ARRGGHH!!

Okay...I'm caught up now.

So...Meghan - decendant of unborn Meghan that Tara is now carrying (in the past) - and Logan...also a decendant...have made it into the past. Logan, a blonde Willow. Hmmm, you never did tell us who Meghan looked like....or did you?

Got a question tho - Willow in the present has a body, her soul transported back in time to the body she left in the past. Or did she? I remember Tara saying something about her coming back to her. I gather Willow had a body already there to go into, or did one manifest itself due to the spell? What about Tara? I KNOW that you won't leave them two apart, so how is Tara gonna go to the future? She has no body there to go into...or does she? Or does she manifest her own body as did Logan and Meghan? They left bodies behind, but had none in the past to go into. Will Tara and Willow do that spell to return/go to the future? But that will take pregnant Tara out of the past and then the line will not exist and thus cease the existance of modern day Logan, Meghan and Willow. Ugh. Some explanation here is needed.

Then there is this beastie. The reason this is all happening in the first place. What about him/her/it? And Angel? I know he had something to do with this too - or at least some information - right?

I need more info...input needed now...too hooked to let go.

More Please? Soon?

Love you,

Dyna

TIMELESS - CHAPTER 63

Postby FIRESIGN » Thu Aug 19, 2004 2:29 pm

CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

The woods seemed to be endless, the only thing cutting through them being a small footpath from where Maggie and Logan now stood.

“Well…what do you think?” Logan said, looking down at the path. Unsure of how to proceed next.

“Take my hands, love.” Maggie said, reaching out for the young woman, taking her small, soft hands in hers. “Now…relax…close your eyes…breathe…”

Logan knew at once what her grandmother was asking for, she wanted her grounded and centered before she attempted to locate Willow and Tara.

Slowly the two women’s breathing patterns synchronized…slowly and deeply in…slowly out…until it was as one being taking its breath.

“Through the darkness will you shine, a path to light for me and mine…”

As Maggie spoke, a small, blue glowing orb rose between the women’s joined hands.

“…to those we seek, the brave and true – our blood runs pure – now see us through!”

Slowly, the orb – hovering about four feet from the forest floor – moved through the woods to the east of the footpath.

“It’s not following the path.” Logan said, somewhat concerned.

“Sometimes it’s better to stay off the beaten path…trust, little one. You can’t always lead…sometimes you must just follow.”

That being said, the two women headed off into the woods, following the glowing blue orb…

Meanwhile…

“B! Wait!” Faith said, running after the Slayer.

Buffy picked up her pace, breaking into a full run. It felt good to run, to feel the wind blowing through her golden locks. She was faster than any human…but still not fast enough to run away from the pain, the hurt. It always caught her…always.

Suddenly, from behind, a hand grabbed her arm in mid-swing, spinning her a ‘one-eighty’. Instinctively, she braced for the impact of what was surely going to be a punch or kick from one of her many adversaries…but it never came.

“Geezus, woman! Am I going to have to spend the rest of my life running like this after you? ‘Cause if I am…I’m gonna have to start training for this marathon now!” Faith said, trying to lighten up the situation a bit.

The blonde said nothing…she didn’t have to. The look in her eyes spoke volumes. She caught Faith’s eyes only momentarily before dipping her head, not wanting her to see the tears now flowing freely down her cheeks.

Faith placed her hand under the smaller girl’s chin, lifting until their eyes met. She saw the pain in her counterpart’s eyes…and also knew that no matter what she did, that pain would never go away. Even if Willow and Tara and the others returned, she would eventually lose them…the way that all Slayers lose the ones that they love. Whether through natural or unnatural causes, they would all leave her in the end. All except one…and she would see to that.

Meanwhile…

“Come on, baby…we’ve got to get back to the cottage…” Willow said, her arm wrapped firmly around Tara’s back, guiding her along the path.

“I know…I’m hurrying.” Tara said, feeling a bit weak at the knees.

Willow stopped momentarily, her ears perking up, listening for anything out of the ordinary.

Crack!

The sound of a single twig cracking under weight was followed by the sound of foliage being pushed aside as something moved through the forest heading straight towards them.

Willow raised her hands and began chanting as a glowing blue light floated towards them.

“Willow, NO!” Tara screamed, realizing what she was about to do.

Hey Cin!

Oh wow, they're all there together. This could be confusing. If I remember right, Willow doesn't even know them right? But Tara feels there's a connection so she knows not to let Willow hurt them.

But Tara and her pain have me worried. Please let the baby be alright. Can't let nothing happen to the line, right?

More soon please!

Good morning...

