Mrs Vertigo… The Children’s station will be on right after Pacific Tides. Thank you for the thumbs up! I’ll try to keep Winna all mysterious-like for you….heh.

Grimlock72…Winna likes to explain her toys because chica likes to explain her toys. I’m a gadget fiend. As for her sunglasses…I believe that Winna has a whole dark history that we will eventually learn…those glasses have a lot to do with it. To clarify the gun matter…. It no flare gun…they are explosive tipped so upon impact the bullets explode…sending the napalm derivative out and about…(with a span of about a quarter of a yard…so you have to stand back a bit when shooting.) Gosh I love gadgets!

LeatherQueen… I accept your bucket of bribery…and will offer up more snarky smartassy Willa…Winna…and so forth…

Unionjill30…Yes…Wade is yet another reincarnation of the one we call Xander…right down to the clueless comments. Good catch!

Ange04…Local twinkie! LOL! I have a thing about Hostess goodies (and I mean that in the pastry sense…if you don’t believe me…try reading the Late Shift sometime….or save yourself time and ask someone who has treaded that dangerous path already..) You won me over with the Kona coffee…is there any better? The upcoming episode of Pacific Tides is for you…little Local Twink….(giggles)

TromDeGrey…Being a disciple of me is like…just absolute lunacy…(I’m serious…cause it’s like the blind leading the blind here…) But I graciously thank you for the vote of confidence! As for whether or not you will need a helmet for this ride…ohh…yessirree…yeah-bob will you!

Dekalog…(munching on biscotti merrily) Mrffle-mmmgah-hmmba frrf. (Translation) Thank you for your comments…AAAAnd your biscotti…I am feeling obliged to please what with all the tasty snackies.

Mollyig… Indeed…you seem to know Winna’s winning ways quite well already…she is used to getting her own way…and me thinks she will again. Stay tuned.

Grimaldi…Thank you for your vote of confidence! Welcome to the block! Pull up a cushy overstuffed chair and hang out!

Big Dummy…Hey your screen name is the same as my real name! I like that! Heh. I’m glad you are liking the thread and I’m certain the Great Computer in the Sky will be able to service you in Atlanta (or was that Atlantis? We service that one too…)

Polgara…(rubs hands together evil-like) I caught another one in my web…(hypnotically) You are addicted…addicted…addicted…mwahahahahahaha!

Barnabasvamp…little did ya’ll know, I am actually writing an autobiography and I AM Winna…dark glasses and all…I only wear my Mylar out on the town though…it’s a little…erm….fitting….heh…

stay tuned for Pacific Tides (coming soonish)

Oh...the dreaded double-post!

What must be done...must be done...for the good of the nations...and what not...(sigh for the burden I carry)

Pacific Tides Channel

Pilot Episode of: La’akalani Beach

Story Premise: Nestled between two warring Beachfront resorts lies a valuable little piece of land called La’akalani Ranch.

Here.

A hop, skip, and a jump from Hanaina Resorts. Literally.

If you happened to stand on the northernmost Hanaina “luxury hut” and took a good, strong hop…a mildly definitive skip…and a teeny-tiny jump…you would be standing on our front porch.

Golf balls <> off our battered, blue, VW bus constantly. Occasionally, my brother… Keoki has had to escort wayward Haoles (tourists) off our little strip of land.

But we won’t sell.

And every golf ball-sized dent in our bus, every broken window, and every brightly-adorned, lost, sunburned tourist that knocks on our door…presses the point more firmly…and roots us even further to our little swath of land.

It builds up our resistance…like to a plague.

But we won’t sell.

The resorts can go up all around us…sandwich us in…squeeze us in till we can barely breathe…fill our ocean with floral prints…and the disgusting oil slick caused by thousands of bodies covered in SPF 10,000 or higher.

We won’t sell.

**

It was a perfect day.

The comfortable rumble of the ocean was like a call to arms for my brothers. They took to the water with the eerie concentrative reverence that they sometimes possessed. I made a spot for myself in the dry sand and squinted out over the water. The boys were already in place sitting on their boards in the distance…chatting each other up and waiting for the waves to come up.

Keoki…ever attentive to the fact that I was not with them out there, raised a hand to me. I gave him a casual wave in return, content to spend my time right where I was…on the sand…paying my respects to the water from a good, safe distance.

(Not yet…it’s too soon to go back in after….)

