I saw Cars today and I have to admit that I liked it. The movie started off a little slow but really picked up speed (hehe... pun intended) toward the middle and it just kept getting better and better from there. Not to mention that the graphics were AWESOME! And the scenic backdrops were beautifully done.

I would recommend this movie. 4 stars, BABY!

I just saw Over the Hedge and thought it was very funny. Not in the same genius league as Shrek, but still very enjoyable. And even my Mum liked it which is a very rare and wondrous thing :smug

Love love love this movie. And I agree, it does a great job with the book, something too few King movies do. I could watch this one over and over again.

jurassic park!- agen how lame am i?

Not lame at all! Yeah, Jurassic Park is a big popcorn movie, but it's a *good* big popcorn movie IMO, and there are too few of those. It's fun, with good effects and a good cast. I see Speed and Independence Day as movies in a similar vein.

And, because it's on television right now, I love Face/Off. Yeah, the premise in so implausable that the word implausable doesn't do it justice, but I don't care. Travolta and Cage are both good, especially their over-the-top-ness as Castor Troy. I like the guy who plays Castor's younger brother, Pollux. Seeing CCH Pounder is always a treat, same with Gina Gershan. The "Over the Rainbow" shootout is awesome. And I heart Joan Allen. Such a fun movie.

Wow, you're like the only other person that I know that has even seen this movie. I liked it as well and own it on DVD. So if it's lame, that makes two of us...lol.

I rented Date Movie last night... and since there is no thread for "I didn't hate it" I guess i'll post about it here.

I didn't hate it... but I didn't completely love it either... this movie went sort of in between for me. I thought the first 30 seconds of the movie were brilliant (especially when she busted out the apartment doors and then proceeded to do The C(K?)rump across the street.. (I wonder if that is really AH droppin' it like it's hot or if they got a stunt dancer to "drop it" for her? ) :lol

Anyway...blah, blah, blah couple funny moments and not a total waste of four bucks. (if for that before mentioned dance sequence, alone :D )

We've been watching movies at night while trying to get the baby to sleep (I know, embarrassing). But they have to be pretty sedate. We've now watched the newest Pride and Prejudice 8 times and I must say that I really love the movie. This weekend I listened to an entire monologue from my sister-in-law about how not-accurate the movie is but I love it anyway. The scenery is beautiful and the discourse is just brilliant and funny and romantic. Now we're watching the 6-hour A&E version which we borrowed from a friend.

Well, since you're on a Pride and Prejudice theme, you may want to check out Bride & Prejudice. It could be a nice way to end your P&P run.

In case you haven't heard of it, Bride & Prejudice is a Bollywood rendition of P&P by director Gurinder Chadha (who also directed Bend it Like Beckham and What's Cooking). It's colorful, the music is good, it's sweet, it's fun. It's a total feel-good movie. And the fact that the lead is one of the most beautiful women on the planet doesn't hurt either.

I just watched Saving Face and can't say enough good things about it. It is a lesbian movie that stars a chinese couple...but it is more than that really. Incredibly funny and very sweet. If you want a good movie to cuddle up with I'd recommend it :)

I've been rewatching the Lord of the Rings movies and love them so much. Impressive, tear inducing, epic and heart warming.

Unfortunately she doesn't get much screen time but Cate Blanchett is absolutely perfect as Galadriel.

Did you ever see the bit she did on Mad TV...where she was learning the Crunk? Absolutely hilarious!

Anyway, I finally saw Brokeback Mountain What an incredible movie! Having seen this as well as Crash...I think they were totally robbed...Brokeback Mountain was definitely the better movie...any movie that moves me enough to cry is a damned fine movie...and I actually found myself identifying with the characters...then again I felt the same way when I saw the Bridges of Madison County...but we don't need to go into that part of my history...anyway, gorgeous cinematography and exceptional performances all around...I knew Jake Gyllenhal (sp?)could act (although I do prefer his sister) but who knew Heath Ledger was more than just a pretty face? Color me impressed and as always excellent work by Michelle Williams and the brilliant Ang Lee...as was said several times in the special features section...I will never refer to it as "the gay cowboy movie" again...it's really an epic love story and so much more...Bravo

And just to get my lesbo street cred back...who did you think had the nicer boob shot, Michelle or Anne?

Not sure if it's been mentioned before - but one of favourite films is Ghost World (it has Scarlet Johanson and Thora Birch as the main characters) if you enjoy cynical movies you''ll probably like Ghost World.

