My oh my do our girls have such...yummy imaginations.

Is it bad if I start shipping Bubba and Chosen? Because I kinda am.

"Okay, okay, I give," Willow wheezed out as she tried to catch her breath. The two were lost in each others eyes when they hea d a squeal come from the pool.

"B! Put me down!"

They looked over to see Buffy and Faith in the pool, with the blonde holding the brunette high above her head, ready to throw her back into the water.

"Buffy!" Willow scolded her and shook her head frantically at her friend.

"She's cheating again, Will!" Buffy whined as she unceremoniously dropped Faith.

"Wow," Tara said, completely astounded at the display.

Willow and Chosen were so sweet together :cry . Thank you for that it was a very beautiful moment.

With that being said, is there more to the dog than meets the eye? Will she have a part in dealing with whatever ugily-boogily tries to threaten our girls?
Please don't let the dog be a casualty of war!

The two couples are so different. Yet, sooooo perfectly suited for one another. Tara and Willow are shy :blush , sweet :flirt and horndogs :drool all rolled up together. Faith and Buffy are....well, EXPLOSIVE :whip .

Tara's Mom is onto Willow. She knows she is a powerful Witch and probably suspects that they are destined to be together....at least in my mind :grin .

Great update :applause !

Great update! I am looking forward to seeing how the first night with Chosen goes. I'm also interested in seeing Faith's reaction to learning that Buffy is the slayer.

sarahncrys1017 - Hi Sarah! I'm so glad you're enjoying. I'm glad you like my Buffy and Faith. They're pretty fun with their differences from canon. Buffy isn't a stuck up tight ass with no sense of fun, and Faith isn't a skanky, use 'em and lose 'em kind of girl.

Willow and Tara definitely have some good imaginations, and we may be seeing some more of that. Thanks for the feedback!

faolan228 - Hey there! Yes, they do have quite the imaginations, don't they? There will definitely be more yumminess later on.

By all means, ship Bubba and Chosen all you want. They're quite ship-worthy. Glad you're liking them.

If your boys are acting like Faith and Buffy, then you sure got your work cut out for you, but it's fun when they're like that too, right? Thanks for the feedback!

love_2003 - Hi there! Glad you're enjoying. I'm happy you like Tara and Faith as friends. They're basically still the same, but with the differences in their lives here as opposed to canon, they kind of balance each other out. Thanks for the feedback!

Grimm - Hi Grimmy! I'm glad you liked the Willow and Chosen meeting. It was a big moment for both of them. Don't worry about Chosen. I think she's going to be fine.

I'm glad you like the two couples. As I said above, my Buffy is not a "stuck up tight ass with no sense of fun", and Faith is a lot different too, but they definitely have a connection. They're so much fun this way IMHO.

Mary does sense something in Willow. More on that later, so stay tuned. Thanks for the feedback!

fhiwda - Hi there! Chosen arrives to Willow's in chapter 9. Tara teaches her an important lesson in dog ownership, so it should be interesting. They also have their little "dinner date". I'm getting excited for that myself. Thanks for the feedback!

CHAPTER 8

"What do you think of this one, Buff?" Willow asked her friend, who she had convinced to come shopping with her at the pet store.

"She's a girl, Willow. Blue is for boys."

"Well, not necessarily. And isn't this just the prettiest shade of blue? It's almost the same as..." She caught herself quickly. She had been obsessing over the color of Tara's eyes ever since she had seen them up close.

"Almost the same as...?" Buffy asked, eyebrows raised. She had a pretty good suspicion what her best friend was comparing the blue dog collar to, but was curious as to what her explanation would be.

"I just think it'll look pretty with her blonde coat," the redhead mumbled as she walked away, grabbing the matching leash and tossing them in the cart, which already contained dog food, bowls and numerous toys.

"You think this is enough?" Willow asked worriedly.

"Will, that's plenty. She's going to be the most spoiled dog in Sunnydale."

"Not spoiled..." Willow said defensively, "just very loved."

"Nothing wrong with that, Will. She deserves it."

"Yes, she definitely does."

"Oh, be right back," Buffy yelled as she took off down another aisle. When she returned, she was grinning madly and hiding something behind her back.

"Whatcha got there?"

"Well, I wanted to give you a 'dog warming' present. Close your eyes and hold out your hands."

The redhead eyed her warily. "Ookay. If you say so." Willow felt something long and hard placed in her outstretched palms.

"Okay, open your eyes," Buffy said excitedly.

"Oh, Buffy! Thank you. Just what I always wanted!"

"You're welcome, but remember... just because I bought it, doesn't mean I do doo-doo duty," she said smiling as she snatched it back and headed toward the cash registers with the Super Duper Pooper Scooper slung over her shoulder.

"Wow, Xander...this is amazing," Willow said as she looked over her brand new enclosed back porch. "So much nicer than I could've ever imagined."

Xander puffed out his chest. There were only a few things that he was proud of, but his quality of work was one of them. "Thanks. My pleasure, Will. I wanted it to be special for you."

"But...but...all this..."

"Hey, you give Buffy the funds to shop, and you won't be disappointed."

"The porch is perfect...but the tiki bar with the mini frig, the lights, the new grill...and the furniture is great," she said as she flopped down in the huge padded chaise lounge and looked up. "Oh my God, is that a flat screen TV?!"

"Yep," Buffy said proudly as she stepped out the sliding door and out to the new area, "complete with a built-in DVD player."

Willow squealed as she jumped up and hugged both of her friends.

"You guys are the best! This is so great," she said as she walked to the other end of the porch and checked out the large grassy area. "I hope she likes this."

"She's gonna love it, Will. And you can sit out here with her at night and have no worries. I got the sturdiest doors, windows, and best locks available, so it's secure all around. You just might need to trim it with the WeedEater every couple of weeks."

"I can't thank you guys enough."

"Now all you need is a hot tub," Buffy teased.

"Oh, you're right. That felt sooo good."

"I'll bet it did," Buffy teased as Xander's eyes took on a glassy look.

"Maybe someday," the redhead said, "but this is perfect for now."

"So when are they gettin' here?" Xander asked as he pulled three sodas out of the frig and passed them around.

Willow sat at the bar grinning from ear to ear as she spun around on one of the new stools. "Saturday afternoon. Tara said between 2 and 3. I'm sorry Faith has to work, Buff."

Buffy had talked to Faith earlier in the week and found out that the EMT would be starting a 24-hour shift Saturday morning.

"Yeah, me too, but..." she said, smiling uncontrollably, "she just called me back this morning, and guess what."

"Oh boy, this must be good. I know that smile."

"She invited me to go to a fundraiser with her next weekend!"

"That's great!" Willow said, clapping her hands, truly happy for her best friend.

"And she said that anyone that wants to come is welcome."

"What kind of fundraiser?" Xander asked, leaning back on the bar and taking a sip of Coke. He had already been filled in on the Buffy/Faith thing earlier in the week and was totally supportive of anyone that could make Buffy smile the way she did when she talked about the woman.

"It's for shelter animals. People are supposed to donate a bag of dog or cat food, and they sell raffle tickets for prizes...that type of stuff."

"Wow, that's great. She really is devoted to this," Xander said, amazed.

"That's putting it mildly. Did you see her tattoo, Will?"

"No, I don't remember seeing one, but I may have been distracted with other things," the redhead smirked.

"It went all the way around her wrist, and said, 'Rescue Them All Or Die Trying'. It was cool."

"Wow, I thought that was a bracelet."

"Nope, and it's soo pretty," Buffy sighed. "Oh, and get this -- the fundraiser is at an old elementary school that's supposedly haunted."

"You're kidding, right?" the redhead asked with eyebrows raised.

"Nope."

"Well, that ought to be...interesting."

____________________________

During the week, Willow had received emailed updates on Chosen and even some pictures. Her favorite was one of Tara giving her new dog a bath that Faith had snuck in and taken just as the dog decided to shake the water off, soaking the blonde completely. Willow thought it was adorable of both of them. She had mailed the adoption fee, plus a hefty donation earlier in the week inside of a thank you card, again expressing her gratitude to the rescue for the work it does.

____________________________

Tara got to her mom's bright and early Saturday morning to make sure all the details were taken care of, Chosen's healthcare history updated and everything placed in her folder. She helped her mom feed and water the dogs and cleaned out the kennels. She gave Chosen a good brushing and put a clean blanket in the dog crate she was using for the day.

"Ready for a coffee break, dear?" Mary asked Tara as she was finishing up. Tara checked her watch to make sure she would still have time to go home and shower before heading to Sunnydale.

"That sounds great, Mama. I have some time to spare."

Mary carefully sat two cups of coffee down on the cockeyed kitchen table, joining her daughter.

"You know, I can fix this thing for you if you want. It wouldn't take much," Tara said as she glanced underneath the table. "Huh, that's weird. The bad leg has some writing on it. I think it says, 'Case of merg...brick a...log'? No, that can't be right. It's hard to read upside down."

"That is odd. This table is very old, so it's hard telling what else is down there. Don't worry about it, sweetie. I'll look at it later. So, are you excited about today?" Mary asked nonchalantly.

"It's always great delivering a dog to its new family," Tara tried to answer noncommittally.

"Uh huh," the older woman said in that annoyingly knowing way parents do.

Tara blushed and looked away as she took a long sip of her coffee.

"Tara...honey, look at me," Mary asked gently as she laid a hand on her daughter's. Finally their blue eyes met and Mary gave her a knowing smile.

"Okay, yes, I like her...very much," Tara admitted shyly.

Mary just smiled and patted her hand. "I like her too honey. There's a wonderful energy about her. I think she'd be good for you."

"Mama..." Tara almost whined, "we just met. It's too early to tell..."

"Uh huh."

There it was again.

