Wow, what a trip down memory lane. I pop back in every so often just to see who's still around. It always make me smile to think that the board is still here.

I've been in and out of a lot of fandoms, but I was never so excited to see new episodes of a show as I was with Buffy after finding the Kitten. It introduced me to spoilers. I think I have a text file buried somewhere with some random quotes from Yahoo chat. Good times.

Wow, I only vaguely recall that. I was probably a lot more creative back then than I remember. :D I actually just found a very short quote file I still have hanging around, so I'll send that your way. Good to see you're still around. This a great project.

There has been a lot of recent progress on this, including a few really surprising things. I am on a October deadline for several big things..

It's fun to see some familiar oldtimey faces around here. (Hey Xita, Rally, Bob, Kieli, Big Red Font G, and all the rest! And dude, where are Brian, Len and Adrienne?) Thanks for reaching out, drlloyd. Kitten fandom was hugely influential for me as a writer and a budding geek. The rough times in the fandom were pretty brutal, but I remember lots of good times on the old board, in nightly Kitten chat, and at the San Diego get together. My soft spot for this community lives on. Glad it's still here.

Hey Az!
It's 98% done, and I admit it would have been released almost a year ago if it wasn't for the untimely death of a family member and myself being so obessive. I am actually only missing 2 or 3 small things. But those 2 or 3 things can wait.
Is labor day (of this year)a good deadline?

Sure, labour day makes a fine deadline.

I have no clue when that is, but hey, any deadline is good:)

Looking forward to this. :bounce

Gather around Cats and Kitties, and let me tell you about the year book.

Right now it survives on as the "How we became Kittiens" thread, but buried in yahoo groups
two dozen or so people laboured on to build what Bob described on June 5, 2001 as
" our book would be created first and foremost as something we
can send to Joss, Aly and Amber so they could see how much their work
has meant in all of our lives. If we want to print extra copies for
board members or perhaps get Froggy to list them with the mugs and
mousepads and shirts, we can do that too. "
Here is a screen shot of the table of contents

Image

There was a flurry of work that stopped short after the July 4 spoilers were published... 100+ posts in the first month with lots of new content
There were a slew of people who put in work for this, but the two editors were BBOvenguy (Bob) and
Anneke Sinnema (whose sig was 'She Who Is Addicted To Smilies And Uses Them In Nearly Every Sentence :/'')
It was a love letter to the community and the board it grew from. It is a great snapshot of the most exciting and optimistic
part of our journey, when it seemed all the Trauma thrown at the girls was over and we could look forward to season six of
pure good stuff.

There was a fair share of fanart
With romance

Manga style Shojo-a/Yuri

and some old fashioned smut

The last "real" post was on November 14 by Bob who wrote
"

Now we've got things in the Buffyverse taking a turn for the
drastic. It looks like we could have an extended period of W/T
badness ahead of us. What do we do with that? Hold back until we
see how the current story arc resolves? Or try to push the book
ahead as a way of helping the Kittens get through? Or what if we
dropped the idea of a printed book for now and tried to put an online
version together as a way of helping Kitten morale? Would that be
doable?"

"
and the reply was from a poster named Joy who said
"I think the best idea would be to hold off on printing til we are clear on the outcome of this. I am sure that the Kitties would love to see the work everyone has put into it and think happy thoughts of W/T. =)"

I love all the work you're putting into this :) You know you can hit me up anytime to bounce off or rant at if you need a sounding board!

Wow, so happy, so sad.
My emotions are confused.

I can almost taste the coming sense of betrayal.
All these years later, it still. Fucking. Hurts.
:(
So much work, which i suspect just burned to ash.

Anyway, nice work Doc, and the Pix are cool :)

I'm totally adding them to my collection, just so's you know :P
(My fav is the kissy one)

I look forward to seeing what other gems you dig up.
And as always, if there's anything i can do to help, let me know.