All four of my brothers waved to me then. Four. And here I am the only girl…and don’t think THAT wasn’t a miracle in itself.

The miracle of adoption to be precise.

I try to think back to a time that this island was not my home. All the way back to a place where my name was Tara and I was one of twenty group-home children.

Memories are funny things. I try not to let mine exceed the last rainstorm…the patter of large drops of water against palm fronds … the call of a bird in the distance…

No…now I’m Kali…somehow I think I was meant to be the woman I am now…sitting on this shore…and keeping a watchful eye on my older brothers.

But lately, I have been spending less and less time watching the boys surf, and more time writing surly letters to our local newspaper. Righteously writing about the plight of being sandwiched between the Hanaina Hotel Resort and the Rosewood Resort. Because no matter how many lawyers in gray suits come knocking on our door…

We will not sell.

**

It was a perfect day.

And by that I meant it started off that way. Me on the beach with my pen and paper…the boys in their natural habitat on the waves…

And then…

“ Hey! Hi! How ya doing???” A breathless male voice cut through my concentration. I lifted a hand to shield my eyes. In the sun I could make out four silhouettes coming up on me. The closest of them was the one who spoke to me.

I blinked up at him dumbly, as though he were speaking another language.

This first one wore bright blue OP shorts and carried a designer board under his arm. His pale skin was burnt from the top of his little blonde head to the soles of his feet.

“ Hi.” He said again…grinning down at me, and helping me out by blocking my sun enough to see properly. I dropped my hand.

“ How are the waves, Dude?” Another breathless blonde surfer asked, coming up next to his sunburned brother.

(I could FEEL more than see four long boards skimming over the water towards land like targeted missiles.)

(This is not going to be pretty)

“ Are you…lost?” I asked. It happened about twice a week…some of the tourists would get off their resort and we would politely (or not so politely in my brother’s case) herd them back onto their land. I figured that I could probably save their lives by escorting them back to whichever resort they had come from.

I stood up and brushed off my legs.

“ We thought the waves would be radder over off the reef here…” The first young man said jovially. The rest of his mini posse flanked him which basically consisted of a tall, dark-haired fleshy guy who looked like he had never seen the sun until this very day…

And the all-too disturbing sound of all of my brothers’ feet slapping through the shallow water.

(Here we go…)

“ Can we show you HOME?” Keoki said with surprisingly more manners than I had expected.

“ We came out here to surf is all…” The first guy said…looking a little nervous under the iron stare of all four local boys. Off to the left I caught sight of someone coming down the slope of the beach from the direction of the Rosewood Resort. Reinforcements most likely.

“ This beach is off limits.” Kelani, The second youngest, said firmly.

“ We’re guests here…You don’t own the beach, brother.” The second blond said with a scoff. I wished he hadn’t scoffed.

“No…Dis beach…right here…owns me…brudduh… We were just out there on the water…and she asked us to protect her virtue from little shubees like you with toothpicks for boards.…” Keoki said…puffing up slightly before our very eyes. He had a way of making himself look more menacing than he really was.

“ Keoki…come-on…” I said…putting a hand on his arm. I didn’t want a fight to erupt…

“ No…there’s no ‘come on’, Kali …these guys have miles of beach to play on…and they come here to ours…” Keoki pulled away from me. He had a point…but it didn’t mean there needed to be violence.

The first blond surfer looked off at the nearing figure.

“ Rosey…tell them we can surf here!” He whined. All of us turned to the young fire-haired woman walking through the sand in cutoffs and a white shirt.

“ I told you guys that THIS is not part of the resort…and…NO…you can’t surf over here…” She said exasperatedly to the surfers.

Okay… I had the immediate urge to check my hair to see if it had fallen out of the haphazard braids I put in this morning. There was no need to check my make-up. Frankly, sixteen years of ocean air and sun didn’t warrant it. I instead took a death grip on Keoki’s arm.

“I’m sorry…I don’t have enough leashes to keep them all in check.” She said to Keoki. Particularly good tactic, since he was the tallest and the angriest of our group. “ I’m Roselyn…er…Rosewood.” She looked embarrassed about saying her own name…like it held some kind of monstrous burden for her. She stuck out her hand and gave us a smile filled with apologies.

Rosewood.

Rosewood….Damn it…

“Ow!” Keoki finally shouted as my grip intensified. He wrenched his arm away…leaving my hands empty to do nothing but shake her hand.

