I was pleasantly surprised by the BBC! I thought this would have been more of Channel 4 thing. I really liked it! I've bought the book from Amazon to read afterwards! I had not heard about it untill my girlfriend taped it. She thought that the Sex scene was too much (she's a prude!)but I dissagreed, some critics have been claiming that it was 'Lame' but I think its been done really well. It wasn't a case of hey look the lesbians are shagging! And there was a bed cover involved! Sometimes Its whats not seen thats sexier, or maybe thats just me! I'm really looking forward to the next one! Proof that british T.V ain't all that crap!

Arg...I had no idea there was a celluloid version of this. I loved the book, though many of my friends hated it. I've been on a Sarah Waters kick since then.

From the woefully short clip of Tipping that I've seen, I must say that both Hawes and Stirling are very hot. I also agree with Divine Princess Fuchsia that Rachel is...especially attractive. It's times like these that I wish I lived in England.

I just checked the ch4 RI:SE website incase they had archived the interview in clips or transcript and it's total crap, all they have is a mini bio of their 7 presenters. No interesting content at all



So hopefully someone will have video clips up soon.



I know that TtV is about Nan but I really wish Keely had done some promotional work. She seems such an interesting character herself

That ep was probably the most sexually explicit thing I've ever seen on TV. Pretty darn enjoyable too. Nice to have some guaranteed cliche-free entertainment.

I have to agree that it wasn't as good this week. However, I counted three dildo appearances. The first one, the gold one and the rather incriminating last one. Hope that's not giving too much away. It strayed away from the book quite a bit tonight. Maybe that was the difference this week, less Sarah Waters and more Andrew Davies. Whatever it was it didn't work as well. I'm now a little more concerned over this comment by Keeley Hawes,

"It's true to the book. Except for a slight change at the end."



So far I haven't liked the changes Andrew Davies has made. It was still enjoyable though and I'm really looking forward to next week.

Keeley Hawes clearly and explicitly states that she is bi. The exact quote from the Diva interview is,

Well on quick glance the only place I see it mentioned is in the opening couple of lines of the article. It reads....



"Rachel Stirling and Keeley Hawes are bowled over. In fact, the young stars - hetrosexual and bisexual respectively - of the television adaptation of Sarah Waters' epic love story, Tipping the Velvet, appear to be more excited than kids at Christmas about their participation in the soon-to-be-screened trilogy.



I read somewhere else, maybe on the BBC site for TtV www.bbc.co.uk/drama/tipping/ that Keeley had been married but was now with a co-star from her show 'Spooks' (a bloke) and she had a kid. Also, I'm sure there was something else about their boyfriends watching it and telling them 'you didn't tell us there were tongues'!
