Ha! I laugh at your pain! Especially since YOU gave me a bunch of discworld books! In other words, it's all your fault!!! :devil

I re-read Death Hallows, then started re-reading the whole series and just finished Prisoner of Azkaban.

Hey, Brave-Little-Toaster, will e-mail you about fanfiction. I was intrigued by that article, too.

Take care, all!

I'm almost done with Saffron Dreams by Shaila Abdullah, which is... beyond description. I feel like everyone ever should read it.
I'm also reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix, which is just fun.

Ok. I'm no longer reading Younger next Year. What a pile of crap. What nonsense. I couldn't decide whether I just disagreed or was actually offended. I decided on a combination and put it in the "return to library" stack.

Tears of the Goddess, for the 4th or 5th time. Not only are the Willow/Tara parts adorable, it also has Detective Lockeley from Angel!

Just finished reading "The Great Gatsby" for the first time since high school. I forgot how adept Fitzgerald was at using unusual yet vivid descriptions.

I tried to get "The Hunger Games" from the library, but....there are over 100 people on the call-list for it ahead of me. This could take a while.

In the meantime, reading "What the Night Knows" by Dean Koontz. I can't read it within 1 hour of going to bed...I would have nightmares for sure.

Bright-Sided by Barbara Ehrenreich

A fascinating critique of the prevailing ideology of positive thinking, and how this has influenced religion, business and medicine.

I'm particularly interested in the assumed link between having a 'positive attitude' and physical health, and how this can place an extra burden on the sick.

One for the Money, by Janet Evanovich. This book is freakin' hilarious, and thankfully the first in a long line of books about Stephanie Plum, who stumbles into becoming a bounty hunter along with a witty prostitute named Lulu. Not even kidding.

Of course, this is really just to kill time until the library notifies me that the second Hunger Games book is available.

Can anyone recommend some decent lesbian novels? I seem to be having trouble finding a good list. I have recently read Curious Wine and Emily On My Mind (both good). Just looking for some opinions and suggestions :-) I am looking for something with a more contemporary setting.

Back to an old favorite, Impro by Keith Johnston - he's one of the originators of the modern improv movement in theatre. But what's fascinating to me is not just the exercises but his essays on education, narrative, mask work, and how theatre affects people. There's a lot to chew on, definitely makes you see the world and the human interactions differently.

RowanLanfear: I'm a big fan of Annie on My Mind and Rosemary & Juliet. Blown Away has a good lesbian romance as part of a bigger story.

OT: My first non-1-shot Doctor Who fanfic. It's so weird reading fanfic that isn't Willow/Tara, or at least Buffyverse, but I'm really enjoying it!
