My girlfriend and I would enjoy hearing the stories of couples who have been together since they were young.
Carrie and I grew up together as next door neighbors in Santa Cruz, so we've really known each other our whole lives. Our first realization that the magic we felt for each other was called "love" came on Easter Sunday, when we were seven years old.
I had gone over to Carrie's house to play when, in the midst of our fun, she paused, looked at me with the softest brown eyes, and told me I was beautiful. I felt my insides wobble like jelly and, instinctively, I embraced and held her for the longest time, and then kissed her as though I had been doing it my whole life. From that moment on, we knew we that belonged to each other for as long as we lived.
Fortunately, we both had liberal parents and lived in a progressive community, so we were never made to feel freakish or abnormal, despite our frequent open displays of affection. We were even allowed to have sleepovers whenever we wanted, as long as we kept up with our schoolwork.
Carrie and I have now been faithful to each other for nearly two decades. We are partners in work, as well as life, having built a profitable home-based consulting company. Next year, we are planning on starting a family.
This spring, we are taking a long-awaited Canadian vacation, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our first kiss. On Easter Sunday in Toronto, we will stand under the canopy and exchange vows of marriage, with the blessing of our family, friends, and the Canadian government. For us, it will be an affirmation that, sometimes, young love really can last forever.
i wish you's all the luck for the future
