A Few of my Favorite things Wednesday MKF, 06/30/04

Postby Saena » Wed Jun 30, 2004 8:22 am

Hey guys!

It's kind of a tradition for me- every summer before school starts I make a list of my favorite things at that moment. It's a great way to look back on what I've been like over the last few years, and to compare how I've changed. Two days ago I made my list for Summer of 2004. It's probably one of the last ones I'll make, since I'm entering my senior year of high school (*sigh*), but as I was making it I had an idea. Why not send it out to all my friends, and ask them to send me their own back? Just to see where we all stand at this moment. I'll compile all their responses at the end and send them back out, so we can all see each other's lists. I then decided that it would be a good idea for this board too. So who wants to share some of their favorite things?

Here's my list:

Responding

Postby Saena » Thu Jul 01, 2004 2:09 pm

I just had to respond to some of these:

Triscuit7- The advanced level of the theater camp I attend each summer did a great Les Miserables a couple years back. Seeing my friend Dustin as Master Thenardier was one of the highlights for me. :applause

Shinnen- I like Heart and Souls as well. I've seen it several times and it just makes me happy. Also, my sister would love you for being a Neve Campbell fan (she's a dancer and is obsessed with "The Company").

YellowCrayon- Glad you liked "Perks of Being a Wallflower". It's the definitive inspiration for my entire high school experience. I'm also a One Tree Hill fan, kind of. I wasn't sure about it at the beginning- it kind of threw me off and I didn't want to see two half brothers bickering a lot, I thought they'd work much better if they became friends. Then the plots started to get a lot better, and I liked it a little more. If it progresses like that it should have a great second season. See, I can comment on TV like some people can comment on sports. :)

Im a TV person myself. The show was kinda sketchy at the beginning, which is expected, nonexperienced actors and a new show. It got better, had a good season overall.

Perks was my all time favorite book, I can do the entire poem off the top of my head, its crazy. I read it like once a month.

Saena:- I love that movie (Heart and Souls), my video tape of that got spoilt after watching it over 100 times. Looking for the DVD cos i finally found the A League of their Own DVD... I'll come across Heart and Souls one day :p And Neve? Oh she's been a fave of mine since god knows when... I think when I was pretty young and when Neve was like on magazine covers and numerous articles in papers and on tv. But I definitely was like... whoah... she's gorgeous... I wanna marry her :) ) unfortunately... she's an untouchable... just like any other celeb... touchable in the normal way... but untouchable in the other way :) )

Responding again

Postby Saena » Sat Jul 10, 2004 12:13 pm

So many new responses since I last checked! Here are my many thoughts on them:

Alia16: Go "Somewhere over the Rainbow"!

Ginner WTluv- I am a closet Christina Aguilera fan as well. Actually, I'm more of a periodic, occasional fan. I got her Christmas CD because I fell in love with Track 4 when I was listening to a clip of it on the Internet once, and it just struck me as cool. I'm not really that huge of a fan, now that I think about it. She just has a really cool voice. :D Also, you're right: "newfangled" is a funny word. I giggled when I saw it on your post.

Krazy Dreamer- my sister loves the word copacetic. She found it amusing when I used it in a note to her once. My English teacher a couple years back used to say it all the time.

Urn of Osiris: re: The Princess Bride- I have that book! It's great!

Puff: Bollocks is another fun word. All of these fun words things are just amusing.

Pocket Gnome- Once again with the fun words. Betwixt is cool, and it's totally a real word.

Witchchick- I had the honor of seeing "Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway when we were there two years ago, as my one and only (thus far) Broadway experience. It was amazing. I look forward to going back and seeing something else when I go next year, after I graduate.

sprhrgirl- Rocky Horror rules. I have friends who've done that show live. One day I'll go see it with them.

wolfwynd: Re: Pride- Woot! Glad someone watches.

Guardian146- I have an old tape that someone made for me when I was much younger of Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I haven't watched it in years. But I think it used to be a favorite of mine when I was little. Also, woot to your first favorite word choice!

LiangFeng- now the question is, can you use all of your favorite words in one sentence??:hmm (This may be a rhetorical question, I'm a little afraid to see what you might come up with:) )

Thanks guys!

Saena:kiss1 <- aww...
