This is awesome. So, how long has this been here and had me not notice anything?

It's insulting to the whole gender[sic] of rap.

Loving the new forum, it brought at the surface so many threads that i had forgotten the existence of! Not to mention that for the new kittens they're actually new :p

Good job with the banner, too :D

Just a question: when we update, should we refer to the updates thread on Pens, and maybe link back here, or what? :)

thanks,

Val :)

How many hours late was I to get this news? I'm out of the loop! Must spend continuous hours on the Kittenboard, disregarding school and my brother!

It's insulting to the whole gender[sic] of rap.

Can I ask here?

Postby serendipitous » Mon Sep 27, 2004 4:42 am

I have a question and I hope I can find an answer here. Does anyone know if there is a W/T video using the Maroon5 song "She Will Be Loved?" I've been searching but have come up empty. It just seems like it would be a perfect song for a music vid, and since I have no skills whatsoever making them, I'm hoping there might be someone out there, who embodies those very skills which I lack, with a video. :wave

No, there's not really a hardcore rule about that. (Well, there is one hardcore rule - don't hotlink images that aren't on your webspace or that you don't have permission to post.) In general, we do prefer people to just post the link, though. This is mostly so that the pages will continue to load quickly for all Kittens (some are still on dial-up), but also to avoid any problems in the future should something happen with a website.

See this bit in the FAQ about pictures:

10. Can I post pictures?
Yes. In fact, please do! We have lots of threads for pictures, pictures of you, your town, and pictures you’ve taken. Do not hotlink images that are not on your own webspace, unless you have permission to do so from the person who is paying for the bandwidth. (Hotlinking, or direct linking, is when you use code tags, like , to cause an image to show in your post.) You may do this if the images are on your own webspace. However, please don't do it too often, because it will slow the board down, especially for Kittens who are on dial-up. It takes a long time to load a page with lots of images, especially if they are large files. And we want the pages to load as quickly as possible. Please keep something in mind about hotlinking. Even if you have permission to hotlink to an image, this can lead to problems if the site you're linking from changes hands. It's possible that you would then find that the URL of your image now leads to something else, which could be extremely disruptive for the board, especially if a very large image or porn is now at that URL.

That's a good guideline for any type of images you'd like to post.

The way you did the lolwilltara thread is perfect.