It was warm and smooth and wholly comfortable in my own…just as I dreaded it would be. My heart even skipped a little beat…just a little mind you…she was a Rosewood after all…

“I’m Kali.” I said. “ These are my brothers, Keoki, Kelani, Moki, and the little one is Lopaka,

“ No last names?” Roselyn asked.

“ La’akalani.” I said…slowly enough for her to catch all of the syllables. She tilted her head slightly. I could see her gears working. She was trying to place the name. Probably a name she had heard her father mention over the dinner table as many times as we had mentioned her last name over our own.

“ As in La’akalani Ranch.” Moki…our resident political activist offered her in assistance. He certainly must have loved the expression on her face.

(La’akalani….Damn it….) Her expression read as clear as the water on a windless morning.

She seemed to be looking for a way out…but she seemed to have a habit that I have been known to be guilty of…speaking when it’s…just not safe…

“ He didn’t tell me people lived down here.” She said…then made the face that told me she regretted making words and sound come out of her mouth at all.

“ Just crabs…seashells…horses…and a family of seven.” I said…trying to make light of it.

The effect was not exactly what I had expected.

Roselyn Rosewood or “Rosie” to her friends and family…paled…turned abruptly on her heel…

… and stormed up the beach.

“ I am going to kill him!” She spat under her breath.

Commercial…

Stay tuned for the Children’s Broadcast Station….

This all seems so Romeo and Juliet with the families perhaps warring with each other and the potential for forbidden love. I'd like to see where you're going with this.

Yay! Children's Broadcase up next. I'm loving the line-up. I can't wait for the update.

and thank you for pleasing - Kali, what a perfect name - spunky, and I like spunky. You make it difficult for a girl to keep up with her remote, all these good shows to choose from.

Unionjill30…Romeo and Juliet…ahem…you don’t say…actually you DO say…Yes…I was going to put it in the premise…but I knew you would figure it out just as quickly…you smart thing, you.

Big Dummy…I am so glad you like my fic(s)…or fictettes…or fickies….I’m not sure what they are…fickles? And with your “hero” remark…you totally have that song stuck in my head now…thank you…now I’ll have to watch Beaches to purge it from my head…and I ALWAYS cry… EVERY SINGLE TIME….

JewWitch18…Welcome to the thread. Thank you for reading me! I will try my very best to bring these to their conclusions…but as you might or might not know…I’m notorious for dragging out stories…NO-torious…

Mollyig…Aww… Mollyig…have I ever thanked you for your comments…you are one of my most constant motivators. …okay…I was just about to end this…and still I hadn’t said the words…I’m a goon….THANK YOU, MOLLYIG!!! You are a gem. (and not in the Late Shift way)

Dekalog…Actually…the name Kali is actually Tara in Hawaiian….I thought it fitting for her. As for the remote…you push it…I write it…I like to give people options…options or choices…or whatever…you choose your word…heh.

tkheaven…I’m sorry I broke your channel picker there, tk…but I’ll try to keep them all fun so you don’t have to choose…you can just put it on TIVO and go out on the town.

ange04…It was my pleasure! I loved writing about a little taste of home. It’s sadly not the North Shore…It’s closer to Ewa…and totally imaginary…but it’s still a little piece of my heart. I will certainly have our gals dabble in shave-ice…but that might have to wait for cable access…heh. And dearheart…Kona coffee is always a great bribe…

Okay…enjoy the show! This one drained me! Writing kid’s stuff is much HARDER…golly gee…who would have thought???

Channel 8: The Children’s Broadcast Station

Pilot Episode of: The Big Rainbow House

Premise: A show focused on building young children’s self-esteem in a comfortable environment.

The Big Rainbow House

(Upbeat children’s music plays. It is full of timpani, banjo, and a sloppy trombone)

* Smiling flowers dance…the Sun in the too-blue sky bobs its head to the music…in fact all of the puppetry is rocking out to the music as we…*

Travel…travel…travel… down a path…

Where a huge puppet turtle with a big yellow number 8 on his side, bops down the trail to the music. A turtle bus with a Number 3 is snoozing against a dancing tree.

A grown up voice calls out: “ Hey Kids!!! Where ya going to???”

(Ba-dum-bum-bum…)

(Singing starts)

Make sure to take the turtle bus…number eight

(Cuz number three will fall asleep…and you’ll be late.)

