(Next time we do Caliente's you get you own margarita.. :p ) Your nose...methinks contacts would be good for you sweetie. I'm sure your gf loves you with that tanline from your glasses but um... is just funny, meng.. *chuckle* :kiss

Well my friend from Toronto rode in the Dykes 4 Bikes parade last weekend, and she had my picture in her wallet, so I was kind of there by proxy. Does that count? :D

Pride 2004

Postby mandyanyone » Thu Jul 01, 2004 2:23 am

I went to Pride here in Denver on the 27th June. Was so great, walked with my choir in the parade, carried a huge pride flag. heh. It was my first pride, spent well, walking with my roommate, checking out the girls. If you went to Denver Pride, you were scoped..;) God was that a great day!! WOOHOO!..Can't wait till next year!!

On my way to work this morning I noticed a pride flag one one of the flagpoles by the river Liffey, and it made me smile

My girl and I were at Toronto Pride also. We didn't see the Willow and Tara Forever sign, but I wish we had. I heard from a lot of people that they thought this year seemed a lot more tame, but it was great nonetheless. With both of us being sick on the Sunday afternoon, we missed the parade and didn't really head out until the evening when we hit some bars and a club, but we were in the Dyke March on Saturday.

I love the city during Pride Week. Everyone is so much more friendly and accepting, even out of dominantly gay/gay-friendly areas. Can't wait too see pictures and videos on the site.

Ah yes: at the intersection of "Burn Out" and "Nostalgia," lies the above sentiment. I swear, someone says this (or "smaller" or "older" or "less political" etc. etc.) at every Pride event there has ever been (I'm sure the Gay Pride Movement was "buried and mourned" in June 1970---one year after Stonewall :p ).

GG Don't believe it! :pride Out

And all good things must come to an end…. Arthur –man or mouse- Putey & myself had a very good weekend. Amsterdam was of course gayer than it already is which made for a great and very relaxed atmosphere all around. And lots of alcohol was consumed....but we won’t go into that! The Canal Parade on Saturday; being the ultimate professional that I am, I of course took my digital camera with me, only to find out –when it was too late- that the batteries were dead, thus am unable to share my photographic talents and the general atmosphere. The musical event to top things off today, Sunday with the irresistible diva Mrs.Willeke Alberti who did not sing “Telkens Weer” which was a bummer, still, one mustn’t complain. The first weekend of August is always such a great weekend!

I have many skills....

Brighton Rocks

Postby MadeinNZ » Mon Aug 09, 2004 1:52 pm

I lost my Pride viginity this weekend and attended Brighton Pride on Saturday (with 100,000 others). It was fabulous. Drag Queens Rule! At one stage we accidentally joined the "Mr Gay UK" contingent when crossing the road. I didn't mind until they put a sash on me and gave me a pair of speedos to put on.

I was really impressed by the number of stalls and exhibits for women. It was massive. I swear I had no idea what the "Babes'n'Horny" stall was about when I went to look at it. And I only stayed for half an hour because they had really interesting ... um ... decorations. :sheep

The only downside was the 45 min wait in scorching weather for a porta-loo. You do NOT want to get stuck in front of butch lesbians who need to pee. It became very tense.

If you're in the UK next August - mark it on the calendar. And book your accommodation early. All the hotels were booked out a week before.

Hey, MadeinNZ, that's where you just turn on your Kiwi charm . . . and tell them you're a personal friend of Lucy Lawless! :p

You think I'm kidding? To wit, this report from a recent AIDS charity concert in San Francisco:

Quote:
Lucy was followed [she sang two songs, and proverbially "knocked 'em dead"] by the incredibly hysterical Bruce Vilanch doing a side-splitting stand-up comedy . . . At one point, a couple of people (women I think) left their seats quickly, distracting him. His comment: "These women will do anything to meet Lucy Lawless". His act brought the house down.

GG Oh look, GG turning a perfectly innocent thread into something Xena-related: will wonders never cease? ;) Out

Oh - I've got a lot of mileage out of Lucy. Me and Lucy are like this *crosses fingers*. I'm not above capitalising on my kiwiness. I even have an outfit ... but that's another story. :wink

Pride all over the planet

Well to throw another town into the pool..

I went to the Pride in Duisburg/Germany on July 31.

Unfortunately I missed Cologne this year, because I had to work the hole weekend, but settled for Duisburg instead. It was only the third Pride there, and it's kind of small if you only have known Cologne before.

But it was kinda cozy and familiar and I had a lot of fun, so I decided to go there the next year again.