"Fine, we'll see," Tara smirked at her teasing mother. "She's making me dinner tonight. I'll be back to get Chosen after I clean up," Tara said quickly as she hurried out the door.

"Dinner?!" Mary yelled to her hastily retreating daughter. She followed her out the door to give her some last words of motherly advice.

"Don't forget to shave your legs!"

The door slammed, startling the single occupant. "Oh, hello, dear. What in the heavens are you doing here? I thought you would've left already."

"I actually had a busy night for a change, so I need to re-stock."

"Well, that's worrisome. Can't have anything happen now."

"Exactly. That's why I want to take plenty. It was just a few more than usual, but I like to be prepared. I swear it's just like shooting fish in a barrel sometimes. At least it keeps me from getting rusty."

"You'll never get rusty. Now you best be on your way. She'll be there soon."

"Don't worry. By the time she arrives, I'll be there waiting."

I love a useful Xander. I'm glad Chosen's new digs out on the porch are Willow and Tara friendly. It's practically a man-cave...lol

Wimpy, Wimpy, WIMPY :gnome ....why the ominous ending?

I'm hoping it's just Buffy talking to Joyce. If not, I sense all kinds of badness :aww .

sarahncrys1017: Hey there! Congrats on the dibs. Mysterious? Maybe, but my lips are sealed on details for now. More will be revealed later on.

Nothing wrong with a little dog spoilage. LOL Thanks so much for the feedback!

Grimm: Hey Grimmy! I'm glad you like this Xander. He is helpful and slightly more mature. The porch is cool, and a handy area for them to hang out and for Chosen to potty safely at night.

My dear, Grimmy, I didn't mean to worry you. All will be explained eventually, so just hang in there. Chosen is coming home. I hope you enjoy. As always, thanks for the feedback!

CHAPTER 9: WELCOME HOME

Willow was happy. Willow was excited. Willow...was totally freaking. Buffy had her job cut out for her.

"Will, calm down," Buffy said for the hundredth time that day as she chased after the pacing redhead. "The chicken is in the oven and smells delicious, the house is spotless, and you look amazing. It'll be fine. Just relax," she tried to say soothingly.

"But, Tara's coming...to my house...for dinner. Oh God!"

"Yes, yes, okay. But who else is coming?"

The redhead stopped, took a deep breath and smiled. "Chosen," Willow whispered as her smile grew even larger.

"Yes, and let that be your focus. Concentrate on Chosen and how good it'll be to have her here, and let everything else come naturally. There's no pressure."

"Whew, okay," Willow said, taking a deep breath, "okay, I'm better, and it's just a simple, friendly dinner."

Just then they heard a car door slam outside. Willow's eyebrows shot up and she felt a comforting hand on her arm. She closed her eyes, took another deep breath and blew it out. "Okay, I'm ready."

___________________________

"Relax, T. It'll be fine," Faith spoke into her cell phone from the station.

"Relax?! I'm going to have dinner with her...at her house...alone!"

"It's just dinner, Tara," the brunette said soothingly. "You've eaten a meal with her before."

"Yes, but you and Buffy were there. It's totally different. This is a...a date." Tara had pulled into a gas station to get gas and check on Chosen and needed to hear her best friend's voice.

"You've been on dates before. What's the big deal?"

"THREE, Faith! I've been on three dates, and they all went horribly. I hate dates. I never know what to say, and it's just all...uncomfortable."

"Are you uncomfortable with Willow?" Faith asked even though she already knew the answer.

"What? Well...no, I'm not," Tara admitted once she thought about it. "I'm just nervous I guess."

"Well, don't be. It's gonna be fine. Besides, why are you going there in the first place?"

Tara smiled and turned to look out the window at the crate in the back. "To give Chosen to a great home."

"Exactly. And you and I both know we wouldn't give that dog to just anybody. Red's kinda special, T...and I think you know that."

"I do...that's why I'm so nervous," she whispered.

"Just think about Chosen, get her settled in and go from there. It'll be fine. Trust me."

Tara sighed and blew out a long, calming breath. "Okay, I'm ready."

"Good girl. Now go have fun and call me when you get home. Oh, and if you see B, tell her I said hi."

"I will, and thanks, Faith."

____________________________

"You gonna answer the door or do you want me to get it?" Buffy asked Willow, who had yet to move towards the sound of the doorbell.

"No, I'll get it," Willow said as her feet finally started moving. With her hand on the knob, she took a second to put on her most welcoming smile as she opened the door.

"About damn time," Xander said as he rushed past her into the house, "this thing was starting to get heavy."

"Xander, what...?"

"Well, not to be outdone by a certain blonde superhero, I come bearing my own 'dog warming' present for Ms. Chosen," he stated proudly. Buffy rolled her eyes and headed to the kitchen in search of snacks.

The startled redhead finally saw the present, completely assembled, topped off with a big blue bow.

"Really?" The big green eyes and smile that lit up her face let him know that he made a good choice.

"Yep -- top of the line, luxury model dog crate for the newest member of our family."

"Oh, Xander, thank you!" Willow said as she flung her arms around her oldest friend. "That's so sweet."

Both heads turned as they heard a timid knock on the open front door.

"Tara!" Willow nearly shouted as she released her hold on Xander and gave the blonde a genuine smile. "You're here!" she said as she practically ran to the door.

Not sure what she had just witnessed, Tara looked around nervously. "Um...is this not a good time?"

"What? No. Perfect timing. Look what Xander just brought for Chosen," Willow said excitedly as she took Tara by the hand, led her into the house and showed her the crate. "My awesome friends both got her 'dog warming' presents. Isn't that sweet?" Willow was beaming at the blonde, caught up in the moment, still squeezing the hand that she held.

"Hi. I'm Xander," the carpenter said as he extended his hand to the newcomer. "You'll have to excuse Will's temporary bout of rudeness. She's a little overly excited today."

Tara gently extracted her hand from Willow, gave him a shy smile and shook the hand he offered. "Nice to meet you."

"Sorry, sorry," the redhead blushed and smacked him playfully on the arm. "This is Tara. Tara, this is my oldest, dearest friend, Xander."

"Hey, what am I, chopped liver?" Buffy asked as she rounded the corner from the kitchen, licking whipped cream off her finger.

"And you already know Buffy."

"Hi," Tara said as she gave the Slayer a little wave.

"Good to see you again, Tara."

"You too," Tara nodded at Buffy then turned her attention back to Willow, feeling a little more comfortable. "So, are you ready for her?"

"Oh, yes. I can't wait!"

The three friends followed Tara out to her truck. She lowered the tailgate and hopped up in the bed. She squatted down and spoke quietly to the dog before opening the door and attaching a leash.

Willow watched anxiously as her new dog slowly emerged, then stopped to take in her new surroundings. She looked even better than a week ago, and Willow felt tears once again trickling down her cheeks. Chosen's eyes met her teary ones, and once again her tail started that thump-thump-thump as it hit the crate behind her.

Willow held her arms out and Chosen quickly moved into them. The redhead buried her face into the blonde hair and hugged her as she cried. Buffy and Xander rubbed their friend's back as she finally got her tears under control. "Welcome home, Chosen," Willow whispered as she kissed her on the head.

Tara had slipped silently from the truck bed, giving the friends and the dog a moment of privacy. "Would you like me to lift her down?" Tara asked quietly from behind Willow, who smiled and nodded.

"Thank you."

"It's my pleasure," Tara said as she gently lowered the once severely mistreated dog down to the ground of her new home, and handed the leash to Willow. "She probably could use some water, and might need to use the bathroom."

The redhead looked up from petting the dog into those mesmerizing blue eyes that were smiling down at her, and her breath caught at the true beauty she saw. She turned her head, closed her eyes and took a deep breath trying to gain control of all the emotions running through her.

"Um...oh, of course. I'll take her out back."

Willow and Xander headed toward the backyard with Chosen while Buffy hung back to wait on Tara as she closed up the truck.

"This means more to her than you know," Buffy whispered to Tara as they watched Willow go. "There's a long story there, but that's up to her to share. Maybe she'll tell you someday. I just wanted to say thank you for making my friend so happy." Tara just nodded and smiled at the sincerity of Buffy's words. The two women made their way around the house to the backyard, coming upon a scene that was one of the most comical either of them had ever witnessed.

Willow and Xander each had a clothespin firmly affixed to their noses and were wearing long yellow dishwashing gloves. Xander was attempting to hold open a plastic bag for his friend but was obviously failing in his duties. The frustration was becoming evident in the redhead's voice, which was quite nasal thanks to the clothespin.

"Xander! Just. Hold. It. Open!"

"I'm trying, but I do not want that stuff anywhere near my hands."

"For crying out loud! You're wearing gloves!" Willow yelled, beginning to gesticulate wildly with the pooper scooper, which was a very, very bad idea as the contents were threatening to go flying everywhere. Xander dropped the bag and ran for the house covering his head screaming like a little girl.

Tara glanced over at Chosen, who was lying contentedly in the shade of a tree, her head cocked to the side watching her new mom and wagging her tail.

Buffy was laughing hysterically at her friends, but still had the presence of mind to reach in her pocket for her phone and snap several priceless pictures.

Tara decided to step in, although she was watching where she stepped very carefully. She held both hands up and calmly addressed the redhead. "Willow..." she said gently, causing the redhead to turn and notice her for the first time.

"Oh shit," she said, still nasally, with her eyes as big as saucers.

"Yes...it is," the blonde chuckled at the look on Willow's face. "Stay right there and don't move."

"O...o-okay."

"Do you have a bucket? Any kind will do."

"Um...garage," the embarrassed woman said, pointing with the overflowing pooper scooper.

Tara nodded and headed to the garage, passing Buffy, who was laughing so hard she was bent over holding her stomach, but still managing to snap pictures. Tara returned shortly with the bucket and another plastic bag she had found close to it. She smiled as she got to the redhead, whose face was as red as a beet.

