Chapter 1: Six Years Apart

I have spent my entire life running away from those I love. I have become a shell, a distant creature that can’t feel anymore. When she left me my world crashed and burned and all that was left is the pathetic creature that you now see.

I am twenty eight today. It has been over six years since I ran. Why the hell have I been gone so long? This entire quest I have been on has been an entire waste. I will never find a way to gain control. There will always be this part of me that lurks in the dark that tries to break out and cause chaos.

Magic, I use to love that word but now it is more of a painful reminder of what I did to the women I loved, no, love. I will never stop remembering. The pain in her face when she learned of the spell I had placed on her is fresh in my mind. She couldn’t even look me in the eyes,

What have I become that I can’t return? Why can I not return to you guys? These questions have been haunting me for years. You have no idea of how many sleepless nights I have spent pondering over what to do. Now I have reached a conclusion to this problem.

I am returning to Sunnydale.

Love, Willow

***
Willow had sent that letter two days before she had packed up her apartment in Williamsburg. She had spent the last two years in the town with a covenant of witches trying to learn how to control her dark side. So far the entire experiment had been a bust, but the town was a nice place and she had loved the years she had spent in the town. Being near the colonial town had made her feel more connected to the forces around her.

As she stepped out her apartment for the last time her tabby, Butterscotch, came running out of the bushes near the stairs. The cat jumped onto the duffle willow was carrying and made itself comfortable on top of it as willow walked down the stairs towards her car.

“You spoiled brat.” She said as she places the cat and duffle in the car.

As she got into the car she allowed herself one moment to breathe. This was it, she was heading back to hell. The situation was ironic almost. She turned the key in the ignition and the engine let out a ‘trrrrr’ sound and she was off to California.
**
Buffy Summers had never been more pissed off in her life. Six years of no calls, no letters, and no visits and suddenly out of the blue she receives a letter that says, ‘Hey, I am returning in a few days.’ She could shoot Willow for what she had caused the scoobies to go through, especially Tara.

When Willow returned she was going to have a lot of questions to answer to all of them. They deserved and answer to why they had been thrown out and forgotten so quickly while Willow ran off to god knows where.
**

Willow had been driving for three days before Sunnydale was even mentioned on sign. She was only twenty-three miles away from the hellmouth that was known as Sunny dale. What the hell was she going to do when she got there? Trying to block the questions out of her mind she turned up the radio to listen to the song on the radio. As she drove closer and closer to the town the less affective the music became in distracting he from the questions and worries piling up in her mind.

‘Only ten minutes left now.’ She though as she entered the familiar town that she had once called home.

***
Over the past six years Xander Harris had changed a lot. He had gotten married, bought a house, and had a daughter. Nothing was the same as it was when his best friend left. What hurt him the most was that she wasn’t able to be his Best Man. He had tried to find her for months so she could be there, even going so far as to delay the wedding for six months while searching for her.

Xander though never gave up on her. He always thought that someday out of the blue she would return. He never thought it would take so long for the day to come. Waiting six years was a little much in his book.

He looked out the window and saw a blue sedan pull up to his house. Out stepped the beautiful redhead he was thinking of. She had changed since he had last seen her. Her eyes were as cold as stone, the complete opposite of the eyes filled with the fire of life last time he had seen her. Also, a long gash marred her face from the left eye to her nose, life a creature had dragged a claw across her face.

Willow took notice of Xander staring at her through the window. She lift her hand and gave him a small wave, her nervous smile gracing her lips as she did this. She fidgeted on the lawn for a few moments as Xander walked out to meet her.

“Hey Will bear,” He said scooping her up into a hug, “Do you know how much I have missed you?”

Willow grinned into his shoulder, “Only about as half as much as I missed you.”

For a moment the two friends stood there, taking in the feeling of it. The let go eventually and walked into the house. As Willow stepped in a little girl that was about four years old tackled her legs

“Hiya!” the little girl said.

Willow looked shocked for a moment, “Hi.”

Willow turned to Xander and gave him an asking look.

He nodded, “That’s my daughter, Judith Willow Harris. She is turning four next month.”

“Oh, Willow?” she asked.

“I missed you too much Will.” He took her hand in hers.

He smiled to her and said, “Do you know the president mentioned you in his speech yesterday?”

Willow nodded. “Yeah, last time I was up in D.C. he asked me if he could mention my work in Chemistry in his speech. I never really thought that he would though. I mean silly old me, Willow, mentioned by one of the world’s leaders. Can you believe it I went from….Oh, I’m babbling.”

“No, I missed the babble, keep babbling on.” He said.

Willow then remembered something, “Shit. Shit. I left Butterscotch in the car.”

Willow ran back outside and opened the car’s door. Out flew an orange cat, meowing angrily. The cat gave one look at Willow and took off down the street. Willow ran behind the cat.

“Butterscotch! Come back!” She yelled.

Willow was now dashing around cars and jumping over obstacles trying to catch her evil cat. The chase was getting old real fast. Soon Butterscotch was completely out of sight and Willow gave up, hoping someone would call he cell number that was on her collar.
***
Tara Maclay was walking home from an exhausting evening with Anya at the Magic Box. Anya had asked her to close because an old friend of Xander’s from high school was visiting and she wanted to be there when they arrived. She had been rather cryptic about the whole affair not even using he or she pronouns or using a name. She wondered just who this friend was or if there even was a friend visiting and if Anya just used it as a reason to go home early to Xander and Judith.

As she crossed the street a orange ball of fur leaped at her. It was a Tabby cat that had attacked her and not some demon like she had originally thought it could have been as she fell backwards. The cat started to burry itself in her jacket to keep warm from the cold December day.

“Hey you, “She stroked the cat, “What are you doing here? Do you have an owner?” A tag caught her attention, “Well Butterscotch, did you run off on your owner? “
***

Willow sat with Xander in the living room of his house. It was about nine, and she was worried about Butterscotch. Xander for the past few hours had been questioning her.

“So Will, How long are you going to be in Sunnydale?” He asked.

“At least a year, I signed a contract with the university that I would teach in-organic chemistry for a year.” Willow replied checking he cell phone to check if anyone had called about Butterscotch.

Xander looked shocked, “So you are staying, You know you can’t stay here for a year, right?”

Willow laughed, “Of course you big goof. I have already bought a house that I remembered from when I was little. The closing is tomorrow and then I am going to move in the stuff in my car and buy some furniture.”

