I' ve finally managed to catch up and now I'm nearly out of words.

The whole story is so adoable and wonderfully written.
The twins are just awesome and now Willow and Tara are having a baby. Together!
In this latest chapter I liked your portrait of Taras mood swings. It's soo typical. Damn homones! But I'm glad that there's also a bright sight: insatiable sex-drive... need I say more??? *ggg*

This is a great story. :bow

Hello dear sweet kittens :wave, how are you all doing?

Okay, I have an update all typed up & ready to post for you, but first, I need to say some big thank you's to everyone who left feedback. Your sweet words of praise inspire me beyond words - Thank You :flower

Carleen: I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I felt the need for a 'Willow & Tara quality time together' update & yep, Willow was cute digging herself out of that hole :)
More coming soon

Irene: Now now sweetie, there's no need to be all show off-y just 'cos you're Tara's gynaecologist, it's not nice to be all boast-y to Carleen like that - just kidding (although, you shouldn't be mean to Carleen), you enjoy your little cameo sweetie :)
You never disappoint
Thank you sweetie, I don't ever want to disappoint my lovely readers.
4 months before Willow has a nervous breakdown? :hmm, We'll see :)
I know I didn't go into too much detail with the smut in that update, but I'm glad you enjoyed the imagery ;)

The Rose24: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

watersong84: To be honest, I hadn't given much thought to who might have spoken first in that little sequence. I don't think Willow & Tara could even tell you the answer to that one ;)
P.S. Your P.P.S. was very cute & made me giggle :)

watson: Yeah, poor Tara, but Willow fixed it & made everything okay 'cos deep down, Tara knows that Willow doesn't need reminders to kiss her.
I did some research on pregnancy and sex for one of my fics

Ah yes, I did read (& love) that particular fic of yours - I'm so sorry I didn't leave feedback, I did absolutely adore it, as I do all your fics, but I'm a bad kitten when it comes to leaving feedback. :punish
Of course the Scoobies will be happy about the news, & you'll find out Dawn & Kate's news soon

darkwillow6:
THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST FIC I'VE EVER READ!
:blush :stop Thank you so much, that means the world to me. :flower
The Saturday night dinner should be fun, & I hope you enjoy it and enojoy seeing everyone's reactions & comments.

stillrunning: Did I leave you speechless? - Wow, go me! :D
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Insanity: Thank you - your words mean so very much to me :flower
I'm so glad you're enjoying my story & I hope you continue to do so.

WickedReds: Hey :wave, I've missed your little kittie self (& Smutty too :banana). I'm sorry to hear that RL's been a bitch, I hope everything's okay?
Yep, I have a feeling we'll be seeing a few different Tara's during the course of her pregnancy - I have yet to find one I like more than Take Charge Tara though.... Oh, who am I kidding, I LOVE every Tara :)
& you'll find out Dawnie's news soon

CrazyTaraWitch: Hey, I'm glad your RL's slowed down now :)
Hmm, assertive Tara turned you on did she? :eyebrow Well, we might be seeing more of assertive Tara in future updates ;)
i am greatly enjoying this story, you are a terrific writer
:blush Thank you :flower That means so much to me. :)
More coming soon

Okay, now, a little note for the .Insane Triplets (Irene, Carleen & Watson) - I'm so glad you three are having so much fun in my thread, & watson thank you for the Jaffa Cakes (they're my favourites :D) but, settle down for a little while now, 'cos it's time to read the next update.

The update will be posted very shortly, so, stay tuned kittens

Hugs

Hey Jeanne!

Yes, you did it again. Left me with all the happy feelings, with Willow and Tara's happy news announcement coming up and thinking Dawn and Kate's will be something along that line. So sweet of Tara to not worry about them stealing her thunder.

Of course, the "kiss Tara" list was fabulous and the end result was sexy and hot. Those impulsive moments are priceless with the person you love.

Can't wait for more!

Part 33

Postby kindagay » Sun Jun 05, 2005 7:37 am

Hello Kitties :wave

Irene this is your big debut sweetie - I hope you enjoy it :)

Okay, I did do some research about prenatal visits, but, everything I read seemed to say something different. & I've only ever been to one prenatal visit, with my best friend, but, that was 4 years ago, so, if I get some little detail wrong or anything, I apologise :paranoid

So, without further ado, I give you, part 33....

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The waiting area of Dr Lujan’s private clinic resembled a large living room. The walls were painted a soothing pale yellow; the turquoise carpet was thick and soft and looked practically brand new; and when she had sat down on one of the numerous blue sofas, Tara couldn’t help but comment on how comfortable the chair was.