"Lesson #1," she said as she placed the bucket on the ground, "bag goes in bucket, another bag inside of that," explaining as she placed the bag Xander dropped inside the first. "Fold the top of the bags over the edge of the bucket." She pointed at Willow's hands holding the pooper scooper. "Hold scoop over bags in bucket and deposit offending contents inside. Tie bags closed. No fuss, no muss." She waited until Willow did as instructed, then tied the bags securely inside the bucket and carried it back over by the garage.

Willow looked up slowly from the ground she had been staring at when she saw a pair of boots enter her line of vision. Twinkling blue eyes were looking back at her.

"Welcome to the wonderful world of dog ownership," Tara said with a smile as she reached up and gently removed the clothespin from the cute, freckled nose. She wanted to kiss that nose so bad right then, she couldn't stand it. Instead she took a half step back, still smiling at the adorable woman, and held out her hands.

"Is there someplace I can wash up?"

Willow gulped and tried to get her brain and mouth to start functioning together again. "Uh...um..."

"Come on, Tara. I'll show you where it is," Buffy stepped in to rescue her friend, and led Tara inside the house. After a few deep breaths, Willow removed her gloves and looked over at the new family member, who was rolling happily in the grass. She walked over, sat on the grass, gave the dog a kiss on the head and smiled. "So worth it."

Hidden high, well out of view, a lone figure leaned back against the trunk of the tree and smiled as they settled in to keep their usual vigilant watch.

"Hey, Will, you comin' in?" Xander yelled from the new back porch.

"Be right there," she answered as she picked up Chosen's leash. "Come on, girl. Let's go see your new home."

Willow entered the house with Chosen trotting along right beside her. She took her to show her the new dog bed she bought, and the crate Xander brought, then explained to the dog that she could sleep anywhere she darn well pleased. Chosen decided the dog bed was good for now, so Willow went to wash up. When she got back to the kitchen, her two friends were there, but no Tara.

"Where'd she go? Did I scare her off already?" she asked her friends nervously.

"Not at all, cute buddy. She said she just had to run out to her truck for something," Xander explained, hugging her, "but I gotta go. I just wanted to meet your new girls," he said waggling his eyebrows, "and I highly approve of both."

"Xander!" she scolded, swatting his arm as he went out the door. "Thanks again for everything."

"Love ya, Will."

"Love you too."

She held the door open as Tara was walking up the steps at the same time. With all the hub-bub out of the way, she finally took in the appearance of the blonde -- nice, new-looking boots, snug jeans and a periwinkle polo shirt with the Rainbow Rescue logo on the left chest. Simple, but damn, she sure wore them well. The highlights in her hair sparkled in the afternoon sun and Willow stared dumbfounded for a few seconds as the blonde entered then bent over.

"Hi, again," Willow said dreamily as Tara straightened and gave her a shy smile. "Come on in the kitchen. Would you like something to drink?"

"That sounds great, thanks."

They entered the kitchen to find the slayer lying on the floor beside Chosen, showing the dog all of the pictures she had just taken, still laughing. "Isn't your mommy silly?"

"Don't mind her," Willow nodded towards her friend, "she's had one too many knocks to the head," earning a "Hey!" in protest from the Slayer still sprawled on the floor.

Tara laughed and went over to pet Chosen. "You look awfully happy there, girl. Yes, you do. I think you're gonna be just fine," she whispered to the dog and could've sworn she smiled back at her.

"Is tea okay?"

"Yes, please," Tara said as she took a seat at the large kitchen island.

"Buffy, you want some?"

"None for me, thanks. I'm gonna head over to mom's for a while before I go pa...straight home and go to bed."

"Oh...are you sure?" Willow asked, her nervousness from earlier returning at the thought of being alone with Tara.

"Absolutely," Buffy said as she stood to leave. "It was good seeing you, Tara."

"You too, Buffy. Oh, Faith says hi."

"Oh, she does? Well, tell her I said hi back," the Slayer said happily as she nearly skipped out of the kitchen to the front door.

"I'll be right back," Willow explained to Tara as she followed Buffy out.

"Buff...?"

"You're gonna be fine, Will...really. She adores you."

"How do you know?" Willow's insecurities were rearing their ugly head.

"By the way she smiles at you...like this." Buffy produced her phone, showing her the images of her and Tara as she took the clothespin off her nose. "See what I mean?"

"Oh...wow," the redhead's heart sped up at the picture of the two of them together.

"See them sparks flyin' all over the place?" Buffy teased. "Now get back in there to your girl. And don't forget -- if she stays after dark, text me and I'll swing by real quick...or, you know...she can always spend the night," the Slayer whispered in her ear as she hugged her goodbye.

"Go away, Buffy," Willow said, shooing the Slayer away, as she turned a light shade of pink. "Thanks again, and be safe."

"You too. Call me later. I want details." Before Buffy pocketed her phone, she glanced back down at the picture. <Well...huh>

Willow entered the kitchen to find Tara sitting on the floor gently petting Chosen as she lay sleeping. The sight made her heart flutter.

"Hey," she said quietly as she leaned against the door frame. Tara smiled sweetly at her as she stood up and brushed off her jeans.

"Hey."

"Are you hungry? Dinner's about ready," Willow asked as she opened the oven door and leaned over to check the chicken.

"Yes, I'm...starving," Tara said a little too breathily as she was once again presented with the sight of that cute little butt sticking up in the air.

****************************************

She walked swiftly over behind the redhead, grabbed her by the hips and pulled her back hard into her pelvis. The redhead melted back into her body, resting her head on the strong shoulder, opening herself up.

She moaned as soft kisses fluttered down the side of her neck and confident hands worked their way under her shirt and smoothly up her stomach claiming the small, firm breasts. Willow gasped and reached back, clutching the hip tighter to her as the blonde began grinding into her ass.

"What is it you want, Tara?" she whispered. "Just tell me...and it's yours."

*****************************************

"Huh?" <Oh crap. Willow was talking. What did she say?>

"I asked what kind of salad dressing you want."

Tara's mind was still having trouble focusing. "Uh...creamy...do you have creamy... Italian?" <to match my panties>

"Sure," Willow said as she leaned inside the fridge. "Creamy Italian coming right up. Where would you like to eat?"

"Huh?" the blonde asked again dumbly as she licked her lips. <Oh God that ass...and please don't say 'eat' again>

"We can eat in the dining room or eat in the living room. We can even eat out on the new porch."

<Oh My God>

"There's a table and chairs out there we can eat on, and even a big chaise lounge you can throw me down on and have me for dessert."

"What?!"

"I said, I made dessert. Do you like cream pie?"

"Uh...I need to wash up," Tara said hastily. "I'll be right back."

Willow tilted her head and watched as Tara hurried down the hall. <Damn, that girl sure can rock a pair of jeans>

Tara quickly shut and locked the bathroom door and leaned on the sink looking at herself in the mirror. "Get a grip, girl. What is wrong with you?" She splashed cold water on her face and washed her hands. After drying off, she looked back in the mirror and gave herself a stern talking to. "You can do this! Check your hormones at the door and have a nice, casual dinner with this girl you are seriously lusting after. Got that? Okay."

"I just thought we'd do it on the dining room table if that's okay with you," Willow said as Tara walked back in the kitchen.

"Uh, that's fine." Tara gulped. "I'll do it anywhere you want." <Oh hell>

Willow looked over her shoulder at the blonde as she blushed and followed her to the dining room. They took seats at the table opposite one another and Tara still hadn't looked back up at her. Tara made sure to carefully choose her words the next time she spoke, still looking down.

"This is really delicious, Willow."

"Thank you. It isn't much -- one of the few things I can make that's actually edible."

Willow noticed the signs of nervousness all too well and decided to help the blonde out, starting easy with some small talk.

"How was your trip down?"

<ohhh...edible...down...STOP IT AND GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!>

Tara swallowed and took a long drink of water. "It was good."

"Did she do okay in the back of your truck?"

Finally getting back to a subject that steered her brain away from naughty-ville, Tara relaxed and took a breath. "She did great. I stopped once to check on her and get gas and she was sleeping like a baby."

"That's great. So she'll probably do okay going for rides in my car?"

"I assume so. She's still a little timid, so I'd suggest maybe not overdoing it with her at first. Slowly get her used to new things, small...crowds..." Tara trailed off as she felt a shy foot giving her own a gentle nudge. She looked up through her eyelashes at the smiling redhead and couldn't help but smile back.

"When did you take your boots off?" Willow asked playfully as she nudged Tara's sock-covered foot again.

The blonde cocked an eyebrow and nudged her back. "After I came back from the truck. I brought in Chosen's paperwork for you. It's on the kitchen counter."

"Oh...thank you," Willow could feel the blush rise as she remembered what she was looking at when she let Tara back in the front door and she bent over. "So, are there any other helpful instructions besides the correct way to clean up my yard?"

"Not really. There's a booklet in the folder on basic stuff. But you can call me if you have any questions at all."

"I can?" Willow asked coyly, and Tara nodded.

"Of course you can."

"What if I don't have any questions?" Willow asked as she stood and picked up the plates to take to the kitchen. She playfully swatted Tara's hands away as she tried to help her. Tara followed her into the kitchen and leaned against the counter as she watched her place the dishes in the sink and waited until she turned back around.

"You can still call," she said smiling shyly.

This was the dance...the one they both usually hated with a fiery passion...but not this time.

Willow moved slowly closing the gap, just as Chosen came over, sat down, looked up at her and whined. The girls both laughed nervously.

"You need to go outside, girl?" Willow asked her as she ruffled the blonde hair on her head. She looked back up at Tara and gently took her hand. "I guess we're moving this party outside for a bit." Willow grabbed a bag sitting beside the door before opening it and watched as Chosen moved faster than she'd ever seen her move before.

