Oooo.... may I add on to the thrill-throated child peeve?

That shrill shriek that hordes of over excited women tend to make. Makes me want to disclaim any affinity for or with the whole damn gender.

I really hate when people send me emails that say "send this to X amount of people or you'll have bad luck for all eternity". Oh they annoy me. My friends must think I enjoy them cause I get them everyday. Grrrr!!!

When you get a song stuck in your head and can't get it out no matter what you do...although today it's not so bad cuz it's a song from RENT

(actually this is a great way to get a little vengeance on people who annoy you...ask what the worst song they ever had stuck in their head was...brings it right back!)

I HATE when my friends come to me to talk about sex with boys. For so many reasons. They're my friends, it's disturbing. It's with boys, it's VERY disturbing. They give details, it's gross. Plus, I'm a virgin, why would I want to talk about it? So there. I don't want to hear anything about sex with boys anymore.

Since I'm slightly anal retentive about my car, I have two pet peeves.

1. Even if it isn't in the forecast, it always seems to rain the day after I get it washed. Fortunately, the car wash I use gives a free car wash if it rains within 24 hours.

2. I love spring but no matter where I park, I get those annoying little green spinning things all over my car. Grrr!!!

My roommate acts like I'm killing her whenever I just ask her to please pick up after herself. It's ridiculous. I immensely miss my old roommate and still my best friend who was a neat freak. :cry

On the other hand, I've noticed too many things have been peeving me off lately. :hmm

I applaud you for having the courage to say it...people think I'm evil because as far as children are concerned I rarely like them but on a case by case basis...I can't help myself, they are generally loud, rude and hopeless at carrying on an interesting conversation...the last being my qualification for any sort of friendly interaction...child or adult

And in a realted peeve: smalltalk

And rudeness. There is no excuse for it. I mean, how hard is it to say, "Excuse me, thank you, please, you're welcome." etc. Politeness is the social lubricant that smooths the way...

I hate getting out out of the shower.

I love getting in it, but once I'm in there I don't want to get out, it's a battle I fight every day. :lol It's just too bloody cold when you get out and the air hits your skin.

It irritates me when a singer does a cover version of a song, but changes some of the words. Like that will somehow make us forget that someone else it did it first!

For example: Trisha Yearwood did Melissa Etheridge's "Baby, You Can Sleep While I Drive", and changed the line about buying glasses in Texas and a hat in New Orleans. Trisha would rather buy boots in Texas, apparently, and it annoys me every time I hear it.

LOL! - Very good observation. I would add to that - when someone attempts to perform someone else's song - and not only messes up the lyrics, but the melody, speed, etc. Some songs can be improved on, yes, but others - really can't.

Candleshoe and Twisted Minstrel, I second that pet peeve in this way: it bugs me when a female singer covers a song by a male singer and changes the pronouns. Sing it like it was written, people. If you're straight people won't necessarily assume that you're a lesbian. And even if you're worried about that, get over it.

Mormon Missionaries.

The ones that knock on your door at the most inopportune time. Then when you try to politely blow them off by saying you're too busy, they offer to help you. I'm so tempted to say, "OK. Would you mind scrubbing the kitchen floor while I take my girlfriend upstairs and have really loud lesbian, gay-type sex with her?"

Exactly! Humor is one of the best stress relievers. Have you ever noticed how uptight people can be who don't have a sense of humor? When you try to tell them a joke to break the tension, they get more uptight, so sometimes it's funny to tell them a joke, and just sit back to watch the ludicrousness of it all.

Burglar alarms. Specifically the one for the shop below my office. It goes off all the time when the shop is shut, and it doesn't stop for about 15 minutes. It's not being burgled, there's just an oversensitive sensor or something.

And the neighbours think it is ours, and start shouting up at my window. Unfortunately my firm's name is emblazoned across the window, so I can't reply with the hand gesture I want to wave.

Also annoying: policemen who won't ring the owner of shops whose alarms are disturbing the neighbourhood. I don't care if they are busy fighting crime...

Channels that put programs on at stupidly early times and then cut the hell out of them.

Yes Channel 4 I am looking at you.

So we like to watch Deal or No Deal. It's a fun show with an interesting premise. Every show they have a "play at home" part where people can text message in which of 6 cases they think holds $10,000. Of the folks who text correctly ($.95 per message) they randomly pick one and that person gets the $10,000.

My peeve: when describing it they say "vote for the case you think holds the $." I think it's only a guess, not a vote. I would say that you're voting if the girl who gets the most votes gets to have a week paid vacation or be president or start at quarterback for the Chicago Bears or something. Otherwise, it's a guess.

Oooh, we have Deal or No Deal too. Except my pet peeve about it is the guy who presents it. Noel Edmonds was a radio DJ, then a TV presenter, and in my very humble opinon, was crap at both. Maybe he just chose the worst shows on earth to present! I hold him single-handedly responsible for unleashing a huge pink man-in-a-suit (which had a hit single!) called Mr Blobby on an unsuspecting UK. There was a theme park to match somewhere in the south, although I think it went bust recently. Phew...

And now Deal or No Deal is done like it's some sort of cleverness contest, whereas we all know it's basically gambling. :angry