“This is what sitting on a cloud would feel like.”
“You can’t sit on clouds.” Willow stated matter of factly.
“I know that, but, when you were younger, before you knew that it was impossible, didn’t you used to imagine what it might be like?”
“I guess, but, my mom would have dismissed any musings I might have had about what sitting on a cloud might be like.”
“She wouldn’t even let you pretend?”
“Nope, it was all foolishness and nonsense.” Willow shook her head sadly as she recalled her mother’s words.
“Let’s not do that to our children.” Tara suggested softly, squeezing the redhead’s hand comfortingly.
“Agreed.” Willow smiled, safe in the knowledge that her daughters would always be permitted, no in fact, they would be encouraged to let their imaginations run wild.

A companionable silence followed as Tara looked around the room. There were a number of posters on the wall advising mothers-to-be of what they should and shouldn’t do; a small table was home to boxes of pamphlets and a pile of pregnancy magazines. A large cork notice board ran along the length of the wall to her left, it was cluttered with photographs of babies and thank you cards.

“Are the twins up there?” Tara asked, directing Willow’s attention to the collection of photos.
“I wouldn’t have thought so, not any more. They’ll have been taken down to make room for other babies.”
“That’s a heck of a lot of babies.”
“Yep, Irene’s the best gynaecologist in the whole of California.”
“How did you afford to go private when you had the twins?”
“My parents paid, no grandchild of theirs would be born in that awful public hospital. Only the very best would do. I’m kinda glad they insisted on me coming here, Irene is amazing, and she knows all about the supernatural side of Sunnydale, so she was totally cool about the whole, Oz being a werewolf thing and even gave us advice about the spell to stop the twins from inheriting the wolfie-ness.”
“That’s cool.”
“Yep. She’s a sweetheart, you’ll love her.”

“Ms Maclay, the doctor will see you now.” The young receptionist smiled as the two women walked hand in hand towards Dr Lujan’s room.

----------------------------------

“Willow Rosenberg, look at you, I haven’t seen you in years. How are you and those beautiful little girls of yours? Where are the little sweeties?” The full figured woman instantly stood to greet Willow, hugging her like an old friend.
“Hey Irene, how are you? The twins are doing great, they’re at school now.”
“No way? They’re at school already? Only seems like yesterday since they had their two year check-up.”
“They’re almost six now.”
“Wow, time flies.”
“Irene, this is my partner Tara Maclay.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Irene shook Tara’s hand, her smile and kind brown eyes instantly putting the blonde at ease.

Once everyone was seated, Dr Lujan began her routine questions and tests.

“Okay, I have a feeling that Willow has already figured out your due date?”
“August the fifth.” The redhead answered proudly.
“So that makes you about ten weeks?”
“Almost eleven weeks.” Tara confirmed.
“You really should have come for a visit before you conceived. We could have discussed your options.” Willow almost looked chastised, but a glint in the doctor’s eyes calmed her. “Although I have a sneaking suspicion that you decided on an alternative method of conception?”
“We discussed everything at length and considered all our options. We wanted this baby to be ours, to be made from us, and we did lots of research for the spell and Willow made sure we did all the right things to prepare my body for the pregnancy.”
“I’m sure you did everything right.” Irene smiled. “It might be helpful for me to know the details of the spell, but, that’s not essential.”
Willow and Tara gave joint sighs of relief, smiling adoringly at one another.

“Okay, I’m sure your bladder is just about ready to burst, so, we’ll do the scan and have a little look at this baby of yours first, before we do all the boring tests.”

Expressions of pure excitement lit up Willow and Tara’s faces as Tara moved onto a typical, and rather uncomfortable, metallic doctor’s bed. Tara pushed down the top of her skirt and a large square of blue tissue was tucked over the hem of the skirt.

“Okay, this is gonna be a little cold.” Irene warned as she put a blob of clear gel on Tara’s lower abdomen.

The grey plastic transducer probe was pressed against Tara’s stomach and moved around a little until a distinct drumming sound was heard; it reminded Tara of the sound of horse’s hooves galloping against hard mud, fast and steady.

“That’s the baby’s heart beat, it sounds nice and strong.” Irene informed them, causing Tara’s breath to catch in her throat.
“That’s our baby? Willow, that’s our little girl, can you hear sweetie?”
“I hear it darling.”
“It’s so beautiful.” Tara could feel her heart expanding with love for her unborn child and her crystal blue eyes shone with tears.

“There she is.” The doctor drew the two women’s attention towards the monitor, where a tiny body shaped image could easily be seen.

Neither Willow nor Tara spoke, both completely speechless and overwhelmed. Tears streamed down Tara’s cheeks and Willow placed soft kisses over the blonde’s face.