**looks at clock**

yep still morning. Very nice hun. Wonder what Willow will think when she sees a blonde version of herself...or Tara for that matter.

Poor Buffy...losing everyone around her...but she needs to realize, she's lived longer than any slayer becasue of those friends. Slayers normally don't have any in fear of getting too close, so now she's close, but that is what has kept her alive. She needs to see their side of things, she is their friend and they've lost as well and almost as much. She is not alone in this.

Again...more? Lots more and soon?

TIMELESS - CHAPTER 64

Postby FIRESIGN » Sun Sep 05, 2004 1:33 pm

CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR

“I won’t let it hurt you!” Willow yelled, as she prepared to cast everything that she had in the general direction of the glowing blue orb.

“No…don’t! It won’t harm us!” Tara yelled, putting herself in between Willow and the ball of light.

“What are you doing? Baby…get out of the way!” Willow said, trying to guide Tara aside.

“No! Listen to me…it won’t harm us…I swear to you!” Tara said, placing her hand on Willow’s heart.

Although apprehensive, Willow knew that Tara would never put her or their child in danger. Whatever this was, she trusted that it would do no harm to them. She lowered her hands and stopped the spell.

“Thank you.” Tara said, lovingly before turning toward the woods. “Step forward and show yourself, friend.”

From within the shadows in the woods, two forms stepped forward. As they got closer to the glowing light of the orb, it became obvious that it was two women.

Both sets of women stood speechless, mouths agape in amazement as the orb illuminated their faces.

None of them could believe their eyes as they stood looking at each other’s so-familiar features. Maggie was the first to speak.

“I’m sorry that we startled you both…that was not our intention.” She said, smiling softly at the pair. Hoping to put the young redhead at ease a bit. It was clear that she was on guard for anything suspicious.

“Who are y-you?” Tara asked, her nervous stuttering rearing its ugly head once more.

“More importantly…WHAT are you?!” Willow said, defensively.

“Hello…humans! What do you think we are?” Logan piped up, feeling a bit defensive herself.

“Please excuse my granddaughter, she’s got a bit of a spark in her! My name is Maggie…and this is Logan.” She said, nodding in Logan’s direction.

“You…y-you look so much like…” Tara said, her eyes affixed on the blonde version of Willow standing before her.

“Like you, Willow.” Maggie said, smiling as she nodded toward the red witch.

“You know us?” Tara asked.

“Yes, child.” She said, softly.

“Wait…” Willow said, turning to Tara. “…Baby…I think I know what’s going on here. See…this one time…when I was still back in my ‘real’ time, you know…in the future and all? Except it was kinda the past, too…because it already happened. But I guess it didn’t happen here…but if we were back in real time, it would be the past…” Willow babbled.

“Take a deep breath, Will…slow down and tell me what it is you’re talking about.” Tara said, patiently.

Willow took a deep breath, exhaling slowly…trying to decelerate her thoughts.

“Okay…so this one time…Anya tried to get me to do this spell…and things didn’t exactly work out right. See…I…that is ‘me from another dimension’…came into my dimension…but it wasn’t really me…it was kinda a skanky, evily, vamped-out me…and I caused all kinds of problems! So that’s probably what’s going on here! No telling what they are!”

“I believe you’re talking about doppelgangers…loosely translated, a ‘double walker’.” Logan said, very ‘Willow-esque.’ “You know…a shadow self that is thought to accompany every person…that only the person or occasionally their friends and family can actually see it…yadda…yadda. Hate to disappoint you, but we’re not doppelgangers.”

“You’ll have to excuse my granddaughter, she’s quite the babbler.” Maggie said.

“I completely understand.” Said Tara, flashing a slightly lopsided smile at her love. Willow’s babbling was one of her most endearing qualities.

“That still doesn’t explain who you are.” Willow said, matter-of-factly.

“No, it doesn’t…and I promise, I will explain everything. But first…we really should find someplace a bit more suitable and safer than the woods at night.” Maggie said.

“Our cottage isn’t far from here…you can stay the night, if you like.” Tara offered.

“Lay on, McDuff!” Maggie said, quoting Shakespeare.

“Excuse me?” Tara said, completely confused by Maggie’s statement.

“I’m sorry…I forgot, no Shakespeare yet…” Maggie said, giggling, “…lead the way.”

The four women headed down the path through the woods towards the cottage; Tara leading and Willow following behind Maggie and Logan. Still unsure of the strangers’ motives, she kept a close eye on them all…so close, in fact, that she failed to notice that they were being watched from within the shadows…

TIMELESS: CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE

Postby FIRESIGN » Thu Sep 30, 2004 5:40 pm

CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE

A cloaked figure lurked in the shadows, watching closely as the women disappeared through the woods.

