I heart mix CDs. Heart heart heart. I had't made one in a while, since my now ex-girl made me so many and I was always in stock. . . However, I've made two in the past two days now - the first is one where the first letters of the names of the song spell out my name and the second one I'll show you below.

I'm thinking this thread can be for the kittens to share their mix CDs. A pretty liner image would be nice, but if you don't have one a track listing alone is good too - maybe you could even request for another kitten to make a pretty liner for you, if you're so inclined!

Here's my girl. less. mix:

Geggy Tah - Sacred Cow

Rilo Kiley - Wires and Waves

The Cure - Strange Attraction

Ani DiFranco - Both Hands

The Margarets - Sound of Summer

Jill Sobule - Love is Never Equal

Lit - No Big Thing

Melissa Ferrick - North Carolina

The Vandals - My Girlfriend's Dead

Leona Naess - Peper Thin

Hedwig and the Angry Inch - Exquisite Corpse

The Butchies - Not Like Mine

Greenday - Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)

Bitch and Animal - Traffic

Eve 6 - Girlfriend

So! Mix away!

she's my everything

Sweetie, I'm a fag. I been there. - Tara (Dead Things shooting script)

A muscle cramp? in your. . . pants? - Tara (Older & Far Away)

So I thought I'd revive this thread since I was looking around last night and found this site where they have what's called Mix CD Mondays. People submit mixes and one gets reviewed every week. So I got ambitious and wanted to know more about it, so I emailed the guy. Basically he's looking for any type of mix imaginable with anywhere from 5 to 10 songs of various artists. Typically my mixes have at least 20 tracks and center around at theme, so I figured 5 to 10 of anything would be a breeze. So I brainstormed a bit and came up with 9 songs. I didn't want to get too crazy and stuck with "safe" stuff since I've never met the guy and this is the first I've submitted. It's untitled right now (and may very well stay that way unless I get some sort of brilliant epiphany or something) but here's the track list:

1. Curve That Byrd - Head of Femur

2. Gentlemen and Big Mistakes - The Pieces

3. Something Isn't Right Here - The Juliana Theory

4. Our Town - The Army of Freshmen

5. In The Same Lifetime - Spitalfield

6. Something Anything - Five Star Theory

7. Shu Shubat - The Anniversary

8. Konstantine - Something Corporate

9. Closing The Door - Time To Fly

It's mostly mellow and sort of a downer in places, but it has it's moments. Hope you like.

WiccanIllusion- The Matchbox 20 song is called Kody, the main chorus is

"so please hand me a bottle, i think I'm lonely now

and please give me direction, I think the hurt set in

and I don't feel nothing, yet"

Its a pretty good song, decent melody and lyrics.

Its off their first release 'Yourself or Someone Like You'

I made an all 80s mix for my name. Why all 80s? Well, besides the fact that 80s music is incredibly awesome, just like these songs, I was released in the 80s too, I guess you could say. The songs are:

She Bop - Cyndi Lauper (1983)

Always Something There To Remind Me - Naked Eyes (1983)

Rock You Like A Hurricane - Scorpions (1984)

Addicted To Love - Robert Palmer(1989)

Head Over Heels - Tears For Fears (1985)

Bizzare Love Triangle - New Order (1986)

Everybody Have Fun Tonight - Wang Chung (1986)

Take On Me - A-Ha (1985)

Hangin' Tough - New Kids On The Block (1988)

Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield (1981)

One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head (1984)

Need You Tonight - INXS (1987)

Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic - The Police (1986)

Space Age Love Song - A Flock Of Seagulls (1982)

I don't want to go to summer camp. I don't want to be a certain way. Sitting in the nurse's office. Thinking about coming home today. I'd rather write stories of people who sin. All the lives of decadence! Can you believe the future of a boy who only grew to find there's nothing left?

wiccanwiggle,

Off the top of my head, I can come up with a few songs about friends.

1. Friends by Bigwig from the album Stay Asleep.... Basically it's about true friends.

2. Friend by H2O from the album Thicker Than Water. It's a song to a friend about how you're just there to help.

3. When I'm With You, I'm OK by Ultimate Fakebook from the album Open Up And Say Awesome. It's about how life isn't always great but when friends are around it's not so bad.

4. Goonies 'R' Good Enough by A New Found Glory from the album From The Screen To Your Stereo. It's a cover of the Cyndi Lauper song from The Goonies soundtrack. That whole movie centers around friends, so I think that's pretty self-explanatory.

5. Jukebox 86 by Useless ID from the album No Vaction From The World. It's just reminiscing about childhood friends.

6. Roundabout by Tsunami Bomb from their demo. You can find it on the Kung Fu Records compilation Punk Rock Is Your Friend. It's slightly different from (and better than) the Ultimate Escape album version. It's about the band and life on the road, but it hits on how they've got each other and other great things to keep them going.

I hope that helps you out a bit.

It's okay to be angry and never let go. It only gets harder the more that you know. When you get lonely if no one's around you know that I'll catch you when you're falling down. We came together but you left alone, and I know how it feels to walk out on your own. Maybe someday I will see you again, and you'll look me in my eyes and call me your friend

You say it’s your first time backstage at the Troubadour, but I get the feeling that’s been said by you before. You’re very slick when you’re not being coy, but I’m on to your tricks and I’m wise to your ploys. And I bet you say that to all the boys. You’re quite good at telling me just what I want to hear, and you do a bit more than just talk that much is clear.