Take Bubble Gum Highway to the Licorice Trail

And that’s how you get to SUNNY-DALE!

Through Graham Cracker Canyon…over Hot Cocoa Creek

Up Chocolate Chip Mountain to its white chocolate peak

And up there on the other side of Purple Pez Street

Is the funnest little family that you’ll ever meet.

When it gets dark…you won’t need a light on

As long as you are dancing with the glowing green ball, Dawn.

Where can you have tea and cake with a little British mouse?

Why with

The Two Gay Wicca in the Big Rainbow House!

(La-la-la-la-la)

Meet Tara who sings

While Willow does math

And Rupert the Mouse figures out the biostatistical equivalent of a Feros Demon’s approximate anger to action ratio of his fiery wrath.

Where can you be a “life partner” but never a state-accepted spouse?

Why…with the Two Gay Wicca in the Big Rainbow House!

(La-la-la-la-la-)

The turtle bus lets the passengers off in front of the Big Rainbow House.

Tara and Willow puppets wave from the windows. Rupert the Mouse waves from the chimney…and a little green orb of light zips around in the background.

(ba-dum!)

(End of theme song)

Today…we are in Tara and Willow’s room. Tara is sitting at a vanity…brushing her long blond yarn.

Tara: Hi kids! I’m sooooo glad you came to visit us again in our house…we just love company! Why…just yesterday I was telling Willow that we should all have tea and cake with Rupert…and sing some songs…so that’s just what we’ll do…

But first…we have to clean up so we can go down. We always clean up first…right? We wash our face…and hands…and we brush our hair…and we look in our mirrors…and we smile…and tell ourselves lots of positive things…right?

(Music swells)

When no one seems to be on your side

When things all seem to be going bad

When ‘tough’ is sort of …all the time you’ve had

Just stand up tall….

And shrug it all…away…..

Just say……

Just…

Say to that kid in the mirror…

Say to that face in the stream…

Say to that smile in your window

Say to that you in your dreams

I like you, Me……

I like you, Me……

Listen to people who love you

Collect all the hugs that you can

And smile at everyone you see….

But most of all…

When you feel small…

Be sure to find that kid in your reflection

And remind them…

I like you, Me…

I like you, Me…

If you learn to do that everyday…

Then all your bad…and sad…and tough…

Will always go…a…way………

I like you, Me……

I like you, Me……

(softly )

I like you……….Me………

Tara puts her brush down and gets up.

Tara: Let’s go downstairs and see what Willow is doing.

(commercial)

Yes…it is short…but remember this station recognizes the short and wonderful attention span of the child…and the potential to bombard them with flashy toy commercials…

Stay tuned for more of…the SO-REAL Network… I believe we last left our girls with a candle….eh???

Thankies for the Children’s Station!! My god, could you get any better? I mean, I just think of the crazyness that one can pull off in children shows where superlatives are pretty much the name of the game… A dark and inspired mind can work some scary mojo through that little petri dish of a station. It’s just a natural habitat for all things insane and brainwashy. As a kid I deeply despised all children shows, cause I thought they were telling me what to think. Which, y’know, they were. Now I find that stuff hilarious.

Oh, and on La’akalani Beach - my god. You’d make a fine drama writer, if you ever put your mind to it. You’ve got the flow, the sharpness… I’d have been an addicted fan of the first degree had you ever published.

Oh, and by the way, Polgara, does your name have anything to do with a certain black haired young lady? Y’know, young as in… say, ‘round two thwo thousand? Good with the cooking? Rings a bell?

Oh man. This is like Mr. Rogers meets Sesame Street meets Candy Land meets a whole bunch of other stuff from my childhood in the 80's. Hilarious. My only question is this: Are the puppets life size such as say Big Bird or Telly or are they the little hand held size such as King Friday? For some reason I was visualizing King Friday-esque puppets, but I wanted to clarify with you. Personally, I prefer the big muppety type guys. Then again, if they were King Friday size, Rupert the mouse would be all ultra-small unless he was a people-size scary mouse. Oh the thoughts to ponder :hmm . Since I have a short attention span like the children you were talking about I'm going to go and watch some flashy commercials and and think about how I absolutely must have that Barbie Dream House or I'll just die.

Pacific Tides Channel:

Could be a Romeo/Julia kinda setup but haven't seen their parents yet :) . I wonder why (curse all those different names:) ) Roselyn is embaressed about her familly name. It's not like she already know the K's lived on the land. Now why did Kali/Tara get nervous about her appearance all of a sudden ? Heh...