"Wow, I guess she really had to go," Willow laughed as she led them over to the chairs. They sat outside on the original concrete patio, still holding hands until Willow had to let go to open the bag. "Just some stuff I got her. I wasn't sure what she liked to play with, so..."

Tara sat wide-eyed, watching as she pulled out toy after toy for her new dog. Chosen was going to love it here.

"And last but not least..." she said as she turned to grin at the blonde, producing her new collar and leash.

"Very pretty," Tara nodded, looking into sparkling green eyes and knew her words meant so much more.

Willow finally broke the eye contact and called Chosen over. Tara helped her remove the old collar and then rubbed the dog's ears while Willow attached the new one. The redhead sat on the ground and showed the dog her new toys -- balls, squeaky toys of all kinds and chew toys.

"Which do you want, huh?" She held up the tennis ball and saw the dog's eyes light up. "Okay, then, here you go," she said as she rolled the ball just a few feet away at first. Chosen immediately retrieved it and came back to her, dropping the ball, ready to go again. They kept that up for a while, laughing at how a simple ball made the dog so happy. Finally, Chosen took a break for a drink of water then came and laid beside Willow, putting her head in her lap. Willow looked over at Tara and they shared a shy smile.

"Hey, would you like that dessert now? I could make some coffee if you want."

Tara glanced at her watch and saw that she still had plenty of time before dusk. "That sounds great."

The girls decided to eat on the new porch and relax with what time was left of their day.

"I can't believe he built this in just a few days. He did a really nice job."

"Yeah, he did, and Buffy helped with the decorating. She wanted to give it that light, island-type feel. I love it. Now when Chosen needs to go potty at night, I can sit over here while she goes down there and does her business."

Tara thought this was a little curious, that perhaps Willow knew about the evil that lurked in Sunnydale. "Yes...it's probably best not to let her wander around in the yard at night." She really didn't want anything to happen to this dog, especially after everything she'd already been through.

Willow couldn't help notice how her guest kept checking her watch and glancing outside, and thought maybe she was getting bored with her or just needed to go home.

"Um, Tara...do you have to work tomorrow?"

Tara found herself lost in thought. Just how do you go about asking someone if they know about vampires and demons without them thinking you're totally off your rocker.

"What? Oh, no. I don't go back until Monday morning. We alternate shifts, so I'll be back on days for a week."

"Well, that's good. Would you maybe want to...watch a movie or something?" she asked hopefully, but again noticed the blonde check her watch and look out at the fading daylight.

"You know, I would really like that," Tara said sincerely as she reached over and took the smaller hand in hers, "but I should probably be heading home."

"Oh, okay," Willow said, trying but failing to hide her disappointment. Tara squeezed her hand gently causing her to look up.

"I'll take a raincheck though," Tara smiled, curling that top lip up so sensually that Willow suddenly felt warm all over.

"Really?"

"Absolutely. But unfortunately, I need to go," she said as she stood up and walked into the kitchen. "I had a really nice time, Willow."

"Me too. Thanks for coming and for bringing her." They both looked over at the blonde dog, who was once again sleeping peacefully on her new dog bed.

"My pleasure...really."

Tara walked over to the sleeping dog, squatted down and gave her a tender kiss on the head. "You're a lucky girl, Chosen," she whispered to the dog, who cracked one eye open, then closed it in a wink and quickly fell back asleep. Tara sighed and stood up.

"I promise to take good care of her," Willow said as she stood watching the exchange from the doorway.

"I know you will."

"Plus, I'm working from home all week, so we'll have plenty of time for girl/girl bonding."

Tara smirked as she walked by her in search of her boots. "My favorite kind."

Willow's jaw dropped as she turned to watch the blonde bend over to pull on her boots. <Damn, she's sexy>

Willow cleared her throat as she moved to open the door for her guest. "I'll walk you out." She noted the quickly darkening sky as she slipped on her shoes and grabbed her jacket, where she always had a trusty stake hidden away.

Tara leaned with her back against her truck door as the redhead slowly stepped toward her. She was in a race with dusk and she knew it. She didn't want to leave Willow, but she had no choice. What she really wanted to do was turn her around, press her against her truck and kiss her senseless.

She was looking down, battling with her hormones again, when she saw a pair of sneakers slip between her boots and felt two small hands on her hips. She looked up shyly as Willow moved in closer between her legs.

"I know you have to go," Willow whispered, "but raincheck...soon?"

Tara's heart pounded in her chest as she brought her hands around the tiny waist and pulled her closer. She nodded mutely as she leaned forward and closed the remaining distance. She closed her eyes and felt feather soft lips pressed lightly against her own, and a fiery tingle shot quickly throughout her body. She felt the heat from the other woman pull away from her much too soon and opened her eyes to see those warm lips smiling back at her impishly.

"I'll call you," Willow said as she reluctantly pulled herself away from the soft, warm body.

Tara nodded again, then finally found her voice. "I'll be looking forward to it. Goodnight, Willow."

"Goodnight, Tara. Have a safe trip."

Willow stepped back and watched as the blonde seemed to shakily open the truck door and climb in. After closing the door and putting on her seatbelt, she started the truck and put it in reverse. Before backing away, she took one more glance up at Willow standing on her front porch giving her a cute little wave. She couldn't keep the huge smile off her face as she waved back, then slowly backed down the driveway.

As Willow watched the purple truck fade into the distance, she let out a huge sigh and sagged back against her house.

"You can come out now."

There was a soft rustling from the bushes along the side of the house, then a blonde head slowly emerged.

"I wasn't watching, I swear!" Buffy asserted, making her way up to the door.

"Liar," Willow said with a silly grin on her face.

"Well, not all of it. I closed my eyes there at the end."

"Shut up and help me inside before I fall down."

Buffy looked at her with wide eyes. "Why?"

"Because my legs feel like jello, and I think they forgot how to work."

The little blonde looked at her in shock and took her by the arm, leading her inside to the sofa.

"No way. That was like...a...a 2-second kiss!"

"Way...oh...WAY," Willow gushed, flopping back against the cushions. "And I thought you said you weren't watching?"

"Well...well," the Slayer sputtered, "someone had to have their eyes open to watch for vamps!"

"And I appreciate it, Buffy."

"I was going to ask how it went, but I don't think I need to," she smirked at her dazed friend.

"It was...nice," the redhead admitted, still smiling goofily.

"Nice, huh? Looked like more than nice to me."

"The nicest kind of nice," she explained. "I think she was even more nervous than I was, and even though we were both crazy with the nerves, it was just so...warm and...sweet."

"You make her sound like one of those big gooey cinnamon rolls."

Willow bit the inside of her lip as she thought of Tara's warm, sweet places.

"And that was our first kiss," Willow sighed again.

"First? You mean you didn't...all that time alone in the house?"

Willow shook her head slowly, still smiling. "No. But I just couldn't let her leave without feeling her lips against mine. And Oh My God, Buff...I feel like I stuck my finger in a light socket! In a good way," she clarified.

"So I take it it was good?" Buffy teased. "Well, I'm glad. I've never seen you so happy."

Willow leaned up off the back of the couch and looked her square in the eyes. "I am. So...when are you going to get with the smoochies?" Willow wiggled her eyebrows, teasing her best friend.

"Oh, God. I don't know. We're supposed to do that haunted school thing next weekend, but that's not exactly date material, ya know? Not very conducive to smoochies," Buffy pouted.

"You never know, Buff. You never know."

Dibs :banana !

I loved the first date. It was funny, sweet, seXXXy and perfect :bigkiss . The falling in love stories are the ABSOLUTE best.

Doggie-doody is horrific. So, I feel Willow and Xander's pain :laugh .

I can't wait until the cat is outta the bag re: Sunnydale. We can't have this secrecy affecting :wtkiss just because it's getting dark.

Here comes my chronic paranoia: Please tell me that was a friend of the Scoobies like Spike lurking in the tree :pray ?

Thanks for the early update. Be safe, Wimpy....thoughts and prayers.

Awesome update and first date. Buffy and Xander are pretty cool friends. I'm glad that Willow has Chosen now even if she clearly has no idea how to care for things like poop! Another trick - stick your hand in one grocery sack and use it to pick up the poop, then turn the bag inside out and tie it up.

The date is quite lovely with the obvious sparky/witchy energy and power between the girls. Too bad they aren't talking about the vampires and hellmouth or Willow could say "oh... no hurry. Buffy is the Slayer she can walk you to the car." "Oh, then I'll stay and we can make out for a while..."

Grimm: Hi Grimmy! Congrats on the dibs. I'm really glad you enjoyed their date. We get to see how much Tara enjoyed it very soon.

They're working their way toward darkness in Sunnydale no longer being a factor. Not yet, but they'll get there.

Oh, Grimmy, you and your paranoia. lol All I can say is that the tree lurker is not a foe.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers because they must've worked. We got high winds, rain and snow, but luckily no power outages. My heart goes out to those that weren't so lucky. Thanks so much for the feedback!

JustSkipIt: Thanks Deb, I'm really glad you liked it. First dates can be kind of scary, but I think it worked out okay. It is Willow and Tara after all, and they definitely have some sparkage.

And yes, I totally agree with the inside-out bag trick for the doo doo. We use that when we go to the dog park. We use the bucket at home. It comes in handy when you have multiple dogs and tons of poo. I'm sure Willow still has much to learn about about dog care, but luckily she has a gorgeous dog pro she can call.

The Hellmouth talk will be coming up soon, thanks to a nudge from Tara's mom. Perhaps that will lead to more making out, but I'll never tell. lol Thanks for the feedback!

