Lots of conflicting personalities. You might have a point with the Jerry Springer thing.... i mean, Kitten's already throwing furniture around :wink All we need now is some hill-billy sleeping with his sister, and a daughter having a lesbian affair with her dad's girlfriend and we're sorted. ;)

Well some people have been saying we are all crazy militant lesbians, and here is the proof, hee. Funny stuff, too bad I don´t get channel 4. It´s just aunty beeb for me and I think she is still recovering from Dana International winning the Eurovision 6 years ago, so I do not expect to see this particular group of people on my TV any time soon.

Ginner WTluv- I can so imagine that jerry springer situation, Marco would be in the background screeching 'Jerry! Jerry!' :lol

Then again, I dont think we need any furniture throwing or sleeping with dad's girlfriends, we already have some future shows in the making; roof climbing, secret transexuals, rebellion and half naked mud wrestling- what more could you want?

Yeah I have to admit I thought of the board when I heard kitten's name, though her personality doesnt exactly remind me of the people here :lmao Her latest 'mini revolution' is to refuse to nominate, leave the house, or well...anything BB asks her. Nice girl that one lol.

Stacey you're right... Kitten gives us all a bad name!;) As much as i wanted to support any members of the gay community going into the house this yeah, she's really starting to bug me now. Lol. "i have a problem with obey rules" then don't play the bloody game!! Jeez...

And now i'm stuck with images of Marco screaming "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!" at the top of his voice and jumping around the BB house clapping....:lmao

LOL I can so imagine Marco jumping around saying 'Jerry, Jerry, Jerry', it's something he would do. To begin with i didn't like Marco, he annoyed me when he went into the house jumping around and acting up to the cameras, but he's kinda growing on me, i'll probably love him by the end of the programme! Kitten does piss me off with her immature ways and those two fingers that are permanetly up at Big Brother at every possibility, and i have to admit i was slighty happy when she nominated herself and lost her suitcase, but.........i can't help but feel sorry for her. I think she lacks that part of the brain that tells her to SHUT UP!! and think before she speaks. Who knows, maybe she'll sort herself out.

Can't stand the bird with the black hair and the funny mouth, can't think of her name sorry! The one who told everyone she was bisexual and has slept with a women before but her parents don't know (erm....HELLO!!.....they do know!!), where did they get her from??

Victor is just a big headed vain bloke that thinks everyone loves him, not to keen on either. To be honest there isn't really anyone i was instantly drawn to, although Shell's quite nice What does everyone think about nominations, who's gonna go??

Postby willowsgirl » Wed Jun 02, 2004 5:08 am

Hey, me again! Veiled isis moon yep, I love Shell too! She's just so nice, but she can also be very cheeky too :p and how much did I love her naked chef routine? ;)

I know what you mean about the black-haired girl, her name is Michelle. She can be very attention seeking, I actually feel sorry for poor Stuart with her coming onto him every ten seconds :lol Then again, who isnt attention seeking if they go on big brother :hmm

I actually like Nadia, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Seems like theres still a hell of a lot of prejudiced people out there. I actually feel a little sorry for her, it seems like she doesn't quite know how to approach it, and I think the only reason she hasn't told them is cos she wants them to get to know Nadia-the-person before making assumptions based on her past.

Im sure my opinions will change over the weeks, but I think the first nominations will be.....well, as much as I hate to say it, kitten...and the second one..well, if Jay keeps getting his ass out every minute of the day, it could end up being him. Though Im not sure Dan would vote him out :flirt

I never watched BB before and was assured by some members of my family and many friends that I was missing something. I watched the first night, and seen snippets since, and have come to the conclusion that I don't like any of the housemates. I can't watch something where I don't have an interest in the people, so I won't be watching this series either.

On the subject of Kitten, I think she's portraying a very negative image of lesbians. My gf said "oh great, the stereotypical depressed lesbian", and she's right. Kitten has not made friends in the house or with the viewers. She didn't obey the rules, and according to her family she's making up preposterous lies about herself. It seems to me that she seems to like trying to shock people. In her interview she just kept going on about how she was gay - saying nothing at all about her personality. Personally, I think she has a lot of growing up to do.

Personally I think they've gone overboard. They've put all these people in there to try and cause conflict cos that's what people want to see but I think they could end up with too much conflict and that's just boring.

I really wanted to like Kitten when I heard she was a lesbian and especially so when I heard she was an animal rights activist too but she seems to go out of her way to make people hate her.

What a stroke of BB genius. The group turned on her immediately. Her claims of unfairness were crap. She just got outplayed.