About names; is it common that an adapted child gets a new name ? I like Tara better then Kali. That might have something to do with another pen-fic though :) , one where Kali is the name of an evil Godess.

Surprising that a daughter of an appearantly wealthy family has to keep guests in line. She did sound pissed of with her dad for not telling her that people actually lived on that small piece of land.

But those K* names are going to be hard work to learn....:D

Children's Channel:

Took some effort to read 'cos I actually had to visualize it a lot more. Has been a while since I actually watched such a show but it reads awfully familiar :) . Be happy and sing along :)

That loooooong line from Giles the Mouse was hilarious :)

wiccachica, you rock my teenage party world!!! (and that doesn't happen very often anymore, what with me being 23). not only is it very difficult to write well for children, as you observed, it is also (as far as I'm concerned) fucking revolutionary to write a gay kid's show that is not farcical. this is the road to freedom from heterosexism!! yea for independant socialization!!!

...whew, okay, sorry. easily excitable cultural theorist here. but, wow. I love what you've done with this. I could really, really see it, and tara's self-esteem song was wonderful! someday, baby, we'll see this on tv for real...and I know my kids will think I've gone wonky when I burst into tears of happiness.

Dude, we're surrounded by perverts!
No! Well, okay. No. Pez!

Mollyig... I actually have the two songs in my head right now (especially the ' I like you, Me’ song. In order to write that last episode I had to write the actual tunes...Now I have possession of The Big Rainbow House: The Musical....beware such things.

BD...I try to throw wrenches in the works as often as I can. If there had been more shows like this one o television when I was a kid...I would have been glued to the set.

BV... Thank you! I just close my eyes and try to imagine what life would be like if I ran the Television world. Strange, I'll bet...strange and a bit scary.

Polgara...Yes. Sneaky and in love is the plan. I'd really love a little tribute to Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet...(You know what scene I mean...right? Right.)

Mrs. Vertigo…You are most welcome for the Children's Station...believe me when I say that the pleasure is most definitely ALL MINE in these cases. I Really don't know what is going to happen while I'm writing...so when it comes out on paper (or on screen) it's a real surprise....it keeps it fun for me. So I should be thanking YOU for allowing me to remain entertained!:pray

TareBearRS...Hopefully all of the stories do not lead to a giant canyon where we all are propelled to fly off the edge while wearing teeny-tiny little bungee cords...I like to imagine the ends of these fics as 'sitting in a cozy chair...with my geek glasses and my mini Palm top, plotting the end of the (fic) world as we know it… like some genius hacker. (can we say too much caffeine for Niki?):bounce

unionjill30...Yes...I guess subconsciously I am still a child of the 80's. I'm going to have to go with Sesame Street sized...That would make them bigger than King Friday...but smaller than Big Bird...and it would make Rupert the Mouse smaller than a bread box, but big enough to ride around in Barbie's shiny pink Corvette…oh yeah…I think he’d like that.

Grimlock72... Answers to life's big questions: I'd say that Rosey would be embarrassed of her name because her father isn't well liked around those parts...as most resort owners on the lovely Hawaiian Islands are not. Next off...I changed Tara's name to Kali for Hawaiian familiarity purposes and nothing more. It is her Hawaiian name. Though it is not common for adopted children to have their names changed, I WAS adopted...and my name WAS changed...so I'm just taking a little slice of my own life here...just like I did with the Late Shift. (which was Totally true story, you know)...Third off...I'm glad you enjoyed the Children's show. Don't you think we should all be happy and sing along for the good of all humanity?

JewWitch18...I was hoping to have a kid's show (or any show) where two gay characters could share a room...a bed for that matter...and it's not even an after-thought. It should be a given...like Lucy and Desi after pushing their beds together in the later years...and not so much like the mysterious toilet in the Brady House. Not seen and not spoke of for fear of offending the audience. The day this happens (without one of the characters having to die as penance) I too will burst into wonky tears of happiness.

LeatherQueen...You always seem to get my sense of humour. How do you do it? Are you me...but in another state? (State of land...not state of mind) Are you a geek that wears glasses? Do you peruse the science and technology section of a library when you enter? Do you sometimes get computer magazines in the mail and then act all surprised like you have no idea what they are? Cuz if you do...then you ARE me...and I'm glad the world domination of Niki clones has finally begun. Horray! (catches coffee beans)

Mix.... I don't know why...but I really like your screen name...it sounds so tekkie...so...belongs in the Futopia channel episode... (not that I'm hinting that I want your name for my story because that would just be ficstitution...and I never pimp my stories with other people’s names...never ever....

