I don't think the words "three-way" and "diaper" should ever be in a commercial together.

Raspberry lemonade tastes exactly like starbursts. Which is awesome, cause starbursts aren't vegetarian and I haven't had them in years.

So, my wife and I are in the kitchen, she's sitting at the island and I'm making a glass of iced tea about 2' away. I grabbed a lemon wedge and squeezed it into my glass, but somehow I managed to squirt both of us in the eyes, her laptop, my phone, my iPad, the counter, the floor, 2 cabinets and one of the dogs. Hilarity ensued.

Saw a picture of my ex-wife today. I haven't seen her in over two years.

She is still smokin' hot, and she is still a total whore.

Proof that some things will NEVER change.

Every morning I am being confronted by the fact how much I hate raisins. They taste like dried poop and every morning I have to fish them out of my muesli. Why don't they just make muesli without those damn things?

My daughter broke her arm on Saturday. That sucks and is terrible. She hurts and she doesn't like the sling and she feels like crap because she has terrible Oak allergies anyway.

But you know what is great? You know what I love about America or maybe just Austin? We went to the Dell Children's Medical Center which is a pretty great facility and saw a nurse, a doctor, got 5 x-rays, and saw the doctor again before anyone asked for more than her name and birthdate. We basically got her medical care before needing to show any insurance or my name or address. We DO have insurance and CAN pay but I'm so glad that even if we didn't our child could get medical care from a good facility.

Surfing the TV channels yesterday I caught 2 episodes of buffy from season 1 - the pack and the one with Moloch (can't remember the episode name) and an episode of Dawson' Creek.

What struck me was that Buffy seemed as fresh ever, it didn't seem aged or dated or grated in anyway, yet Dawson's Creek just made me cringe. The dialogue that was witty and clever on first viewings all those years ago now just seemed cliched and pretentious.

Today I had one of my kiddos (about 3.5 years) tell me I'm "a short teacher... shorter than the other teachers," and another (2.5) tell me my pants were "broken" cause the bottom of my pants' leg was ripped. I love the candor of little kids, when they're too young to realize what they say might be perceived as rude :)

But just to follow up on that... the bills are starting to come in. So far, we owe $550 for the ER trip (of which we paid $150 while we were there). Then $68 for the doctor at the ER. $87 for the XRays at the ER and a few hundred for the specialist who casted it. And probably more...

I loved Willow and Tara well before I loved Amber in her own right. Until tonight, I'd completely forgotten how the shift came. I discovered Buffy at about 12, W/T and the kitten at 13. At about 14 or 15, I discovered the marvelous vampire novel Sunshine by Robin McKinley-- and one of the reviews on the back:

"Before reading Sunshine, I never knew that blood and dessert could go together so well."
-Amber Benson

I've been rereading the book for a week or two now, and tonight I saw that quote on the back, and Amber's name, and suddenly flashed back to my early teen years and the moment when I first saw it. I remember quite clearly squealing and running to the computer in excitement to learn all I could about Amber beyond her role as Tara. Thus, one of my deepest loves was born.

I ran into my ex-girlfriend yesterday. We broke up nine years ago due to multiple causes like my depression and the fact that she was 3 years younger than me and couldn't handle the situation very well. Anyway, we ran into each other once in a while the last couple of years, but she changed into someone that I didn't recognize anymore and I didn't really like her. She was not the girl I fell in love with. Since a year ago we have each other on Facebook and I can see by her status updates etc that she really grew up and eased down a lot. Got rid of her piercings, got a steady job and so on and she really reminds me of the girl I fell for ten years ago. Running into her yesterday confused me, she looked really good and I got a really weird feeling in my stomach, and I got totally nervous around her. We had a very nice and funny conversation and even decided to go for drinks sometime soon. I am sooo confused...and to be honest I think I like what she still does with me somehow.

I'm not sure if this is a random moment or a funny moment or just a funny random moment or what, but I got a kick out of it.

Okay, let me try and explain this so it makes sense. We have a hose that got cut by the lawn mower, so we only use it to add water to the pool. It's connected to a faucet on the far side of the pool pump and is only about 12' long. Because it's so short, it barely reaches the pool and has to stretch over a short 3' fence to do so. To get to the faucet, you have to step over the hose TWICE. If the hose is not stretched out, it's in a coiled mess on the narrow walkway between the pool pump and the fence. In other words, no matter what you do, you have to either step over it or in it to get to the faucet to turn it on.

Why is all that so important? Because earlier today my wife went out to turn on the hose and add water to the pool. She walked the gauntlet, turned on the hose and proceeded to get soaked. She thought the hose was in the pool and well, it wasn't, lol. So, who do you think got blamed?? That's right, I not only got the blame, but she called me at work to yell at me!!. Seriously, is it really my fault that she never noticed it wasn't in the pool? Never noticed she didn't have to step over anything on the patio? Never noticed the coiled mess she had to walk through to turn it on? Yes, I moved it, because I was sick of tripping over it every damn time I walked around the pool. Normally all this bitching over something so incredibly minor would irritate me to the point of insanity, but it's just too damn funny!! :rofl :lmao

I saw this amazingly accurate comic about depression (at least, it's very similar to what I experienced, and explains it way better than I could) and wanted to post it on fb, both for people suffering from depression who might feel... reassured by it, to know that someone else's experience is like their own and that maybe the black hole won't last forever, and for people who don't understand depression and maybe need to, but I know if I did a number of people would assume my depression was back when it isn't. How do you bring mental illness into a conversation without people assuming you (or perhaps someone very close to you) is suffering from it?

Remember the video for "Mr. Jones" by Counting Crows? I used to have a jacket just like that. A woman I had a crush on braided a few of the tassels in the front one night and I always left it like that. Probably about twenty years ago ... not sure where the jacket is now; I think I gave it to my brother.

Mostly unrelated, but there was a good friend of the family on my mother's side named "Mr. Jones." Old guy. I heard about him often, only met him once, and never knew his first name. He was always just "Mr. Jones."

I've been working with kids for years, and much as I love it, there are moments when you need to do things to keep you from going crazy(er). One of the things I like to do is take things we hear and say out of context, which can be super hilarious. Today, while subbing at a Montessori school where I used to work, I heard what might be my favourite ever

Coworker (said in a completely straight voice, with no realization it was weird): I see you're hugging your poop.

I'm doing an assignment for Amenity Tree Management, and I have to discuss the pros and cons of selecting certain tree sizes for planting in an already established scheme. I did a search for whips, maidens and standards.

I'm not exactly shocked that I have many BDSM sites among the search results - now I'm getting all distracted from assignment - lol.

I am a kitten who's smitten by a kitten. I don't mean a kitten from here, I mean an actual kitten. lol

My friend got a kitten last night as her graduation present. I haven't been around a kitten in years so I'm loving it. His name is Charlie. I went into my friend's room like 20 times today just to see him. I was cuddling him and telling him I would do anything for him cos he got it like that with me. :P

Dude, if only I can see a woman that way. Sometimes I think there is something seriously wrong with me. I need to turn in my lesbian card cos it's not easy for me to fall in love. Capable of love yes, but capable of making the world revolve around one person not so much.