Tara reached out to touch the screen, tentatively tracing her fingers over the outline of the child.

“Did you want a picture?” Doctor Lujan asked needlessly.
“Yes please.” The two women nodded emphatically as Irene took a snap shot of the foetus.

A few measurements were taken and noted on a little chart. A picture was printed out while Tara wiped her stomach clean and went to the bathroom.

Upon her return to the doctor’s office Tara was questioned, measured, weighed, poked and prodded.

“You’re not squeamish about needles are you?” The doctor asked as she prepared a syringe to take some blood.
“No, I’m not squeamish, but I think Will might want to look away now.” Tara giggled, fully aware that, despite all the vampires and demons and blood Willow had encountered over the years, the redhead would still almost faint at the very sight of a needle.
“I don’t wanna see someone taking your blood.” Willow pouted indignantly.
“Aww, that’s sweet honey. You do know that Irene’s not a vampire right?”
“Don’t even joke about stuff like that baby.”
“Sorry sweetheart. It’s okay, you don’t have to watch.”

Willow held Tara’s hand tightly even as she turned her head away and squeezed her eyes shut from the sight of the needle.

“It’s all done now sweetie.” Tara told Willow softly.
The redhead turned back and placed a gentle kiss over the small band aid on Tara’s arm.
“All better now?”
“Yeah, all better.” Tara confirmed, smiling lovingly at her girl.

Once all the tests had been carried out and some of Willow and Tara’s questions had been answered, Irene confirmed that she was happy with Tara’s progress and told the lovers to schedule another appointment in a month’s time.

The two wiccans walked cheerfully hand in hand across the parking lot towards their car, the picture of their daughter clutched preciously in Tara’s free hand.

I hope that was accurate enough

Wow! I beat Irene (and watson) here and I didn't even try! Damn, I'm good! :party

Jeanne, what a delightful update! It was so nice to see W and T having that experience together. Their banter is so cute! And it's just lovely how the doctor is so understanding of the lives they lead -- so many levels of understanding.

So when are we going to see Lydie and Jules again? I love it when the four of them are living their little family life and having their little family conversations. They're so adorable!

Great job, Jeanne! Can't wait for your next update.

Awww, that was cute :x :applause :-D !!!

Actually, I have no idea how these kinds of appointments would go, but it seemed pretty accurate to me. This part was extremely funny:
You do know that Irene’s not a vampire right?

Hehe! Willow is so funny like that. But then, as I was reading it, i was like, "What if Irene actually WAS a vampire! Ahh! Scary... Please, don't make that happen unless she is like an Angel-type character who is NOT having any happy moments any time soon...

Yay! Baby on the way! Baby on the way! :applause

Okay...I've been absent a while from feedback, sorry 'bout that. Problem is, I don't have much to say at times, I love the whole damn thing, and can't pick out certain things too much, it's the way each even is put together...I dunno, how about a good ol' fashioned "Awwww!"

Hello sweet kittens :wave

I have written the next update, & it's currently awaiting a quick check through (& possibly a teeny change, but I haven't decided about that yet), so, it'll be posted a little later on today.
For now, I have some thank you's for those of you who left sweet feedback to the last part. :flower

Carleen: I'm glad you enjoyed it, & yep, Dr Irene is very understanding - nothing but the best for our girls. :)
Lydie & Jules will return in the next update (I've missed them too), & there'll be lots of cute little family interactions. It's so touching that you find the little family that I've created adorable :)
Update in a little while

Irene: Or should that be Dr Irene? :)
I'm happy that you enjoyed your debut sweetie & I'm so relieved & pleased that you were happy with my portrayal of you :)
I'm glad my research paid off & that I was able to describe the 1st prenatal visit accurately.
Aww, I made you cry sweetie? It means so much to me that I was able to capture that magical moment so well. :x
Yep, you delivered the twins too - I had a feeling that would make you happy :)

watersong84: I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) & don't worry, Irene's not a vampire - I promise

singgirl: A good ol' fashioned 'Awwwww!' is just great :) The fact that you take the time to read my updates & let me know that you're enjoying them means a great deal to me - thank you. :flower

Okay, I should be back with an update in a few hours.

Hugs

But first...
willohand: Thanks for reading, I'm glad you like it

& now, a nice long update for you all - I hope you enjoy.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

It was Saturday afternoon, an hour and a half before the scoobies were due to arrive at Willow and Tara’s house; there was a large chicken roasting in the oven and several vegetables boiling on the cooker top. Willow had taken over the cooking, insisting that Tara put her feet up and relax; Julia was helping to set the table and Lydia had disappeared upstairs.