“So you are not planning on leaving anytime soon.” He said slowly, taking in what Willow had just told him.
Willow took Xander’s hands, “Xander currently my mind set is on never being away from my family ever again.”

“Good we missed you too much, Including…” Xander never finished the sentence because Willow’s phone began to ring.

“I better take this it could be about Butterscotch.” Willow said walking out of the room.

She pressed talk. “Hello.”

A voice responded, “Hello, are you possibly missing a cat named Butterscotch? Because I found a cat today in the downtown area and the tag on her collar had your number on it.”

“Yeah, she ran away this morning, is she alright?” Willow asked her voice taking on a tone of worry.

“Oh no, I mean yeah, she is fine a little filthy but she is okay.” The voice seemed so fimilar to Willow.

“Well, thank you Ms…? I don’t know what I do if she wasn’t alright.”

“It is nothing if you could give me an address I could drop her off for you. By the way, my name is Tara, Tara Maclay.” Tara said not sensing that the last two things she had said would disturb the woman.

“Tara?” whispered Willow into the phone before passing out.

Xander walked into the room a good moment later to find Willow on the Ground.

“Willow!” he cried.
***

Tara heard a thumping noise as if someone had fallen.

“Hello? Miss?” she asked into the phone.

Before Tara hung up she heard a cry through the phone. “Willow!”

Willow? Willow Rosenberg? Is that you?” she asked meekly.

She heard the phone be picked up and Xander’s familiar voice came through clear. “Hey Tara, I guess you know why Anya wanted to come home early today now.”

With that Tara hung up the phone and threw it to the corner. She looked at Butterscotch, who was sitting with Ms. Kitty Fantastico on the couch.

You planned this didn’t you, you little brat.” She said before throwing herself face down onto the couch parallel to the one they sat on.

How the hell was she going to deal with Willow being back?

AmberGoddess: I hope this chapter gives you some insight on what's been happening with Willow.

ashcrash71590: Thanks for posting a comment

_WTF_ :D: I kind of love your signature. Cracked me up when I read it. Thanks for the encouragement.

uuhhHHH_ditto: Actually this is set post Tabula Rasa. Willow leaves because she feels that she is out of control with her powers after losing Tara, so she goes off to try and find a cure for it. As for why the President mentioned her, well, you'll see soon.

Again to everyone who commented thanks a ton. Now Chapter 2 will be posted with in the hour.

Zampsa1975: This chapter reveals all about the relationship status. Thanks for reviewing.

Now here is chapter 2.

Chapter 2: I Love You Through All Peace and Hate

Willow sat on Xander’s couch sipping cold water. She was recovering from the phone call. Who could believe out of the hundreds of people in town it had to be Tara who found Butterscotch. It was like the fates were saying, ‘Screw you Rosenberg.’ The cosmos just loved to play around with her emotions. This had to be some sort of joke to the goddesses.

Xander was standing next to Willow making sure she didn’t collapse again. He might be a little tick at Willow for not calling then suddenly returning, but he didn’t want her to get a concussion. He was balancing her every now and then just to make sure she wouldn’t fall.

“Why did it have to be her?” Willow whined to the force that seemed to be playing a prank on her.

Xander wrapped his arms around her, “Because Will, you have to get the closure that the two of you never got.”

Willow looked up. “What if I don’t want closure?” She asked.

“Willow, don’t you want another relationship. What if one of your dates goes really well and you find someone you actually want to spend forever with but Tara pops up into your mind and you can’t move on.” He said.

Willow took his hand in hers and said, “Xander, I have not dated anyone since Tara.”

He looked at her in disbelief, “Not one date, how about one night stand? A kiss? Flirting? Willow really, not even some flirting!” He exclaimed as she shook her head.

“Xander I haven’t even looked at another woman since Tara. No one measures up to her. She was it for me, I don’t fall for women, I fell for one woman and now I have lost her and now I am destined to be alone.” She said sadly. “I really fucked up Xan. The whole magic thing, it made me loses her, lose you guys, and lose myself.”

“Will you didn’t lose yourself…”Xander began.

“No Xander, I did. For a year after I left I tried to bottle up my magic not using it ever and it backfired, it backfired hard. I KILLED SOMEONE! God damn it! I am messed up beyond all help I let myself lose control once and someone died because of it, now I am always wary, trying to make sure I use enough magic that it doesn’t back up and use too little to go into a spiral of addiction again. Xander, I am totally lost. Those years afterwards I spent years with different covens trying to learn a way to deal. I can’t. I wake up some mornings and I have to stay in bed because if I move everything in the rooms starts to fly around. My powers are growing as I get older and I don’t think that I will be able to control them at all in the next year or two. I AM LOST!” She screamed the last three words and crumpled to her knees.

“I spent six damn years Xander trying to find a cure but there is none. How do I go one? How do I become Willow again?” she said at almost a whisper as though if she spoke to loud the world would shatter around her.

Xander pulled willow into a hug and rocked her back and forth. How did his friend become so broken without him knowing?

***

“It was her Buffy, out of all the people in the whole town in had to be her cat. It is like the goddesses are going, ‘Hey Maclay, we know you haven’t gotten over her yet so here is a damn surprise! It is your ex-girlfriend who made it so you could never date again.’ “ She said placing her head down on the kitchen table in the Summers’s house.

Buffy stopped washing the dishes in the kitchen and stat down next to Tara. She placed an arm around her and gave her a small squeeze.

“Maybe Tara she is better. Maybe she went away so she could become better and more worthy of you. Once you fall for Tara it is impossible not to love her, trust me, a bunch of girls at the Bronze who like you keep telling me this, and they haven’t even been on a date with you!”

Tara lifted her head. Buffy meant well but what she was saying made her feel worse. What if it was her fault Willow went away. She had broken up with her because she had become addicted to magic, which she now realized was a time when she was needed the most. She had helped bring Willow into that addiction, never explaining why she didn’t delve in the dark magic. She had been taught by her mother, but who had taught Willow. No one, that’s who.

“I know you are trying to make me feel better Buff, but right now I just need to get drop dead drunk.” She said.

Buffy smiled, “Well then, I call the gang over, well except Giles, he is a sloppy drunk and plus Anya and Xander will need him to watch Judith.”

***

Xander was sitting on the back porch with Anya when his phone rang. He checked his caller id, it was Buffy.

“Hey Buffster!” He said answering the phone.

“Hey Xander, is Willow in the room?” she asked.

Xander looked around to make sure the redhead wasn’t spying from a corner, “Nope.”

