Well, heck. I wanted this to be my 100th post for my cool Yellow Badge, but I guess not. Oh, well.
Again, mucho thanks to everyone for reading. Just a note, every character in this story was a real person. Don’t tell anybody, okay?
And now, the responses.
Willowtree252 – Yes, Dianne…snarky until I die. That’s just the way it works and you’re well aware of this fact. Thanks for the comments.
Zampsa1975 – Yes, Bill is pretty creepy, but I’m glad you liked the story. Thank you.
Kayde – Hey, you can love Bill all you like. I like him, too. Glad you liked the smut. Thanks for the comments.
katjetson – Yes, me, really… imagine that. Is “fanfic time” something like “dog years”? I’m happy to have been able to give you a satisfied laugh (Tara shooting herself in the head was a favorite image of mine, too…like those totally evil and snarky fantasies in Six Feet Under). And drunk Willow…well, I wrote that part of this story over a year ago, so I kind of forgot about the Alcy thing, but I’m sure she won’t mind. Also, I was just as happy as you were that it wasn’t me swirling and hurling, so I totally get where you’re coming from.

I've missed you. Gosh, I've just missed you here so. fucking. much. Thanks and yay for this.
Well, thank you and you’re welcome. Talk to you soon.
synthwrr – Hey! Yes, I’m a meanie, and you’re certainly not the first person to tell me this. I’m happy that you were satisfied. Thanks for the comments.
WillowRulez – Hi! How are you?
Quote:
Really enjoyed how Tara went totally into cop-mode when Mr. Grabby Hands was all over Willow.
Thanks. That’s another of my favorite scenes.
Quote:
I hope you will write another short story about Agent Maclay and Dr. Rosenberg some day.
Never say never, right? Nothing is in the planning stages right now (well, except for the third book), but that’s always subject to change.
Quote:
I am looking forward to the book and hope that it is possible to order it via Amazon too.
Absolutely. It will be available via Amazon.com as well as on the
Bold Strokes Books website. Thanks again.
Paint the Sky – Thanks so much. You leave really great comments. I especially loved your use of the word hilarious. That made me smile. Bill was fun to write because I basically had him do the things that would irritate me the most.
Quote:
As were the various musings about throwing him overboard, keel-hauling and suicide as an alternative to sheer mind-numbing boredom.
That was my favorite aspect of the story because I know that everyone entertains their own fantasies for given situations, so it’s a great way to develop a character. It’s usually funny, too, so that’s a plus.

In the back of my mind I couldn't help but think how Bobby would have had a field day with all this.
Yeah, I agree. I tried to work him in, but I ran out of story. I thought about Bobby picking them up in Baltimore when they got home, but I just didn’t need it. Next time, okay?

Willow singing Deliah - well, that will stay with me longer than I would like - lol.
It does that to me, too.

I imagined an unwritten scene with Sharon, were she sat patiently explaining things to him. Reminding him about when they were young and in-love and wanted only to be alone with other etc. Some people you have to draw pictures for, and Bill is one of these. I could see his face as the truth dawned on him.
You know, I saw that same scene in my head, so Bill’s turnaround made perfect sense to me. I think when Tara told him to leave her alone so she could be alone with her girlfriend, Bill started to get the picture. But I think Sharon filled in the blanks for him. Good catch.

It was so good to see Agent Maclay and Professor Rosenberg again, I hadn't realized how much I missed them, until now.
Again, I had a similar reaction. Thanks for the great comments.
PolarBear – Quote:
Superb!
Niiiice! Thank you.

I had mixed feelings of this Bill guy. He doesn't intend to do any harm but is too self-centered to see what people really want. Actually, maybe that's why he's so annoying. ..Okay, maybe he learned something.
Redemption always makes for a happy ending, so I didn’t want the story to end with everyone thinking that Bill was a lost cause. He’s basically a nice, well-intentioned guy, albeit kind of pushy.
Quote:
I also realized that I haven't read all of your short stories (just the one dealing with cliches, and btw, that was awesome!). I'll have to fix that asap.
I hope you do that. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for the nice comments.
BadAssKnitter – Thank you so much. Kind words indeed.
Quote:
That perfect blend of snarky and smutty that defines a DL Line fic.
Wow. It’s like you know me. Cool.
Quote:
I so agree with the folks who want more of Agent Maclay.
Noted. Is it wrong that I’m writing fanfiction for my own novel? Seems pretty narcissistic, but that’s nothing new.
Quote:
If I haven't said it already, congratulations on the Bold Strokes deal. Can't wait to see your books at B&N!!
Oh, me too. Thanks again.
One of a Kind – Thanks for commenting. I really appreciate it.
Quote:
Bill is just that type of guy that you meet when you really, really have nooooo time at all for the bullshit that they offer. Or is it just my luck?
No, it happens to me all the time. I don’t know if you read above, but all of the characters (well, except for the girls) are real people in my life. It’s kind of scary, isn’t it?
Quote:
Anyway, I’m looking forward to more stories about Agent Maclay and Dr. Rosenberg!
Again, noted. It just might happen. Thanks again.
Tara the Phoenix – You know how much I love your comments, so thanks for this great set of them. You’re so cool!
Quote:
How very evil of you!
Me? Evil? Well, okay.
Quote:
Yet what a delight to see the side-by-side antics of team Rosenberg/Maclay, as they tried to deal with the Big Bad of the seas.
Like I questioned above to BadAssKnitter, do you think it’s strange that I’m writing fanfic for my own novel.? Is that narcissistic? It’s okay if it is, but I was just curious.
Quote:
Talk about your slow torture!
You’re certainly not the first person to call me a literary tease. Truth be told, I like hearing that. It means that I did my job right. Thanks.
Quote:
Thanks for the yummy treat!
You’re always welcome. Thank you.
taralicious – Hi and thanks for commenting.

The only thing worse than being stuck with a complete stranger like Bill is being stuck with someone like Bill who is a relative.
Yes, I'd have to agree with that.
Quote:
Willow and Tara finally got their alone time and we all got vicarious cruise ship smut. YAY!
Hey, I aim to please. Thanks again.
wimpy0729 – Hey, You! I was worried. Glad you made it.
Quote:
Oh, such a joy to see these two at it again. I've missed their adventures so much.
Yeah, me too.
Quote:
…and you wrote his character so well, you made us hate him right along with our girls.
Thanks for that. Means I did it right.
Quote:
I did love the part when "Cop Tara" finally came out and straightened out the guy groping her girlfriend. You know I love butchy Tara.
I do know that. Also, I was thinking of you when I put Tara in her Buckeye baseball cap. I know you love that, too.
Quote:
I'm so glad they finally got their much-needed alone time and we got our hot gay lovin. God, I've missed that.
Well, you know that I have a reputation to maintain by now, so I’m glad that the smut made everyone happy. I aim to please.
Quote:
But the ending was cool how they got beyond everything and actually wanted to spend time with Bill and his wife.
Like I said above, redemption always makes for a happy ending, and the reason it took me over a year to finish this story was because I couldn’t find the ending. Chris helped me with this a lot, and I’m glad that you liked it.
Quote:
Awesome job again and hopefully you'll be giving us more little short stories soon.
Probably, just not sure when. Talk to you soon. Thanks and hugs to your family and the pets.
Diane.