Best bit of the night was when Marco went into the diary room sobbing his little heart out and what did BB think needed clarifying? "Marco, how are you?". :eyebrow 10 points for crack observation BB. "Um, fine thanks BB. Just testing to see if my tear ducts were still working. And yes, I can confirm they're good to go. Thanks for asking."

Hey Ginner WTluv (and everybody else!)

Well Im sure you all saw last nights episode where kitten was given her 3rd warning and the housemates were told that one person will be evicted anytime. Well it hasnt happened yet, but last night beats that! :lol

BB gave the HMs some alcohol, they ended up playing truth, kiss or dare, and resulted in girl on girl kissing, dan licking nutella from jasons buttocks (haha) and finally a discussion led by dan on the finer points of gay sex :lmao

After all that, Michelle and Stuart got very very close, kissed, and quite possibly made UK big brother history by getting it on in the bedroom while Dan watched wide eyed! :lmao

So yup, theres some gossip for ya :p Its safe to say that in the first week of this series, these housemates have been more fun than the entire 4th series lol

Sorry to disapoint, but no its not her real name, its Kathryn. It was in a news article on the tesco.net home page today, stating that she is due in court on Wednesday.

And yes, I agree, she is sooooooooo annoying and gives lesbians such a bad name.

Yeah, but it was her actual name on the show.

I'm glad she's gone but I kinda wished Big Brother would have done nothing, waited until all the housemates had forgotten about it and then in a few weeks suddenly said they were evicting one of them.

Postby willowsgirl » Fri Jun 04, 2004 5:41 pm

True, Cazzie, but I did like the way BB planned everything tonight. It was obvious that Kitten wouldnt leave the house of her own accord, but I so wasnt expecting what happened tonight. For anyone who didnt see it, BB planned for this and when kitten refused to leave they put up the 100,000 prize money on a big screen and told her that for every second she didnt leave the house, the prize money would go down by 1000 pounds! By the time she finally left it was down to 91,000 hehehe. That soon got her moving :fallen

And Im not gonna talk about the Michelle and Stu thing any more cos after seeing it I actually felt quite sick :lol

Me too!! What really got me laughing though, was some of the things Michelle said while they were in bed.... i was screaming at the tv. "For the love of god women!! You're on national Tv saying these things!! Think!!" :rofl

But BB caught me totally off guard when Kitten refused to leave the house. Lowing the prize money! Lol. Excellent idea. You're right though, that soon got Kitten shifting. Wonder what it'll be like in the house now without her.

And OMFG! Girl on girl action in the BB house. woohoo!;)

One thing i did want to ask though, and it might be a stupid guestion... why is she appearing in court?

Im not sure why she's appearing in court, possibly for an offense prior to the show? As Victor said, she's more unstable than Rik Waller on a 3 legged table, so it wouldnt surprise me! :lol

And yeah I know what you mean about Michelle, I was cringing so much. Did you notice that all the subtitles were for her speaking? Stu just lay there in stunned silence as she went on to say (and yes, she said this, and yes, im sorry for repeating it!) 'you can squeeze my baps if you like' and 'oh stu, you make me so horny everytime i see you' How romantic! :lmao

I thought Marco would irritate me big time but I'm starting to like him. Victor's also starting to grow on me. But what's with Michelle and Stuart in bed, all that stuff about "Do you want to touch my bap?". Strange pillow talk. And they say romance is dead.

An article in the Independent carries an interview with her dad, who it appears is somewhat less than enamoured over Katheryn/Kit/Kitten's behaviour on BB, saying that a lot of what she has said is pure b/s

If I find a link I'll post it.

Now why am I posting here? I hate BB, and all that it stands for. God, I 've been ensnared by the triviality of it all Argh!!! :rage :rage : :wtf

Re: UK Big Brother quotes

Postby undertarasspell » Sat Jun 05, 2004 9:02 am

I'm rooting for Emma to win, she's a bit dim but really funny, examples:

(Talking to Vanessa about what to eat)

"Mmmmm we can have an omelette, yeah we can have an cheese omelette.... with mmmm yeah with eggs.. Yeah we can have a cheese and egg omelette"

(On the origins of the term 'Big Brother')

"...that book in the olden days that predicted everyone was going to be watched by cameras, with Will Smith in"

(Saying that the only way to guarantee privacy is to become a tramp)

“They have a private life. Maybe that’s why they want to be tramps. They don’t want to be watched.”

Kitten said this, but it was still pretty strange.

"We could turn the Big Brother House into a squat. The first televised squat, bring some homeless people in the House."

Victor: "(about Kitten) She's about as stable as Rik Waller doing Riverdance on a three legged table!"

I'm beginning to think this may be scripted or something because that was just hilarious.

I think I'm getting hooked again... oh well.