"The Master is not going to like this." It said, it's beady eyes shining through the blackness of the hood. It spun quickly, it's cloak billowing out before exploding into a swarm of blow flies, disappearing into the night.

Maggie paused briefly, turning her eyes toward the forest behind them suspiciously.

"Gran?" Logan said, noticing that her grandmother had stopped.

"We're not alone." Maggie said, her blue eyes piercing the night.

"I don't see anything..." Willow said, scanning the woods, looking for movement or anything that seemed out of place.

"It's what I'm not seeing that worries me." Maggie said, plainly. Her eyes never changing their course. "Come on, girls...let's move things along a little faster."

Although Tara had never met Maggie before, she felt the urgency in the elderly woman's voice, and she trusted that her judgement was correct.

"This way...it's shorter." Tara said, leading them down a smaller side path.

The women arrived at Willow and Tara's cottage within a few minutes, with Tara leading the way. She reached out for the door, opening it and gesturing for the others to enter.

"Welcome to our home." Tara said.

Our home. She called it OUR home...

Willow felt as if she was going to cry. No place, not Sunnydale, not England, nowhere had ever felt like home until now.

Maggie could feel the girl's emotions threatening to spill over. She reached out to her, putting her arm around the red-head's slight shoulders and giving her upper arm a squeeze.

How does she know? Willow thought.

Maggie turned to her and smiled softly.

Don't fear me child. I'll never hurt you...and to answer your question...I can feel you.

Meanwhile, back in Sunnydale...

All she wanted to do was run. Run so fast and so far that no one would ever be able to catch up to her. Buffy ran full tilt across the sidewalk, through the park...running until her sides hurt and her lungs heaved trying to pull in enough air to supply the Slayer's system. Finally, in the middle of the cemetery, she stopped...putting her hands on her hips as she bent at the waist, panting heavily. The flood gates opened. There was nothing that she could do...she was the Slayer, and one thing for sure, where the Slayer went, death would most certainly follow.

She sobbed uncontrollably. Crying for those she had lost, as well as for those whom she was certain to lose in the future.

"I can't do this anymore..." She said to herself. "...I just can't!"

"Yes, you can." Came a voice from behind her, catching her unawares. "You can, and you will." Faith said, reaching her hand out to the blonde.

Buffy looked up, seeing Faith standing tall...standing strong.

"Look, B....I'll be right here with you...always. We'll do it together."

"You don't know that, Faith! You don't! You could end up just like the rest of them...and I'll have nothing!"

Faith pulled Buffy into her arms, holding the shorter girl tightly as she kissed the crown of her head.

"I'm not going anywhere...I'm not like the rest of them. I will always be with you, B. Always."

Meanwhile, back at the house...

Giles, Xander, and Anya stood around the room, none of them saying anything, each just taking in the scene before them.

Xander was the first to break the silence.

"There's got to be something we should be doing." he said.

"What?" Anya said, not really paying attention to what he had said.

"We should be doing something! We can't just stand here with Mr. Kali-whatever-his-name-is out there waiting to rip us all into little bloody bits! We have to do something!"

"Do what? Kaliphicus is a demi-god, Xander!" Anya said, trying her best to sound annoyed...although what the former demon was really fealing was fear.

"No...Xander is right." Giles said, quietly.

"What??!!??" Both Xander and Anya said, suprised by the Watcher's comment. It was a rare thing, Giles admitting that the young man could be right.

"Yes...well...Xander is right. We should be doing something. With all of the magical energy that has been expended from this point in the last few days, Kaliphicus and his henchmen will undoubtedly find us here eventually."

"So, G-man...what's the plan?" Xander asked.

"I'm going to need your help." Giles said, looking toward the two.

"No problem, G-man...whatever you need, I'm your man!" Xander said, enthusiastically.

"Not you..." Giles said, looking towards Anya. "...I'll need Anya."

UPDATE - TIMELESS - CHAPTER 66

Postby FIRESIGN » Mon Nov 08, 2004 4:47 pm

CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX

“Her? Why her?!” Xander asked with a tone of jealousy in his voice.

Anya looked at Xander slack-jawed, obviously annoyed by her boyfriend’s reaction. Her hands were planted firmly on her lips as she responded with “Jealous?”

“Me? No...I just meant...” Xander said, stumblin over his words.

“Good Lord...will you both please shut up?!” Giles said, growing more irritated by the bickering duo.

Anya and Xander, shocked by the Watcher’s uncharacteristic assertiveness, stopped their verbal assault, stunned.