“Good. I have an idea, I know it is probably stupid and the likelihood that Willow still loves Tara is slim but…”

“Slim,” Exclaimed Xander, “Willow hasn’t dated anyone since Tara. She says that she was it for her. No way has she moved on. Tara is the one we have to worry about.”

Buffy huffed, “So you are telling me Willow told you she loved Tara about the same time Tara told me she still loved Willow. So the question is, why the hell haven’t they done something about their feelings? But you know what, I am going to do it tonight for them. Tara wanted to get dead drunk to forget her Willow troubles, but I say why I don’t accidentally forget to tell you not to bring Willow and I accidentally make them sit next to each other, and maybe, just maybe I’ll come up with a drinking game that will make the two sing like canaries.”

Xander scratched his head, “All I got out of that was Willow and Tara still love each other so bring Willow with you and we’ll try to shack them up.”

“That is the idea. If one of them tries to leave though I swear I will lock them in a closet till morning and they are either coming out as a couple or in body bags.” She said.

***

Tara sat on the top of the stairs. She was waiting for Dawn to arrive with the massive amounts of alcohol that it would take to wipe her mind of all thoughts that were Willow related. She lurched forward when the door opened. In came Dawn carrying what was probably the entire supply of alcohol of the Sunnydale supermarket.

“Hey Tar,” Dawn said while struggling to carry what seemed to be twenty bags full of various alcohols, “Think you could give me a hand? This is a bit heavy.” Tara nodded and ran to help the younger girl. “So Buff filled me in on the details of this drink till the sun shines out of everyone’s ass nights. I am really sorry you had to learn about Will returning like this, but hey, at least this way we can have a massive hangover together and I can share your pain!”

Tara smiled, “I feel a little dirty getting drunk with a girl I have known since she was fourteen years old, well technically since she was a few months old. It just feels like I am corrupting you somehow.”

“Too late. “ Dawn grinned, “You and Willow corrupted me in so many ways.” Tara looked at her with wide eyes. “Hey don’t do the whole, ‘I have no idea what you mean’ look. I helped coin that look in this house, and come on everyone knew what you and Willow were doing. Remember that time when we all were singing and you and Willow supposedly left to search for a volumey text? We all know what you were doing really.” Dawn stated.

“I have no idea what you are talking about.” Tara declared trying not to give her true emotions away.

Dawn gave her a wicked look, “You know you are a terrible liar, right?”

“The worst.” Tara agreed.

***

Willow sat in her car, staring at the house that she had not stepped into in years. The memories that filled the house haunted Willow. The time they had fought the undead creatures through the house after Buffy had returned from her little sabbatical. Those memories were what haunted her the most.

Willow back then did not understand Buffy’s need to run and get away from everything that had caused her pain, but now after running away herself she understood. Pain was, well, painful. It had driven her to rock bottom and brought her to the east coast.

Willow was knocked out of her reminiscing when there was a knock on her window. Outside Xander, Anya and Buffy were waiting for her.

***

Tara and Dawn were sitting on the living room couch. She was already a little tipsy. Apparently White Russians added up over time. She was just about to open another bottle of vodka when she heard the front door open and Dawn yell.

“SHIT!”Dawn screamed. “Shit, bugger, bloody, wanking, damn, hell and a bucket of fish! What the hell is she doing here?”

Tara’s head whipped around to the front door to see what had caused Dawn’s sudden outburst. At the front door stood the one person who had made her feel this pain. Willow stood at the entrance looking completely different from when she left. Willow’s once shoulder length red hair was now about mid back length, she was also way too thin almost to a sickly proportion, but these were minor changes. The major change in Willow was in the face. Her face was marred by a scar from her leftt eye to her right side of her nose, as though a dagger had cut across her face. Her eyes seemed dead of all the mischievous light they once held. Dead, she looked like death.

Willows face, at the sight of Tara, had turned white. She had not wanted to run into the very girl that had made her world once a brilliant array of colors when she entered her life and had turned her life to a grayscale painting when she walked out the door. How did one deal with living in the same town as their ex?

“So, who is up for a lovely drinking game?” asked Anya.

***

“I’ve never slept with a demon.” said Willow. She was holding the glass of tequila close as she laughed at Xander, Anya, and Buffy as they drained the last of their first glass of the strong liquor.

Buffy smiled, “I have never been nearly burnt to a crisp because I was a witch.”

Willow cursed under her breath as she took the first shot of the liquor. Sure, she had wanted to get piss drunk in order to forget about Tara but that was a little hard with Tara in the room. Plus she didn’t want to be drunk in front of the other witch in case she said something that would make the whole situation worse, and it didn’t help that it was Anya’s turn next.

“I never went for six years without any sex after losing my virginity.” Anya said winking at the redhead who had turned a bright red.

Willow brought the glass to her lips once again. When Tara saw this he heart nearly jumped out of her chest. She hadn’t slept with anyone after her. Tara then raised her own glass and took her sip

Dawn grinned when she saw the reaction between the two wiccans, so she just had to add more. “I have never gone six years without going on a date with anyone after having my first date.”

After she said this the two wiccans both took a drink. What was most surprising was Anya taking a drink.

“Hey, I didn’t date as a vengeance demon often. I mostly just had an occasional one night stand.” She said simply.

It was finally now willow’s turn. She had no idea what to ask, so she asked the simplest question in the universe. “I’ve never had Aqua Man underwear.” Xander scowled at Willow as he took a drink

***

Tara and Willow both stumbled out of the living room giggling life little girls. Everyone else had already passed out. The two were completely unable to control their actions anymore and the pent up sexual frustration of six years was coming back to haunt the two. Her hands were going way too far to be considered at all innocent.

“I love you.” said Willow placing her lips onto the other witch’s neck.

Tara moaned back, “I love you too.”

The two witches then moved towards one of the spare rooms of the house. The night was filled with passion, lust, and, most importantly, love.

***

Buffy woke up with one hell of a hangover. She must have consumed a ton of alcohol because usually she could just shake off a hangover, but this hanger over wanted vengeance. She pulled herself up off the ground in the living room. Aspirin then sleep was what she had decided.

After she had taken the wonderful medication she headed upstairs. When she reached the landing she saw a trail of clothing leading to the guest room that once belonged to Dawn. She followed the trail to the slightly ajar door. When she glanced through the crack she saw two familiar figures cuddled together under the covers of the bed.

