I think I might bid on it.

Time flies by when the Devil drives.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end.

OMIGODDESS Rita! (We could have a thread for her alone :drool )

I grew up a huge Fred Astaire fan (I'll save that passion for another post), so of course knew about Rita the Dancer: You'll Never Get Rich and You Were Never Lovelier (ain't that the truth!).

Y'know, Rita's one of those women who I can say, in hindsight, "outed" me. I had this fascination for her when I was about 14-15: I flattered myself I could look like her (even parted my hair in the same place :p ). I told myself it was just "idol worship," but now I know that she definitely was Turning Me On. :devilish

. . . but she had a really tragic life. All those broken affairs and marriages (dammit, I can't remember where I heard Rita's famous quote referenced recently: "Men go to bed w/ 'Gilda' but they wake up w/ me." :spin ) And then Early Onset Alzheimers: hell of a way to go. :(

GG Her legendary beauty, however, will Never Fade. :heart Out