“That’s better...” Giles said, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. “...now...as I was saying...Anya, I’m going to need you to assist in a cloaking spell to prevent Kaliphicus and his cronies from using the residual magicks in the area to pinpoint our location.”

“A cloaking spell? Do you know how difficult cloaking spells are? Let alone one strong enough to cover up the magicks that have been used here in the last few days!”

“I’m well aware of how difficult this will be, Anyanka.” Giles said, dryly.

“I haven’t done one in over a hundred years! I can’t do this by myself!” She said, frantically.

“You won’t be casting alone...we’ll be casting together.”

“No offense, G-man...but you’re a Watcher...not a witch...or a wizard...or whatever it is that you people call a man-witch!” Xander said, pausing briefly before starting to chuckle at his own words. “Get it? Man-witch?” he said, laughing.

Anya and Giles looked at him, puzzled - neither of them getting the whole ‘man-witch’ gag.

“Actually, I have quite an extensive background in the craft...” Giles said, hesitantly.

It was obvious that this was not something that the Watcher was comfortable discussing.

“You mean you’ve been holding out on us??? You can do the whole ‘double-double-toil-and-trouble’ thing?” Xander said, referencing the line from one of the witches in Shakespeare’s MacBeth.

“Um...it’s not exactly something that I care to do anymore...but in this case, I will have to make an exception.” Giles said, reaching over on to the table, retrieving an aged leather-bound book. He leafed through the pages, stopping near the middle as he silently read through the page.

“I believe Willow most likely will have the components necessary here at the house. Anything else that we need, Xander can retrieve from the Magick Box.” He said, looking to the pair.

“Gee...at least I’m good for something...just call me Gopher-boy!” Xander said, feeling a bit left out being the only one without any special abilities.

Meanwhile...

Needless to say, Willow was surprised at Maggie’s ability to read her thoughts, as well as her telepathic powers. Although normally she would be very suspicious of this, she felt oddly calm and safe around the elder.

“Out t-there...you said we weren’t alone. How do you know...and who was out there?” asked Tara.

“I can’t be sure, child. I just felt it’s presence...” Maggie answered.

“What do you mean, Gran?” Logan asked.

“It was dark...malevolent. I can’t quite put my finger on it...but I’ve felt it’s kind before.”

“Not good...and we definitely need to delve into that a bit further...but first, I’d like to know just exactly who you are - and why you’re here.” Willow said, protectively moving towards Tara.

“Right you are...an explanation you want...an explanation you shall get!” Maggie said, sitting down before the hearth of the fireplace. “We’ve come to take you back to the future...”

CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN

“Right you are...an explanation you want...an explanation you shall get!” Maggie said, sitting down before the hearth of the fireplace. “We’ve come to take you back to the future.”

“What??? How do you...?” Willow began.

“How do I know about you and Tara...and you doing a bit of time traveling yourself?” Maggie said. “It’s a long story, my dear. You’d best have a seat so we can start from the beginning...”

Meanwhile...

Xander walked into the room, a box full of items in his arms. He sat the box down - removing the items one-by-one on the table in front of the Watcher and Anyanka.”

“Okay...let’s see here...” He said, grabbing the first item. “One small bag of sea-salt...four unburned candles...one vial of cat’s blood...eww! And last, but certainly not least...two big, juicy newt eyes just like Mom used to make!” He said, sarcastically.

Anya and Giles looked up briefly from their spellbook, giving him an annoyed look before going back to their studying.

“Geesh...I was just trying to lighten things up in here...my bad. Sorry.”

Just then, Buffy and Faith returned.

“Hey guys...what’s going on?” Buffy asked.

“Ladies, you are about to witness something you don’t see every day...” Xander said, sounding like a carnival sideshow announcer”...yes, it’s true! In this corner, the infuriatingly intelligent, stupendously scholarly Watcher Rupert Giles...and in this corner...the bodaciously beautiful, sensationally sexy yet invariably evil former vengeance demon, Anyanka!”

“Iam not evil, Xander Harris! I never was!” Anya said, defensively. “I simply dealt out the justice that wronged women so rightly deserved!”

“Please! Will you two just shut up!” Giles said, uncharacteristically. “I need Anya’s help to cast a cloaking spell to protect us all, as well as the portal.” He explained.

“Protect us? From what?” Faith asked.

“Kaliphicus.” Buffy said coldly. “You’re afraid he’s going to find us.”

“Well, eventually, he will. But I’d like to put his arrival off as long as possible. We’re going to need all of the help we can get.” Giles said.

“That’s encouraging!” Xander said, sarcastically.

Buffy looked to her Watcher with great concern. She knew about his history with the magicks...and what he was risking to cast a spell like this once again...

To Be Continued...
