Authors note: I don’t like Season Six’s ending (obviously), so here’s my way of making things better. Eventually. After much angst. But hopefully you’ll like the W/T bits. The happy ones I mean. Hold on tight!
The following morning the two girls woke within minutes of each other. After some light conversation they decided to pack up Tara’s stuff and start taking it back to Buffy’s house. After calling Buffy and Xander for some extra muscle, Willow and Tara started throwing things into boxes. Then they started throwing them at each other.
Buffy’s enhanced hearing picked up the voices of her two friends about three minutes before Xander.
“Ow! Hey! That thing is elastic!”
“Sorry baby. Here, I’ll kiss it better. Y’know, I don’t think this is going to fit. We’ve got too much in there as it is.”
“Just twist it a bit and push.”
Thank God Xander can’t hear this, Buffy thought. He’d have a fit.
They arrived at the dorm and Buffy knocked loudly on the door. There was a thud, a muffled curse and some giggling, until Willow called out.
“Come in.”
Buffy struggled to keep a straight face as she entered. Tara was on the floor, rubbing her elbow and mock glaring at Willow. The floor was strewn with feathers from what had obviously been an impromptu pillow fight, and by the looks of it, Willow had won.
“Okay then,” Xander said, “let’s get packing.”
The next few hours passed uneventfully except for a few bruises, and soon they were all collapsed on various pieces of furniture in Buffy’s living room.
“Jeez, Tara, you didn’t have that much stuff when you left! It hasn’t been that long, how did you get all that?” Xander whined.
“I went shopping.”
“Oh.”
A comfortable silence encompassed them, a welcome time to just sit and enjoy each other’s company. After a few minutes Xander went to get some drinks, leaving the three girls alone with each other.
“So, Tara…now that you’re all settled in, I think we should celebrate.”
“How?”
Willow locked gazes with Buffy and grinned. Xander chose that moment to come back in. He took one look at their faces and immediately asked
“What are you two up to?”
As one the girls answered.
“Bronzing!”

TARA:
I know exactly what they see in me.
A happy and sweet lesbian who’s never hurt anyone and has enabled you to find some truth and peace in your life at last, never mind the great sex we’re obviously having…realization dawns on her…aaah, right. Yeah. I have to die. Clearly. - Once More With Bitterness