Buffy took two steps back in surprise. How drunk did they get those two? Sure, she had wanted them back together, but this was a little too fast for her taste. Plus she didn’t believe that the witches had meant to end up in the position they were currently in.

Buffy put away her thoughts and headed to her room to collapse on the bed.

***

Willow was deeply lost in sleep till the shriek of a young woman’s voice brought her out of her dreams. Dawn was standing in the door way of the room and she was in bed completely naked with someone else.

‘Oh god I am in bed with Tara.’ She thought, seeing her partner’s face. She had no idea what she should do. Was this a one night stand, or maybe it was the promise of something maybe in the future. Somehow their subconscious minds had tapped into the lust they, well at least she, felt.

The girl next to her begun to stir from her slumber. It was time to face the music.

Ohhh, If you think I have been mean just wait till the next chapter. You are seriously going to call the ACLU or some other organization that deals with rights issues. I'm not trying to be mean, but this story has a dark past which fuels the conflict of the main characters. In the next chapter, which will be posted tonight, you are going to learn more about what Willow did during those six years. Let me just say one part of it is not so pretty.

Chapter 3: Mad World

A/N Don't throw rocks at me please, oh, and review it makes me happy.

_________

It had been a week since that morning mishap. It was not what Willow had wanted to happen at all. She had wanted to have a less awkward communication with Tara, but now it was hard to even get two words out in the presence of the blue eyed Wiccan. The silence between the two was only making the situation more difficult.

As Willow moved into her new house everything began to change. She didn’t go anywhere near the scoobies, leaving them available for Tara. Willow thought it was the least Tara deserved given the situation. She, however, was dying inside.

Willow had managed to keep herself away busying herself in her work. It was now November and summer was now long over. She had managed to skillfully avoid the scoobies, but they were becoming more persistent at trying to get her to come to dinner.

Today they were going to try and get her to come the most of all days. It was Thanksgiving and she knew they would try and ambush her into going, so she had decided to catch a flight back to the east coast and spend a little time with the coven during the break from school.

Willow was sitting in the terminal of the airport waiting for her flight when the person she least expected walked up to her. Tara in all her glory was standing in front of her, wearing a look of pure disappointment. Willow in all of the time she had spent with Tara had only seen that look once. She had only used that look when she was disappointed and angry at her for doing too much magic.

“Where do you think you are going?” Tara asked.

Willow looked up, “I was going to visit the coven back in Williamsburg. I thought it would be better that way. I mean, I wouldn’t be in the way that way.”

Tara gave her a look of pity. “You think that you would be in the way? No Willow, goddess no, the scoobies are out searching for you. They are worried about you, I mean you turn up out of the blue after six years and then immediately go incommunicado once again. They are beyond worried.”

Tara moved and sat next to Willow. She took Willow’s hands and pulled the girl closer to her.

“Just because it is weird and confusing between us doesn’t mean you have to back away completely. They were, are, your friends too.” Tara said softly trying to comfort and convince the girl next to her.

Willow gave a sad smile. “They haven’t really been my friends in years. I have changed so much since that day in November I left. It has been seven years since the thirteenth since then. Goddess, I don’t know how but I became someone that was not Willow.”

Over on the speakers the boarding call for Willow’s flight was called. She stood up and began to walk towards the gate. She found though Tara had grabbed her arm to hold her back.

“Last few times you walked away I went a long time without hearing from you. I am not going to make that mistake again. Come with me to dinner at Buffy’s house. They are all going to be there. Come.” Tara stated in not an asking tone but a demanding tone.

Willow turned back to the other witch. When their eyes met she knew she wouldn’t be able to resist.

“You are so lucky I didn’t check my bags or I wouldn’t be saying yes right now.” She said. “Before we go over could we make a quick stop at my house so I can change into something less travelery?”

The other women nodded and the two set off out of the airport.

***

The car was filled with an awkward silence as they drove from the airport to Willow’s house. As the car took the twist and turns down the road Tara and Willow’s minds were doing the same. There were so many questions left unanswered between the two.

The silence became too much so Tara said, “Tell me a little about yourself.”

“Why?” Willow asked momentarily taking her eyes off the road to look at the blue eyed witch.

Tara clarified, “Well, you said you were a different Willow. So tell me how you are different.”

Willow was silent for a moment. “I’ll tell you the most obvious one. My face, the scar it’s new.”

Tara nodded. “How did you get it?”

“I gave it to myself.”

Tara’s eyes widened at the statement Willow had just uttered. Why would she give herself the mark on her face? She had never known this self-destructive Willow that seemed to be appearing.

“W-w-why did you give it to yourself?” She asked stuttering for the first time in a long while

Suddenly the car came to halt in front of a house. Willow turned to Tara. Her eyes were filled with sorrow and a darkness that Tara had never seen in those eyes before.

“When I left I was so broken, my magic was out of control and so was I. I tried for a year to bottle it up and not use magic. It didn’t work. My magic is growing out of control because of all the dark magics I dabbled in. Since I was not using magic all that energy was stored in me. I was a ticking time bomb.” Willow paused for a second. “I got so mad one day. It had been a year exactly since I had left, that day. This one man, he wasn’t being the nicest person and, well, exploded. All my energy was release and the man died. I killed him.”

Tara was speechless. Her Willow, her lovely, foolish, brilliant Willow was a murderer. She had sensed a new darkness on the witch when she had returned, but it was in the past and she had assumed, like Giles, it was from the magic. Now she knew why.

“S-ss-so it happened during that?” She half asked the girl.

“No.” Tara looked at the witch in shock.

She then whispered, “H-how then?”

Willow opened her car door and got out. As she started heading up the path she turned back to Tara who was still standing by the car.

“To remind myself.” She stated.

Tara yelled, “To remind you of what, Willow! Why, why did you do that to yourself?”

“To remind myself of the monster I am. I couldn’t stand it, looking into the mirror and seeing my face the same as it had always been. I still had the doe eyed look of innocence. The only way I could give some justice was to make myself look what I have become. See this scar.” She pointed to her face. “It was once much worse. I had managed to cut up a good portion of my face. I’d say this is only one-fiftieth of the size it use to be. You see the witches caught me, the ones I was staying with. They had to heal me. I didn’t want them to, but they did. After months they finally healed my face to what it is today. They were going to heal it completely but I asked them to keep this part.” She finished running her finger over the scar.

Tara was in tears now. “You kept it.”

Willow nodded, “So I would never forget.”

Tara collapsed to the ground shaking from crying. Willow walked up and gathered the women in her arms.