“Tara, do these potatoes need salting?”
“No, they’re fine. Oh, but the gateaux needs taking out of the freezer.”
“Already done.”
“Thanks sweetie.”

Satisfied that nothing further needed to be done in the kitchen, Willow joined Tara on the couch in the living room.

“Do you know what Lydia’s doing?” The redhead asked her love as she absently stroked the soft hairs on the back of Tara’s neck.
“I think she’s getting changed.”
“Into what?”
“A frog.” Tara suggested with a giggle, then instantly regretted her attempted joke as Willow’s movements stilled and a look of sheer terror spread across the redhead’s face. “I’m sorry, not really a frog, her clothes, she’s changing her clothes. She said she wants to wear one of her pretty dresses.”
“Oh, okay.”
“Lydie wouldn’t turn herself into a frog anyway; she’s as scared of them as you are.”

“Mommy? Can you help me get the plates down please?”

Julia had considered climbing up onto her stool and taking the plates out of the cupboard herself, but, without her sister’s help, that plan was impossible.

A few seconds after Willow had stood up to help Julia, Lydie’s soft voice called from upstairs.

“Tada.”

Tara climbed the stairs and found Lydie, stood in the middle of the landing, half tied up in knots, struggling to force her arm through the wrong strap of a pale blue pinafore dress.

“I think this dress doesn’t fit me any more.” Lydia stated forlornly.
“Sure it does sweetheart, you just need to put it on properly. Here, let me help.” Tara comforted the youngster, pulling the dress off over Lydie’s head and shaking it to straighten it out.
“Honey, your t-shirt’s all inside out, look, the label’s on the outside, and at the front.”

After turning the white polo-neck t-shirt the right way out, Tara picked up the dress, unhooked the dungaree fastenings and popped open the buttons at the waist of the skirt. Lydia stepped into the dress and Tara crossed the straps behind the little girl’s back and snapped them shut at the top of the front bib.

“There you go sweetie, all beautiful.”
“Can you help me with my tights?”
“It’s too warm for tights honey; just put some ankle socks on. Oh, where are those ones with the little blue ribbons? They’d go perfect with your dress.”

----------------------------------

“Ryan’s here.” Julia announced eagerly as her little cousin ran down the street, his parent’s sauntering leisurely behind with Alicia in her stroller.

The twins bounced off the couch, racing to be the one to open the front door, giving each other playful little shoves along the way. Julia’s hand landed over Lydia’s on the door handle and the door was flung open with every ounce of the little girl’s combined strength.

“Will you two go careful with that door; you’ll pull it off its hinges one of these days.” Willow scolded her daughters as the door in question crashed against the wall behind it.
“Sorry mommy.” Lydie and Jules chorused, running down the garden path to greet their cousin.

The children instantly ran through the house and out into the back garden.

“Can we let the rabbit out of his hutch mommy?”
“Okay, just make sure he stays out in the garden, I don’t want your Auntie Anya freaking out.”

Buffy arrived a short time later and everyone sat around in the living room waiting for Dawn and Kate.

“So where is that little sister of yours anyway Buff?” Willow asked curiously, hoping the slayer would blurt out whatever it was that Dawn had been being secretive about.
“I have no idea, she wouldn’t tell me, all I know is that they’ve gone out of town for something.”
“Out of town?”
“Yep, and before you ask, I don’t know where exactly.”
“Well you’re no good for getting the inside scoop are you?”
“Sorry Will, Dawn’s all grown up now, with her own life and her own home.”
“And it’s harder for you to snoop now that she doesn’t live with you.” Xander interjected knowingly.
“Exactly.”

----------------------------------

“Kids, come in and wash your hands.” Willow called outside as she mashed some of the potatoes up and piled them onto three plastic plates for the children.

“Do you need any help?” Buffy asked from the entrance to the kitchen.
“Yeah, could you take the chicken out of the oven?”
“No problem. So how come you’re the cook today? Not that I’m complaining, but Tara usually cooks when we all get together.”
“No particular reason, why should Tara have to do the cooking all the time? I’m perfectly capable of roasting a chicken and boiling some vegetables you know?”
“Calm down Will, I was only asking.”
“Oh, right, sorry.”
“What’s going on? How come you’re all edgy?”
“Nothing, no reason, I’m not edgy, I’m perfectly normal, well, as normal as it’s possible to be, ‘cos you know, there’s not really such a thing as normality, it’s all to do with social consensus and an individual’s own ideas and expectations. But, I’m not edgy, I’m fine and good.”
“You have a secret.”
“No I do not. Why would you think that?”
“Come on Willow, I’ve known you since we were fifteen, and you’ve never been able to keep a secret. Fess up Rosenberg.”
“I’m not saying a word.”

