I was working on an avatar that I thought would be fun, except that I went a leeeeeeeettle overboard and now it's too big for here. I'll make a link if anyone would like to take it to use elsewhere. PLEASE don't link directly to it. Take it and put it on your own server if you like.

Go to "My Control Center" (which is located at the top left of the front page of all the boards)



Click on the "Edit Profile" (the second button) NOT the "Edit Prefrences" button.



In the middle of the page you'll see "Personal Photo URL" place the URL that your pic resides at, then check the little box below that reads "Use Personal Photo" go to the bottom and click on the "save changes"



It should take you back to the previous page, click on the "View Profile" and see if your little pic shows up. If so, its all good and it will show up in the right spot when you post.

I got the nifty gif animator...thanks. Just wondering how to place a banner over an image. Do you have to do that before you place the image in the animator? I'm so confuddled.



If anyone else can help with this I would sooo appreciate it. Also, I am running Image Carousel as my screen saver, could running a gif animator screw that up? I seem to be missing some of my images from the screen saver. Weird, freakin' computer. *pout*

To add words to mine, I had to put them right in the image. I'm not sure how TrueXena does hers and maybe there's some feature in the gif animator that will let you do it. In which case I'll laugh at myself for going to all that trouble for no good reason.

And TrueXena, I'm glad you liked them It helped to have some inspiration in seeing what can be done with words in avatars. Yours are priceless! Although a slo-mo one of Willow at the end of the flaming O might be fun. heehee!

Ohh, and start laughing at yourself cuz there is a "Text" thingy you can use as well as a "Text Banner" thingy you can use in Ulead Gif Animator. (but then I'm not sure which program you are using either, so I could be totally wrong)



Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the results of the fun I've had in makeing these little "mini vids". (as they just dont have music or sound)

I really am haveing a bunch of fun in makeing these. Now I just gotta find a crack, or (god forbid) buy the program so I can keep doing so.



I do have another one in the works, but not sure when it will be done or when it will debut here in the "Official Avatar" thread. I do want to start makeing some to share though. It's fun to share, but it's also fun to shock and be an idividual too.

Ok, kicking of myself is now happening.



And 50megs.com is no longer an option. Bleh!



I don't know how to shrink an avatar once it's done. I started with fairly low quality images. Some were 72 dpi and some were 33 dpi. Other than that... Um... Ask TrueXena!

Anyhoo, while using Ulead Gif Animator, you can click on Edit > Resize Image > then make it 60x60 (pixels) cuz thats what the personal photo window size is.



Least thats how I do it. You're milage may very with different program.

Rally helped me out with a link to a gif animator for iMacs..it's really easy..same option go resizing after the gif is done methinks. If I can only get someone to help me plaster it as my avitar..i'm still shopping around for servers...



BTW...does anyone have a say for Direct3D Wizard 1.4 (PC)?..now that I have an animator on my mac i can probably sneak one on my pc at work...it's freeware so that's checked.