“I’ll take you to Buffy’s, but I think it would be better if I didn’t come.” She said solemnly

Tara just responded by burying her head into Willow’s shoulder.

***

Buffy was setting the table for the dinner. Xander, Anya, their daughter, and Dawn were in the living room joking and horsing around. A second later the door bell rang. She heard Dawn say that she would get it and then the door opened.

“WHAT the HELL did you do?” she heard her younger sister ask.

Buffy made her way to the front hall. There stood an angry Dawn and a disheveled Willow trying her best to hold up a sobbing Tara. Willow turned to Buffy and nodded to her to take her position of bracing against the other witch to keep her from falling.

“I should go.” Willow said leaving out the door she came into the house through.

***

It had been two weeks since Thanksgiving. Christmas was in the air in Sunnydale. Everyone seemed to become more cheerful and kinder, well, except Willow Rosenberg.

Willow for the past two weeks had been a terror. She had done over fifteen oral pop quizzes for her advance chemistry classes and had assigned a major essay about the reactions of the chemicals that her students had been experimenting on for the past week. She had also decided she was going to assign a new book that wasn’t on her syllabus. She was acting like Willzilla.

Never had Willow isolated herself so badly. She was refusing to leave her office now. She had set up an air mattress and had brought a suit case with her. Every morning she would go to the gym with her gym bag, work out, shower, change into today’s clothes, and then head back to her office. She would repeat this cycle every day.

Christmas was approaching rapidly and this time Willow was going away for sure. She had already planned her trip and packed her car, as soon as finals for her class ended she was taking the papers and driving to San Francisco to visit a sister coven there. She just couldn’t stay there for the holidays.

Willow was just finishing up reading through the latest paper she had assigned when the phone on her desk began to ring. She momentarily debated whether to pick up the phone or not, but she decided to answer because it could actually be important. She was disappointed when it was Buffy’s voice on the other end.

“Willow?” the slayers voice asked.

Willow paused but answered back.”Yes Buffy?”

“You might want to get down to the hospital.” The slayer said a hint of a sob in her voice.

Willow began to panic. “Oh goddess is it you, is it Dawn, Xander? What happened?”

“No, Xander, Dawn, Anya, and I are fine but Tara, well she isn’t.”

:”I’ll be there.” She responded emotionlessly.

Willow dropped the phone down. She picked up her keys and bag and headed towards the hospital.

***

Willow sat in the cold hallways of the Sunnydale hospital surrounded by the scoobies. She was worried for Tara’s life currently and that wasn’t a pleasant feeling. It was a mad world.

Her life could be condensed into three feelings, happiness, grief, and this panicky-worrying state. How was that fair? How could this be her life?

In the background of the hospital the typical upbeat music played. It was the type of music that they always played in places of death if a cemetery was to have a happy feel good tune one of the songs playing currently would be a shoe-in to win.

After what seemed to be an eternity of waiting a doctor walked towards the group. He wore a look of bad news. Willow hated that face.

“Are you the family of Tara Maclay?” he asked.

Xander stood up, “Yeah. What’s the prognosis Doc?”

The doctor pulled out Tara’s chart. “Ms. Maclay was suffering from severe internal bleeding from where the car struck her. We managed to stop the bleeding but Ms. Maclay also sustained a head wound during the accident. She has yet to regain consciousness. I am sorry to say this but if she doesn’t wake up in the next few days it is very possible we are looking at severe brain damage.”

A silence fell over the scoobies. They were not out of the woods yet.

Dawn’s voice broke the silence. “Can we see her?”

“I’m sorry but visiting hours are over and it is against hospital policy. I suggest you guys should go home and get some sleep.” The doctor reported back.

Though hearing this news the scoobies stayed for a few more hours in case something changed, but after awhile they realized nothing was going to change.

“We should head home.” Xander said, pulling Anya up with him off of the uncomfortable chairs. “Our little girl has already been contaminated enough by the British grandpa.”

Buffy nodded. “Dawn and I should head back to. I have to patrol and she has class in the morning.”

The four then looked to Willow.

“You need a ride home?” asked Xander.

Willow shook her head. “I’m going to hang around. My TA is going to handle classes for the next few days. I call you guys if something changes.

Xander shook his head, “No, go home and get some rest Will.”

“I promise that I will not be seen in these halls till morning visiting hours if anything doesn’t change in the next hour.”

Xander nodded. “Okay.”

He and the others then proceeded to leave the hospital, leaving Willow alone.

“I said I wouldn’t be seen, not that I would leave.” She whispered to herself discovering a loophole in what she had promised. She then began to chant. “Goddess I beseech you let my cry be heard and let my image be hidden from those whom I wish to be rid off.”

Willow then was invisible to all of the doctors and nurses of the hospital. She then snuck into a little room off the east wing where her former lover dwelled lost in her sub-conscious mind.

Abarda: Nothing bad is going to happen to Tara in this chapter. Actually a lot of good is going to happen. (but bad still is on the horizon)

AmberGoddess: I'm glad you like this.

Love_2003: Nothing on the magic yet but it will happen at some point I just felt like making this a happy chapter.

Zampsa1975: Willow coming out of her shell is coming I promise! This chapter is just a warm up to the big bang!

*******
Now onto the update.

Chapter 4: Run

Willow Rosenberg had been sitting in the overly uncomfortable hospital chair for nearly three weeks. She thought that by the end of the time she would have to spend their she would have to come back to have work done on her spine, or it was what she would have thought if she hadn’t been preoccupied with worry.

Tara had yet to wake up. Doctors had been passing through everyday checking her vital signs. Willow over heard the attending doctor say that if her brain waves did not pick up soon there was a serious possibility of severe brain damage. Worry was all she could feel after hearing that.

Being invisible to all the other people, no one knew that Tara had a guardian angel watching over her. Whenever anyone came into the room Willow would make sure they meant no harm to Tara. Sadly, the only visitors she had were Xander and Anya, who had popped in only for five minutes to see her status.

It was almost Christmas now. Willow had nearly fifteen messages from the gang asking where she was. Since she was invisible no one had seen her and she had disappeared completely off the radar leaving everything the way it was before Tara’s accident. She just spent her time staring at the machines willing for them to change, for good news. Nothing ever did.

*****

Xander Harris sat on a couch at his home. It was Christmas morning and his little girl was unwrapping presents throwing tissue and wrapping paper into the air as she dug into her copious amounts of presents. Which, surprisingly, half of them were from Willow. Apparently his best friend, before disappear off the face of the earth for a second time, had taken Anya and the little girl out so they could pick out presents. When he asked Anya why she allowed Willow to buy so much for their little girl she answered that Willow said she wanted to make up for every birthday and holiday she had missed.

