Ange, I already went to your site and used one of the avatars. I just don't know if I did it right. I mean there are those who are concerned about hotlinking (don't really know what this means... I am a bit computer illiterate). So, that means it is okay to hotlink to your site and use the avatars? Just inform me if I did something wrong. Thanks again.

no, no you can't link it to my page. you have to have a little web space and put the link of it. If you use mine all the web page is gonna be over soon.



there's a lot of things like yahoo, or lycos, spacesport. use one and put your new link. please!

1. go to Ange's site and click on whatever avatar you wish to use.

2. copy the pic on your hard drive then upload it to your own server.

3. on the kitty ezboard, click on My Control Center at the top left hand side

4. Click Edit Profile

5. then paste the URL of the pic you copied fr Ange's site in the Personal Photo box, but use your own URL from your server where you uploaded the pic.

6. checkmark the Use Personal Photo

7. Click Save changes

8. test your avatar by posting

9. if it works, do the snoopy dance

10. if it doesn't work, try and try until you die... nah, j/k... ;)



any questions, pls ask it in this thread or read the ezcode directions (if any) on how to use your personal photo for your profile. hope that helped.



edited to add: oops, sorry about that. you can't hotlink to Ange's avatars... so i changed the directions and hope that it's not confusing...

I tested yahoo and it seemed to work. You need to go to your yahoo album and right click on the picture and then click properties and then get the URL from there.



Also Rally and I will work on making images available for hot linking directly so you won't need servers.

I've just signed up with 50megs.com so yay I can link my avatars....how do I upload stuff to them? I don't have a webpage publishing software program, I just used geocities before & you didn't need one....

Okay...I opened a 50megs account. I have a ton of space I will never use. If anyone needs someone to host there avatar....just let me know.

Just a reminder folks, yes you have tons of space for an avatar on a 50megs account, but they limit bandwidth. There will only be so many avatars you can host before your bandwidth runs out for the month.



Sorry I havent been able to keep up on this thread, I had family stuff all weekend long, the move cut into this. I will try and polish up the FAQ tomorrow.

ok, I just got ulead GIF animator and it works great. I can help some kitties with animation if they want. As long as its not too many pictures etc. My avatar is ~38kb only so e-mailing the finish product is possible.