----------------------------------

Everybody sat down to eat and was soon engrossed in conversation.

“How’s school Lydie?” Dawn asked as she helped the little girl cut a piece of chicken.
“It’s good, we had to go to the principal’s office the other day.”
“You two got in trouble?” Xander joined the conversation, shocked that the twins had had to visit the principal.
“No silly, we’re good girls.” Lydia giggled. “Some big boys and girls were being mean to us and the principal made them apopanise… appollenise… uhm, say sorry to us.”
“Apologise.”
“That’s right.”
“Why were they being mean sweetie?”
“Because we have two mommies and they think that that’s bad. But it’s not bad is it? Mommy and Tada said that real love is about two souls that belong together and it has nothing to do with whether you’re a boy or a girl. Love is never a bad thing, that’s right isn’t it?”
“That’s right. And if those bullies give you any trouble again, you just tell one of us and we’ll get it sorted out for you.”
“That’s what Mommy and Tada said.”

----------------------------------

“That wasn’t as unpleasant as I expected, in fact, it was almost as good as Tara’s cooking.” Anya complimented the redhead in her own unique way once everyone was finished eating.
“Uhm, thanks, I think.” Willow gathered the last of the empty plates and carried them through to the kitchen.

Tara followed her love into the kitchen to take a bottle of wine out of the fridge.

“Are you ready for this baby?” Willow whispered as she wrapped her arms around Tara’s waist.
“Yeah.” The blonde leaned her head back onto Willow’s shoulder, luxuriating in her love’s embrace.
“I love you.”

The two lovers returned to the dining room hand in hand and once Tara had poured everyone some wine (and apple juice for the children) Willow cleared her throat to get everyone’s attention.

All eyes turned to the redhead, who was stood at her sweetheart’s side; her finger’s entwined with the blonde’s and an excited smile lighting up her face.

“There was a reason we invited you all around for dinner today, we kinda have an announcement to make.”
“I knew you had a secret.” Buffy interrupted triumphantly.
“Yeah okay Buff, you were right, we do have a secret.”
“So come on Willow, spill already, the suspense is killing us.” Dawn prompted, noticing that the redhead was practically bubbling with excitement.

After a quick, loving glance at Tara, Willow turned back to her family and blurted out.

“Tara’s pregnant. We’re gonna have a baby.”

Willow and Tara were quickly engulfed in hugs and the room was filled with excited voices.

“Oh my god, that’s amazing.”
“I’m so excited; I’m gonna be an auntie again.”
“I’m so happy for you guys.”
“Congratulations on your conception of a new life.”

Once the hugs were over, Xander walked over to Willow and gave her a congratulatory pat on the back.

“Way to go Will, at least you know you’re not firing blanks.”

As a hush descended on the room and everyone’s eyes turned questioningly to the dark haired man he began to frown at his own statement.

“Wait, how does that work?”

Willow smiled fondly at her oldest friend and gave him an affectionate, friendly kiss on the cheek.

“Well obviously they did a spell.” Anya answered the question before Willow had the chance.
“Thank you Anya.” The redhead scowled at the ex-demon.
“It probably involved lots of chanting and they would have had to get all hot and sweaty.”
“Thank you Anya.” Willow repeated, louder this time.
“Anya honey, maybe we should let Willow tell us about the baby.” Xander tried to stop his wife as he realised that Willow was nearing boiling point.
“And lots of orgasms too; orgasms are very good for making babies. Isn’t that right Willow?”

The feel of Tara’s hand gently rubbing her back was the only thing that stopped Willow from screaming at that moment. She closed her eyes and took a deep, calming breath.

“Yes Anya, we did a spell, thank you for explaining that for us.” The redhead’s anger was evident from the way she forced the words out through gritted teeth.
“You’re very welcome Willow.” Anya beamed proudly, completely oblivious to Willow’s irritation.

An uncomfortable silence followed as nobody was quite sure what to say to break the tension in the room. Tara silently rubbed soothing circles over her love’s back and Anya glanced around the room wondering why nobody was speaking.
The silent tension soon became too much for Lydia and Jules, who softly, in unison asked

“What’s an orgasm?”

A second later the dining room was filled with laughter.

The twins just shrugged at one another, completely baffled by the grown-up’s behaviour.

I promise you will find out what Dawn & Kate's news is soon, I just felt that this update was already too long without me trying to squeeze a second announcement in.

Anyway, I hope you liked it

Jeanne~

Thanks so much for the update. And an adorable one at that! Yay for Jules and Lydie! I'm really not what you'd call a "kid person" -- so why they all gravitate to me, I don't know -- but the way you've written those two is just precious. I'm not saying I want to have two just like them...cuz...ACK! But, I could certainly tolerate having them around. ;)

And, as always, Anya is Anya...and I love that. She's such a goof.