He watched closely as the eyes lit up on the tiny face of his daughter as she opened the gifts she had received. In his mind he was thanking the ‘Little Jewish Santa’, but he still wondered where the hell she had gone off to.

****

The Summers’s household was a little less active this Christmas. Tara usually spent the morning with them and then the entire Scooby gang would have dinner together at the house. This year unopened presents remained under the tree. It was more than a little depressing to remember the friends that were not able to be there today.

“Do you think Willow will come around?” Dawn softly asked her older sister.

Buffy shook her head, “I have no idea where Willow is, Dawny. She just disappeared after Tara had her accident. The last time I saw her was when Tara was admitted.”

“Maybe she is still at the hospital.” She said hopefully.

Buffy one again shook her head. “I have searched the entire hospital. She is not there.”

Dawn hung her head down, but then an idea came to her. “What if Willow is hiding. Maybe she feels that this is somehow her fault so she is hiding herself with magic.”

*********

Tara was lost in a sea of white. Every time she swam in any direction the sea seemed to expand. She had no idea which direction to swim in. She had seemed to have tried every direction. No matter which direction she went there was nothing to be found. A noise to the left of her is what made Tara continue on. It sounded like a voice singing. She could almost understand the words.

Is there anybody going to listen to my story?

The voice seemed all too familiar to Tara. She started to swim towards the noise hoping it would bring her to shore.

All about the girl who came to stay.

Now the voice seemed to be coming from the left instead of coming from directly in front of her. She started to swim to the left now.

She's the kind of girl you want so much

The directions made no since what so ever. It now appeared as though the voice was coming from directly behind her.

“WHO IS THAT? WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?” She screamed out into the ocean.

All that she got back as a reply was the voice coming from the same direction.

It makes you sorry

She swam once again after the voice. She stopped to listen once again for the voice. Once again it came from the same direction.

Still you don't regret a single day.

She continued to follow the voice. She could feel the water was becoming warmer and shallower.

A girl

Now Tara’s feet hit the sea bottom. She could see the shore line. As she pulled herself up her vision began to spot white. The last thing she could comprehend was the voice one last time.

Girl

*******

Willow was tired of waiting. All she ever did was wait her entire life. First she waited to be accepted by Xander, then Buffy, then Oz, and later Tara. Then she waited to overcome Tara’s mental illness, and then finally she was still waiting to break her magic addiction and win Tara back. Waiting sucked.

“Fuck this.” Willow said getting up out of her chair. She walked towards the bed where Tara had been lying in since her initial examination

She bent down and whispered into Tara’s ear. “Hey, it’s me. It’s Christmas and you’re still somewhere trapped in your mind. I know we are not in a good place currently, and we haven’t been for awhile, but you need to get better. Remember when there was Glory. Remember what I told you. You are my always.”

Willow stroked the uninjured part of Tara’s face and once again brought her lips close to the girl’s ear.

“Remember that song you’d always ask me to sing. You always asked me to skip the last two verses because the first was such a great verse and the last two ruined it. I’ll sing it again if you want.” She said almost asking.

She then started to sign softly, “Is there anybody going to listen to my story? All about the girl who came to stay. She's the kind of girl you want so much it makes you sorry. Still, you don't regret a single day. A girl, girl.”

Willow then stepped back as monitors started to beep obnoxiously in Tara’s room. Soon doctors and nurses were piling into the room. After a few minutes of unhooking and examination two blue orbs were focused on her figure. She just gave a small smile and put a figure on her lips to tell the girl to be quite about her presences. She slipped away from the crowd and out to the waiting room. She had five people to call about this turn of events.

****

Tara sat in the hospital. She was surrounded by the Harris and Summers families, but something was missing, Where was the red headed goddess that was there when she first woke up?

“You’re thinking about her aren’t you?” Dawn said quietly to the woman. “We don’t know where she is. She disappeared after you were admitted and then suddenly we get a call from her telling us to rush down here. I went to her house to check on her before we got here but all that was there was a note telling us she decided to go away for the rest of the break. I’m sorry.”

Tara’s face took on a look of shock, “This was what, two, three hours ago? Check the airport! Go after her.”

Dawn waved her hands in protest. “Do you really want someone around who couldn’t bother to show up once you woke up?”

“But she was. She was here. When I woke up she was here.”

Dawn shook her head, “That’s impossible the doctors said no one had visited since Xander a few days ago.”

“Dawny, she was here. It must be by some spell, or something, but she was here I think the entire time I was in a coma.” She insisted.

A small smile graced the young woman’s face. “Let’s go find her.”

***

The airport was deserted in Sunnydale. The only flight out was to L.A, which was still an hour away from boarding. From L.A. Willow would catch a plane to England and would spend the rest of the holiday with Giles in England. Everything was planned and ready.

As she turned her back to the terminal entrance a rushing of doors opening and the sound of running feet and wheels hitting the carpet met her ears.

“There she is!” yelled a voice.

Willow turned back towards the doors to the terminal. There she saw Dawn and Tara making their way towards her. Tara broke past Dawn and started to wheel her wheelchair faster towards Willow.

“If you fought you could get rid of me that easily you were severely wrong.” Tara said stopping next to her.

Willow turned away, “I’ve got a plane to catch and you have to get back to the hospital.”

Tara huffed and wheeled herself in front of Willow once again. “Darling, if you fought you could escape using that excuse you are really selling me short.”

“You shouldn’t have followed me. I have nothing to offer you but this shell, this corpse.” She whispered tears starting to break her resolve,

Tara took Willow’s hand from her side. She then yanked the wiccan closer to her so she could whisper something in her ear.

“You know,” she whispered, “When I was in my coma I was lost in my mind, then this lovely voice came from nowhere and lead me to shore, back to reality. You know what that voice said?” she asked the girl.

“I have no idea.” The green eyed witch responded.

“Is there anybody going to listen to my story? All about the girl who came to stay. She’s the kind of girl you want so much it makes you sorry. Still you don’t regret a single day. A girl, girl.” She repeated word for word of what Willow had sung to her.

Willow was shocked. She remembered what she had sung to her!

“You know what I have to say in response?” Willow nodded to the other witch. “Honey you are a rock upon which I stand, and I come here to talk. I hope you understand. That green eyes, yeah the spotlight, shines upon you and how could anybody deny you. I came here with a load and it feels so much lighter now I’ve met you .And honey you should know that I could never go on without you.”

