tacoda13- Wish granted, update posted.
fhiwda- Bella, you forgot the whipped cream and strawberry on top. Only because I'm allergic to cherries. And maybe I want to...just a little. But its not because you said so. <3 xoxo to you too.
Title: Can't You See My Love

Rating: PG-13/R/NC-17
Disclaimer: The idea was mine. Everything you recognize probably doesn't belong to me. It belongs to Joss Whedon or ME.
Feedback: Yes, please, if you will. Don't be afraid to be harsh if it really sucks.
Summary: My fave fics are the ones that start after Tara leaves. I love make-up stories. So I'm writing one and hoping I can do it justice. It's AU. Though some parts may follow canon.
Dedication: This update goes to the woman who holds my heart, and her family that holds hers. You showed me just what it felt like and there are not near enough words of thanks for that. It's all for you, Bella.
Notes: Spoken words are bolded. Thoughts in italics. It's my first multi-chapter story so bear with me. It might take a while to get to the together part but obviously they will be together. I'm a song-writer above all, so be warned that most of my stuff will contain lyrics I've written, as it was with “What Makes You”.
Notes 2: This is written for fresh beginnings. The second start of something wonderful. Again saying, it always will parallel the good or bad in my life. I hope you enjoy this. It was a pleasure to write.
Chapter 12
Willow listened to the song and it struck a chord in her. Fear most of all, lust coming in a very close second. She knew she wanted Tara and knew she still loved her. But she was afraid, so very afraid that something bad would happen and they would lose each other again. She didn't know how they could make it work. So much time apart, they had different lives now, they were different people. Jobs, and friends and life it all gets in the way. She saw Tara stepping off the stage and fear took over, gripping her body in a panic. She herself stood and walked out of the Bronze. Half running she made it to the doors and beyond hearing Tara calling her name.
"Maybe it really can all be healed with a kiss..." she thought. Willow stopped, a dead stop. Tara ran into her due to the abrupt stop and Willow turned and kissed her. A passionate kiss that pressed Tara into the wall. The fear worked itself into her system again and she pulled away just as abruptly as she had stopped. Then she turned and walked away both breathless and speechless. Unknowing that Tara was both as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both women went home stunned that night. Willow letting her fear take over immediately started packing to leave the very next morning, and Tara trying desperately to figure out what had happened at the Bronze and why Willow had taken off so fast. She ran it around over and over in her mind and it seemed to take forever for her to come around to all of her psychology lessons to realize why Willow had done what she had done. The two strongest human emotions were fear and lust, fear being the strongest of the two. Willow was afraid. Of what Tara had to figure out. She wasn't going to put it off. She immediately left her home and drove to Willow's parents house.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While Tara was driving Willow was packing her things in an insanely unorganized way, at least unorganized for her. She didn't color-code, or even half fold most of it. She stuffed it all into her suitcase mindlessly. She did double and triple check that she had everything, fully intending on never coming back to this place. She was in the middle of her quadruple check when there was a knock at the front door. She figured it was Xander or Buffy wondering where she had gone to and went to answer. She got the suprise of a lifetime when it was Tara on the other side of that door.
"What do you want, Tara?" Willow asked.
"You walked away Willow, you can't think I'm going to let you just get away with that." Willow just stared at her, unable to process what was happening. Tara grabbed her arm and led her to the couch, seeing the suitcase sitting near the chair on the way. With that Tara flipped and gently but not so gently pushed Willow down to the couch and made her sit.
"You're leaving!!" Tara half shouted.
"I can't believe this, I kiss you then you kiss me and now you're taking off without a word? I am not letting you do this. I don't know what it is that you are afraid of, but I do know that you want me. Every action I have seen shows it, you might not always do it consciously but you show it. You love me just as much as I love you, and if anyone were to take even half a look they could see it too. This is me, Willow. Talk to me, tell me what you're afraid of, let me fix it. Let me fix us. Just talk to me."
Willow stared at her a moment, just stared, before simply stating
"It could all go wrong....." Then Willow stood up and walked out of the room without a word. Leaving Tara standing there. She walked up to the room she had as a teenager and shut the door. Tara stood for a moment before following. She didn't bother knocking before entering the room and saw Willow standing at the window sightlessly looking out.
"Willow, I love you" Tara stated. Willow took a moment before giving even a hint that she heard, but she finally turned to look at Tara. Tears were glistening in her eyes.
"I know," she said,
"I love you too. I just don't know if we can work..."
TBC...
By the way song lyrics in the last chapter are from a song I myself wrote with my best friend Mel. This fic is named after it.
