Usually i dont get upset about movies being made based on true stories but i saw the trailer for this and i am shocked that they would try and make money off of the unfortunate events. Apparently the real karla will be narrating some of it, but she didnt want to get paid for it because she thought it was wrong........hmmm.

Has anyone else heard of it?
I hope they dont make the movie seem as tho we should sympathize with her. Am i the only one who feels this way?

I saw a commercial for this the other day. I wasn't too thrilled, either.

Oh my gosh, that is in SUCH poor taste. But, leave it to Hollywood. Here's a quote from the "Trivia" section of IMDB that really says it all:

Despite the true crime events having occurred in Canada, nobody in the Canadian industry wanted to be involved with this project. So it was filmed entirely in the United States with an all American cast and crew.

I can certainly see why Karla Homoka didn't accept money for this; if she had, there probably would have been a lynch mob. Except it's Canada, and they don't do that there - perhaps a strongly worded editorial. ;)

When Paul Bernardo and Karla Homoka were arrested, I was in Canada for my cousin's wedding, and one of the things the pastor said in his remarks - AT THEIR WEDDING - was that they should "remember that two is company, three is a crowd. Paul Bernardo forgot that two is company, three is a crowd." We were all stunned, and like WTF? I guess Americans don't have a monopoly on bad taste (just the lion's share).

Oh my God...that's horrible...It's my feeling that there is enough violence and horrible acts performed everyday in the world; why add to the negativity by filming a movie about it?

Ya gotta admit, this is even bad by American standards.

Well, I won't pay to see it.