(can I use it?):whistle

tkheaven...I'm glad you liked this channel...I have to say, this new avatar is something of an eye-catcher (not like the previous one...but in the running for colourful) Please keep shocking me with them...it's the only adventure in my days...

Grimaldi... Oh master of the ephemeral sentence...teach me your ways so that I too may become one with the universe. (damn...have I already failed in that sentence alone?)

Channel 3: The SO-REAL Network

Oak Avenue, CA

Episode 1: Part Two

Willow shifts from foot to foot in the darkened hallway. She is wearing a pair of puffy cloud pajama bottoms and a light blue T-shirt.

" Hi." Willow says from the hall. Tara stands in the doorway for several seconds, looking at her visitor. " I brought you candles. I didn't know if you had any...and my electricity has been going bazonkers all night...I just thought if you had the same problem...well then...you would need candles...and here I brought a few extra just in case. Candles." Willow says…and finally takes a breath...smiles...and waits for a reaction...ANY reaction from the blond staring at her.

Tara seems to find herself...and her manners to boot. She pulls open the door wider and steps out of the way.

" Come in." She says

Willow walks into the room and sees the score of candles already lit in the room.

" Looks like you have all the candles you need." She says...more to herself than to Tara.

" A girl could never have enough...candles..." Tara says, making room on her bed for them to sit...glad to have someone here to make the shadows in the room seem to be...only...shadows.

Willow sits down and looks around the room.

" You made your room up so nice...mine looks like a nun's quarters."

" I'm sure it doesn't." Tara says with a little laugh...not sure why it came out sounding like a nervous titter.

" Oh...I've got a cousin in a nunnery...she's got much better decorations than I do. It's cozy and cool, really... In a nunny way." Willow says.

"Right." Tara says with mock seriousness at Willow’s banter. " Thank you for the candles."

" Yeah...they even smell nice...but only when they're...flamey...you know..."

Tara notes that the red head seems to be as nervous as she is. But while Tara tends to pull herself in...like the petals of a flower at dusk...Willow appears to chatter incessantly.

" I brought a lot of candles...a LOT...I'm sort of... afraid of the dark."

Willow adds...

" How did you get all the way across the house from your room?" Tara asks.

" Oh it was easy enough… I ran… Fast...with my eyes closed. I had to relight the candle when I got to your door...and I think that was the worst part...digging for matches and trying to light it with...my eyes still closed....am I babbling?"

Tara laughs.

" Yes. Kind of." She says, looking at Willow thoughtfully.

The White Room

Tara rakes her fingers down through her blond hair.

Tara... " It WAS really nice of her to come all the way over to my room when she’s got a fear of the dark. She's very nice. She talks a lot (smiles) But I like that. It’s like she has a whole lot of really great thoughts coming out of her mouth all at once...and all of them are wonderful... (then, as an afterthought) It was funny...the whole time she was there...and we were talking and laughing...I didn't even put a second thought to the house...it was like everything else had gone out of FOCUS...except us…does that sound odd?"

Tara's Room

Tara and Willow are laughing on the edge of her bed...their laughter fades to intermittent chuckles...then to serious looks on both of the girls' faces. They look at each other for a very long span of time.

Tara and Willow both mutually lean heavier on the hands that are on the bed between them as they start to move in for....something...

K.C.'s Room...via Satellite

We are on a hand held camera. The picture is shaky, but easy to make out. Tara's high school boyfriend is fiddling with his hair in the mirror...his friend Kyle is sitting in a chair near the television. His mouth drops open.

" Dude...you HAVE to see this." Kyle says.

"What?" K.C. says into the mirror.

" I think your... is about to...you better come and see for yourself...." Kyle says with an awe-filled grin. K.C. Puts the brush down and walks towards the television...

Tara's Room

Tara and Willow ease towards each other...senses tingling...breathing rapid...heads swimming with the impending contact...Tara reaches up and puts a hand on Willow's cheek...Willow puts a hand on Tara's throat...They close their eyes....

<>

Three loud raps…the bedroom door slams open… and the girls break apart and spin away from each other so quickly that Willow falls off the side of the bed.