CHAPTER 10

Tara made it home in record time. At least it seemed that way as she was in a haze for most of the drive. All because of a kiss...one little kiss...that totally blew her mind. She had promised to call Faith at work as soon as she got home, but she had something much more important to do first -- shower. Good God, did she ever need a shower. A long...cold...shower. Her body had been on fire ever since their lips touched.

She ran up the stairs, shedding clothes as she went. She grabbed her nightshirt from her dresser and went straight to the bathroom. She started the shower and finished undressing as quickly as she could. She had her panties slid half-way down her thighs, then stopped as her eyes grew wide. "Oh My God! What...?" She picked up her jeans and checked the crotch. "Oh shit! I'm gonna have to clean the truck!"

To say Tara was wet was an understatement. No, strike that -- make that the understatement of the century. She knew she'd been turned on by Willow all day, not to mention her fantasies, but that kiss had turned her into a geyser -- yep, Old Faithful had definitely erupted in her panties.

She rubbed a hand across her forehead and moaned. "All this...just from a kiss. Imagine if we...when we..." She moaned again and finished peeling her soaked panties off very carefully.

"Nope, that's not it...still not it!" She was grumbling to herself as she adjusted the water faucets, trying to get it cold enough without freezing her to death. "That'll just have to fucking do." She was very frustrated and really didn't feel like messing with it anymore, so she stepped into the nearly freezing water. She leaned her head back and let the water cascade over her head and down her body. If she was trying to cool down her raging hormones, it wasn't working. The cold water had immediately turned her nipples into hard, pulsating peaks protruding proudly from their own firm, full mountains.

"Ohhh..." She couldn't stop moaning, but she was home alone, so why even bother trying. She managed to get her hair washed, barely, before her hands started to wander.

"Ohhhh God!"

She leaned against the tiled walls, fingers gliding over slippery nipples, teasing them into even harder peaks than they already were. That alone was causing her hips to jerk uncontrollably. The other hand slid through her sopping folds and her knees almost buckled. She remembered the feel of Willow's lips on hers, satiny soft...as she lightly stroked herself back and forth. That cute ass...back and forth. Eating...on the table...anywhere...back and forth, rubbing her stiff clit. Cream pie...sooo edible...back and forth...round and round...harder...faster, as she pinched and pulled her rock-hard nipples.

"Ohhhh...yesss.........AAHHHH!!!" she screamed as she released over and over like never before. She crumbled to the floor of the shower in a breathless, boneless heap as the water rained down around her.

"Ohhh, Willow."

________________________________

Tara finally managed to finish her shower, get dried off...for the most part...and dressed. She carefully grabbed her panties and jeans to take to the washer and headed toward the stairs. Her foot froze on the top step when she heard a sound that made her blood run cold.

"Oh, shit."

The door at the end of the hall opened and a rumpled brunette shuffled out. Tara turned so red she was almost purple.

"F-Faith...what are you doing home?"

"Stomach flu."

"Oh...sorry," Tara mumbled as she scurried down the steps as fast as she could, grabbing her discarded clothes as she went. She threw the clothes in the wash and added at least twice the usual amount of detergent. She grabbed a bottle of water, hurried to her room and shut the door.

"Oh shit oh shit oh shit."

She heard the floorboards squeak outside her door and wanted to hide under the covers. She heard a tap on her door. "Double shit."

"Yeah?"

Faith opened the door and poked her head in. "How did Chosen do?"

<whew>

"Oh, she did great. She's gonna be fine."

"That's good."

"Yeah."

Faith started to close the door, then poked her head back in.

"Oh...and T?"

"Yeah?"

"If you don't get laid soon, your head's gonna pop off."

Tara hid under the covers.

Willow was having a very nice dream. Things were warm...and so soft. Wet kisses trailed up her neck, to her jaw, causing her skin to tingle and her breathing to become heavy.

"Yes...ohh, yes. That feels so good. Don't stop," she moaned in her sleep.

Another wet kiss up her cheek, and then another, then a pressure on her arm, and she rolled in the direction of the caress. A firm, wet nudge to her forehead slowly brought her out of her sensual dream. Upon cracking one eyelid open, she tried to focus a bleary green eye on the blonde head resting on her arm looking at her with big brown eyes.

"Okay," she mumbled as she became more awake, "not exactly the blonde I was expecting." She smiled as the dog gently tapped her on the arm again.

"Morning, girl. Do you need to go potty? I know I do, but I can wait. Come on."

_______________________________

Late Sunday morning found Willow and Buffy sitting in the redhead's backyard with what seemed to be a now very energetic Chosen.

"I think she's just finally happy, Will. I mean, look at her," Buffy pointed at the dog, who was once again retrieving what had come to be her favorite ball.

"I think so too, Buff," Willow beamed. "It's just so...I mean...I love it. I love her."

"She's a very lovable girl," Buffy heartily agreed with a nod. "Thanks again for breakfast. Your omelets are delicious."

"You're welcome, and it's no big. I was already up early, fed Chosen and gave her her vitamin, so I figured I should feed my best friend as well."

Buffy eyed her suspiciously. "And...?"

"And what?" Willow asked innocently.

"What's up? You have that look."

"What look?"

"The 'I need to talk to my best friend look'."

Willow sighed and started pulling nervously at blades of grass. "There might be...something," she finally admitted.

"I'm listening. You know you can tell me anything."

"Okay, well, this is kind of embarrassing."

"What's so embarrassing that you can't look me in the eyes, Willow? We've been through God only knows how many huge moments of embarrassment together, not to mention near death experiences."

"Okay," Willow said as she took a deep breath and made herself look at Buffy.

"I've never...um, I haven't...been with anyone."

At Buffy's blank look, she had to continue.

"That way."

Still no recognition.

She took a deep breath and just said it.

"I'm still a...virgin," she whispered, looking down again at the last word.

Buffy tried, but she couldn't keep the look of shock off her face.

"Um...but...what about...you know...in high school?"

"I kinda lied," she finally admitted her long-held secret.

"What? Why?"

"Well, I never really said we did. Everyone just assumed, and I didn't tell you any different. You guys were all doing...stuff...and I just..." Willow admitted with a shrug.

"Willow, did you know you were gay back then?" Buffy asked delicately.

"I think...part of me did, but part of me was still in denial-land. I just wanted to fit in back then. You know how it was."

"Wow. Okay. So that means none of the women you've gone out with either?"

Off Willow's raised eyebrow glare, she nodded. "Okay, stupid question."

"But now I'm having those kinds of thoughts. Some serious thoughts, and I'm...kind of scared."

"Tara?" Buffy asked unnecessarily, as Willow nodded shyly.

"There's just something about her. She's...amazing, and sweet, and did I mention damn sexy?" Willow's eye's lit up as she was talking about Tara, which did not go unnoticed by Buffy.

"And...and what is she going to think when she finds out I'm a 26-year-old virgin?! That I'm some kind of loser weirdo, not to mention that I might not know...things," she trailed off blushing.

"Easy there, Will. Settle down. Maybe she won't even know if you don't tell her."

Willow just buried her face in her hands as Buffy had her major dumb blonde moment.

"Buffy," Willow said slowly, "if we do...things...she's gonna know, ya know?"

The light bulb finally went on over the Slayer's head.

"Oh! Oh...good point. Sorry."

"It's okay. It's just...I really like her."

"Well," Buffy said after a few moments of contemplation, "I think that if she really likes you too, which I think she does, and she's as amazing as you say, then you should tell her when it comes to that point, and she'll understand."

Willow looked up hopefully. "You really think so?"

"Yes, I do. And as far as 'things', you are the research girl. There are ways to find this stuff out," Buffy winked as she elbowed Willow playfully.

"Buffy," Willow whined. "Okay, I may have done some research on the net already," she admitted shyly.

"Really?" Buffy asked excitedly. "What did it say?"

Willow laughed at the look on her friend's face. "Why don't you just ask Faith?" she teased as she ducked a quick hand swatting at her head.

"Hey, I just might. You know, we could always borrow some of Xander's girl-on-girl DVD's."

"Ewww. I'm not touching those DVD's after he's...watched them," Willow said, screwing her face up.

"We could always go buy our own."

"Riiight, like I'm going into one of those stores with you," Willow huffed sarcastically.

One hour later...

"What's this for?" Buffy asked as they walked through Sunnydale's only adult store.

"Um, why don't you just read the box?" Willow said as she blushed and moved on down the aisle of sex toys. "I thought we were here for movies anyway. Why are you even looking at that stuff?"

"Just curious. You never know," Buffy smiled slyly as Willow blushed deeper.

"And I really don't wanna know."

"Well, this has been the most embarrassing day of my life...EVER," Willow said as she flopped down on her couch after their shopping spree.

"Hey, it wasn't that bad. And once again...I'm sorry. I didn't know that thing was going to do that when I picked it up."

Willow looked at her with wide eyes. "Buffy, it was a vibrator. It vibrates!"

"Well, it just startled me is all...and I didn't turn it on, it just came on...somehow...and I dropped it. Yeah...bad...but I chased it and caught it as fast as I could," she said, trying her best to defend herself.

"Right...after it got every single person in there's attention as it vibrated all over the floor and bounced off their feet," Willow said sarcastically.

The two friends looked at each other and busted out laughing.

"Oh my God, these DVD's better be worth it," Willow said as she dug their purchases out of the bag. "So..." she said, turning each one over in her hand reading their descriptions carefully, while just happening to notice the pictures at the same time. "No way those are real," she whispered under her breath. "Which ones did you want to take home first?"

"I'll just start with these," Buffy said as she grabbed the first two from the top of the stack. "It was nice of the sales lady to show us the ones that were actually for women. Learn something new everyday, huh, Will?"

"Huh?" Willow said distractedly as she stared at the DVD cover. Buffy waved a hand in front of Willow's face until she got her attention. "I'm leaving. Have fun with your 'movies'," she smirked as she went out the door.

