Hi,

This is a the first in a series of poems I'm writing. This one takes place somewhere before season 4, where Tara first sees Willow, maybe at Sunnydale High, or maybe in college, take your pick. This poem also contains a spoiler about Tara's "demon" that she thinks she has, which I think would be a hard thing for her to deal with. The poems will be told in the first person by both girls as time goes along, so there will be some by Willow too. This is my very first poem so I'd love some feedback! It has a lot of angst in it, but I do intend to have the girls end up together at the end of the poems and live happily ever after. :wtkiss :wtkiss :wtkiss

Disclaimer:I don't own these characters - they are property of Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy.

The Demon Inside

The sun is my setting heart,
bleeding its redness,
seeping it over the once-blue mountains
where my demon lives
pulsing, throbbing,
waiting for a chance to come out of my nightmares and attack.
I breathe, but just barely,
I feel the wind on my face
sweeping inside, ever inside,
to the tight, hard rock of Golgotha which is my soul.
The evil that will come out of me someday
will run, scream, speak another language
which I won't undestand.
I hang my head from the ever-watching stars.
I try to speak my shame away but fail.

But here you come,
an angel in green,
which side of me will you see?
Is the fire within me when I look at you
the orange flickering of my secret devil,
or the soaring warmth of flaming passion
that only you can bring?
Warmth, the fiery color of your hair,
can I run my fingers through it,
can I dream in your arms, my Willow?
Glance towards me,
brush against my hand,
we could bury my dragon forever with a spark.

Wow...really good. It was very emotive and I think it really captures Taa's feelings at the beginning. I really hope you post more :)

BlondCavalier,

Wow! Beautiful and powerful images!

I was struck with the fire images, the shame, and the idea of burying the fire with a spark.

Really lovely!

I love the strong images and particularly, the colors in the second stanza. Willow in green = a gorgeous picture *scrolls down to stare at the middle picture a bit, then scrolls back up*
Anyway. I really really like the idea of this fic, and please continue! It's a very creative way of going about it, much better than mine, and... yes, please continue :)

I'm so glad you liked it. I'm really intrigued with the early episodes with her and her demon. I definitely plan to continue with a poem from Willow's point of view. Thank you for being the first person to encourage me on my first poem!

It came to me during a really emotional time, that's why I saw the fire images. I'm always moved by Tara's plight and her wanting to bury her demon in her love for Willow. BTW, I really like your story, How I met your mother.

I think green is definitely her color too. I'm an art nerd, so I really enjoyed writing about colors and I'm glad you liked them.

Thank you! The one I am working on now is about Willow dealing with her tumultuous relationship with werewolf Oz, and takes place at the beginning of her relationship with Tara. This is me right now ---> :kgeek
And btw, I'm really looking forward to reading your fic too, and I'm sure mine is not better :blush