Anyway, thanks, again, Jeanne. Lots of fun. Looking forward to the next.

Jeanne sweetie, I missed another update again! ARGH!

How they interact as a family unit, so cute, so warm. I can never get tired of reading something everyday like getting Jules and Lydie dressed, or making dinner, it's never boring in your hands.

And the twins, sigh, soooo cute. Not to mention the announcement. Sigh, I'm all happy now.

Jeanne, I loved this update. You never cease to amaze me :-D

I actually read this last night when i got home from work, but I've only now had a chance to leave feedback, which is a shame, cause I had so many brilliant points to make last night and today all I can think to say is WOW, I really really loved it! :lol

I think this update should be called the Dialogue update, cause there was so much of it, which i loved. I think you write it so well, it flows so naturally.

I think you did a wonderful job of depicting the "family life" that makes this fic so special. The way you write their day to day doings is so real, that, through your words I feel like I am actually there, watching them cook dinner and talk to the twins.

well, that's all for now sweetie. Thank you for updating. It really made my night to come home and see an update posted.

xoxo

At least you know you're not firing blanks

How is it that this site of all places has made me inordinately fond of Xander?? My brain is a strange place ....

Excellent quote, and excellent Anya/Xander interaction.

As someone who would like to have kids but has not had a whole lot of experience with them (only child, no close relatives or friends with them...), I am always appreciative of others takes on parenting and kid interactions. Little devils terrify me actually - as soon as they start talking they instantly know how to trick me somehow.

"So you're sure your mom would be OK with you bungee jumping off the roof after eating the whole chocolate cake? Well, I guess if you do that all the time...." Sigh.

Do you have younger siblings, or are you modelling the kid interactions on anything in particular? (No need to answer if that question is none of my business.)

Regards,

Boschi

i loved lydie in the beginning with her dress...as several of my fellow kittens have pointed out, u r fabulous at writing the day-to-day :bow
i liked how willow attempted to hide their secret from buffy, it so reminded me of her in season 2 (lie to me i think was the episode, if anyone remembers it...) when she and angel when investigating Ford, a friend of Buffy's, and buff accused her of drinking caffeine again...and i know that summary was kind-of all-over-the-place, but what can i say, i'm crazy ;-)
i also loved how excited will got when sharing their joyous news, it was so sweet, and u wrote it perfectly!!!
i was cracking up when anya expalined tara's pregnancy, and xander's reaction was no less hilarious!
but i think my absolutely favourite part was when the twins asked what an orgasm is...i could so picture my twin five-year-old cousins saying the same thing, particularly oscar, who asks questions about everything!!!
i think that ur writing of little kids is just perfect, keep up the good work!

I hope, we'll have more happy ever after

Hello sweet kittens :wave how are you all today?

Okay, I have some big Thank You's to say to everyone who left sweet feedback to the last update :flower

Carleen: I'm glad you felt that the update was adorable :)
Yeah, Jules & Lydie have a way of making you fall for them, no matter how much of a 'kid person' you aren't - they are very cute after all :)
Ah, you've gotta love Anya - she's just so funny :D
Thanks for the feedback - more comng soon

watersong84: I agree, you can never have too much Anya :)
Dawn & Kate's announcement will be in the next update, which will be posted in a few short moments.

watson: I'm so glad you enjoy even the little everyday things & I'm glad you find the twins so cute too :)
Aww, it makes me happy that my update made you happy :)

Irene: Hey sweetie *big hugs*
Funny? Yeah okay, funny's good :) & you can't beat Anya & Xander for some funny lines.
:lol I'm sure if Willow hadn't been laughing so much she would have very quickly tried to change the wording to 'organism' (although I'm not entirely sure Julia & Lydia would have fallen for that one - they're smart little girls).
Jeanne you know I alway look foward to your updates
I always look forward to your feedbacks too sweetie :)
Yep, Dawn & Kate's news next - I do hope it'll be worth the wait.

Emms: Hey sweetie :wave Oh Emms, I had missed your rambles :)
A 'WOW' is all good - I'm so happy that you loved it :)
Yeah, there was quite a lot of dialogue in that update wasn't there? :paranoid I'm glad you feel I write it well & that it flows naturally.
Thanks for the feedback sweetie :flower I'm glad my update made your night :D

Boschi: Xander's not so bad, he does have his redeeming qualities :)
:lol Yeah, kids do have a way of tricking grown-ups, you have to stay on your toes or they end up getting into all kinds of trouble :)
Do you have younger siblings, or are you modelling the kid interactions on anything in particular? (No need to answer if that question is none of my business.)