"Wow," she said to herself as she walked into the kitchen for a cold drink. She heard a slight whine coming from the corner as she passed and peered down into the crate.

"Hi there," she said as she opened the door. "Did you miss me?" She ruffled the dog's head as she let her out the door. She watched as Chosen did her business and trotted proudly back over to her.

"Oh boy," she sighed, "let's see how well Tara taught me how to do this."

A few minutes later, she was back in the house washing her hands smiling to herself. "Well, that was much easier. Tara's a genius."

Thinking of the woman brought other feelings to mind. She headed to the kitchen and fed Chosen again, grabbed the DVD's off the counter and went to her room. "Well, here we go."

_______________________________

Early Sunday morning, Tara headed to her mom's to pick up Bubba and help with the dogs, and quite possibly to avoid Faith until her embarrassment over her previous night's activities would hopefully be forgotten. She thought it was a good plan. That is, until her mother brought her a cup of coffee and sat across from her at the table on the porch with eyebrows raised in that questioning manner like only she could do. <look away -- avoid the eyes>

"So?"

"That new Lab is looking much better," Tara stated looking out toward the dogs running in the fenced yard.

"Hmm...I see. We'll play it that way if you want."

<crap>

"Yes, he is doing much better. He's put on a few more pounds. Sadie still doesn't seem to want to eat though. We may have to take her to the vet if she isn't doing better in the next few days."

"Okay."

"The grass needs mowed in the back again."

"Okay."

"And my daughter seems to be avoiding telling me about her date."

<double crap>

Tara took a deep breath and relented, because no matter what, her mom was going to get some information out of her.

"I'm not avoiding. I took Chosen over, and she did really well. Her friends were there too...at first. She made dinner. It was nice."

Mary studied her daughter closely. "Hmm...so when are you going to see her again?"

"Um, I'm not sure. She said she'd call," Tara mumbled, staring into her coffee.

"Don't worry, honey, she will," Mary said matter-of-factly.

Tara hesitated then looked at her mother seriously. "Mama, can I ask you a question?"

"You know you can, honey. What is it?"

"I just...there's something...well, she...she had a brand new enclosed porch added on just last week."

"Well, that sounds nice."

"No, you don't understand. She said she had it put on just for Chosen...for when she needed to go out...at night."

"Oh?"

"Yes. And it just...it makes me wonder if she might know...about Sunnydale. I mean, it could just be a coincidence, or maybe she really knows. And...how do I find out exactly how much she knows without sounding like a complete nut job? If she doesn't know, then I want to warn her, but I don't know how," Tara said worriedly.

"Well, considering she's a witch, dear, I'd wager she knows something."

"A...witch?!"

"I'm surprised you didn't feel it. Although I don't think she practices much, or maybe not for a long time."

"Well, I do feel something when I'm around her, I just didn't think it was that."

"And just what do you feel?"

Tara ducked her head and blushed. "Do I have to?"

"It could be important, Tara. I'm really not trying to pry, believe it or not. But I know you've seen her energy too because it'd be pretty hard to miss. I have never sensed anything quite like that in my entire life. She's quite a unique girl."

Tara smiled at that and nodded. Willow was definitely something special.

"Um...it's kind of a...tingle," <and my body felt like it was on fire and I almost ruined a pair of panties, my jeans and the truck seat!> Tara sighed and decided that was way too much information to share with anyone...EVER.

"Do you feel it all the time?"

"Well, it's when we touch...and kiss." Tara really wished she could learn to control her blushing.

"I see," Mary said, rubbing a hand over her mouth to hide her grin.

"Mama..."

"Well, it's partly the witch connection. I'd say you just need to talk to the girl."

"Okay, I'll talk to her, but if I ask her if she's seen any vampires lately and she runs the other way, it'll be all your fault."

"Just trust your old Mama on this one, honey," Mary smirked.

"I better get on the mowing," Tara said as she stood up and headed out to the garage.

Mary watched her go and couldn't stop the smile that went from ear to ear. "It's about time."

Very nice update. I cannot wait to see what happens with their next date. The big old talk! I am, of course, referring to the vampire talk. ;)

Sorry I haven't been giving feedback lately >_<

Loving the intense connection between our girls, and I am loving Tara's mom. She seems like a sly ole' fox.

Way to go, Tara's mom! Give her the hint about Willow being a witch. I'm not sure why sophia, Mary, and Giles aren't telling the girl about Faith and Buffy for that matter? Why make them dance around the secrets? Still, such a nice update!

I've been meaning to feedback on this for ages. Wimpy, I love the humour, love the cosy friendships - Tara/Faith best buds always sits well with me - they bring out the best in each other.

I hope the dark undercurrent doesn't delay our girls getting together - give them some fun before you put them in danger!!

NOTE: I just wanted to say thanks to you all for your comments. I enjoy hearing from each and every one of you. Sometimes I can't answer all of your questions because that might give too much away, and I apologize. I have to keep some things a mystery for now so it doesn't ruin any surprises. Thanks again!

fhiwda: Hi there, and thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The big Vampire/Sunnydale talk is coming right up. Even though this isn't an actual "date" date, they manage to have an enjoyable evening together. They will have their real actual going-out type of first date next chapter. Thanks for the feedback!

vampyregurl73: Hi there. Yes, that kiss sure packed a punch for Tara, and she's going back for more. Of course, there's more romance on it's way soon too. Thanks for the feedback!

faolan228: Hi there. No worries, but always happy to see your comments. I'm glad you like their connection. It's definitely there.

Mary is quite a character, and I'm glad you like her. I always wanted Tara to have a mom that was nice and to be there to lend an ear and give words of advice, and oh yeah...not dead. Thanks for the feedback!

JustSkipIt: Hey, Deb. I know, it's about time someone clued at least one of the girls in. Giles really doesn't know that Faith and Buffy plan on seeing more of each other, he just knows they met. I think he's still of the mindset that Buffy should keep her identity as the Slayer a secret. The more people that know, it puts them in danger, yadda, yadda, whatever. The big talk is coming up for our girls, so the cat will be out of the bag for them anyway. Thanks for your feedback!

Paint the Sky: Hi there! I was thrilled to see you here! Of course, it reminded me to go back and start re-reading Quiet Saturday Mornings again. Hubba-Hubba. And you were afraid to write smut. LOL I think I may need to crack open a few beers before I get down and dirty for real with the girls too. Oh, that sounds kinda bad.

I'm really glad you're enjoying this. I like writing Tara and Faith as friends. Their backgrounds and situations are different here and it makes it a lot of fun, and it means a lot when people like it.

As far as the dark undercurrent...well, they are getting ready to have some fun soon, so I hope you don't hate me when they run into a bit of a rocky spot. I'll just run and hide to avoid the rotten tomatoes coming my way. Thanks for the feedback!

Missocki: Hi there! I'm so glad you're enjoying. Our girls can be a bit on the naughty side, can't they? That's always fun. ALWAYS...and I might enjoy it just a little too much sometimes. LOL Thanks for the feedback!

CHAPTER 11

Willow felt off. Way off. She could barely concentrate enough to get through her workday. Everything she saw, or read, or even ate brought up images of a certain blonde -- Tara in a tight, wet t-shirt (no bra of course); Tara lying naked sprawled across her bed, giving her those bedroom eyes, just oozing sex, and oozing from her sex; Tara in her work boots, tight jeans, cowboy hat...and nothing else.

"Oh, Dear God! I'm losing my mind!" she yelled to no one as she went to her bathroom and splashed cold water on her face for the umpteenth time that day.

"I'm gonna kill Buffy for taking me to that store and making me buy those DVD's. Oh, who am I kidding? She didn't make me. And she sure didn't make me watch them both...twice," Willow finally admitted to herself as she stomped downstairs to get a glass of ice water. The colder the better.

Her phone rang just as she was contemplating whether or not she could manage to fit herself in her freezer.

"Hello," she said distractedly and more than a little grumpily.

"Hello, Willow."

"Hello, Buffy."

<No, this isn't awkward>

"How are you doing?"

"Fine." Willow lied. "How about you?"

"Oh, the same." Buffy lied too. She'd gotten home from work and taken a very cold shower. She'd had images of Faith all day. The most memorable one was of the brunette swinging naked from a beam and dropping down facing her, straddling her shoulders. "What are you doing tonight?"

<You mean besides crawling inside my freezer?> "Probably heading to bed early. I didn't sleep too well last night." <Because I was dreaming of naked Tara all night>

"Yeah, me too." <I wonder how flexible Faith really is>

"Okay. See ya."

"See ya."

<No...not awkward at all>

___________________________

The next day, Willow felt a little more back to herself. She could actually go almost an hour without having naughty thoughts, which was a huge improvement from the day before. Although the movies from the adult store were...educational...in some ways, she realized that if and when she and Tara got to that point, she could definitely figure things out on her own, or they could figure them out together. She just wasn't looking forward to that that talk.

She was playing with Chosen in the backyard, and when the dog had finally given her a break, she decided to give Tara a call. After a few rings, Tara's voicemail kicked on. She left a surprisingly short and intelligible message despite her nerves. She knew Tara kept a busy schedule, so she fixed herself dinner while she waited for her to return the call. She was just finishing up her meal when she got a text message: IN THE AREA. MIND IF I STOP BY?

Willow's heart raced as she quickly typed back: PLEASE DO.

Just then her doorbell rang and she about dropped her phone. She glanced out the front window and could see the roof of the purple truck.

"Oh my God!" <okay, settle down -- and brain, NO NAUGHTY THOUGHTS!>

She checked through the peephole, and sure enough, Tara was just on the other side pacing across the porch. She opened the door grinning madly at the nervous woman, who immediately began to apologize.

