That I can't just pop round to hers for a cup of tea and a chat and be more involved in her life.

Since February 2015, I started working on a 3,000 piece puzzle. I finally completed it on September 28th only to find out 1 piece is missing. lol. OMG!!!!!

I hate myself for being annoyed with my friend that when I ranted to her about how I've lived here two and a half years without making any friends (except for 1 that I don't like that much) she said she understands because it took her a while to make friends when she moved--except she moved two and a half *months* ago and already has friends there. I'm happy for her that she has friends, but also find that I'm kind of resenting her for it, and I hate myself for that.

I'm not really part of anyone's life. I was planning to visit home, but I realized no one really cares if I do; I asked my best friend if she wanted me to visit, and she gave a really noncommital response that translates to 'no', and my family didn't even bother to tell me when they changed the weekend that they're planning to celebrate the holidays. I barely talk to two of my three 'close' friends anymore, which I know is largely my fault but it mean that I'm not part of their lives. I have one friend where I live; we hang out once a week to eat dinner and watch TV, and that is the entirety of my social life. I'm not close to any coworkers. I'm 1000% replaceable. I do okay at both of my jobs (or pretty good at one, and okay enough not to get fired or kill anybody at the other), but I wouldn't be missed at either if I left.

I have no one, and even more than that no one has me.

Someone who is incredibly intelligent, yet acts like the stupidest, ditziest dumbass on the face of the planet. Maybe this should be in a different thread, like...'Things that irritate me beyond the scope of human understanding.'

I think we're all scared and worried at this point. I'm hoping for impeachment due to being a convicted felon after the court cases this month and next. A girl's gotta have hope, right?

I don't know if this is the right place for this... but the crappy feelings thread seems like it deals with heavier and more important stuff than the admittedly stupid thing that is bugging me right now.

It's stupid. It's so stupid.

You ready for the stupid?

Ok, so I am working on a new W/T fic... first one in YEARS. I've given myself a deadline to finish it, and it is fast approaching. I am only about maybe half-way through. Writer's block is not the issue. What is frustrating me is that I cannot seem to write/type fast enough to get it all down. Additionally, in spite of the inspiration flying fast and furiously, I keep getting distracted by "shinies". I'll get 3 or 4 pages down at a sitting, and still have plenty more whirling in my head to get down, but inevitably something will catch my attention and draw me out of focus.

Based on my own deadline, I don't have the time to be "dicking around" and yet...

Here I am doing just that.

Blargh!!

Ok... enough of this "poor me" nonsense...

Back to it...

Cheers
DW

Knowing you're never going to finish that *one* fic that's been stuck in your brain for the last 10 years.

Pouring your heart into a story, nervously posting the first part of it in hopes of getting encouragement to help you keep going, and instead getting no response whatsoever...

I wish I could help my mum out more financially with things. I always buy her lots of stuff for her birthday etc but I really wish I could make more of a solid financial contribution to her life to say thank you for everything. I know money isn't important but I still wish that.

I made tentative plans a few weeks ago to visit a friend weekend after next, but now they (or rather their housemate) have someone else staying with them that weekend. I hadn't checked in with my friend in a while and it's not like I'd bought my bus ticket yet or anything, but I had had it in my head for the last month that I was going. I'm bummed that I won't get to see them and spend a weekend in Seattle, and it would have been the perfect time for me cause it's right before my online class starts, but mostly I just feel like I don't matter. They made plans for the weekend we'd talked about and didn't bother to tell me (probably even forgot we'd talked about it) and it just... hurts a bit.

accidentally outing myself to my parents (again) didn't go so well, so stuff's pretty rough at home right now, plus i can't find a job so i don't really have the means to support myself if something happens

My crush on my new friend just keeps getting worse, and because I know she likes me too it is so much harder to not, like, want to be together.
She was in a poly relationship when we were first talking and it was my choice not to date because I don't do poly, but now she is single. Logically, I know that her being single does not magically mean she wants to be monogamous, and she's told me that she thinks it's going to be a while until she's ready for another relationship (monogamous or not) which also makes sense. But I can't help these thoughts that now we could be together.
But she doesn't think she would be a suitable parent and I'm planning to start the process to be a foster parent in a few months, and she hasn't indicated that she's over her "poly phase" as she put it, and she's very much in searching/figuring out her life mode while I'm pretty firmly ready to settle down... There are all these *reasons* why it would not make sense to date her, but dang, I really want to. Also I feel like a bit of a shitty person for just, wanting her to change her views without being willing to change my own - I hope that she'll decide she wants a monogamous relationship but have no intention of deciding I'd be okay with an open one, and I would want her to decide she could be a parent (or at least, like, have a relationship with a parent that could eventually lead to her being a parent or stepparent) but would in no way consider delaying my kid plans because she's unready/unsure. So basically even if we somehow did enter a relationship it would be extremely uneven and that's super unfair. But it sucks that I like someone for the first time in *years*, who actually likes me, and don't get to date her :(

I made a dumb choice today that I am now regretting.
I got the offer to go home early. I love holiday pay, but I thought if I got off early I'd be able to see my girlfriend for a bit. Probably a dumb assumption since I knew she was doing Thanksgiving with her roommate's family, but she's been there since early afternoon so I figured she must be heading out soon... I checked with her and she said she would like to see me, but now it looks like it's going to be hours before she's home - nearly the time I would have been off work anyway, and only 2 hours before I have to go to bed. So I gave up well over $100 to sit at home for an hour and a half, spend an extra hour on the bus, have maybe 2 hours with my gf, and have to get up half an hour early in the morning since I'll be leaving from her place... It felt worth it when I thought we'd have actual time together, but now it seems like a poor decision that was not well thought out.

Turns out, getting silly Christmas presents for your family isn't particularly fun when you don't get to see them open their gifts or even know whether they liked them. The money would probably have been better spent on my traditional holiday donation...

I'm turning 30 in two weeks, and I still feel like a dorky high schooler when it comes to socializing. I get so anxious, and I make so many faux pas. I want it to not feel this way.