Don't worry, I don't mind you asking :) The kids interactions are modeled a lot on my nieces, but, since I was little myself, I've always been surrounded by kids (I have LOTS of younger cousins) so, that helps me bring Lydia, Julia & Ryan to life.

CrazyTaraWitch: Fabulous? :stop No... :blush Thanks, I'm glad you feel that I write the day-to-day so well :D
Yeah, I always loved when Willow had a secret on the show - she was so cute all with the nervous babbling & stuff - so, I just couldn't resist putting some of that into my story. :)
Thank you for pointing out all the parts that you enjoyed - Anya & Xander were lots of fun in that update :)
Yep, the twins asking what an orgasm is was my favorite part as well - it was just so cute & funny. :D

Okay my lovely, beautiful kittens, don't go anywhere just yet, I have update-y goodness for you in a matter of minutes :)

Hugs
Jeanne

Postby kindagay » Wed Jun 15, 2005 9:06 am

Okay, who wants to know Dawn & Kate's news?
I know I've been making you wait for ages (that was a bit mean of me wasn't it?), & I hadn't intended to, but, the last update ended up being far too long to fit it in there.
I do hope it was worth waiting for....

___________________________________________________________________________________________

Following a desert of chocolate gateaux, everyone retired to the living room and proceeded to excitedly and adoringly interrogate Willow and Tara.

“Aww, look how cute she is, uhm, it is a she right?” Dawn was busy cooing over the scan picture of the baby, refusing to let anyone else see.
“Yep, that’s our little girl.”
“Isn’t that just the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen?”
“We don’t know Dawn, someone won’t let us see.” Buffy reached and grabbed the picture from her sister’s hand.
“Hey, I was looking at that.”
“You’ve been looking for ten minutes sweetheart, let everyone else see.” Kate reasoned with her wife, smiling lovingly as Dawn pouted.

“Have you picked out any names yet? You can’t have Alicia, that’s my little girl’s name.”
“Don’t worry Anya; we won’t be calling her Alicia.”
“Why not? What’s wrong with Alicia? Is it not good enough for you? Alicia is a perfectly good name.”
“Alicia is a beautiful name Anya, but, it’s special for your little girl and I think we’d get confused if there were two baby Alicia’s in the family.” Tara placated the ex-demon, even though she was slightly confused about what had prompted the rant.
“Oh, yes, okay that does make a lot of sense. So, have you thought of any of your own names?”
“Well, uhm, not really, I uhm, I think it’s a little early, we have another six months to decide what to call her.” Willow answered, the faintest hint of apprehension in her voice.
“Are you serious? You had the twins name’s picked out before you even knew for sure that you were pregnant.” Buffy looked up in shock at her best friend.
“Well, we haven’t really discussed it yet and uhm, it’s really something that we need to decide together.”

Willow fidgeted nervously under everyone’s gaze. Tara gently took the redhead’s hand in her own and urged her love to look at her.

“Sweetie? Do you have a name picked out?”
“I maybe have a little idea of a name that I kind of like the sound of, but uhm, we can discuss it later, together, because I want us to choose our daughter’s name together. It should be a name that we both like, not just, one that I like. Besides, I got to name the twins all on my own, so uhm, I should let you have a say in this little one’s name.”
“Darling, I’m sure whatever the name is, I’ll love it and if you don’t tell me it, how can I tell you whether I like it or not?”
“I kinda like, uhm, the name…”
“Eleanor.” Tara, Lydia and Jules all said at once.
“How did you…?” Willow wasn’t really surprised that Tara knew the name, but she wasn’t sure how the twins knew as well.
“She told us.”
“Yeah, she is our baby sister you know? And you did say that we could help choose a name for her.”
“I think she chose her own name.” Xander pointed out.
“So, is that unanimous? Is my new niece gonna be called Eleanor?” Dawn’s voice almost squeaked with excitement.
“Yes she is, Eleanor Rosenberg-Maclay.” Tara announced, a happy tear shining in the corner of her eye and a beaming smile making her entire face glow.

When everyone had fussed over the ultrasound printout Lydie and Jules took the picture into the kitchen, stuck it onto the magnetic notice board and used their brightly coloured letter magnets to spell out ‘ELLENA’ (they weren’t quite sure how to spell Eleanor) beneath the first photograph of their little sister.