"I'm so sorry. I don't usually just drop by people's homes, but I was in the neighborhood -- well, after I couldn't stop thinking about you, so I got in my truck after work, and the next thing I knew, I was in Sunnydale, and well..."

The blonde's impressive rambling was interrupted as Willow took her by the hand, quickly pulled her inside and closed the door. Tara found herself engulfed in a warm embrace and shivered as Willow whispered in her ear.

"I've been thinking about you too."

Tara pulled back a little to look into those captivating green eyes and melted at the smile gracing the redhead's face.

"Hi," she said dreamily, staring at those soft lips that she hadn't been able to get off her mind.

"Hi," Willow whispered as she closed the short distance and brought her lips to the full ones in a soft, sweet kiss. Both girls pulled back slightly with a sigh, blushing with the feelings running through them.

"Wow," Willow whispered.

"Yeah...wow," Tara breathed as that warm tingle started spreading quickly throughout her whole body. They stood there grinning shyly at each other waiting for their brain function to return.

"Sit...would you like to...sit?"

Tara just nodded as Willow took her by the hand and led her to the couch. They snuggled close and both stared down at their still entwined fingers in a daze. Tara finally looked up. She came here for a reason, and she just had to know.

"Willow..." she whispered, waiting for Willow's eyes to meet her own, "do you...feel it too?" She hoped and prayed that Willow knew what she meant. She watched those sweet lips curl into a slow smile, and she melted all over again.

"That's kind of a loaded question, Miss Maclay," Willow said cheekily, causing Tara to blush again. "But, if you're talking about feeling like 1000 volts of electricity are flowing through me when we kiss, then yes...I definitely feel it."

"Oh my,...yes...that's...yes, that's what I mean," Tara nodded, "and the tingle...when we touch," she said, looking down and watching Willow's thumb stroke the back of her hand over and over.

Willow smiled again and nodded. "Amazing tingles. I told Buffy it felt like I stuck my finger in a light socket when we kissed."

"That's a perfect description for me too," Tara sighed happily.

Feeling bolder since she knew Willow felt the same thing, Tara took a chance. "It's almost like...magic," Tara whispered and held her breath. She waited nervously, then finally dared to look at Willow and could see the wheels turning in her brain and a myriad of emotions in those expressive eyes.

"Magic," Willow whispered as she looked Tara straight in the eyes. "Definitely magic," she admitted as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. "You know," she stated with assurance, "about Sunnydale...about what goes on here. That's why you leave before it gets dark."

Tara nodded to everything she said. "Yes. I know about the Hellmouth, vampires, demons and...witches."

"How do you...?" Willow swallowed hard. "Witches...I um...I dabble. A long time ago, stuff..." she said quietly, looking down. She felt Tara's soft fingers cupping her chin and lifting her face up until their eyes met.

"It's okay," Tara smiled tenderly. "I'm a witch too, so it looks like we have more in common than we thought. And anyone who pays any attention at all would know this isn't just your normal, run-of-the mill quiet little town."

Willow's mind was racing. This beautiful woman was a witch. Willow had gotten into witchcraft years ago, had done a few spells, which usually ended badly. Then the whole Angelus/Angel thing. She touched something dark and it concerned her and Giles both. He talked to her at length about his own history with the dark arts and the dangers it entailed. They decided together that he could work with her enough so that she could keep herself and her friends safe, and she was content with that...for a while. Then Anya asked for help with a spell, and she was tempted once again. That had been the last time. After that, she never strayed from the light magics again. She and Giles worked diligently and she perfected every protection and defensive spell they could find and those had proven useful on many occasions. There were times when other small spells were needed, but she never ventured near anything even remotely close to being dark or dangerous. Meeting her vampire self had pretty much scared her straight, in a manner of speaking. Ironically, it had opened her eyes to the fact that she was definitely gay...not just kinda.

Tara watched quietly as Willow was apparently having a very detailed conversation in her own head. She was worried about her reaction, but still thought it was cute.

"Um, Willow...are you okay?"

Willow blinked then focused on those blue eyes. "Uh...yeah, I'm okay. It's just a lot, and a long story. I'm sorry."

"That's okay," Tara said as she slipped her arm around her shoulder and pulled her close. "You don't have to apologize or explain. Just...tell me one thing?"

"What is it?"

"Is it okay if I kiss you again?"

Willow didn't speak. She just slid her hands up the sides of her neck, into the soft hair and quickly pressed their lips together with more force than their previous kisses much to Tara's delight. The blonde wrapped both arms around Willow's waist and easily lifted the smaller girl onto her lap. Their lips met over and over again, teasing yet powerful, until they couldn't take it anymore. Tara slowly opened her mouth in silent invitation, and in less than a heartbeat, had her first taste of Willow's playful tongue. They weren't sure who moaned first as the deep vibration echoed in both of their mouths.

Willow slid her hands further into the silky blonde hair as the tingle spread like wildfire. She pressed her body harder into the blonde's and heard a sharp intake of air as Tara pulled away panting. Green eyes looked questioningly into darkening blue as they both took a minute to catch their breath.

"Too fast?" Willow asked anxiously.

Tara smiled and shook her head as she leaned forward and placed a quick kiss on Willow's tantalizing lips then pulled away again. "It's just...um...I need to use the restroom...long drive," she admitted shyly.

"Oh, sure...of course." Willow kissed her once more then extracted herself from her lap. She watched with a dopey grin as Tara walked down the hall.

Tara quickly shut the door and leaned back against it. <Oh. My. God. A few more seconds of that and I think I would've passed out...not to mention...> She quickly used the facilities and found that her fear was indeed confirmed. <Shit. I can't even sit on her couch or I'll leave a stain. Oh God! I probably already have! Maybe I can cross my legs under me and sit on them, or just stand up?> She washed her hands and splashed cold water on her face before she felt calmed down enough to go back out to Willow. She found her in the kitchen pouring them drinks. Willow gave her a quick kiss and handed her a glass.

"Chosen's out back. Would you like to go see her?"

"Oh, yes."

"Come on," Willow said as she took Tara's hand and led her outside.

"Hey, girl." Tara squatted down and hugged the blonde dog close. Chosen licked up the side of her face, then moved over to kiss Willow, wagging her tail the whole time. Willow grabbed the tennis ball and began Chosen's favorite game. The girls sat on the ground and leaned into each other as they watched Chosen run and play.

"She looks amazing, Willow," Tara said happily.

"She does, doesn't she?"

Willow reached over and once again took Tara's hand in her own. She just loved touching Tara, and she needed to feel that connection when she told her what she wanted to say.

"Tara, there were things...circumstances, and I needed to help." She hesitated until she looked up and Tara nodded for her to continue. "That's what we do -- help. So I did a spell...a curse actually, and had to go to sort of a dark place. It was pretty scary, so I decided to stay away from that, only doing light magics, mostly protection-type spells."

Tara had many questions and wasn't quite sure where to start. "Um, okay. How long ago was that? The...curse?"

"Around 9 years or so. I was still in high school. Everything was fine until I was, um, tricked into helping someone with a spell, again on the dark side, and again more badness. Ever since then, I don't take chances. I keep my magic to a minimum, and I'm very careful how I use it."

Since Willow had begun to open up, she felt it was her turn to share.

"We...the women in my family...our gift is mostly healing. We can do more, but that's where we excel. That's one of the reasons we got into nursing. We can use it and help a lot of people, but keep it as subtle as possible to avoid raising suspicion. It also comes in handy with the animals."

Willow smiled and pulled her hand into her lap. "You...you help too...with your magic?"

"Yes. I do what I can. So...who are the 'we' you were talking about, and what is it you help with...if you don't mind me asking...but you don't have to..."

"It's okay. I feel like I can tell you," Willow said as she brought her hand up and kissed the knuckles. "We -- me, Xander and Buffy. Do you know what a Slayer is?"

"Slayer?" Tara's eyebrows shot up. "As in Vampire Slayer -- one girl in all the world?"

Willow smiled with relief that Tara knew. There wouldn't have to be anymore secrets or lies. "Yes, that Slayer...AKA my best friend."

Tara's jaw dropped. "Oh my God! You're kidding me!" Tara raised an eyebrow and bumped their shoulders. "Gymnastics, huh?" she smirked.

Willow blushed. "I'm sorry I lied, but Buffy kind of forgot she's supposed to keep it a secret around you guys. She said she felt like she could be herself around Faith."

"Well, it's no wonder. Seems like they have more in common than they realize too."

"Huh?"

"Well, Faith is...she's in line if something happens to Buffy."

Now it was Willow's turn for her jaw to drop. "What?! Oh my...no wonder...can you imagine...?"

Willow's fragmented sentences actually made sense to Tara and she just nodded her head. "Oh yeah."

"Should we tell them?"

Tara's laugh was melodic as she cuddled close to the redhead. "I have no idea, sweetie."

Willow couldn't believe how many things this woman did that completely turned her to mush. "Well, they are awfully fun to watch together. Maybe we shouldn't tell them just yet."

"That would be kinda sneaky, yet very entertaining. I like the way you think, Miss Rosenberg," Tara said as she kissed her cheek.

"So...raincheck for the movie today or do you need to go home?"

Tara would love to stay. She could picture them cuddled up on the couch with the lights dimmed, some more of those amazing kisses...maybe more. "Well, I don't really need to go, but it's going to be dark soon."

"Oh, well if that's the only reason, Buffy's just a text away, and she'll make sure it's safe when you leave. I'd love it if you stayed...if you want."

"Will...I want."

Willow thought the low voice of the blonde was about the sexiest thing she had ever heard.

They headed into the house with Chosen following close behind.

"I'm going to feed her real quick. You can go see if there's anything you want to watch. They're on the shelf below the DVD player." She cocked her head to the side and smiled as she watched Tara walk away. She was absently filling Chosen's food bowl when her eyes widened in horror. "Oh shit."

