My boss...who is also my cousin through marriage...is a walking, talking pet peeve.

The smell of wet dog irritates the hell out of me, especially when you walk into someone's house and thats what it smells of.

Also, I was looking after my 9 year old cousin and she has a cold, but instead of blowing her nose she kept sniffing. It was driving me crazy.

ETA: the mere sound of my mother's husband's voice makes me want to choke him even though I don't live with him, but is that a pet peeve :confused

I'm a grown woman it really shouldn't irk me so much!

Having my hours cut at work to less than 5 hours a week...so few that I don't even need to go to the office...WITHOUT notice...effective Monday.

Sweetie, before you complain about cleaning up after someone else, consider how many times someone has had to clean up after you throughout your life. :| just a little perspective for ya ;-)

Now...to stay on topic: I can't stand when parents let their kids play in the middle of the street. Get a CLUE!

and i promise i only use the word posse in a joking sort of way.

When servers at a resturant try waaaay to hard to be friendly, it's annoying.

Ah, overly cautious winter drivers. My specific pet peeves with them are their tendencies to:

1) Brake suddenly and unsuccessfully.

2) Brake suddenly and successfully.

This may seem contradictory, but the key to winter driving it often to not stop. Because once you stop you may never get going again.
Admittedly this requires caution and ya gotta stop sometimes, but at every interesection??? No!!!

Or how about folks who see a big, slippery hill coming up and immediately slow down. Aaaargh. And why do they inevitably happen to be the folks directly in front of me?

Oh, and just to BE a possible pet peeve: It was 76 (F) here yesterday. hehehehehehe...

Pet peeve of the day.

That DAMN 'Sheila's Wheel's' advert, oh how I loath thee!

sheila's wheels are superstars,
girls are bored beyond endurance,
paying too much for car insurance,
for bonzer car insurance deals,
girls get down to sheila's wheels!!!!

And they are a division of esure, the company that brought you the equally irritating "Calm down, dear, it's only an advert" spoken condescendingly by that overpaid, sexist, jackass Michael Winner to his "wife". Art imitating life, I rather think.

Finger prints on the computer screen. Oh that just kills me. My kids have been here the past few days and both computers are covered in fingerprints. My kids are 12 and 15, you'd think they'd know how much that bugs the hell out of me.

One of my roomies has this habit of waking me up by turning on the light. Oh my god, how much do I hate that!!!!! Can't you just say, "Hey Steph, time to get up."? And why does she feel the need to wake me up anyway? I have an alarm. I'm 32 years old. If I wanted to be mothered, I'd move back home. :angry

My mother. She shouts. She is a teacher, so I understand that the default volume is a notch or two higher than for us mortals, but really, does she need to do that all the time?

-People who spit in the streets. I usually end up stepping in it so it bothers the crap out of me.

-Parents who substitue love and discipline for their children by giving them everything they want to keep them "happy".

-Adults who treat people younger than them like children even if they aren't children. My mother does that to me all the time and she expects me not to get angry when she makes baby sounds or pinches my cheeks or covers my eyes when I watch a movie with nudity, like I have no idea what naked men and women look like.

I get: "Oh don't worry, you're just a late bloomer. You'll be interested eventually."

I mean,

This comes from my mother and friends (among others) who have "accepted" my gayness BTW. Anyway.

My pet peeve: constantly being asked if "i'm okay"

Just because I don't walk around 24/7 with a smile on my face, doesn't mean i'm not happy. One of my good friends does this constantly. "Are you okay?" "Are you sure you're okay?" "What's wrong?" I love her to bits but, enough is enough.

I'll be perfectly content/happy then she'll come up, and she isn't the only one to do it, and asks "Are you okay?" Then proceeds to do this for the next few hours at 5minute intevals. In the end, I'm really not okay at all. Rather severly pissed to be precise.

Sometimes I just want to say, "Guess what? My face naturally sits like this. So back. The fuck. Off. Understood?" *huffs*

Ok. I'm done now. *sigh* I love this board...

When friends you haven't spoken to in weeks go on and on and on and on about all their problems, in detail, and don't even bother to pretend to be interested in how you've been.

Also, the way cd's are packaged. They're a bitch to open.

Professors who make attendance mandatory, because that way we "learn more." If I wanna skip out on a class I'm paying hundreds of dollars for then that's my deal.

People with no indoor voice...I was at the eye doctor the other day and they were way behind so I had to wait in the lobby for half an hour...the whole time I got to listen to this woman on the other side of the room who was speaking so loudly to her companion that I could clearly hear every word...half an hour of listening to a stranger bitch about what a wackjob her mother is and what a nouveau riche bitch her sister is...nothing like airing your laundry in public!

Also people who talk really loud on the phone...it's a telephone not a megaphone...you don't have to yell!!
