It's new nicknames Friday, MKF 03/26/04

I was thinking the other day (with ezboard's many, many bugs), what if ezboard had some big meltdown and we all lost our names on the board, both those who are local and those who are global. And we all had to reregister with ezboard.



What would your new nickname be?

Would you just add a number at the end of your name, or get a completely new one?

I'd probably go with a new name. I've joked with a few kittens that those of us in Michigan are "mitten kittens," which is probably what I'd choose, except in the singular form.



I've also considered skittlicious. skittles is great, but I can't get it global on ezboard... darnit.



btw, it's raining in the "mitten" but mild temps. I have the windows open & can hear the birds chirping. The breeze is making everything smell wonderful, if damp.

I don't know, I have gotten so used to this one. I chose this username because a friend of mine calls me Dr.G when we mail, it was short and easy to remember so I started using it on the Kitten. Unfortunately, I lost the . when we moved to EZboard. When I registered, I figured no one else would have a username like mine, but when I looked back through some of the older pages of the Kitten at Novogate I suddenly saw a Doc.G

I have been confused with that poster a few times. So far for me being original.



Anyway, I can't think of anything else really. There are names I really like, such as 'Aragorn', but I am most definitely nothing like a fictional heroic king. I'd feel =eh= uncomfortable to take such a name.

Hey, if an all-powerful mod would like to be called Aragorn I for one am more than willing to be accomodating. And it really has nothing to do whatsoever with the fact that ezboard hasn't moved me to the next posting level and I need to get on the good side of a mod (whatever side that might be) to get it changed. So, hey Aragorn, how's it going? Loved your work on the whole ring thing. Is that a new cape you're wearing?



As for me if I had to change from Seurat I'd probably go to some artist that I love, altho I've always had a liking for the name Kalki (from James Branch Cabell books, not from eastern religon -which is likely where he got it anyway). Comes from reading the Ballantine adult fantasy series when I was a kid no doubt.

We have a warmish, rainy day here. Pretty Springy looking weather, and if my ears weren't still ringing from last night's Electrelane show I would have nothing at all to complain about.

Hmm. Good question. One that I don't think I can answer though. All my nicknames were earned or given to me in some way. I think I would want a new one. But I am not feeling to creative, so I'm open to suggestions. (hoping I don't regret that)

Hmm... well, mine's a global account, so if you see Tempest Duer anywhere then it's either me, or somebody using my name without my permission... grrr...



But anyway, a new name? I'm not sure, I like my name the way it is, thank you very much. I'm used to hitting "find" and searching for my name.



But really, it suits me. Big storm + random made up name? Definitely me.

Brian, when i saw Legolas is better than Aragorn (name sounds cooler) all i could think of was a cool Feminine name for that and came up with something that might be what i'd like... Legolass i like Legolas... as well as LEGO as well as the fact I can't change is i'm a female Otherwise... Booblicker is a cool nick

Oh the horror. I can't imagine. I started out as xitaclan which people shortned to xita thank god. I can't even deal with not having that. I think I would just be like.. xita-ho or something. I could not get rid of that. It's become as much my name as my real name in some ways.

i really should be sprkid by now rather than sprhrgrl. i've been transitioning in so many places online, but there's so much chunked around my ezboard use. i've been here for yeeeears with this friendly global account. . . so it stays, unfortunately.



livejournal has rename tokens you can buy, where you pay and it just changes your name on everything. i'd dig that.

hmm, that's a pretty interestring question...I've been something Beatles related for a good few years now. But Yellow Submarine isn't my favorite song, it's just something that is more recoginizable as being Beatles. But songs like Blackbird wouldn't be that obvsious. Oohhh so many good songs, I couldn't choose.



I think that if I had to change I would go with something willow/tara centric. I've tried thinking of a name that was, but I didn't really like any of my own ideas.