Willow now had tears streaming down her face. “I love you.”

Tara just pulled the Witch down to her head level and brought her lips towards hers. Tongues met but there was no battle no fight for dominance. This was rediscovery to find the missing piece of someone’s soul. They broke the kiss due to the wolf whistling in the background from Dawn.

“Let’s go home.” Tara whispered to the redhead.

***

Sorry this is late folks but as you know Christmas is a busy time for musicians. It is when we get the most gigs because schools hiring accompanists for the choir recitals, so after playing for many middle schools and high schools I raked in a cache of money and was able to get a decent Christmas present for my other half (better half I was just told) and afford to pay the gas bill. So I hope you enjoyed this and if you think this is it for the drama, button up your coats because the cold winter is still on and a blizzard is on the horizon.

abarda: Lucky! Yesterday I was playing at a wedding and I had to keep checking my cello to make sure it was okay because I was lugging it around outside in the twenty degree weather. Thanks for the feedback.

ashcrash71590: Glad you think this is cute. Sadly cute factor next update is lower. Thanks for the feedback!

And now onwards to the update!

***********************************

The morning sun glared into Willow’s eyes causing her to groan and roll over. For the first time in over six years she was not alone, A warm body laid next to her. As she rolled over she scooted closer and wrapped her arms around the figure and buried her face in the chestnut colored locks of hair. For now she was at peace wrapped around her lover.

That was until someone decided to wake them up. Buffy walked into the bedroom and cleared her throat loudly.

“Not that I am not thrilled that you have been united and are all lovely dovey, but the hospital wants Tara and the wheel chair she and Dawn stole back. You’ve got ten minutes; I’ll wait in the car for you two.” She then left the two girls alone.

They groaned as they made ready to leave for the hospital.

*****

“I just want to know what possessed you after awakening from a three week coma to escape from this hospital and steel a wheel chair before being properly looked over to make sure there wasn’t lasting damage from the coma.” Doctor White demanded of the patient that had recently returned after disappearing.

Willow and Tara shared a look and Tara replied to the doctor, “Well, I was invited by Rachel Maddow to a Christmas party and who the hell would miss one of her cocktails.”

Willow burst out laughing when she saw the doctor’s disapproving look. She launched herself into Tara’s arms to keep herself from falling to the floor with laughter

“Susan had a real great time too. We discussed such issues as gay marriage and the old rift-raff.”Willow added after she regained her composure.

The doctor just shook his head as he left and said six words, “You are perfect for each other.”

Willow and Tara grinned at the statement and for the first time that day agreed with what the doctors said.

After being finished with the final exam, Tara was cleared to leave the hospital legally this time. She and Willow made their way out the front door hand in hand. They grinned at the emerging figure of Doctor White from another patient’s room as they made their way out.

For the next few weeks life was blissful for the two wiccans. The scoobies were kicking major bad guy ass, Dawn was asked by the head of the genetics department at the university to work with her over spring break, everything for once seemed to be going exactly as it should. It was like Cloud Nine.

The happiness for the duo though would end soon because as spring emerged so did a ‘lovely’ Jewish holiday that usually involved family, friends, and the consumption of alcohol, strong alcohol. Another lovely holiday that coincided during the same exact week was Easter. This meant two things for Willow, one, dashing from dinner to dinner on Easter, and interacting with her parents.

Willow had not spent a Passover with her parents in a good eight to nine years, not since she had begun really getting into Wicca. Since she had moved back to Sunnydale she had yet to contact her parents, but they knew she had returned. Though her parents were not the most involved parents they still found it interesting when their daughter, who they had not had real contact with in six years, returned to Sunnydale to work under one of their better friends who happened to be the dean of University of California Sunnydale. Since learning of her return Willow had received thirty-two messages regarding spending the holidays with family, which she had responded to approximately none.

Willow would have continued this but her parents decided that the phone was not going to do it and decided that they were going to drop in themselves to check on their daughter. Who, right at the moment when they rang the door bell, was already occupied spending her lunch hour with her beautiful girlfriend.

Ira and Shelia Rosenberg knocked on the front door of 13600 Francisco Way at about one in the afternoon on a Tuesday afternoon. The pair had recently returned from a seminar in L.A. and, for the first time since Hanukah, were both home at the same time. They decided that since Passover started in a few days that it would be wise to try to convince their wayward daughter to come to the Rosenberg family event.

“Seriously Shelia, Tom said she always went home during her lunch hour. She never goes anywhere on campus, just home. I think she’s just trying to hide from us, god knows why though.” Ira Rosenberg responded to his wife’s cries that the headmaster must have been mistaken.

What seemed to solidify Ira’s theory though was when they were preparing to leave they saw a flash of movement from one of the windows on the second floor of the house.

“Shelia,” Ira said, “I’m about to do something I haven’t done since we were in college. I am going to throw rocks at a brilliant redhead’s window to get her attention.”

*****

Willow Rosenberg was on Cloud Nine. She had just finished her first ‘mind blowing sex with her hot girlfriend’ session of the day. What could be more perfect than that? She enjoyed snuggling closer into her girlfriends back holding her closer, burying her nose into the strawberry scented locks of hair that trailed down her lovers back.

“Hey you.” Tara said as she felt Willow edge closer.

“Hey back to you.” Willow responded.

Tara nudged herself a little farther from the other witch so she could flip over to face her.

“Have I told you today how much I love you?” she asked sincerely.

Willow gave her a suggesting smile, “Yes I believe you have. In fact, I believe several minutes ago you were practically screaming how much you loved me.”

Tara blushed slightly but responded, “I wasn’t the only one screaming.”

Willow started tickling the chestnut haired woman until she jumped up off the bed, brushing the curtains from the window above her bed.

“No naked tickles.” The witch insisted.

Willow’s face turned to a pout. “But I love the naked tickles.”

Tara laughed at the red-haired witch’s impersonation of a four year old. She then got back down and cuddled with the woman again. They were content for a few moments before a loud ‘BANG’ disturbed them.

Willow immediately jumped up to see what the noise was. As she pushed back the curtain she swore loudly.

“Shit!”

Tara surprised by the redhead’s use of language also looked out the window. There, one floor below them, was two red haired people.

“My parents are here.” Willow said.