It starts out more or less on the girls' graduation from high school, and shows how their friendship deteriorates and someone not really wanting to follow what others feel she should be.

Oh and umgaynow, I thought Anne's bob shot was...yum... :drool Now if only they'd make a lesbian version of Brokeback Mountain. :D

Well, I don't know if anyone'll ever do a lesbian version of "Brokeback", but it should be noted that Saturday Night Live did a very funny parody version with Alec Baldwin called "Brokeback Goldmine"---

Prey for Rock & Roll.

I wasn't sure I was going to like it expecting a very sad movie, a downbeat ending, and bisexual woman ending up with a guy, but I really enjoyed it. Although some terrible things happen to the girls they end up living the life they want to live and doing what they enjoy which I saw as a very positive ending and I like Marc Blucas and the character he played so had no problem with Jacki ending up with a guy.

Also Gina Gershon, Lori Petty and Marc Blucas looked pretty damn good. :)

I just bought the X Men triology (a bargain, 25 bucks for the whole set!), and can you say....OBSESSION?

While in theater's I saw xmen3 about 4 time's. Since buying all of the movie's last Tuesday I've watched all of them about 3 times.

Hugh Jackman is quite the amazing Wolverine. I love the girl who plays Roque, as well as Shawn Ashmore who plays Iceman.

I cant wait to see if they make a 4th film. And Ive heard that they are making a Wolverine movie with Hugh Jackman reprising his role!

Can you say...YUMMY?! :party

I saw Brick last week at the movies and loved it. I thought I would enjoy it, given that I love film noir but I wasn't expect such terrific performances from the actors, especially Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who is extremely talented (and fantastic in Mysterious Skin too).

The whole movie felt as though it was up in your face, really claustrophobic whether the scene was outdoors or in a basement. For someone like me who really notices and values good writing in a film, the dialouge was fantastic, exposition noir style at its best!

My partner thought it was a bit slow so it's not everyone's cup of tea but see it if you like noir, or just want something a bit different to the normal, stereotypical poptart films that normally get churned out

For those of you who like slightly politicaly-centred films, or ones dealing with woemn's issues, or jsut weirdo's with strange interests (like moi). :P A British film called Vera Drake is a must see IMO.

It's set in 1950, and basically deals with abortion in that era. I won't say too much, so as not to spoil anything. But it's very interesting, and the acting is very good too.

Great title! Hehehe...and to whoever it was that mentioned Bride & Prejudice I totally agree...you stole my movie! I especially agree about the lead actress being the most beautiful woman on the planet...wow(Of course Amber is a close 2nd...and hey, I've been watching Six Feet Under, I think Lauren Ambrose would be an excellent choice to play Amber's sister in something, there is a resemblance there that I can't quite pin down...but it's there)

So since Bride & Prejudice is taken...I'll recommend The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill...so refreshing to see somthing genuine instead of all the usual Hollywood claptrap

have you ever seen "the Wall"? I've just seen it and it has impressed me a lot! not that I absolutely love Pink Floyd but it's good, not my generation though.
I had heard the music and "the wall" album specially touched me but this movie has completely amazed me, specially the sequences where it uses animations...it's beautifull but very raw....
really if you feel something inside when you listen to rock give it a try.
it has no dialog, all the plot is explained with images and music...a great work in my opinion!

My most loving movie when i was little were Aladin !
I remember the very first time i wached it, my sisters and I were late, and the film were already playing; i was soo mad at them since then.
They buy me the film, and i couldn't going to sleep without my Aladin ! lol
Now i think about that, it's funny.

Now, there are so many movie i love !

They are the ones whose are inescapable like: Titanic, Matrix ( the first !), Pirates of careanban, X-men 1 & 2 & 3 , the all big productions.

The ones whose are not even in cinema (most french movies) like le bossu, Taxi 1 & 2 & 3, jeux d'enfant.

The ones whose are about love ! Big classic like Bodu guard, Moulin Rouge.....

Yeah, Cube is a very good movie. I haven't seen the rest of the trilogy, but the first one had solid acting and a very spooky plot. Simple plot, really. People are trapped inside a set of cubes without food or water and must find a way to get out alive, with there being deadly traps in many of the cubes.

Oooh... I saw that movie years ago. I found the premise quite interesting, had no idea there was a trilogy though. I remember at the end one of characters dissappears into some sort of light, and was left thinking "wtf?"