----------------------------------

“I can’t believe you kept this secret for eleven weeks Will, how did you not explode?” Dawn ribbed the redhead as she helped clean the dishes.
“I’m perfectly capable of keeping secrets Dawn.”
“I had to talk her out of announcing it at least ten times, and that was just in the past week.” Tara disputed Willow’s claim as she entered the kitchen to get some juice for Ryan.
“That sounds more likely.” Dawn laughed.
“Speaking of secrets, little miss ‘Kate and I are gonna be late on Saturday’, where did you two go today?” Willow quickly and curiously deflected the attention away from herself.
“You’ll find out soon enough.”
“Come on Dawnie, tell me.”
“It’s really not that interesting.” Dawn finished rinsing out the last of the dishes and walked into the living room.
“Then it doesn’t matter if you tell me does it?” Willow reasoned, as she dried her hands and followed the brunette.
“Give up Willow; I really am capable of keeping a secret.”
“Come on Dawnie, you don’t keep secrets from me, we came out together remember?”
“Excuse me?!” Tara exclaimed, almost dropping Ryan’s juice.
“Hey, that’s exactly how Buffy reacted too.” Dawn pointed out, already giggling in anticipation of Willow’s explanatory babble.

“Oh, no baby, not like that, I mean, we did but we weren’t, uhm… It wasn’t uhm, we weren’t together as in uhm, you know? It was more uhm, together at the same time, but uhm, not, not as a… Not Dawn and I together, ‘cos, well, I mean eww… Oh, no offence to Dawn, I mean, it’s not that Dawn isn’t uhm… I mean she is, very, but, uhm, not, not to me, because, well, there’s the whole uhm… And, and it would have been like, like uhm… with my little sister which, uhm, yeah, again with the eww. So, uhm, yeah, together, but not together together. Uhm, okay?”

“Did anyone manage to make sense of that? ‘Cos I knew what she was trying to say and I didn’t understand.” Having known the redhead since kindergarten, Xander thought he was fairly proficient in Willow-babble, but, the dark-haired man was at a loss.

“You and Dawn came out at the same time, but you weren’t in a relationship together because she’s like your little sister, and that’s kinda gross?” Tara translated and verified Willow’s explanation.
“Exactly.”

“Okay, now that that’s all sorted, how about Dawn and Kate stop being all secretive and tell us where they were today?” Buffy returned to Willow’s prior interrogation.
“Okay fine, we had to go for job interviews. There’s a new law firm setting up just outside of LA and they were looking for some fresh new law graduates to get trained up ready for when they start getting clients.”
“That’s so great, did you get the jobs?” Willow enquired encouragingly.
“We don’t find out officially until the middle of next week, but, one of the interviewers said that we were the best candidates that they’d seen all day and practically offered us the jobs on the spot.”
“Cool, so, you’re gonna be working girls huh?” Xander enthused.
“We sure are.” Kate smiled proudly.
“Well I should think so too, it’s about time you two sorted yourselves out and started earning some money, owning your own home doesn’t come cheap you know?” Anya added her own brand of encouragement.

The double celebration continued until Buffy had to leave for patrol, offering to escort Anya, Xander and the children home. Dawn and Kate borrowed Buffy’s car to drive home and Willow and Tara were left to put Julia and Lydia to bed with no indulgent aunties or uncle to keep them up past their bed-times.

----------------------------------

“When did you know?” Willow asked her love later that night as they snuggled into bed.
“Know what honey?”
“The baby’s name. When did you know?”
“When I saw her on the scan.”
“Yeah, me too. I wonder how the twins knew?”
“Magic sweetheart.”

Willow smiled at this explanation.

“Sweet dreams Tara.” Willow placed a light kiss on Tara’s cheek.
“Sweet dreams baby Eleanor.” Another light kiss, this time on Tara’s stomach.

The redhead settled down next to her lover, her right hand resting gently over her daughter’s safe cocoon, and promptly fell asleep.

“Goodnight Willow.” Tara whispered into the dark and closed her eyes.

Well I get first reply for a change :P. So, yeah! First Reply! WOOT!

That was brilliant. And so sweet.
“When did you know?” Willow asked her love later that night as they snuggled into bed.
“Know what honey?”
“The baby’s name. When did you know?”
“When I saw her on the scan.”
“Yeah, me too. I wonder how the twins knew?”
“Magic sweetheart.”

That really was magic. I love it how they're all magically connected *swoon*.

Dawn and Kate's news, really happy for them. And Dawn? I don't think it's not interesting. It's important, a career move. But that means she and Kate are moving to LA? :(

And, The Art of Deciphering Willowbabble :lol. Even Xander was stumped on that one, no surprise that it was Tara who came up trumps.

Really sweet update, Sweetie. And fast too :clap.

Really nice update, Jeanne. I always love the playful banter among the Scoobies. It reminds me of the first couple of seasons when they were just friends and enjoyed each other. You've kept that joy alive in the friends. Yay!

Looking forward to the next update.