Tara’s eyes widened. Willow had only ever mentioned her parents a few times and all she had heard about them was that they were distant and that Willow never had a real relationship with them. She also had heard the story about how her mother had tried to burn her at the stake. She also knew that Willow had never told her parents about their relationship.

“Shit.” She said mirroring her girlfriend’s earlier comment.

*****

Willow Rosenberg now fully dressed opened her front door. Outside still stood her parents throwing rocks from her garden path at the window.

“What the HELL are you doing?” She asked her hands flung wildly in the air.

Shelia Rosenberg hearing her daughter shouting dropped the rocks she had gathered back to the ground.

“Well dearie, if you had just returned our messages we wouldn’t be here now.” Shelia said.

Willow’s face turned a red color. “When I tend not to answer people phone calls or return their messages it tends to mean I do not want to deal with them!”

“But it’s Passover. You need to come we invited the Cohen’s and they are bring Levi. You remember Levi, he was at your Bat Mitzvah. Anyway, he is single and is looking to get married in the next year or two. His mother and I think you two would be perfect for each other.”

Willow shook her head, wishing that there was some sharp object that she could bash her head into repeatedly until her parents got the message that she didn’t want to deal with them.

“Mom, one I am not Jewish anymore; two, I am not single; three, I have no desire to be in the same room as twenty drunk relative; four, I have plans with my friends this week.”

Ira Rosenberg’s face changed, “You’re n-not single, but Tom said you weren’t dating a guy. At least, no guy ever visited you on campus.”

Willow took a deep breath, “Mom, Dad I have something I have to tell you but I don’t think out here would be the best setting for the discussion we are about to have. So let’s head inside please.”

*****

Silence filled the living room. No one wanted this discussion to go on. Willow sat facing her parents, hands in her lap. She had to break the silence.

She took a deep breath, “I know you guys have only wanted the best for me and, in some wicked, sick, twisted and demented way it involves marrying a nice Jewish boy. I just want you to know that your plan is not a possibility for me.”

Ira interrupted, “How is that impossibility? You are only twenty-eight and you are only dating this boy, you don’t know if it is going to work out. You could very well end up with a nice Jewish boy. Is it Daniel, that boy you dated years ago, are you dating him again?”

“No dad, I am not dating Oz. I don’t know how you are going to take this, but the part about the nice Jewish part is not impossible in the religion area. The real reason is….” She was about to reveal the truth when her mother interrupted her.

“What do you mean it is not the religion part? What else could be a factor?!” She hysterically said.

Willow reached over the coffee table that divided her from her parents and took her mother’s hands.

“Ma, mom, I don’t like men.” Willow said finally revealing the secret she had been hiding from her parents for years.

Sheila was shocked, “W-w-what about that b-boy D-d-dd-Daniel?”

Willow shook her head. “He was a fluke. I have never felt what I feel for Tara with anyone else, ever! I also never looked at any other guy like the way I looked at Oz. After I realized how I truly felt for Tara, I realized I looked at Oz the way I looked at other women. I also realized I looked at men with sort of this fascination, fascination in how they could so easily interact with women and how they could be so smooth. I never really was interested in them.”

Ira Rosenberg’s face cracked into a grin, “So, Willow. You know Jacob Gerovitch’s Bachelor’s party is tomorrow. Do you think you and Tara might want to come with me,”

”IRA!” Shelia shrieked whacking him upside the head with her hand.

Ira whined, “But you said I could go to the party if I was willing to take a Rosenberg woman with me, Willow is a Rosenberg, and she wouldn’t be disgusted by the entertainment Jacob’s best man hired.”

The family spoke for a few more minutes before the elder Rosenbergs left. Shelia was the only person who did not speak during the rest of the time they spent together. It seemed that Shelia was taking the news of her only child being gay harder that Ira was. As they left she could only bring herself to wave goodbye.

Willow slumped against the front door once her parents finally left. Her lunch hour had been over for nearly a half an hour, but luckily today she didn’t have classes in the afternoon. She finally pulled herself off of the floor and walked over to her girlfriend. She wrapped her arms around Tara and kissed her neck.

“I never expected my dad to react like that.”She said as played with a long strand of Tara’s hair.

Tara smiled, “Well at least your dad took it well; your mom seemed to be in a stunned silence.”

“She’ll be fine in a few days.”Willow replied before busying her tongue against the skin of Tara’s neck.

A loud moan escaped the witch’s lips, “Willow!”

“Want to go get a little frisky?” Willow asked placing her hand between the band of her jeans and underwear. All she received was another moan in return. She took the moan as a ‘yes’.

******

“You know something I never really understood was that really bad Meg Ryan film with Nicholas Cage.” Willow said turning over in bed pull the covers up so she could face Tara.

“Is that the movie that has the same title as a Red Hot Chili Peppers song?” Tara asked, only having heard of one movie that fit that description.

Willow nodded, “Yeah, that one.”

Tara laughed, “It never made any sense to me either.”

The two girls were quite from then on. They were content in staring at each other as they drifted back and forth from consciousness to the land of dreams. Whenever they fell asleep when they woke up the other one was their eyes open looking into their own. It was a dream, a fantasy that had become a reality for the two girls. Love, it powered it all. It was what was keeping them together.

Willow shifted once again, now using her elbow to prop herself up. She took a deep breath; she could no longer keep the secret that was burdening her heart. She had to tell this beautiful, kind woman the truth.

“I need to tell you something.”
"When you run with the Doctor, it feels like it'll never end. But however hard you try you can't run forever. Everybody knows that everybody dies and nobody knows it like the Doctor. But I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever for one moment, accepts it. Everybody knows that everybody dies. But not every day. Not today. Some days are special. Some days are so, so blessed. Some days, nobody dies at all. Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair, and the Doctor comes to call... everybody lives." River Song - "Forest of the Dead"

I absolutely love this story. I can't wait to read what Willow needs to tell Tara. I liked Ira's response, but I worry about Sheila. Thanks for this story.

I completely agree with the doctor:
The doctor just shook his head as he left and said six words, “You are perfect for each other.”

I like this story, but I always get worried when the chapters end with things to be told...
Please, write more! :peace

Things fall apart. They fall apart so hard. You can't ever ... put them back the way they were.
Are you okay?
I'm sorry, it's just ... You know, it takes time. You can't just ... have coffee and expect-
I know.
There's just so much to work through. Trust has to be built again, on both sides ... You have to learn if ... if we're even the same people we were, if you can fit in each other's lives. It's a long... important process, and ... can we just skip it? Can-can you just be kissing me now?