Willow walked in with fresh drinks to find Tara sitting sideways on the couch with a leg tucked under, her shoes neatly placed on the floor off to the side, and a small stack of movies on the table in front of her.

"I like all of these, so you can pick from them if that's okay?"

Willow sat down and looked over Tara's choices and breathed a sigh of relief. "I haven't seen this one in a while. What do you think?"

"Sounds good," Tara said with a smile.

"And just so you know...some of those are Buffy's," she mumbled.

Willow shouldn't even try to lie. It was just plain useless.

"Oh, really? I think it's a very good collection. But...I haven't seen this one. Can you tell me what kind of ratings it got?" Tara asked innocently as she pulled one of Willow's recent purchases out from under the pillow she was leaning against.

Willow blushed from her toes to the top of her head. "That's not...Tara...it's not what you think!" she sputtered.

"What?" Tara looked over the cover carefully. "I think it's pretty obvious, Miss Rosen-perv," Tara smirked, dangling the DVD from her hand.

"Tara, give me that," Willow whined as she lunged across the blonde. That's when she realized she was no match for the stronger woman, as she held her back gently with one hand.

"So...is it any good?" Tara went on casually as the redhead struggled to reach the DVD that was just out of her reach.

"I don't know!"

"Tell me the truth and I'll let you have it," Tara teased.

"Yes! Yes, okay?! It's good. Now give it..."

In one quick move, Willow found herself flipped over on her back with Tara smiling sensually down at her. "Exactly how good is it?" the blonde purred as she leaned down and tasted the creamy skin of Willow's neck.

"Ohhh...it's goood," Willow moaned.

Tara slowly pulled back and took in the flushed face and unfocused green eyes. Her curtain of sandy hair surrounded them like their own private cocoon and her breath caught as she realized that she wanted to stay right here forever. She gently brushed stray red hairs back and smiled as the twinkle returned to those beautiful eyes. She felt arms wrap around her lower back and pull her closer, just then realizing exactly where she was laying. She felt the warmth of Willow's center pressed against her own and bit back a moan. She willed her lower body to hold still, although every fiber wanted nothing more than to grind into that heat and satisfy her aching need. With an iron will, she lay perfectly still as her heart hammered inside her chest and her breath grew ragged. She wanted this woman, more than she had ever wanted anything in her entire life, and was almost certain she felt the same way. She just couldn't, no matter how tempting that was at the moment.

"You're so beautiful," she whispered with all her heart, and watched as tears began to well up in those green eyes staring back at her. "Can I please kiss you?"

"Oh...yes."

In a move that belied the earlier heat and hunger, their lips met slowly and tenderly...soft tongues caressing, reveling in the sweetness they were quickly becoming addicted to.

Their lips finally slid apart, albeit reluctantly, and Tara rolled to her side against the back of the couch. She wrapped an arm around Willow's middle and rested her chin on the petite shoulder.

"I thought we were gonna watch a movie?" Tara teased, tickling the ribs at her fingertips.

"Hey," Willow giggled and rolled onto her side facing the blonde, "you didn't let me put it in."

Tara groaned. This was not going to be easy.

"Did I really say that out loud?"

Tara dropped her head, hiding her face in Willow's neck and nodded.

"Please, just ignore anything that comes out of my mouth right now. My blood flow isn't circulating to my brain very well at the moment." Willow blushed, but she was speaking the truth.

Tara raised up on an elbow and ran her thumb over Willow's kiss swollen lips. "I like your mouth."

"Me too," Willow agreed, "with the liking of your mouth...very much. Would you like me to...put it in now?" Willow asked coyly.

"Okay, now you're just doing it on purpose," Tara playfully accused.

Willow just smiled and slipped off the couch. "Be right back -- bathroom," she said over her shoulder as she started down the hall.

"Hey, Will," Tara called out, stopping the redhead in her tracks.

"Yes, gorgeous?" Willow answered with a beaming smile.

"Would you like me to go ahead and slip in 'Lusty Lesbos of Lubbock' while you're gone?" Tara smirked, arching her eyebrow.

Willow managed to scowl and smile at the same time, and Tara thought it was absolutely abdorable.

"No...please. Just trust me on this one. A Great. Big. No." Willow started back toward the bathroom but stopped once again. "Hey, Tara?"

"Yes?"

"Do you have a cowboy hat?"

Tara just smiled.

Willow nearly skipped down the hall and returned a few minutes later wearing loose, comfy sweatpants and a different t-shirt. Tara was reclined back on the sofa with one leg tucked under her again holding the remote, ready to hit play once the other woman joined her. Willow curled into her side and quickly kissed her cheek.

"I'm ready. I love 'Bridesmaids'."

"What are these...your movie watching clothes?" Tara teased as she pulled at the material on Willow's thigh.

"I just wanted to be comfortable." That was only a half-lie. She did want to be comfortable as she snuggled up with Tara to watch the movie, but what she wasn't admitting was that she had had a small flood in her panties and had to throw them in the hamper with all the others she had done the same to over the past couple of days. "Definitely time to do some laundry," she mused to herself as she cleaned up and pulled on her last clean pair. Her moist jeans joined the pile, and she smiled and shook her head as she closed the lid. "Oh, what that woman does to me." She carried the hamper across the hall to the laundry room and quickly started the panty load.

What she wasn't aware of was that at the same time, Tara was tugging her own uncomfortable jeans away from her wet center, trying to get some kind of relief from the sticky garments.

"Well, I hope you're good and comfy now."

"Much better."

Tara laid on her side and spooned Willow against her front. She wrapped a protective arm around her middle as they spent the next 2 hours laughing and relishing in the closeness of each other. This was a life-altering moment for them, as they both came to the revelation that they could spend the rest of their lives just like this.

Chosen was watching from where she lay on the dining room floor with her head between her paws. Thump-thump-thump.

They had taken a short intermission for fresh drinks, bathroom breaks and Tara took that time to call Faith and let her know where she was and when she would be home. After the expected verbal thrashing of, "Are you crazy?!" and "It's already dark!" Tara convinced her that Willow would make sure she was safe when she left.

Once the movie ended and their wonderful day regretfully was coming to an end, Willow called the Slayer, who informed her she would be right over to stealthily protect her 'guest', and wanted full disclosure.

They were saying goodnight at the door with soft, lingering kisses. "Tara?" Willow murmured as their lips slowly separated.

"Hmm?" Tara answered as she gazed dreamily into Willow's eyes.

"Would you like to go out on a date with me...a real one...sometime? I don't know when you're off again, but whatever works for you...if you want?"

"Willow, believe me...I want." Tara smiled and kissed her one last time.

Willow walked her to the truck, gave her a long hug, sighed, then watched her drive off into the night.

"What, no smoochies by the truck tonight, Will? Do I need to carry your wobbly ass back inside?" Buffy teased as she came around the corner of the house. "Damn, what put that smile on your face? I think it'll crack if you smile any wider." She was just full of quips tonight, and it didn't bother Willow one little bit. She was too happy floating on her little Tara cloud. That was, until a sad pout crossed her features as she realized she felt like a part of her had just left in that truck. Buffy saw that look and knew what was needed. She looped her arm through the redhead's and led her back into the house. "Come on. Best friend time."

"So you just decided to take off to the Hellmouth out of the blue, all by yourself, AND stay 'til after dark?!" Faith had been on a tirade ever since Tara had gotten home.

"Yes, Faith. I told you, I needed to talk to her in person."

"What was so damn important that you had to do it in person?"

"Lots of things actually. I needed to know if she knew about the real Sunnydale...maybe warn her. That's something you can't just do over the phone, don't you agree?"

"Well, yeah, but..."

"Don't you want to know what happened?"

"Okay...yes, I do," Faith finally started to calm down when she heard Tara's reasoning behind her little impromptu trip.

"Well, first we did some hugging and kissing..."

"Tara!"

The blonde had to laugh. She was in such a good mood from her day with Willow, and it was just so fun to tease her best friend.

"Okay. Yes, she knows. She's also a semi-practicing witch, so we talked about that for a while. Then we kissed some more..."

Tara barely ducked the pillow flung at her head as she laughed at the frustrated brunette.

"Hey, if I ain't gettin' any, I sure don't wanna hear all your dirty details."

"Wasn't dirty -- unless you count that thing she did with the riding crop. OW!" Tara laughed and rubbed her head as the second pillow found its mark. "Anyway, seriously, she knows about vampires, etc. Her magic use is usually for protection, and she's very careful. I'm pretty sure she had her porch built on for Chosen...so she'd be safe when she had to go out at night."

"For real?"

"I'm almost positive."

"Well, makes sense. It would be part of the house -- still needs an invitation."

"Right. And she even has her own little bathroom at the end of it."

"Who, Chosen or Willow?"

This time it was Faith on the receiving end of a thrown pillow. Their pillows sure were getting abused tonight.

"Damn, girl! You've been workin' out."

Tara just smirked as she started up the stairs. "Goodnight, Faith. I'd love to chat some more, but I really, really need a shower."

"Thanks for the warning. I'll just go start my bike and rev the engine really loud for half an hour!"

"I'll only need 10 minutes!" the blonde yelled back, laughing as she closed the bathroom door.

Awesome update! I love all the teasing going on. The characters are hilarious! I'm glad about the revelations between Willow and Tara... that's a potential bump in their relationship that was easily avoided.

You just brightened up my crappy day... thank you.

Can't wait for more.

Hmmmmm, Is Tara getting stronger or am I reading to much into this? Willow commented on her strength and Faith asked if she had been working out.

Loved the quasi-date.

This is awesome. Nice and light (so far.) Exactly what I need right now. Though I have a feeling it's gonna get a lot more serious.

And I love the addition of the dog. I'm a sucker for dogs. It adds a nice extra element of cuteness.

Keep it up.