" Are you hearing this house??? Is this the scariest s**t you ever heard??? I totally knew you would be terrified right now...so I'm here to keep you company...or warm...or whatever..." Tustin says with a lascivious grin. He nods at Willow picking herself up off the floor. " Hiya Red. I can extend that offer if you want...there's enough of the Tustin to go around..."

He closes the door behind him and walks over to the bed...where he makes himself at home by plunking down and picking up the picture on her nightstand of her and K.C. Smiling up at the camera.

“Pleh.” Tustin says and sets it back down.

" I should go." Willow says, flustered and blushing profusely. Tara doesn't know what to think...so she goes on gut reaction.

She moves in front of the door to block Willow.

"No!...You're not going...TUSTIN is going...." She says pointedly. They look at each other.

(I don’t know what just happened…but by god it’s going to happen again if it kills…well…if it kills Tustin…)

“Out.” Tara said again to the lounging goon on her bed.

" I'm not going anywhere...besides...I'm scared. You would put me out there in the house...alone?…vulnerable?" Tustin pouts.

" Yes. Get out." Tara says firmly...still keeping Willow from her escape.

Tustin sighs.

"Fine...but wen the house starts that creaking, groaning crap all over...don't come running to me." He gets up and Tara moves aside to let him out.

He swings open the door.

" Hi guys! I heard a party down here." Alec says from the hall. He is pasty-pale and moving forward too fast to stop. He lets himself in quickly.

" Plus I'm kind of scared out of my gourd right now...so that too..." He says as he shuts the door. Now Tustin and Alec are in the room with them.

Tara bites back a scream of frustration.

" I’m pretty sure I just saw the ghost." Alec says matter-of-factly before taking a much-earned unconscious nosedive into the area rug in the middle of the room.

:jho arrrgh! why are dumb boys so dumb?? tustin reminds me of a guy who hounded me and my girlfriend all night at this club a while back... he kept saying, "I know you're a lesbian, but I'm a man." as in, step aside so I can input my override code. moron.

but, yay update! I like the SO-REAL network. my three votes are for this, futopia (cuz will all femme-nikita'd out is, uhm... :thud ) and I'm gonna go out on a limb and cast a vote for "nine west," hoping it will lead to tara galloping into town in chaps and a stetson (mama yama!) and not a shoe-buying variety hour...

The all-chica channel! All-chica, All-gay, All the time! :lol And all the commercials will have smell-o-vision and be nothing but coffee and coffeeshop commercials.

Ah, anyway, back from my dreamland... a splendiferous update, dearie. I can feel Tara's frustration coming thru my TV. Poor thing. I think I shall have to cast my vote for Channel Three: The SO-REAL Network, just to try and get the poor girl some relief. Altho, everything in me is pulling for more of hotties in bikinis... I mean Pacific Tides. ;)

As for your astute observations upon my character:

Quote:
LeatherQueen...You always seem to get my sense of humour. How do you do it? Are you me...but in another state? (State of land...not state of mind)

Why yes. Yes I am. I am you, but in your liquid fire state. Also known as Texas.

Quote:
Are you a geek that wears glasses?

Hey...! *turns slowly around looking for hidden cameras* How'd you know I wear glasses?

Quote:
Do you peruse the science and technology section of a library when you enter? Do you sometimes get computer magazines in the mail and then act all surprised like you have no idea what they are?

Well actually *whispers* I AM a librarian. To be specific, an Electronic Services Librarian. So I can often be found haunting the darkened stacks reading old copies of "Computers In Libraries". Ahhh... if only I could attend their annual conference in D.C. It'd be heaven, indeed.

Quote:
Cuz if you do...then you ARE me...and I'm glad the world domination of Niki clones has finally begun. Horray! (catches coffee beans)

Wow. :eek That means I'm... I'm... a Niki clone! Ooh... what's my model number?

And for such an astonishingly astute observation about myself (or an extremely sneaky bit of hidden cameras) I believe you earn double handfuls of coffee beans this time. And for the update, I'll toss a few chocolate-covered espresso beans in for ya. I've got a jar of them on my desk for desperate situations. Many a time there was, where important decisions were made with a handful of chocolate espresso beans and a magic 8 ball leading my way.

edited to add: Holy handgrenades, Batman! Was that a long reply, or what? All that just to say, "Go You!"
